Bonney asks, "WHAT IS ITI" Vegapunk continues, "HE SAID IT WAS MEANT TO BE A PROTECTIVE CHARM..." Bonney holds up a sun-shaped sapphire necklace, crying out "THIS NECKLACE LOOKS JUST LIKE THE SUN!! IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL!! IT'S A SAPPHIRE.... I WILL CHERISH IT!!" Vegapunk reflects, "HE IS THE CHILD OF A VERY GOOD FRIEND OF DAD'S... 'STRAW HAT'" Bonney adds, "TO THINK THAT KID WOULD EVOLVE SO MUCH IN ONLY TWO YEARS!! NOBODY COULD HAVE IMAGINED IT...!" Vegapunk concludes, "FATE IS SUCH A STRANGE THING... YES... I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE YOU TWO ENDED UP COMING HERE TOGETHER!!"

A spiky-haired figure with a small companion sits on the floor and speaks calmly. "I AM ACTUALLY BEING SAVED BY STRAW HAT'S CREW. SINCE YOU WENT INSIDE THAT ROOM. A LOT OF INCIDENTS HAVE HAPPENED AT EGGHEAD. I WILL TELL YOU EVERYTHING, SO CALM DOWN AND LET'S JOIN UP WITH THEM." A question mark floats nearby. In the next tier, smaller panels show distant views of Egghead as narration continues: "THE ONES WHO WERE TRULY BAD WERE... IT WAS NOT THE FAULT OF A SCIENTIST DOING HIS JOB!!" A long-haired woman wearing headphones looks distressed and says, "I'M SORRY, BONNEY......BUT I DON'T HAVE A CHOICE." Wide shots of Egghead under siege show distant structures and a massive barrier. Narration boxes read: "NOBODY EXCEPT THE ADMIRAL COULD GO INSIDE..." WE ADMINISTERED IT WITH AN EXTRACT..." Bonney clutches her head, realizing, "I CAN'T MANIPULATE MY AGE NEAR THIS OLD GUY!! WHY IS THATI!" Marines shout, "CATCH HIM IMMEDIATELY!!" Saturn explains the fruit's flaws: "HOWEVER, ITS ABILITIES ARE SEVERELY DECREASED WHEN ONE'S KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE FUTURE DIFFERS FROM REALITY. THE USER IS ABLE TO TRANSFORM HOWEVER THEY WANT REGARDING THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE. ALTHOUGH IT WAS A SUCCESS, IT WAS INDEED AN UNNECESSARY FRUIT." In a flashback, Kuma's battered face appears as he recalls his father's words: "SAID THIS TO ME: 'I WANT TO SAVE PEOPLE JUST LIKE NIKA!'" Kuma declares, "YOUR FATHER, WHO BELIEVED IN SUCH WORTHLESS BALCANIAN LEGENDS, I SWORE I'D SEARCH FOR HIM, TO GIVE HIM FREEDOM AGAIN!!" The narration states, "NIKA" EXISTS!! FROM THE DAY THAT DAD BECAME A CYBORG WHO OBEYED YOU WITHOUT QUESTION, I WANT TO BELIEVE IN NIKA... THE FIRST GLINT OF EVIDENCE THAT CONFIRMED A REALITY WHERE HE WAS DEAD WAS ENOUGH TO WEAKEN ME..."

Saturn continues his explanation to Bonney. "SO EVEN HER CHILD INHERITED THAT CONDITION. IT DIDN'T GO VERY WELL." Bonney reacts, "WHATII" Saturn adds, "IT WAS ALSO ME WHO EXPERIMENTED WITH DRUGS IN YOUR MOTHER, THE ONE WHO WOULD LATER BECOME THE 8TH LADY OF THE HOLY LAND!! BUT THE SIDE EFFECTS DIDN'T STOP SHOWING UP: THE BLUE MARKS WERE STILL APPEARING. IT WAS A FAILURE." An explosion rocks the area as someone yells, "DID SOMETHING FALL OVER THEREI!" and "UWAAAH!!!" Bonney, tears streaming, confronts Saturn: "YOU WERE TOYING WITH KUMA'S FAMILY BY USING AN ILLNESS SUCH AS THE SAPPHIRE SCALES!! THIS WAS THE REASON WHY KUMA GAVE AWAY HIS LIFE!! YOUR EXPERIMENTSI SATURN!!" Saturn retorts, "YOUR FAULT. IT WAS ALL..."

Saturn looms over Bonney, who trembles with tears. "THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE..." Saturn replies coldly, "ARE YOU SAYING THAT I SHOULD UNDERSTAND THE FEELINGS OF AN INSECTI HEY... YOU SHOULD PUT YOURSELF IN MY PLACE." Below, chaos erupts as Kuma's massive form appears. "NO!! THERE IS A PAW IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND!! WHAT!I A PACIFISTA!I" Marines panic: "WE CAN'T STOP HIM!! THE COMMAND SHIP IS NOT WORKING!! HE IS CURRENTLY ADVANCING TO THE CENTER OF THE ISLAND!! THE FORMER WARLORD OF THE SEA, BARTHOLOMEW KUMA, HAS APPEARED!! TO THE SOUTHWESTERN SHORE OF EGGHEAD!!" Kuma charges forward amid smoke and debris.

Kuma smashes through the battlefield in a rampage. Marines scream, "SHOOT HIM!! IT DOESN'T MATTER, JUST STOP HIM!! STOP HIM!!" Bonney watches in horror, thinking, "IT'S IMPOSSIBLE. I AM TOO SCARED... WHAT IS THIS STUPID MESSI! THERE IS NO WAY KUMA COULD COME HERE... KUMA IS HEREI WHY!I" Kuma's fist collides with Saturn in a massive explosion. Bonney cries out, "HEY, DAD" as Saturn is struck. The impact sends Saturn flying, his face bloodied. "IT LOOKS LIKE YOUR HEART IS BREAKING DOWN." Kuma continues his assault amid smoke, debris, and shockwaves while distant figures react in panic.

Marines fire relentlessly from the right-side panels as explosions and smoke fill the air. "SHOOT! SHOOT!!!" "SHOOT UNTIL THERE'S NO MORE BULLETS!!" At this point, a close-up shows a determined marine's face. In the large central panel, Jewelry Bonney weeps uncontrollably, tears and sweat streaming down her face as she clutches her head. "I JUST DIED..." "IT WOULD BE BETTER IF..." Japanese SFX "うわああ" and "あああ" emphasize her despair. Below, a marine shouts, "YOUR YELLING WON'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE!! SHUT UP, YOU DAMN BRAT!!" while distant figures continue shooting. The bottom panels erupt in a massive blast of smoke, debris, and impact lines around a large figure. A sniper's scope view locks on as a marine yells, "SHOOT THE HEAD OFF!!" The shot rings out with SFX "ピュ!" and "シュルル". Bonney cries "AAAH...!!" in agony. A colossal explosion erupts in the center spread, hurling debris and figures as a massive spider-like mechanical form of Bartholomew Kuma emerges amid smoke and rubble, SFX "ズゴォォ...ン!!". Smaller panels show violent impacts and flying bodies with SFX "ドゴア" and "ビッ". Bonney's hand reaches out desperately. "I'M SORRY, FATHER." Narration reads, "THE LIFE YOU FOUGHT SO HARD TO GIVE ME HAS..." More close-ups capture trembling hands, scattered debris, and final impacts.
