At Kamabakka Queendom, Sabo reports to Dragon and Ivankov that the Revolutionary Army accomplished everything it set out to do. The three objectives were all taken care of: they officially declared war by destroying the Celestial Dragon symbol, rescued Kuma, and freed as many slaves as possible. Dragon asks about the fallout. Sabo explains that they also found and destroyed the Holy Land's food reserves. It was nothing to sneeze at because it got the world's attention, and the Navy ended up sending in the big guns. The page frames the Reverie operation as a deliberate strike on Mary Geoise's authority, resources, and image.

Dragon explains that the Revolutionary Army triggered uprisings in twelve nations where it held strong influence, and eight were successful. Ivankov replies that one of those vanished: the Kingdom of Lulusia. The headlines censored everything, but the other seven successful nations all declared their intent to stop paying the Celestial Tribute or complying with the exploitative export of their resources. On top of that, the Revolutionary Army is attacking government supply carriers around the world to stop resources from reaching Mary Geoise. Ivankov says the Holy Land's high-up location makes it an impenetrable fortress, but Sabo and Dragon's strategy is to starve its supply lines.

Ivankov grins that the Celestial Dragons will finally get a taste of living in poverty and going hungry, but that they will see how the nobles like living under siege. Dragon agrees that they may not be able to cut off all the supplies, yet they are slowly squeezing them and the enemy must surely be struggling already. He warns that the Celestial Dragons are not the kind of people to simply take all of this lying down. Dragon says their real battle will start when the World Government mobilizes "God's Knights." Shadowed figures of those knights appear, marking them as the next major threat to the Revolutionary Army's campaign.

Ivankov tells Sabo that he will be the World Government's number one target now and jokes about calling him "Flame Emperor Boy." Sabo says he is not too hot on that name. Dragon says it does not matter what the truth behind King Cobra's assassination is, because the news reports have already made Sabo a hero in the eyes of revolutionaries everywhere. Authority figures within the World Government are hated as subhuman monsters, even though Dragon admits there are malignant power-hungry despots and also intelligent, fair rulers too. He notes that Alabasta's King Cobra was in a class of his own and considered an outstanding sovereign. Sabo feels bad about what happened to him, while Ivankov laments that misinformation spreads faster than nuance.

Sabo says he can live with how everything played out if it helps fuel the flames of rebellion. Dragon and Ivankov demand that he tell them what really happened, and Ivankov says they are unshakable because they all wanted to believe in him. A newspaper spread shows the sensational report: "King Cobra assassinated," with Sabo pictured near Cobra's body. The headlines ask, "What really happened...?" and "Is there any truth behind this scoop?!" Ivankov says everyone shed tears over the accusations and desperately wanted an explanation. Sabo looks at the newspaper in silence, preparing to reveal the truth behind the false story that turned him into the Flame Emperor.

The story flashes back to over a month earlier at the Home of the Gods in the Holy Land of Mary Geoise, not long after the Reverie began. Smoke rises across the city as the Celestial Dragons scream that they are under attack and that the Four Captains of the Revolutionary Army are responsible. They shout that the intruders blew up the storehouse and took away their exquisite food, calling for the attackers to be executed. The nobles rage that the Revolutionary Army first attacked their beloved symbol and now deprived them of their supplies. The page shows the chaos and panic among the Celestial Dragons as the Revolutionary commanders begin their operation in the heart of enemy territory.

The Celestial Dragons lash out at servants and bystanders in the chaos. One yells, "You depraved snail!" while another demands to know what they would do if something happened to him. Others fire weapons and bark orders such as "My gun!" and "Who do you think you are?!" A crow made of soot strikes through the scene, and the sound effect "Crowing Soot!" marks Karasu's attack. The page captures the ugliness of the nobles, who treat people as disposable even while the Revolutionary Army's assault closes in around them. Karasu's soot crows move through the city, disarming and scattering the guards and nobles.
Guards yell that it is the Revolutionary Army and order civilians and nobles to escape to the east of the city. Some shout to get Saint Pluming to safety and to riddle the intruders with bullets, but the soot forms left by Karasu absorb the attack. A guard realizes there is really nothing left where the target stood, and another mutters, "Don't tell me he's..." The page shows Karasu's ability turning his body and attacks into shifting soot and crows, making the enemy's gunfire useless. The frightened guards watch the black shapes move through the streets while the attack continues to throw Mary Geoise into confusion.

The Revolutionary captains press the assault. Lindbergh, Southern Captain of the Revolutionary Army, looks over Mary Geoise and says the enemy is really going at it over there. Karasu, Northern Captain of the Revolutionary Army and user of the Soot-Soot Fruit, attacks with "Obeli-soot!" and "Renkon!!" while guards try to retreat. Lindbergh tells the freed people that the enemy is headed their way and orders everyone released, then uses "Laser-Shooter!!" to break restraints or defenses. People thank the Revolutionaries as they flee toward the east side of the city. The page emphasizes the rescue side of the operation: Karasu holds off forces while Lindbergh frees captives and directs them to safety.
Morley, Western Captain of the Revolutionary Army, tears through the city while shouting that the enemy are the ones destroying it. He demands that the filthy little people cough up where their leader went, while a noble cries that the boy likes to play rough. CP0 and other observers note that there are two admirals present and that if they were anywhere but the Home of the Gods, the admirals would have more than enough power to turn any battlefield upside down. Fujitora says he is calling in a meteor strike, and Ryokugyu objects that this is a terrible idea in the Holy Land. The observers conclude that even with the handicap, the Revolutionary captains are doing well to stand their ground, while others say it is impossible to fight there.
Sabo speaks with Lindbergh during the operation. He asks whether Lindbergh has the keys to the collars yet, and Lindbergh says he just found out where they keep them and that it will not be long. Sabo then reports that Kuma is in Pangaea Castle too, shocking the others. He says he spotted Saint Rosward and Saint Charlos at the public courtyard with a giant fish man who seems to be looking for someone, implying Shirahoshi is again in danger. Sabo says he will not forgive them for using Kuma like this. Elsewhere, Vivi, running and exhausted, calls out, "Father!" The page ties the rescue of Kuma to the unfolding crisis around Shirahoshi, the Celestial Dragons, and Cobra.
Vivi clashes verbally with Lucci, telling him she would rather have Vice Admiral Garp's help and asking whether CP0 will "protect" her the same way they protected Shirahoshi. Lucci coldly says they did not, and Vivi realizes the Celestial Dragon who targeted Shirahoshi is definitely going to target her again. A guard informs Chaka and Pell that only King Cobra has been permitted an audience with the Five Elders. Cobra, coughing in his wheelchair, tells his escorts that the meeting will not take long and that it would be tedious for them to wait outside. He asks them to use the time to look for Vivi, because she has always been mischievous and cannot be left out of sight for a second. The chapter ends with Cobra entering his private audience, asking what the purpose of the meeting is.
