The Adventure in God's Land

On the deck of the Going Merry, Sanji smokes a cigarette and calmly explains to a frustrated Luffy, "This boat is a few times heavier than a waver. It can't be helped!" Luffy, leaning over the rail, complains loudly, "This thing is so slow!!" Sanji retorts, "Don't be so picky!" The ship is shown being steadily towed along the winding milky road by the Special Express Crow. Off-panel voices discuss Conis's safety: "Will Conis be alright?" "Well, that strange mister didn't look like a bad guy." "We have no choice but to trust him. I'd protect her..." "But we can't bring her with us." Suddenly, the milky road leads them towards a massive, dark forest that looms ominously over the cloud river. The sheer scale of the trees is breathtaking. The crew reacts in awe to the sight: "Hey, look...!! What's that!!?" "That gigantic forest..." Luffy's voice rings out with excitement, "COOL~~~~!! Is there a forest like that on the map?"

Usopp examines a map while sitting on the deck with Luffy and Sanji. He notes, "The guy who had that map was here over 200 years ago, right? And it was probably an old map even then..." He adds, "It's just a normal forest." and "Not really... There's a forest, but it's not specially marked..." Sanji, looking ahead, observes, "It probably took more than 1000 years for these trees to grow so big!" Luffy excitedly says, "I want to climb one..." The ship approaches the forest entrance, which is flanked by two giant wooden totems topped with animal skulls and shields bearing the kanji for "God". Usopp nervously says, "This'll probably be our last chance to go back... Are you prepared, Usopp?" He answers himself, "Eh? Then if we could, I'd like to go back..." Luffy ignores his cowardice, shouting, "Let's go!!" Usopp cries, "You're not even listening to me!" A voice announces as they cross the threshold, "It's the entrance...!!!!"

Close-up panels show the intimidating skull totems at the entrance of the forest, emphasizing their eerie design. Usopp gulps nervously, a large "GOKURI...!!" sound effect highlighting his fear. As they pass through, Luffy looks eager and curious, but Usopp hears a sudden rustling sound ("GASAH!") and spots a large, dark silhouette moving in the dense trees. He panics, exclaiming "Huh!?" The ship sails into a waterway littered with the decaying remains of wrecked ships. Usopp points frantically and yells, "Uwaa... There's something out there!" Luffy casually replies, "That's 'cause this is a forest..." Usopp argues, gesturing to the debris, "No! Just look around us! Those are the wrecked ships, right!!?" Luffy stubbornly insists, "Because this is a forest!" Usopp retorts in frustration, "What's that got to do with it!!?" Crows caw ominously in the background with a "GYAH! GYAH!" sound.

Usopp continues to panic as more rustling sounds ("Gasa...") come from the dense forest canopy. "Ah... It's coming!!!" he yells, sweating profusely. Luffy calmly rationalizes, "It's because there are many different kinds of forests..." Usopp screams back, "That's not it!!!" Suddenly, Luffy points forward with a grin, "Ah! Full speed ahead!" Usopp immediately commands the crew in a panic, "Everyone paddle!! Paddle faster!! Move the ship forward!!!" Luffy looks confused and asks, "Huh!? Why, what's wrong?" Without warning, a massive scythe blade swings down from the trees, narrowly missing the ship with a loud "ZUBAN!!!". Usopp screams in absolute terror, "UGYAAAH!!!!!!!" The attacker is revealed to be a giant praying mantis monster wielding the scythes. Luffy warns the crew, "A scythe monster...!! Don't let your guard down! Another one's coming!!!"

The ship approaches a giant wooden gate mechanism built into the massive trees, complete with large gears and chains rattling with a loud "GARA GARA GARA" and "GOGOGOGO..." sound. Usopp despairs at the sight of the complex trap, muttering, "No... Not just one..." Luffy yells urgently to the crew, "Paddle as fast as you can!!!" Suddenly, giant spiked iron balls with menacing faces painted on them swing down from the canopy on thick chains, cutting through the air with a "BYUUN BYUUN" sound. The Going Merry swerves wildly on the milky road to dodge the swinging traps, water splashing with a "ZAZAZAZAZAZA!!". Usopp screams at the top of his lungs, "UWA~~~~AAH!!!!!!" as the spiked balls crash dangerously close around them. Sanji, holding onto the ship's railing to steady himself amidst the chaos, asks in bewilderment, "What the hell's going on~~?"

