At the Ship Scrapyard, Navy Branch 61, massive armored hulls lie crumpled and caved in. A voice observes, "NOW THAT YOU MENTION IT, IT DOES LOOK LIKE THEIR ARMORED HULLS HAVE BEEN CAVED IN WITH PUNCHES..." Another exclaims, "YOU MEAN LIKE PUNCHING BAGSI" and "BATTLESHIP BAGS"I! Someone shouts, "WHO DID THISI!" while another yells, "BEAT UP BATTLESHIPSI!" In the next panels, characters discuss the scene. One states, "THAT'S AOKIJI'S HANDIWORK. THE FORMER ADMIRAL WAS GARP'S PROTÉGÉ." Another asks, "WHAT ABOUT THE SECOND ONEI" A figure replies, "HUHI! HE'S STILL DOING ITI!" The narration explains, "VICE ADMIRAL GARP. EVER SINCE HIS YOUTH, HE MADE THIS PART OF HIS DAILY ROUTINE. THE RULES WERE NO HAKI OR FRUIT ABILITIES ALLOWED WHILE WORKING ON THE 'BATTLESHIP BAGS.'" A close-up shows a man with sunglasses declaring, "IT'S A STRENGTH YOU HAVE TO EARN!!" and "JUST GOES TO SHOW THAT NO ONE'S BORN A HERO..."

On Hachinosu (the Pirate Island) in the New World, a massive skull-shaped structure looms over the town as chaos erupts. A figure is sent flying with the cry "UWAA AAA!!" and impact sounds "ドドド" and "ドンッ". Observers shout, "WE GOTTA PULL HIM UP QUICK!! HE'LL DROWN!!" and "BUT HOWI!" Another notes, "HE SENT SAN JUAN WOLF FLYING!" while someone adds, "GARP'S SCARY!!" In the lower panels, a large man with a beard roars, "HEAVY DRINKER HEARTH-FIRE!!" as flames and debris fly. A smaller figure watches and remarks, "SO THIS IS THE 'LEGENDARY HERO'I"

The giant skull on Hachinosu opens its jaws wide, unleashing destruction across the pirate town. A voice yells, "YOU BASTARD, ARE YOU TRYING TO DESTROY PIRATE ISLANDI! GAAARP!!" while another screams, "PIRATE JACK-O-LANTERN!!" People cry out, "OWW, HOT! STOOOP!!!" and "UWAA!!" as explosions and fire engulf the area with sounds like "ビシッ" and "ドゴォン!!!" A man in a "FIGHT" shirt is blasted backward. One pirate growls, "WHAT A TERRIFYING GEEZER!!" while another notes, "HE'S TOTALLY OUTNUMBERED AND HE ISN'T EVEN FLINCHING!!" A desperate voice shouts, "...CAPTAIN TEACH'LL KILL US!!" as the town burns and figures flee in panic, with one warning, "IF THE TOWN BURNS DOWN..."

A massive Marine battleship sails away from the ruined island of Hachinosu as waves crash and smoke rises. A skull-adorned figurehead looms while narration states, "AND ALL THE RESCUED SLAVES ARE ON BOARD. THE WOUNDED..." Someone shouts, "COME IN, VICE ADMIRAL GARP!!" On deck, Marines tend to the injured. "IS CAPTAIN KOBY OKAYI!" cries one. "HIBARI-CHAN, HANG IN THERE!!" another calls. "WE NEED TO THAW THE FROZEN PEOPLE OUT SLOWLY!!!" orders a third. "WE'RE SETTING SAIL!!" announces a Marine in a cap marked M. Below, Garp stands tall amid chaos, fist raised. "KOBY!! GRUS!! HELMEPPO!! IT'S TIME TO GO! WE'RE DONE HERE!" he bellows. "YES, SIR!!" the young Marines reply. "YOU CAN PULLOUT WHEN YOU'RE READY!!" Garp adds. A large text box declares, "HACHINOSU LIVES UP TO ITS REPUTATION!! THERE'S NO END TO ALL THESE PIRATES!!"

