Loki the Patricide

A grand castle sits atop a rocky hill under a cloudy sky. Narration states: "...HE WOULD HAVE BROUGHT GREAT CALAMITY TO THE WORLD." and "IF HARALD LEFT THE CASTLE IN THAT STATE..." A caption reads: "THE WAKE OF THE FIERCE BATTLE AT OUEST CASTLE..." Inside the ruined castle halls, a bandaged man with a stern face declares: "NO MATTER HOW BADLY WE WOUNDED HIM, HIS BODY KEPT REPAIRING ITSELF." Another voice recalls: "I HAD A TASTE OF THAT HOPELESS FUTURE DURING THE FIGHT..." Rubble and debris litter the broken stone corridors. A panel shows a massive impact: "TO THINK SOMETHING ACTUALLY STOPPED HIM..." The final panels reveal a destroyed archway and scattered weapons with the line: "IT'S SHOCKING..."

A close-up of a bearded man in a helmet says: "...I GET CHILLS DOWN MY SPINE WHEN I IMAGINE WHAT WOULD'VE HAPPENED IF LOKI HADN'T BEEN HERE TODAY." In the grand hall, figures stand before a swirling mass of energy as someone asks: "JARUL...I" and "DID YOU KNOW THIS SACRED TREASURE WOULD BE THAT POWERFULI" A tall armored figure with horns replies: "YOU'VE TRULY ENDURED A MISERABLE, SQUALID LIFE UNTIL NOW, MY POOR CHILD!!" and "IF YOU HAVE ANY WISH, SIMPLY NAME IT, AND IT WILL BE WITHIN YOUR REACH." The horned figure continues: "IT'LL BE A NEW DAWN FOR ELBAF!!" A scarred man with long hair answers: "WHEN I JOIN THE GOD'S KNIGHTS,..." Suddenly Shanks appears; someone shouts: "HEY, SHANKS!!" and "SHANKSI!" Shanks yells: "STOP IT!!" while being grabbed. A voice warns: "FORGET YOUR FORMER LIFE ON THE SURFACE!! THE COMMONERS DOWN THERE DON'T EVEN COUNT AS PEOPLE!!"

A massive horned figure lies fallen amid flames and rubble. A voice cries: "...LOVE YOUR COUNTRY TOO MUCHI!" and "IS THIS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU..." Shanks, bloodied and serious, says: "YOU SHOULD NEVER RESENT THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF YOUR BIRTH. THAT'S A BAD HABIT..." Nearby, the bandaged man shouts: "HE WAS SUCH A PURE SOUL!! WHY DID HARALD HAVE TO DIEI!" and "IF ONLY I HAD BEEN FASTER..." Shanks retorts: "THIS ISN'T YOUR FAULT!!" A cloaked figure with horns lies on the ground as impact effects explode. The bandaged man yells: "THIS SUCKS!!" Shanks is told: "EVERYONE'S LIFE HAS SOME MEANING TO IT!!" and "LISTEN SHANKS, YOU ARE HERE FOR A REASON. YOU JUST GOTTA HOLD ON!!"

A towering ancient castle looms under the clouds. Narration reveals: "...ENHANCED WITH EVEN MORE POWER AND AN UNDYING BODY...!" and "HE WAS A RARE ANCIENT GIANT..." In a dim chamber a tall hooded silhouette with spiral eyes exhales "HUFF... HUFF..." while voices debate: "WHO COULD HAVE...I IS SOMETHING UNFORESEEN LURKING ON ELBAFI!" and "THOSE TRAITS MADE HIM A TRUE MONSTER......AND YET HE WAS STILL KILLEDI!" Below, on a vast staircase inside a grand hall marked with cross symbols, several cloaked figures stand before a throne. One declares, "EVERY COVENANT COMES WITH A PRICE TO BE PAID, EVEN FOR IMU." Another answers, "IT WOULD ONLY RESULT IN THE DEATH OF ANOTHER KNIGHT..." A third states, "THAT SHALL NOT BE NECESSARY." The final voice warns, "WE SHOULD HAVE THE ABYSS PENTAGRAM CARVED BY HARALD INSPECTED—"