Luffy stretches his arms far back, preparing a powerful attack. "Gomu Gomu...!!!" he shouts. Usopp yells in panic, "Look! In front! Luffy, hit the brake!" and then realizes it's hopeless, "It's too late! Take the wheel, Usopp!!" Usopp frantically tries to steer, yelling, "Hey! Luffy! You're supposed to aim this way!" Sanji calmly advises from the side, "Don't worry, just keep moving". Luffy launches his stretched hands forward, shouting "BAZOOKA!!!" and strikes one of the giant spiked balls head-on, deflecting it with a loud explosion ("BOGAN!!"). The ship safely passes through the deadly traps. Usopp sighs in immense relief, "UHAH...!!! It's over!!! That was too close!" Sanji, however, notices something else looming ahead on the milky road and says, "Ah, but what's this!?"

Sanji looks back at the path they just took and notes, "The entrance... is already so far away..." A voice suggests, "How about we get off now?" Another replies, "Idiot!! We'll die!!" Sanji agrees, "--I was thinking the same thing." Usopp is confused by the exchange, "Eh?" Suddenly, a massive sky lamprey eel bursts out of the cloud river right next to the ship with a huge splash ("ZABAAAAN!!!"), its circular mouth full of sharp teeth wide open. Usopp screams in terror, "GYA~~~~!!!" Luffy looks at the creature and asks, "What's this? A snake?" The giant eel dives back into the clouds. Sanji explains, "It's a lamprey eel... Better yet, a sky lamprey... At such a huge size, it'll do a lot more than just suck our blood!" Usopp realizes the constant danger, "While we're on this milky road... We can't stop to catch our breath, or let our guard down... All we can do is to keep moving forward!"

The ship arrives at a massive stone wall carved with a giant, serene face. At the base of the wall are four distinct tunnel entrances. Luffy excitedly says, "Wow! This time there's a giant in our way!" Usopp corrects him, "Idiot! That's a statue... Hey, looks like it's a dead end!" Sanji points out, "No...!! There are four openings!!! Does that mean they each go to a different place!?" The four tunnels are labeled with signs above their arches: "TRIAL OF SWAMP", "TRIAL OF IRON", "TRIAL OF STRING", and "TRIAL OF BALLS". Voices read the signs aloud, pondering their meaning: "Trial of Swamp, Trial of Iron," "Trial of String, Trial of Balls." Luffy grins widely, thrilled by the prospect of a challenge, "Wow! Does it matter which one we go through? So now God wants to play a game with us...?!!"

The scene shifts abruptly to Zoro submerged underwater, looking shocked and straining as he lets out a muffled "GUAH!!". He is caught off guard. A giant striped sky shark suddenly attacks him from the side, its massive jaws biting down on him with a loud crunch ("BAGOON!!"). A voice from above yells, "There he is!" On the surface, Nami, Nico Robin, and Chopper are standing on a stone structure, looking down at the churning water in horror. Nami screams Zoro's name in panic, "ZORO!" Chopper flails his arms, his eyes wide with fear, "A shark!!! Zoro is losing to a sky shark!!!"

The water surface becomes eerily calm, with only a few bubbles rising. Chopper cries, tears streaming down his face, "Did he get eaten..!? Ah... He's not coming up..." Nami screams in despair, "GYA~~~~!! Zoro's been eaten~~!!!" Robin calmly observes the water and states, "...If he was, the cloud would be turning red by now!" Nami yells at her, "Don't say such scary things, Robin!" Suddenly, the water erupts as Zoro bursts out, delivering a powerful, bare-handed punch directly to the sky shark's head. The impact is massive, accompanied by a loud "BOGAAAN!!" sound effect. Zoro yells fiercely, "GET OUTTA MY WAY!!!!" as the shark is sent flying out of the water.

Zoro emerges from the water, panting heavily and adjusting his goggles. "HAH... HAH... DAMN! Looks like we won't be able to swim ashore... Where in the world are we?" A wide shot reveals the Going Merry stranded on top of a large, ancient stone step-pyramid, which serves as a Sacrificial Altar. The altar is surrounded by giant trees and a vast lake of clouds, with sunlight filtering through the canopy. Robin explains their situation, "All we know for certain is that this is a lake somewhere in Upper Yard. It looks like a sacrificial altar..." Chopper points out nervously, "There's a bunch more sky sharks!" One defeated sky shark floats belly-up in the water nearby with a soft "PUKA..." sound.

