The Kozuki Line

A small flying creature with spots carries a person through the sky while voices call out: "WE'RE LOOKING UP FROM THIS HIGH IN THE SKY AFTER ALL." "STOP IT, THAT'S A LITTLE TOO HIGH DON'T YOU THINKI!" "I REFUSE TO STOP SHOWING HIM THIS SCENERY!!!" Below, a tall man with a topknot and stern face holds a small child on his shoulders as the child laughs with arms raised: "UP UP YOU GO~!" "UP UP YOU GO~!" Memories flood in. A bald man with wide eyes exclaims, "MAKE SURE YOU ENGRAVE THIS SCENE IN YOUR MIND, AS IT'S SOMETHING THAT EVEN WANO DOESN'T POSSESS!!" while a young girl with long hair watches. The tall man shouts, "HIYORI!!" and "MOMO - NOSUKE!! THIS IS THE WORLD!" A man in a large hat adds, "MOMO, YOU HAVE TO THINK OF HUMANS AS CHIKUWA AND CUT THEM DOWN IN ONE FELL SWOOP!!!" Another asks, "MOMO! WHAT TYPE OF GIRLS DO YOU LIKEI" A figure in a straw hat says, "HOW WAS YOUR TRIPI DID YOU HAPPEN TO STOP BY ON ZOU BY ANY CHANCEI" and "IF I WERE TO SUM UP OUR WHOLE JOURNEY, THEN YES." A note reads: CHIKUWA = (A TUBE-SHAPED FISH-PASTE CAKE).

The tall man with the topknot points forward intensely: "PUT THAT IN YOUR HEAD, GUYS!! WHEN THE TIME COMES, WE MUST GO TO ZOU!!" "ZOU AND THE KOZUKI CLAN WERE HISTORICALLY VERY LINKED." "MINKS ARE POWERFUL WARRIORS..." In another scene, he plays a shamisen while a young girl listens: "I REALLY LIKE THIS PIECE!" "IT'S 'THE PRINCESS OF THE MOON'!" One figure pants, "HUFF HUFF." In a dramatic clash, a young swordsman with dark hair swings multiple blades in a flurry of motion lines and impact effects, striking down enemies as a woman with dark hair fights beside him. An enemy cries, "AARGH!!!" and another reacts, "!!I" The young swordsman lands, breathing heavily, "HUFF HUFF..." A voice calls out, "YOU'RE WELCOME!!" "THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE SWORDS, SHINOBU!!"

Kin'emon declares firmly, "WE ALL DECIDED TO BECOME VASSALS WITHOUT BEING INVITED!! IT'S FOR YOU TO CHOOSE!!" A blonde woman shouts "YES!!" while another panel shows her reacting with tears. Someone calls out, "CAN I CONSIDER MYSELF A KOZUKI VASSALI!" and "HEY, MASTER KIN!!" In the lower section, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi argue fiercely with a massive horned beast-like figure. One voice accuses, "WOULDN'T YOU BE THE SPY ABOUT WHOM KAIDO SPOKE, BY ANY CHANCE, DOGI!!" Another retorts, "YOU ARE A BIT DISLOYAL TO WORRY LIKE THAT ABOUT WHAT THE ENEMIES THINK!!" and "IT'S LIKE YOU WERE THE ONE WHO KILLED LORD ODEN, YOU MORON CAT!!" Inuarashi and Nekomamushi yell, "INUARASHI, NEKOMAMUSHI, CALM DOWN!!" while the beast warns, "LOOK BEHIND YOU!!" Chaos erupts as fighters clash; voices shout "DON'T HELP THEM, WE DON'T HAVE TIME!!" "WHAT IS THAT THINGI!" "INU, NEKO!! BUNCH OF FOOLS!!" and "OUAH!! AAH!!"

A massive creature roars "SHIT!!!" as Denjiro and Ashura fight through pursuers. Denjiro shouts, "DENJIRO, ASHURA!!" Ashura replies, "OK!!" while a voice pleads, "HELP ME, ASHURA! WE HAVE TOO MANY PURSUERS!!" The scene shifts to a burning town labeled "KURI" with a castle engulfed in flames; someone yells, "BURN IT DOWN!!" and "THEY ARE SURROUNDED!!" A young boy is lifted high by a giant hand amid destruction, screaming in terror. A woman with a flower in her hair comforts a child, saying, "YOU CAN RUN AWAY!!" and "NOTHING TO FEAR, I'LL SEND YOU AWAY." The child cries, "NO... MOTHER!!" as the background shows bodies and ongoing battle with sound effects "バキ バキ".