The hooded figure continues: "AND YET, HE WAS BORN WITH THE BLOOD OF THOSE SAVAGE BATTLE-LOVING GIANTS." Portraits of Harald appear as voices recall: "HARALD WAS A TOTAL ABERRATION." "ALL HE EVER SOUGHT WAS COMMUNION WITH OTHER NATIONS AND PEOPLES." "HE HAD NO QUALMS ABOUT LOWERING HIS HEAD TO APPEASE HUMANS." "HAD WE ADMITTED HIM INTO THE GOVERNMENT FLIPPANCY, HIS VERY PRESENCE MIGHT HAVE DESTROYED IT FROM WITHIN." The discussion turns grim: "...PROVES THAT HISTORY DOES NOT LIE WE WERE ALWAYS GOING TO BE INCOMPATIBLE" "THIS DISAPPOINTING OUTCOME..." "...WAS AN UNPRECEDENTED OPPORTUNITY." "FORGING A COVENANT WITH A COOPERATIVE ANCIENT GIANT LIKE HIM..." "ELBAF SHOULD NEVER HAVE KNOWN A KING OF HIS DISPOSITION." The hooded figure’s eye widens as bold lettering declares "ELBAF IS OF THE 'D.'!!!!" followed by the ominous command "NEVER FORGET..."

Snow falls over a distant castle as a voice warns, "THE COUNTRY WILL BE IN DISARRAY." Another adds, "LOKI... AFTER THIS..." Smoke and rubble fill the next scene. A bearded man shouts, "...WHAT HAPPENED HERE!" while others ask, "TELL THE PEOPLE OF ELBAF..." "WHAT ABOUT HARALD'S FINAL REQUEST...I" A long-haired man in a wide hat replies, "I'LL TAKE THE SURVIVING SOLDIERS WITH ME." and "I'M HEADING OUT TO SEA, OLD-TIMER." On a burning staircase a horned warrior seated on rubble growls, "JUST DROP IT, ALL OF YOU!" while a cloaked figure nearby mutters, "THERE'S NO WAY I CAN TELL THEM THE TRUTH...!!"

Close-up of the long-haired horned man, face bloodied, declares, "OF WHAT HAPPENED HERE TODAY!!" and "DON'T SPEAK A WORD..." Smaller panels show him covering his face while saying, "I CAN ONLY TACKLE THIS... IN MY OWN WAY!!" A voice asks, "SAY I WERE TO BECOME KING. CAN YOU SEE ME ACTUALLY HONORING FATHER'S IDEALSI" Another answers, "IT'LL BE THE SAME AS ALWAYS!" and "IF WE SAY NOTHING, WHO DO YOU THINK THEY'LL BLAME FOR ALL THISI!" In the final panel the man grins fiercely beneath his hat: "I'LL SETTLE THE REGRETS OF THE OLD MAN AND HIS SOLDIERS. WITH THIS ABILITY...!!"

Luffy stares in shock as Loki recounts his past with raw emotion. Loki clutches his head, shouting, "IT'S NOT LIKE I WAS CRAZY! ENOUGH TO BRAG ABOUT KILLING HIM EITHER!!!" and "...BECAUSE OF HOW THINGS TURNED OUT!!! I JUST DIDN'T WANT EVERYTHING HE STOOD FOR TO BE DISMISSED..." A giant face yells, "DO YOU REALLY THINK I SHOULD HAVE TOLD THE PEOPLE EVERYTHINGI!" Luffy sweats, muttering, "GET IT ALREADYI I REALLY DIDN'T WANT TO RELIVE ALL THIS CRAP...!!" Hajrudin glares and states, "HE'S TELLING THE TRUTH, HAJRUDIN." Loki continues, "EVERYONE HAD ALREADY DUBBED ME 'LOKI THE PATRICIDE,' AND I MADE NO EFFORT TO CORRECT THAT NARRATIVE. BUT... HAJRUDIN, BY THE TIME YOU GUYS RETURNED TO THE ISLAND... AFTER THAT, I SET OUT TO SEA." Explosions rock Ouest Castle as voices cry, "SOMETHING BIG HAPPENED!!" and "OUEST CASTLE WAS ATTACKED!!!"

