A massive Marine Headquarters building rises from the sea as panicked voices cry out '...INTO THE OCEANI!' and 'THE WORLD'S GONNA SINK...' while 'NAVY HQ, NEW WORLD' and 'THE WORLD IS SHOCKED!' appear in boxes. In the next panel, a crowd of Marines and officials reacts in horror; one man shouts 'DR. VEGAPUNK!!' as another yells 'DOES HE REALIZE WHAT HE'S SAYINGI!' with frantic motion lines and sweat drops everywhere. The bottom panels shift to Mock Town, where a man laughs wildly 'GYAAAAAH HA HA HA HAAA!!' beside a sign reading 'THE TOWN OF MOCKERY - MOCK TOWN.' Chaos erupts as a man with goggles shouts 'HOW THE HECK IS THE WHOLE WORLD... MEANT TO SINK, MR. GENIUSI! HA HA HA!' while another figure yells 'THIS GUY'S A RIOT! IS HE TRYING TO PANIC EVERYONE... AND TAKE THE WORLD DOWN WITH HIMI!' A panel shows Water Seven with rising tides and the label 'THE CITY OF WATER - WATER SEVEN.' A scarred man with an 'X' on his chest reacts with '...I!' A later scene features Magellan roaring with laughter 'FU FU FU FU FU!!!' as he declares 'THIS JUST GETS BETTER AND BETTER! Panic spreads across the island as voices debate the crisis. "WE COULD ALWAYS GO SOMEWHERE HIGH UP!!" one shouts. Another laughs nervously, "FU FU FU FU FU FU!! MAYBE WE SHOULD ALL EVACUATEI" A grim figure warns, "MOST URBAN AREAS WOULD BE SCREWED IF WATER LEVELS ROSE JUST ANOTHER 5 METERS!" Another adds, "YOU HAVE A POINT. THE SUDDEN SEA LEVEL RISE EARLIER CAUSED HAVOC WITH SOME CELLS... AND THAT WAS ONLY ONE METER. HOW MANY METERS WOULD IT TAKE TO COVER THE WHOLE WORLDI" On Fishman Island, a mermaid reacts with shock, "HMMM... IT SOUNDS SO OUTLANDISH-JAMON...!!" while a voice cries "BNAAH" and another asks, "IS THAT REALLY GOING TO HAPPEN...I" A young voice calls out, "FATHER!" A sign reads "RYUGU KINGDOM, FISHMAN ISLAND." Back on Egghead, an angry man roars, "ENOUGH WITH THE LIES AND MADNESS, VEGAPUNK!" A defender replies, "BUT THE WORLD'S MOST ACCLAIMED SCIENTIST IS SAYING IT!" Someone else yells, "YEAH, IT DOESN'T MATTER IF IT'S TRUE, IT'LL CAUSE MASS PANIC AND CHAOS!" A large sign declares "EGGHEAD - 'THE ISLAND OF THE FUTURE'" as another voice exclaims, "THIS IS CRAZY TALK!"

Vegapunk's broadcast continues amid chaos. A voice urges, "WE CAN DEAL WITH THE RAMIFICATIONS LATER!!" Another commands, "QUICKLY!! ERADICATE THE BROADCAST SNAIL... NO--- SNUFF OUT EVERY LIVING THING YOU CAN SENSE!!" On the island, a furious man shouts, "DAMN STELLA! DID HE REALLY SPILL THE BEANS ON EVERYTHINGI" while a woman in a headset pants, "HUFF..." and fires a weapon with loud "KABOOM" and "HUFF..." sounds. A pleading voice says, "PLEASE HUMOR ME FOR A MOMENT AS I MAKE A PREDICTION..." In a vision of the future, a massive earthquake strikes as narration states, "...AN EXCEPTIONALLY VICIOUS EARTHQUAKE WILL ROCK THE ENTIRE PLANET!" Onlookers react with "HUHI!" A sign warns of the coming disaster.