Young Momonosuke clings desperately to a castle ledge, shouting, "I'M GOING TO FALL, IT'S HIGH, I'M AFRAID, I'M GOING TO DIE!!" A stern man with a scar demands, "YOUR NAMEI" while Momonosuke gasps, "... PFFF...!! UGH!" and "PFF PFF". The man continues, "YOUR FATHER IS... THE 'IDIOT LORD'." Momonosuke reacts with shock, "IP" and sound effects "ドドドドド!!". A woman with a flower hairpin states calmly, "YOUR FATHER IS FAMOUS... AND ONE DAY..." Momonosuke sobs, "HI-C...!!!" and "NO...". The scarred man growls, "THE 'KOZUKI' NAME WILL DIE WITH YOU". In a flashback, young Oden stands on a boat declaring, "SOMEDAY I WILL BE!! AND ME...!! THE ONE THAT WILL RULE THIS COUNTRY!" while a narrator notes, "A GREAT WARRIOR... FATHER IS...!!".

Momonosuke screams with all his might, "FATHER!!!" with tears and sound effects "あぁぁぁ". Narration reflects, "NOT HIS OWN DREAM. WHAT A IMMATURE KID.. A DREAM THAT HIS PARENTS OR SOMEONE FORCED TO SAY." The burning castle is attacked by a dragon-like entity; voices command, "BURN ALONG WITH THE CASTLE!" and "THAT PATHETIC BRAT IS ODEN'S SON..". Oden appears in the chaos. Below, allies rush in: one shouts, "THANK GOD YOU'RE ALL OK!" while another calls, "LADY TOKI!!" and "LORD MOMONOSUKE!!! LADY HIYORI!!" as fighters clash with swords amid smoke and debris.

A woman with long dark hair and a flower holds a small child close. She speaks calmly, "I NEED TO TELL YOU SOMETHING." Nearby, a voice calls out, "ALL OF YOU... COME HERE!" In the next moment, chaos erupts as the woman is struck and sent flying, shouting "PLEASE HOLD ON A LITTLE BIT! PRINCESS!!" A fierce samurai-like figure with horns roars, "THE FUTUREI!!" Below, the castle grounds burn as people flee on horseback. Someone yells, "SOMEONE WENT OUT, FIRE! HI HIII!!!" Orders ring out: "DON'T LET THE SAMURAIS ESCAPE! WATCH THE CASTLE'S EXIT!!" A small figure with a straw hat tumbles through the smoke and debris amid the flames and panic.

A cloaked figure huffs heavily while fleeing through the forest at night. Horses gallop past as voices ask, "WHO IS ITI IT'S NOT A SAMURAI," with sound effects "PATA CLOP PATA CLOP." In Kuri, a grandmother comforts a scared child, "GRANDMA, I'M SCARED. THIS IS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER NIGHTS! IT'S GETTING DARK. THE NIGHT IS COMING." The burning castle fills the background. People cry out in despair, "WE ARE BEING PUNISHED FOR NOT BELIEVING IN THEM! THIS WILL BE THE START OF A 'FOREVER NIGHT'— DARK TIMES WHERE THE SUN WILL NO LONGER RISE! THE KOZUKI FAMILY.. LORD ODEN! IT'S THE END.."

A woman gasps as narration declares, "NINE SHADOWS WILL BRING A BLINDING SUNRISE! THE HOPE THAT AFTER 20 YEARS OF ENDLESS MOONLIT NIGHTS, MAY YOUR WISH COME TRUE..." Lady Toki falls, crying "LADY TOKI!!" In the present, Orochi sits in a bath with attendants. He complains, "IT'S ALREADY BOILED LORD OROCHI. IT'S NOT HOT! YOU WANT ME TO GO INTO ROOM TEMPERATURE WATERI I TOLD YOU TO BOIL THE WATER!!" Elsewhere, a group searches desperately: "I CAN'T STOP SHAKING. BRING THE BONES OF THE KOZUKI SAMURAI!! WHY CAN'T WE FIND THEM! SHUT UP, I'M COLD! BE CAREFUL OR YOU WILL BURN! IT'S HOT! THE WATER IS VERY HOT. AOUTCH!!"

