In a striped tower overlooking the clouds, a leopard-mink named Pedro stands with a serious expression. A voice remarks, "THAT'S A PRETTY DEPRESSING NAME!" Another asks, "DOES IT REFER TO THE NIGHTI" A translator note reads "t/n: NOX = NIGHT IN LATIN." Pedro replies firmly, "BOY! YOU'VE GOTTA STAY ON STANDBY FOR NOW!" The long-haired mink Carrot responds, "THAT THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS AN ENDLESS NIGHT. I GUESS IT MEANS..." A fierce tiger-mink with a sword roars, "ROGER! LORD ODEN! ALLOW ME TO ACCOMPANY YOU!" Pedro explains with intensity, "IN OTHER WORDS, NOX, THE NIGHT, REALLY MEANS THIS:" as Carrot cries out in shock, "PEDRO! THEY SAY... ROGER'S DEAD!" Pedro declares, "LISTEN UP. EVERYONE, SOONER OR LATER, GETS THEIR OWN TIME TO SHINE! MY TIME IS LIMITED!"

Pedro continues with resolve, "WELL, I COULDN'T ASK FOR ANYTHING MORE. IF I CAN SERVE AS THE FOUNDATION FOR THE WORLD THAT THE MASTERS AWAIT, AND I SHOULD HAVE TIME ENOUGH TO DO JUST THAT." The narration states, "THE DARK BEFORE THE DAWN." A massive explosion erupts from the sea near candy-shaped ships, sending black smoke and debris flying. Pedro's voice echoes desperately, "PE-DRO!"

Luffy stares in disbelief, sweat flying, muttering "NO WAY... BROTHER PEROS!" Carrot screams with tears streaming, "PEDRO!" Luffy shouts again, "PEDRO!" A massive blast rocks the area with "GOBB!" and "GBB!" sounds as a mink is engulfed in smoke. Someone yells, "HIS CANDY'S MELTING AWAY!" The explosion continues violently with "Z!!" and "GGLU HHH!" effects as a spotted figure is hurled through the air.

A massive splash erupts as a ship and figures tumble into the sea amid "DORO!!" and "SPLASH!" effects. Perospero stares in shock, "WHAT CRAZY... PEDRO!" Onlookers cry, "LORD PEROS-PERO! THE FIRST-BORN, WAS HE BROUGHT DOWN WITH THE EXPLOSIONI!" Carrot screams desperately, "PEDROOO!!" while waving her arms, "NO, CARROT!" Luffy surfaces coughing and laughing, "BUWAAAH! I THOUGHT I WAS GONNA DIE! BUHEHO! GAHGAH! YOU GUYS!"

Preparations are complete! Can we fly, Nami! Luffy dashes across the deck as the ship begins to lift. Nami and Carrot stare in shock and relief. Until just now, the chance we would get out of this safely was 0%! He saved us! The Thousand Sunny rises into the air amid clouds and scaffolding. We're off, men! A massive polka-dotted figure looms below, roaring, If we let this second go to waste, as the ship pulls away from the island structures.

Luffy's face fills the panel, eyes blazing. We'll never be able to face Pedro again! Tell me what to do! I'll do it! Set bearings to northwest! Fire Coup de Burst! Chopper, Brook! You guys consciousI Leave the sails as they are! HuhI! JinbeI! The Sunny rockets forward over the sea. Getting all fired up... Every last one of you bastards... Uuugh... as Luffy powers up with mochi-like energy swirling around him.

Enemy ships close in. How dare you hurt Lord Perospero! All ships, aim for the enemy vessel, and prepare to fire! Carrot clashes with a swordsman. Carrot will become a great swordswoman under me, Pedro! Don't butt in, Pedro! She isn't cut out for the sword. Get out of here, Big Mom Pirates! Electrical! Carrot transforms, crackling with electricity. And wait! Everyone, sooner or later, gets their own time to shine! Doesn't matter how you do it, become a strong warrior, as the leopard mink and others react.

Big Mom's massive face fills the panel as she reacts with wide eyes. Below, the sea battle rages with ships exchanging fire and massive "ズ" sound effects shaking the air. In a close panel, Big Mom glares intensely and declares, "I SEE... YOU'RE RIGHT; IF YOU DO THAT, I WON'T BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING ELSE!" Luffy's determined face appears as the giant fist collides with her, sending shockwaves and motion lines across the page.

Explosions rock the flying ship as crew members shout "WAAH!", "WAH!", "YAHOO!", "STOP STOP!", "GYAAH!", and "WHOOA!" while "FIRE!" rings out. A voice warns, "UNDERSTANDING IT ISN'T GONNA HELP YOU DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!" The vessel tilts wildly through clouds and waves. Big Mom's massive form clings to the side as she yells "WEEE EEEEDDI IIIING... BIG MOM!" A woman with a bun hairstyle shouts "WAIT! WHERE IS IIIIITI!" while the ship continues its chaotic flight.