The broadcast details the catastrophe: "A NUMBER OF ISLANDS WILL BECOME UNINHABITABLE... SEA LEVELS THE WORLD OVER WILL RISE BY ONE METER. FOLLOWING THIS CALAMITY, AND NATURALLY, MANY BEACHES WILL ALSO BE COMPLETELY SUBMERGED." People react in horror, "NO WAY...I! HE ACTUALLY SAID IT COMINGI!" and "DIDN'T HE DIE AFTER THIS RECORDING...I" A woman in a helmet cries, "DON'T TELL ME HE'S TALKING ABOUT TODAY'S EARTHQUAKE...I" Vegapunk continues, "THEN PLEASE PAY HEED TO WHAT I HAVE TO SAY!! ASSUMING, HOWEVER, THESE EVENTS HAVE TRANSPIRED..." Observers shout, "THIS IS FREAKY! HOW WAS HE ABLE TO CALL ITI!" and "...FEEL FREE TO DISREGARD THE REST OF THIS MESSAGE. IF THIS DOESN'T COME TO PASS..." A massive earthquake erupts with sounds "KYAAH!!" "WAAAH!!" and "ZAAAAA" as narration declares, "...BE CONSIDERED A NATURAL PHENOMENON! THE EARTHQUAKE I JUST PREDICTED CANNOT STRICTLY SPEAKING..." A shocked voice yells, "!!I"

Explosions rock the battlefield as Vegapunk is attacked. A voice yells, "NOT ANOTHER WORD!! VEGAPUNK!!" while another shouts, "GNNG!!" A woman with a large weapon declares, "I'VE ALWAYS NAIVELY YEARNED FOR PEACE AND PROSPERITY... GET OUT OF HERE!!" Vegapunk is struck with massive impact sounds "DO DO DO DO" and "GWAH!!" A figure commands, "BEGONE!" as more blasts erupt with "YOOHO!!" "UWAAH!!" and "BZZZT!!" A woman with dark hair is thrown back amid the chaos, screaming as machinery and debris fly everywhere.

A massive mechanical chamber dominates the scene, centered on a glowing circular core labeled S-108 and A&Mu. The giant title "MOTHER FLAME" looms overhead. An old bearded scientist stares upward in shock as debris flies. Speech bubbles read: "...TOO CLOSE TO THE SUN." and "BUT I FLEW...". On the right side, the same scientist appears in flashback panels, exclaiming "MARS! WHAT IS THE STATUS OF THE POWER STATIONI!" and "AND THAT BROUGHT ME TO WHAT PROVED TO BE MY FIRST GRAVE SIN." He continues, "WE MUST PRESERVE THE CONTENTS OF THAT ROOM!!" and "I AM ALMOST THERE!!". Smaller bubbles state "HELLBENT ON DRIVING..." and "...THE WORLD TO A BIGGER AND BRIGHTER FUTURE...". Below, a cloaked figure runs from an explosion shouting "NOT YET!" while narration declares "...WE MUST BE RELENTLESS!" and "WE HAVE TO ERADICATE ALL LIFEFORMS...". The scientist clutches his head, crying "THE MOTHER FLAME!!" and "UGGH..." as impact lines and smoke fill the frame.

Explosions rock the sky with massive fireballs and "ドン!!" sound effects. A voice reflects, "I SHOULDN'T GET AHEAD OF MYSELF THOUGH." Below, a shocked old man with a long mustache yells "WHAT IS ITI! WE DIDN'T EVEN FAZE IT!!" while another figure says "IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND...". A chaotic battle erupts between sailing ships as someone shouts "NOTHING'S WORKING!!" and "IT'S NO USE!". Stomp effects and smoke clouds fill the air. In the lower panel, two frantic pirates charge forward: one with a wide grin cries "DA HYA HYA!!" while the other yells "YOUCHI! THAT'S HOT!!". A bubble warns "...WHERE THE WORLD IS HEADING..." and "WE'LL BE BURNED TO A CRISP IF WE DON'T HURRY!" as flames and debris swirl around them.

An old man adds "WE MUST FIRST ADDRESS THE PAST, SPECIFICALLY WHAT HAPPENED...". In a crowded hall, a woman with glasses thinks "THE VOID CENTURYI WHAT IS HE TALKING ABOUT...I". Voices shout "BRING BACK HIS BODY! I'LL TEAR HIM LIMB FROM LIMB!" and "DEATH IS TOO GOOD FOR HIM!". The old man continues, "AND THAT IS TRUE FOR THE MOST PART, BUT THERE IS ONE LAST KEY TO UNLOCKING SOME SCRAPS AND ECHOES FROM BACK THEN." and "IT IS KNOWN AS THE VOID CENTURY SINCE ALL INFORMATION ABOUT IT HAS EITHER BEEN ERASED OR LOST...". He points accusingly, "THOSE MISERABLE MARINES! WHAT ARE THEY DOINGI! HURRY AND SHUT THIS CRETIN'S MOUTH!!". A cloaked figure lies on the ground as narration states "...OF GLIMPSING THIS UNKNOWN PAST." and "THE TEXT INSCRIBED ON THEM, ONCE DECODED, IS OUR ONE AND ONLY METHOD..." while "THE PONEGLYPHS! THOSE LONELY STONES DWELLING IN VARIOUS QUIET AND CALM LANDS ALL OVER THE GLOBE..." appears nearby.