Garp faces Kuzan on the deck amid flying debris and smoke. "GARP-SAN!!" someone yells. Kuzan replies calmly, "LIKE I SAID, I CAN'T JUST LET YOU LEAVE." Explosions rock the background. Marines shout warnings: "WE CAN'T UNDERESTIMATE THE TITANIC CAPTAINS!" "YOU STILL WANNA GO, KUZANI!" "HEY, GARP-SAN, AM I ALSO 'THE FUTURE OF THE MARINES'I! I SHOULD'VE GONE WITH THE OTHERS!! WE'RE DOOMED!!" Garp stands firm as Kuzan and others react with heavy breathing. In close-up, Garp growls orders: "DON'T DIE ON ME, YA HEARI! HEAD STRAIGHT TO THE COAST, AND YOU'LL BE FINE!! LISTEN UP, YOU THREE!!" The three young Marines salute, "YES, SIR!!"

Panic erupts on the battlefield. "WE ALMOST LEFT YOU BEHIND!!" "I'M COMING!!" "OH NO, THEY STILL HAVE A HOSTAGE!!" "ITI" "GYAH HA HA!!" "AAAAH! SOMEONE HELP!!" A masked figure lunges. "KOBY, YOU IDIOT! IT'S A TRAP!!" someone screams. In a sudden strike, a blade pierces flesh. "UWAA!!" cries the victim as blood sprays. "SPLURT!!" reads the impact sound. The attacker drives the sword deeper while the victim gasps, "...!!" Debris and motion lines fill the chaotic panel.

Garp reels from the surprise attack, eyes wide. "WHATI!" he roars. "NGH!!" A close-up shows Shiryu's grinning face. The blade drives deeper into Garp's torso amid shattering rocks. "EAT THIS!!" Shiryu snarls. "ARGH!!" Garp howls in pain. Onlookers react in horror: "HE STABBED IRON GARP!!" "IT'S SHIRYUU-SAN!!" "WOOO AAH!!" "HE WAS INVISIBLEI!" "THAT PUNK FROM IMPEL DOWNI" Shiryu smirks, "SHIRYUU!!" and chuckles, "FUFU..." as Garp collapses, bloodied and weakened.

Marines swarm around the battered Garp as he shields Koby. "I WAS IN HIS SIGHTS THE WHOLE TIME!!" one shouts. Another yells, "DON'T FLATTER YOURSELF, KOBY!!" Koby cries out desperately, "YOU WERE PROTECTING ME...!!! BUT... IT'S MY FAULT!!" Garp roars back, "THIS IS NOTHING!! GO TO THE SHIP!! GARP-SAN!!" A marine commander orders, "GET HIM!! KILLING HIM IS AN INSTANT TICKET TO WEALTH AND GLORY!!" Another warns, "GARP'S VULNERABLE!! WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO TAKE HIM OUT NOW!!" Garp smashes through the attackers with raw power, sending bodies flying amid explosions and debris. A marine taunts, "YOU GUYS WOULDN'T STAND A CHANCE... EVEN IF WE BOUND BOTH HIS ARMS AND LEGS!!" Another sneers, "OUTTA THE WAY, SMALL FRY!!" Garp's wanted poster flashes on screen as a voice declares, "HE'S GOT A THREE CROWN BOUNTY, THE SAME AS AN ADMIRAL!! THAT'S AROUND THREE BILLION BERRIES!! MONKEY.D.GARP"

