Ten days earlier, a monstrous mammoth breaches the gate of the Mink Tribe's city on Zou. The startled guards cry, "A mammoth!? Why is such an ancient creature..." and then sound the alarm: "We're being invaded!!!" The invaders are identified as pirates, and the minks shout for everyone to drive them out as the gate collapses under the mammoth's attack. The sudden assault turns the entrance of the peaceful country into chaos, with citizens fleeing and warriors rushing to meet the intruders.

The minks plead with the invaders, saying they have never heard of the Wano Country warrior Raizo and begging them to leave without laying waste to the country. They ask the attackers to state their name, but Jack's forces mock them: "You lot sure like to run your mouths for a buncha animals." The pirates laugh that the fabled country of the minks really does exist, while Jack's mammoth form looms over the city. The confrontation makes clear that Jack has come looking for Raizo and refuses to believe the citizens' denial.

Jack's men angrily introduce their commander, asking who the minks think they are talking to. They declare that the one before them is the great Yonko Kaido's right-hand man, "His Excellence, 'Jack the Drought'!!!" and one of the three beings labeled "the calamities." They say all land he passes through decays as if it has been through a drought. The title card identifies him as "Star of the Hundred Beast Pirates, Captain of the Mammoth, 'Jack the Drought'," establishing the scale of the threat facing Zou.

Sheepshead steps forward and demands, "Now, hand over 'Raizo'!!" while threatening the minks' happy-go-lucky, peaceful lifestyle. His title card reads: "Hundred Beast Pirates, Gifters Headliner, Sheepshead." Laughing "Geee hehehehe!!!" he asks whether the citizens really want a piece of him. The elders insist, "We would and will never lie..." and say that if Jack is looking for someone, he must patiently search around case by case, because otherwise they will get nowhere. A child cries out for the elders as the invaders keep pressing.

Jack's side shows no mercy, shouting that women, children, and even the elderly should receive none. Ginrummy asks whether they came simply to converse, and Sheepshead says they came to capture a single samurai. A subordinate corrects him that Raizo is a ninja, not a samurai, while another snaps that samurai is a catch-all term for warriors from Wano Country. Jack, still in mammoth form, smashes through buildings and scatters fighters across the city as the minks cry out under the attack, proving the pirates are not there to negotiate.

As the minks protest that they have already said Raizo is not there, Jack answers with a single demand: "Bring Raizo to me!!!" When the citizens cannot comply, he orders, "Then so be it... turn this country inside out, 'Pleasures'!!!" The title card labels the grinning soldiers as "PLEASURES," and they charge into the city with cries of "Gyaaaahahahaha!!!" The minks begin fighting back, catching the attackers off guard as the battle spreads through the streets.

The Beasts Pirates are surprised by the strength of the minks, recognizing the old man and child who had confronted them earlier and wondering what just happened. A mink explains, "This country has no 'weaklings'!!! Every single mink is a born warrior!!!" and says even infants can fend for themselves. The minks warn that if both sides fight, both armies will suffer greatly, and that the musketeers have abilities beyond words because of further training. They ask whether Jack's forces truly want every citizen as an enemy and plead for them to talk with the Duke.
Jack flatly rejects negotiation, answering "Talk...? I refuse." He orders the "Gifters" to go forth, and the title card introduces the bizarre animal-bodied soldiers as "GIFTERS." The minks stare in shock and ask, "What's with their bodies...?" while Jack's side commands them to destroy the country and find the samurai. Wanda narrates that the clash began and, before they knew it, their peaceful "Claw City" had turned into a battlefield in an instant. She says they were unable to reason with the invaders at all.

Back in the present, the Straw Hats realize that the attackers were underlings of a Yonko, specifically Kaido's. Wanda confirms it, saying they still do not understand how the invaders reached the island or why they believed a samurai would be there. Usopp angrily tells Luffy to quit being happy-go-lucky and understand why "samurai" and "Wano Country" are taboo. Luffy, however, says that if Kin'emon was talking about a mammoth, it is not there, and adds that this probably means the ninja is not there either, worrying the others.

The mention of a ninja alarms the group. Wanda asks whether by "ninja" they mean a Wano Country warrior, and whether the crew is privy to something the minks are not. Usopp frantically denies it, fumbling, "No, no, not at all!!! ...Er... inja...!!!" and says they were wondering how the injured are doing. Wanda accepts the change of subject, saying they are almost at the Duke's sanatorium and can continue the discussion later. As they arrive, Sicilian is heard in distress, and someone offers deepest apologies to "Sir Sicilian."

The group reaches the "Duke Inuarashi Sanatorium," where chaos is erupting outside and patients cry that Lord Sicilian is going mad. People shout "Waaa aaahhh!!!" and ask what on earth is happening as bodies tumble around the entrance. Wanda and the others approach while someone asks, "Lord Sicilian!? What has you so distressed?!" Sicilian, breathing hard, recognizes Wanda and complains, "No one here is showing any backbone..." The scene sets up the eccentric but loyal commander guarding the Duke's sickroom.

Sicilian storms out, saying he threw offenders into "a bottomless pit" because they spoke about sweet things. He bellows, "Kindness, love, affection, babies, sugar and honey!! Do not ever talk about anything sweet in my presence!!!" and threatens, "I'll tear your windpipes out!!! Now get back up here on your own!!!" The terrified minks apologize and promise never to speak sweetly again. His title card identifies him as "Member of the 3 Inuarashi Musketeers, Inuarashi Musketeer Squad Captain, Lion Mink, Full-Power Sicilian."

Wanda tells Sicilian that the visitors are the Straw Hat crew. Though Sicilian appears severe and is described as a bit of a stick-in-the-mud who goes all-out in everything he does, he immediately thanks them with full intensity: "I give you my deepest thanks for saving our country!! We are forever indebted to you all!!!" Chopper, Tristan, and other minks notice that Luffy and the others have arrived, and Sicilian points them toward the Duke inside, urging them to come forth because this is not the time to dilly-dally.

Inside the sanatorium, Duke Inuarashi wakes and asks whether the visitors are "The Straw Hat Crew." Wanda is relieved that he is safe, and Inuarashi thanks the crew, saying they did the minks an incredible favor and that words cannot express his gratitude. His title card reads: "Mokomo Dukedom, 'King of Day,' Duke Inuarashi." Luffy says his friends apparently saved the minks but he has not heard the whole story yet. Inuarashi replies that he was talking to all of them, including "Straw Hat Luffy," showing that he already understands who stands before him.

Luffy says Inuarashi looks strong, and another mink insists that the Duke is the country's strongest warrior. Inuarashi humbly says that is not something one can say about the defeated. Wanda objects that Jack was troublesome but that the minks had the upper hand in battle, adding, "If only Jack hadn't brought such a weapon into our country..." Nami then reveals the truth: "The weapon that destroyed this country... was Caesar's 'poison gas weapon'!!!" Luffy reacts in surprise, while Caesar nervously says, "Yeah, that's right, Luffy!" The chapter ends with the note: "OP will be on break next week!"