In a lively room, a curly-haired man laughs while a small child reads a book titled "HISTORY". Bubbles read "I WONDER IF THIS OLD TIMER KNOWS ABOUT ANY OF 'EM.", "WHO CAN SAY...I WHAT DO YOU THINK, CHOUCHOUI", "WOOF!!", "...TEAMED UP TO CREATE THE WORLDI!", "...THAT WAAAAY BACK WHEN, 20 KINGS...", and "HEY, DID YOU KNOW...". A sign reads "ORANGE TOWN, EAST BLUE". The old scientist continues his tale: "AND SO, I FELT COMPELLED TO COMMIT MY SECOND GRAVE SIN." and "I BETRAYED THE GOVERNMENT AND FORBADE THIS ERA MYSELF." He adds "...IS CONSIDERED TABOO BY THE WORLD GOVERNMENT." and "DESPITE THIS, MY ATTEMPTS TO DECIPHER THE PONEGLYPHS...". A woman with glasses listens silently. Later panels show her saying "I PURSUED THIS RESEARCH AS FAR AS POSSIBLE..." and "AND I HAVE NO REGRETS!". The scientist names "ZORO-SAAAN!! JINBE-SAAAN!!" while noting "SEVERAL DOCUMENTS FROM A CERTAIN GROUP OF EXCEPTIONAL ARCHEOLOGISTS, AND THAT ALLOWED ME TO DECIPHER A NUMBER OF PONEGLYPHS..." and "I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO INHERIT...".

The massive structure lurches violently as the ground beneath the clouds begins to shift. "SLLLNK" rings out with the sound of straining metal. "WHOA! THE GROUND'S MOVING!!" someone cries while distant figures cling to the tilting terrain. A calm narration box states, "HISTORY IS A STORY, AFTER ALL." Below, the crew stares upward in shock. "HMI" one murmurs as the clouds stretch and thin dramatically. "THE CLOUDS ARE STRETCHINGI" another exclaims. Nami's eyes widen in alarm as she shouts, "LOOK!" On the deck of the transformed ship, Franky yells, "Y'ALL STRAW HATS HAD BETTER MAKE IT...!!" while Usopp adds nervously, "DON'TCHA DARE GET CAUGHT..." A small robot-like figure warns, "...BY THE GOVERNMENT!!" The group realizes the edge of the clouds is approaching fast. "THAT'S RIGHT! WITH THE EDGE OF THE CLOUDS FURTHER OUT, WE'LL BE ABLE LEAP RIGHT INTO THE OCEAN!" one declares. "THIS MUST BE WHAT EDISON WAS TALKING ABOUT!" another confirms as the ship hurtles forward.

Luffy's body warps and expands in a massive burst of energy, his form stretching like rubber across the sky. "AND JUST LIKE THE LEGENDARY SUN GOD NIKA FROM THE FABLES OF ELBAF," a narration explains, "HE TOO FOUGHT WITH A STRETCHY AND ELASTIC BODY..." The crew watches in awe as the transformation peaks. "THEY CALLED HIM JOY BOY!!" The text continues, "HE WAS THE FIRST MAN TO TAKE TO THE SEAS... THE FIRST ONE TO BE CALLED A PIRATE!!" A massive panel shows Luffy's awakened form towering over the ocean. "THIS NEXT MOVE IS GONNA WORK!" he roars. Another box adds, "...WAS BORN 900 YEARS AGO IN A BOUNTIFUL AND ADVANCED KINGDOM..." and "AND IN TRUTH..." The scene cuts to the present with Luffy declaring, "ENOUGH. STRAW HAT! IT'S TIME!" as the chapter ends with "BREAK NEXT WEEK."