Zoro climbs onto the altar, shirtless and dripping wet. Nami complains, "Seems like we've been taken to a dangerous place by that damn shrimp..." Chopper is amazed by Zoro's feat, "You're a swordsman, yet you used your fist to kill a shark!" Nami adds, "Zoro's so strong--" Robin muses darkly, "...I wonder if heaven's judgement is to let us starve in this place?" Nami asks, "Would something that normal really be done by God?" Robin replies, "I don't know... I've never met him." Zoro inspects the ship and says, "--With the ship's bottom in this state, we can't put it in the water. Anyway, please try to repair it somehow, Chopper!" Chopper is surprised by the responsibility, "Eh!? Me? Understood!" Nami asks Zoro, "Repair it... So what are you going to do?" Zoro replies, "I'll enter the forest somehow, and use this place as our gathering point. Luffy and the others will come here looking for us for sure." Nami angrily yells at him, "Isn't there an old saying, 'When you're lost, stay where you are'? The one who should stay put the most is you!!!"

Zoro smirks and says, "God's on this island, right? I want to go meet him." Nami is shocked by his recklessness, "What!? Why would you want to meet someone scary like that!" Zoro replies casually, "...I dunno. That depends on him." Chopper mutters, "Zoro... is more arrogant than God--" Nami scolds Zoro, "Don't you know there are also priests here!? You mustn't anger God! This is just common sense!" Zoro smiles confidently, "Sorry. I never pray to God!" He continues, "I don't even believe in God, so why should I care!?" Chopper is amazed by his bravado, "Wow~~!!" then panics, "Oh, God! I have nothing to do with that guy!" Zoro looks up at the trees and says, "...Looks like we can use that vine." Robin agrees, "Ah... That's not a bad idea."

Robin looks at the altar and asks, "Would you mind if I joined you?" Nami replies, "Eh? OK, but don't get in my way!" Chopper is surprised, "Wait... Robin's going too!?" Robin explains, "--Take a look around! This altar is at least 1000 years old. Seeing such historical remains... makes me quite excited..." She smiles and adds, "Plus, if we find some gems or treasures, we can use them... To repair the ship." Hearing this, Nami instantly changes her tune and cheers enthusiastically, "I'm going, too!" Chopper is shocked by her sudden change of heart, "Huh!!? But didn't you say it was scary...?" Nami declares, "We're exploring history!" Chopper notes sweatdropping, "Her eyes turned into Beli..."

Zoro grabs a thick vine hanging from the trees and swings across the water, letting out a strange yell, "...UN!! AH~~~UHUN!!" Nami watches, confused, "What was that? A shout of resolve?" Zoro continues swinging, yelling, "AH--AH AH-- Waah!!! Fast... Too fast!!! I can't stop~~!!!" Nami observes the distance, "...This looks pretty high. It's probably 50 meters high. If you fall, you'll die." Chopper cries, "Don't say things like that!" Robin gracefully swings across on a vine, landing smoothly. Nami follows, landing with an "Oof!" and panting, "Hah... Hah...!! Sorry to be a bother..." Robin smiles, "My, aren't you the brave one?" Nami replies, "Don't mention it." Robin looks around the dense woods, "...This is truly a big forest..."

Zoro, Nami, and Robin stand on the forest shore, looking back at the altar. Zoro calls out, "Well then. We're leaving the ship to you, Chopper!" Robin adds, "Please take care!" Nami says, "We'll be back soon." Chopper waves from the ship, "OK! Don't worry about me!!! Come back safely!" Left alone, Chopper tries to reassure himself, "Since Zoro and Robin are with Nami, she'll be okay... I didn't go because I was scared... Someday, I want to have it, too...!! It's so cool to have such courage!" He picks up a hammer and says, "...Anyways, I have work to do! Leaving me alone in this forest to repair the ship, they must really trust me...!! That's right!! I'm alone in this dangerous place so..." Suddenly, the reality of his situation hits him. He screams in absolute terror, his eyes bulging, "I'M THE ONE THAT'S IN THE MOST DANGER!!!!"
