The Truth About That Day

A grand castle with heart-shaped domes and checkerboard patterns rises in the background as Revolutionary Army forces celebrate. A voice declares, "...EVERYTHING WE SET OUT TO DO." Another adds, "WE ACCOMPLISHED..." In the foreground, Emporio Ivankov shouts, "WHAT DID SABO SEEI!" while Dragon stands nearby. In the next sequence, Dragon holds up three fingers and recounts their success: "AND FREED AS MANY SLAVES AS POSSIBLE. WE RESCUED KUMA-SAN... BY DESTROYING THE CELESTIAL DRAGON'S SYMBOL. WE OFFICIALLY DECLARED WAR... ALL THREE OBJECTIVES WERE TAKEN CARE OF!!" The scene shifts to a stone-walled room inside the castle where Ivankov, Dragon, and another figure sit at a table. Ivankov notes, "IT WAS NOTHING TO SNEEZE AT... BUT WE GOT THE WORLD'S ATTENTION, AND THE NAVY ENDED UP SENDING IN THE BIG GUNS..." Dragon replies, "SO WHAT WAS THE FALLOUTI" The third man states, "THE HOLY LAND'S FOOD RESERVES. FINALLY, WE MANAGED TO FIND AND DESTROY..."

Ivankov reacts with fury, yelling, "BUT ONE OF THEM VANISHED! THE KINGDOM OF LULUSIA!!" while clenching his fists. Dragon, with a serious expression and hand near his chin, responds, "VELL, YOU SAY EIGHT WERE SUCCESSFUL... EIGHT OF WHICH WERE SUCCESSFUL. WHERE WE HELD STRONG INFLUENCE. MEANWHILE, WE TRIGGERED UPRISINGS IN 12 NATIONS..." Back at the table, Dragon continues explaining their strategy: "TO STOP RESOURCES FROM REACHING MARY GEOISE! ON TOP OF THAT, THE REVOLUTIONARY ARMY IS ATTACKING GOVERNMENT SUPPLY CARRIERS ALL OVER THE WORLD... THEIR INTENT TO NO LONGER PAY THE CELESTIAL TRIBUTE OR COMPLY WITH THE EXPLOITATIVE EXPORTING OF THEIR RESOURCES. THE HEADLINES CENSORED EVERYTHING, BUT THE SEVEN OTHERS HAVE ALL DECLARED..." Ivankov adds with a dramatic pose, "THEY SAY THE HOLY LAND'S HIGH UP LOCATION... MAKES IT AN IMPENETRABLE FORTRESS..."

Dragon declares with intense eyes, "THEY'LL FINALLY GET A TASTE OF WHAT IT IS TO LIVE IN POVERTY! AND GO HUNGRY!! BUT WE'LL SEE HOW THEY LIKE LIVING UNDER SIEGE!" Ivankov bursts into laughter, "HEE HAW!!" while striking a triumphant pose with arms raised. He continues, "INDEED. WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO CUT OFF ALL THEIR SUPPLIES... BUT WE'RE SQUEEZING THEM SLOWLY BUT SURELY. THEY MUST BE STRUGGLING BY NOW! THAT'S WHAT I CALL A RESULT!" Dragon looks on with a grim expression and states, "GOD'S KNIGHTS. AS EXPECTED, THEY'RE NOT A FOE WHO WILL JUST TAKE ALL THIS LYING DOWN. OUR REAL BATTLE WILL START WHEN THEY MOBILIZE..."

Sabo, face scarred and sweating, insists, "I'M NOT TOO HOT ON THAT NAME... IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT THE TRUTH BEHIND KING COBRA'S ASSASSINATION IS... THE NEWS REPORTS HAVE MADE YOU A HERO ALREADY." Across from him, a wild-haired man with a crown-like hat and ornate coat leans in aggressively, declaring, "YOU REALIZE YOU WILL BE THEIR NUMBER ONE TARGET, RIGHT, SABOI! OR SHOULD I START CALLING YOU FLAME EMPEROR BOYI!" The man continues pouring drinks, noting, "WHILE THERE ARE CERTAINLY MANY MALIGNANT, POWER HUNGRY DESPOTS WHO DESERVE THAT REPUTATION... THERE ARE ALSO A NUMBER OF INTELLIGENT AND FAIR RULERS TOO. IN THE EYES OF REVOLUTIONARIES EVERYWHERE, AUTHORITY FIGURES WITHIN THE WORLD GOVERNMENT ARE HATED FOR BEING SUBHUMAN MONSTERS." In a wide panel showing a grand palace under clouds, the man adds, "UNFORTUNATELY, MISINFORMATION SPREADS FASTER THAN NUANCES LIKE THAT. THIS MIGHT BE COLD TO SAY, BUT WHILE I FEEL BAD FOR WHAT HAPPENED TO KING COBRA... AND ARABASTA'S KING COBRA WAS IN A CLASS OF HIS OWN. EVERYONE CONSIDERED HIM TO BE AN OUTSTANDING SOVEREIGN."