A figure on a rooftop shouts, "I NEED PROOF THAT THEY ARE DEAD!!" with dramatic sound effects. A young girl with dark hair cries under a tree, "..." while a kappa-like figure dances, "PRINCESS~ SEE THIS KAPPA DANCE~ ♪" Lady Toki asks, "WHAT IS THIS" as the creature replies, "LADY TOKI.. 20 YEARS ABOUT.. ARE THEY ALIVEI" The scene shifts to intense reactions: a monstrous face twists in pain with "FRRRRH.....!! GUHUUUH.....!!" and others scream "GUH....!!! WOA AAAH!!! WOA AAAH!!!" as the burning castle looms in the background.

A long-haired man with a scar is grabbed from behind as a hand clamps down hard. "TAG!" Large impact SFX explode around them. In the snowy town streets below, a cloaked figure walks past buildings while locals react. "ARE YOU FROM AROUND HEREI" "HEY YOU LOOK FILTHY!" A wide view shows the bustling Flower Capital at dusk with lanterns and a large gate. Close-up on the scarred man's intense face as he growls "KYO-SHIRO...!!" Another man with a topknot stares and mutters "HMM.." while two figures approach from the side. "WHAT'S YOUR NAMEI" "TAKE ME AS YOUR UNDERLING!"

Kyoshiro smirks confidently. "IT WOULD BE AN HONOR SHOGUN OROCHI." A fierce man with a topknot shouts "YOU WANT TO PROTECT MEI" "I'VE HEARD A LOT!" A massive crowd gathers in the streets as the name "KYOSHIRO FAMILY..." spreads. Onlookers react in shock: "HE IS SO SHARP AND SKILLED!" "THAT GUY IS AMAZING WHO IS THAT!" Kyoshiro lounges and declares "I WILL TAKE CARE OF AND BE IN CHARGE OF EVERYTHING YOU NEED. MONEY, WOMEN, ARMY." The crowd cheers "HAHAHA!" while gossip continues: "HE ALWAYS LOOK SO TIRED," "HE DOES HAVE ONE WEAKNESS!" "HE MUST PARTY THROUGH THE NIGHT!" "HIS NICKNAME IS 'NAPPING KYOSHIRO'!" A wide scene shows Kyoshiro standing tall in the capital as the narration states he is now protected by the Kyoshiro Family and positioned to replace Hyogoro in the Flower Capital.

A small child with a headscarf glares angrily, SFX "ババババ!!" Night falls over the capital under a full moon. "HE STOLE THE MONEY FROM MY SAFE!" "IT'S THE WITCHING HOUR BOY!" A fish-man-like figure panics on the ground, crying "WHERE DID YOU GO!" while voices scream "LADY HIYORI!!!" in the darkness. A cloaked figure runs through the night. In daylight, two women discuss a small figure huddled by a building. "I THINK IT'S AN ORPHAN THAT GOT MIXED INTO THE CITY." "BOSS, THIS PRETTY LITTLE GIRL WAS WANDERING IN FRONT OF THE SHOPS." "SHE LOOKS HUNGRY!!" The child sits silently as one woman asks "YOU MAY NOT RECOGNIZE ME BUT.."

Denjiro smiles and says "YES REALLY! SO THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED WITH YOU AND KAWAMATSU." A young woman with a bob cut gasps in shock, hands to her face: "REALLYII" "DENJIRO!I" She plays a shamisen while explaining "EVEN KIN'EMON AND THE OTHERS PROBABLY WON'T RECOGNIZE ME, BUT THAT'S BETTER! MY APPEARANCE WAS CHANGED BY A MONSTER CALLED 'RAGE'!" In full geisha attire with flowers in her hair, she declares "I WILL PROTECT YOU INSTEAD OF KAWAMATSU FOR NOW. UNTIL 'THE FINAL BATTLE' HAPPENS, PLEASE DO NOT LET ANYONE EVEN IN OUR ALLIES KNOW THAT IT'S ME! PLEASE GO WITH THE NAME 'KOMURASAKI'." The page ends with the One Piece logo and chapter reference.