Garp's face twists in fury as he activates his technique. "ICE GLOVE!!" he bellows. Kuzan watches nearby with a calm expression. Garp shouts at the marines, "GET LOST!!" A female marine retorts, "THEY'VE TAUGHT ME ALL THEY CAN. I'M READY FOR THE NEXT LEVEL! MAKE ME YOUR DISCIPLE!!" A male marine adds, "GO LEARN FROM ONE OF THE NAVY'S INSTRUCTORS! I LIKE MY FREEDOM, THANKS. TAKE YOU ON AS A DISCIPLEI" Garp counters, "I COULDN'T USE IT EVEN IF I WANTED TO..." as he delivers devastating blows. "THIS IS TRAINING!!" he yells amid impacts. "...RE-MEMBER, NO HAKI!!" The scene shifts to distant destruction as Garp roars, "MY SON BECAME A REVOLUTIONARY!! DAMMIT!!" Sound effects echo: "BAM!! BAM!! THUD...!! BAM!! POW... BAM!!"

Garp and Kuzan clash in close combat. Garp growls, "SOME TEA, THEN! I'M AN ADMIRAL NOW, REMEMBER! I'M BUSY! LET'S GO GET A BITE TO EAT!!" Kuzan replies coolly, "KUJAN!! WHY'RE YOU TELLING MEI" Garp continues, "AND NOW MY GRANDSON SAYS HE'S GONNA BE A PIRATE! I WON'T STAND FOR IT!" Kuzan retorts, "MY BONE-HEADED PUPIL. WE'RE THROUGH... YOU HAVE A HABIT OF RAISING ENEMIES." The fight erupts violently as Garp lands a massive punch, shattering the environment with explosive force and debris flying everywhere.

A massive explosion rocks the island as Garp's attack lands. "KYAAA AAAH!!" screams echo amid flying rubble. "UWAA AAAH!" A marine cries out, "VICE ADMIRAL GARP!!" Garp stands amid the chaos, glaring. On the island, a pirate leader laughs maniacally, "NYAA HA HA HA HA HA!! YOU BASTARDS ARE NYAHT GETTIN' AWAY!!" He activates his power, "DON'T UNDERESTIMATE MY ISLAND-ISLAND FRUIT!! THIS IS HACHINOSU! YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE POKED THE PIRATE HIVE IF YOU DIDN'T WANNA GET SWARMED!" Garp grunts, "URGH..." as debris rains down and the battlefield erupts in destruction.

A massive black hand erupts from the sea, its fingers curling like claws over a Marine battleship as the island itself seems to twist and rise. Civilians scream in panic aboard the vessel. "DON'T DO IT! PLEASE!" "NO..." "THERE ARE INNOCENT CIVILIANS ON BOARD!!" A desperate voice cries, "...KOBY..." In the foreground, Monkey D. Garp's face twists in fury, veins bulging as he roars, "DON'T LOSE YOUR HEAD...!!" and "JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL!" The narration box declares, "VICE ADMIRAL GARP AND HIS SQUAD OF RISING STARS..." "...FAIL TO RESCUE THE HERO, CAPTAIN KOBY." The giant hand belongs to Avalo Pizarro, whose skull-like face emerges from the rock formation, mouth open in a roar amid heavy SFX ゴゴゴゴ. A Marine ship rocks violently in the waves. Hibari, headset on and face streaked with sweat, pants heavily while shouting, "HIBARI!!" and "I'M SORRY... ALL I DID WAS GET IN THE WAY..." "WHERE'S KOBY-SENPAII" Nearby Marines react in shock: "WHAT THE HECK IS THATI!" "UWAA AHH!!" "HE'LL BE RIGHT BEHIND US." "I'M JUST GLAD YOU'RE SAFE." The narration continues, "...TO CRUSH THEIR FOOLISH PLAN!!" and "AVALO PIZARRO, FOURTH CAPTAIN OF THE BLACKBEARD PIRATES, USED HIS AWESOME NEW POWER..." Pizarro's bearded face fills a panel as he bellows, "ALL YOU SEE IN THE PAPERS IS 'BLACKBEARD THIS', AND 'BLACKBEARD THAT'!!" "TOMORROW'S HEADLINES ARE GONNA READ..."