Sabo, seated on the floor, replies while gulping, "THEN SPIT IT OUT ALREADY!!" as a cup slams down with "GULP" and "SLAM" effects. A large newspaper headline reads "KING COBRA ASSASSINATED" with a dramatic illustration of the attack; Sabo questions, "IS THERE ANY TRUTH BEHIND THIS SCOOPI! WHAT REALLY HAPPENED...I!" IT'S THE FOUR CAPTAINS!! THEY BLEW UP THE STOREHOUSE! THE INTRUDERS ARE WITH THE REVOLUTIONARY ARMY!!" One figure yells, "GET OUT HERE AND HELP US, YOU LOUSY BUREAUCRATS!!" Later panels show enraged World Nobles demanding, "AFTER THAT, SUMMON ALL THOSE DREADFUL BODYGUARDS AND HAVE THEM EXECUTED! THOSE MISERABLE WRETCHES ALLOWED THIS TO HAPPEN ON THEIR WATCH! A Celestial Dragon loses his gun, screaming "MY GUN! WAH!" while an attacker swoops in with "SWOOP" effects. In the chaos, a soot-covered figure mutters "MUTTER" amid "GROWING SOOT!" and impact sounds "ドドドドドド!!" as more nobles react in terror.

Explosions rock the city as Revolutionary Army forces clash with defenders. A panicked voice yells, "IT'S THE REVOLUTIONARY ARMY!!!" Another replies, "WHATI ERR... OKAY!" A large bearded man in a top hat gestures urgently, shouting, "ESCAPE TO THE EAST OF THE CITY..." In the streets below, armed men in suits fire wildly while one commands, "BLAST HIM TILL THERE'S NOTHING LEFT!" and "GET SAINT PLUMING TO SAFETY!" Lindbergh, Southern Captain of the Revolutionary Army, grins from a high vantage as the city burns, noting, "THEY'RE REALLY GOING AT IT OVER THERE." Below, fighters clash violently. One growls, "CROW..." while another shouts, "THEY'RE HEADED THIS WAY. HURRY UP AND RELEASE EVERYONE!" and "LEAVE IT TO ME!" Karasu, Northern Captain of the Revolutionary Army who ate the Soot-Soot Fruit, unleashes a massive soot attack, sending enemies flying with a cry of "OBELI-SOOT!" and "UWAA AAAH!!" A massive mechanical strike labeled "RENKON!!" smashes through structures. On the ground, revolutionaries urge, "HURRY UP! GATHER AT THE EAST SIDE OF THE CITY!" and "WE'RE GONNA GET YOU OUTTA HERE, OKAY!" while civilians cry, "THANK YOU SO MUUUUCH!!" and "T...THANK YOU SO MUCH!" A laser attack fires with the shout, "LASER-SHOOTER!!"

Morley, Western Captain of the Revolutionary Army, rampages in a massive form, laughing, "OH MY! THIS BOY SURE LIKES TO PLAY ROUGH!" and "YOU'RE THE ONES DESTROYING THE CITY!" A voice warns, "FUJITORA, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOINGI!" while another snaps, "I'M CALLING IN A METEOR STRIKE." and "DON'T BE AN IDIOT, THAT'S A TERRIBLE IDEA!" The scene shows two admirals present as the city is torn apart. A dragon-like strike lunges forward with "JUST COUGH UP WHERE YOUR LEADER WENT OFF TO!!" and "YOU SHOULDN'T SNIFF AROUND AND STALK PEOPLE, YOU DIRTY LITTLE PERV!" Onlookers react with panic: "UWAAA AAAAA!!" and "YO-YO!!" "CHAPAPA!" He replies, "IT WON'T BE LONG!" Below, chaos erupts at the public courtyard where a massive figure looms over a smaller one. A voice exclaims, "WHAT THE HELLI!" while another declares, "I JUST SPOTTED HIM WITH THAT DUMB FATHER AND SON SAINT DUO, ROSWARD AND CHARLOS..." A grotesque figure laughs, "I'LL MAKE HER MY PET... HE HASN'T GIVEN UP ON GETTING SHIRAHOSHI..." Sabo, identified as Chief of Staff of the Revolutionary Army, reacts with shock, "WHATI!" Elsewhere, a bandaged man huffs, "HUFF! HUFF!" as a woman with pigtails smiles and says, "OKEY-DOKEY!" A fierce woman with a headband clenches her fist, yelling, "FATHER!" while Morley commands, "MORLEY, MAKE SURE EVERYTHING'S READY!" and another replies, "YEAH, WE WON'T LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT. I WON'T FORGIVE THEM FOR USING KUMA-SAN LIKE THIS!"

In the upper panels, a scarred man with a goatee reacts in shock, exclaiming, "YOU DIDN'TI!" A blonde woman with a scar on her face shouts back, "OH, WAIT...