Hajrudin reflects, "FATHER CHOOSING DEATH IN THE FACE OF THE GOVERNMENT'S MANIPULATION... I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY YOU CHOSE TO KEEP THIS SECRET... ELDER JARUL... ALWAYS OPPOSED TO YOUR EXECUTION." Loki, chained and raging, replies, "EVEN LOKI DOESN'T KNOW ALL THE DETAILS... ABOUT FATHER'S DEALINGS IN THE HOLY LAND." He adds, "...TO ELBAF. SOME WITH DEEP TIES TO HARALD. INDEED. AND NOW, THEY'VE SENT MORE KNIGHTS... I WONDER... WHAT DID THEY DO TO FATHERI!" A scarred man growls, "WE NEED NO FURTHER REASON TO PROTECT OUR COUNTRY!!!" Loki finishes, "...OUR ENEMY ALL THIS TIME!!! THE WORLD GOVERNMENT HAS BEEN... THAT WON'T BE NECESSARY FOR NOW, YA-SAN. I CAN FILL YOU IN IF YOU WANT."

Loki turns away, saying, "FOR THE SAKE OF ELBAF... LET'S MAKE A STAND TOGETHER!!" Luffy grins widely and shouts, "LOKI. IT SEEMS WE BOTH FEEL THE SAME WAY ABOUT FATHER. YOU CAN FIGHT NOW!! THAT'S GREAT, LOKI!!!" Chains snap with "KER-CHAK!!" and "RAAAWR!!" as Loki breaks free. A massive explosion erupts across the snowy mountains with "CRAAASH!!" and "RAAAWR!!" Luffy cheers, "WOOAAH!!" while distant figures react in alarm.

Loki rampages in his horned helmet, roaring "RAAAWR!!!" and smashing through the landscape as Luffy yells, "WOOAAH!!!" A giant ship arrives with crew shouting, "WE'RE REALLY SORRY!!!" Loki snaps, "SHUT UP AND GO ALREADY!! I DON'T NEED TO HEAR YOU GUYS YAP!!" while declaring, "I CAN MOVE!! IT'S SO FREEING! THIS IS THE BEST!!" Hajrudin calls out, "HEY, LOKI!!" as the group prepares to advance. Voices urge, "HURRY IT UP, HAJRUDIN!!" "GO ON AHEAD!! I'LL JUST JUMP UP!!" and "THIS'LL BE A GOOD WARM UP..!" Luffy exclaims, "WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THATI!" while another giant asks, "WHERE DID THEY COME FROMI! ISN'T THAT A DRAUGRI!"

A massive skeletal figure in a tattered cloak swings a huge flaming sword engulfed in icy energy, shattering the air with impact lines and debris. The attack is labeled "NIFLHEIM!!" with the caption "A CHILLING ATTACK!!" A close-up shows the skeleton's skull face and the blade cracking. In smaller panels, an old man with a long beard shouts, "ALRIGHT, LET'S SHOW HIM YOUR POWER!" A small bird-like creature cries "SQUEAK!! RAGNIR!!" Sanji, carried through the air by the skeleton, yells, "YEAH! YOU MAKE A GOOD POINT!" while another figure warns, "BUT I'M WORRIED ABOUT MY SON UP THERE. HEY, DOC! I KNOW YOU WANNA TAKE CARE OF ME HERE..." The skeleton replies, "I'VE GOT IT. WEREN'T YOU TWO GONNA STAY BEHINDI" A voice calls out, "BE CAREFUL, SANJI!" Below, a shocked close-up shows a wide-eyed character gasping "WHA—I!" while Luffy stares in surprise. The hammer-wielding figure laughs "SHI SHI SHI! I'M DYING TO SEE YOU FIGHT!!" and asks, "WHAT ARE YOU STILL DOING HEREI" The bottom banner reads "ONE PIECE CH.1171" with "BREAK NEXT WEEK."
