The story opens with the side note, "Dark clouds loom over the two!! What is Doflamingo's forecast..?" Doflamingo speaks over a Den Den Mushi and says, "Corazon. It's you, isn't it?" The tapped-out silence of Corazon's transponder is shown with "TAP TAP TAP..." and a speech panel full of dots. Doflamingo says, "It's been over half a year since you took off... Are you with Law?" Corazon and Law sit in the rocky wilderness, Law marked by "?" as Doflamingo says his name. Doflamingo continues, "I see... Well, I'm glad the two of you are safe. Did you find any good doctors...?" Corazon's dots and tapping answer him, and Doflamingo concludes, "...I thought so." The page reestablishes that Doflamingo is tracking Corazon and Law through the strained silence of a phone call.

Doflamingo says, "Bring Law with you and come back to the ship!! I might be able to cure his sickness!!" Law reacts with "!!?" while Corazon is stunned. Doflamingo explains, "I've acquired some information regarding the 'Ope Ope no Mi'!!" He says the Navy has put it up for a huge price, and that some idiot oblivious to its true value is trying to purchase it. The government is probably pulling strings behind the scenes and trying to steal it, making it dangerous. Doflamingo adds that once they have their hands on it, they will need someone highly compatible with it, and more importantly, someone he can truly trust and rely on to eat it. He says, "And with that, you'll be able to cure Law's illness." Corazon realizes the catch: "And that person is you... Corazon!!" The page lays out Doflamingo's plan to use the Ope Ope no Mi through Corazon in order to save Law while also serving Doflamingo's ambitions.

On the Donquixote ship, Corazon's Den Den Mushi sleeps with "ZZZ" as Doflamingo asks, "So you guys... What do you think...?" Inside the ship, the executives discuss Corazon's half-year disappearance. Someone says, "In the past they've so doggedly sniffed out our location and come chasing after us... Marine HQ's little tools..." Another adds that over this past half year the Navy oddly has not made any appearances, the very same half year Corazon has been missing. Trebol asks, "So he's been feeding the Navy our intel?" Doflamingo laughs, "Uhahaha, it may just all be a coincidence." But then his expression turns dangerous as he says he would rather not be suspicious of his own little brother. The crew's suspicion that Corazon is leaking information to the Marines grows explicit.

Corazon erupts with forced optimism, yelling, "Isn't this great!!! Cheer up, Law!!! All we need is the 'Ope Ope no Mi'!! To hell with those doctors!! You're gonna live!!! With it, even your Amber Lead Sickness will be cured!!" Law asks, "What is the 'Ope Ope no Mi'...?" Corazon explains that it has the ability to modify and restructure the human body, the power to perform miraculous operations and even completely cure unknown diseases. Law wonders if something like that could be fake and magical, but Corazon insists it is not magic because it requires in-depth working medical knowledge. Law then asks why he would be the most suited to eat it. Corazon says anyone who eats two Devil Fruits will die and admits that Doffy told him to eat it because Doffy does not know about Corazon's ability. He declares, "You and I won't ever go back to the Family again!!!" The page turns Doflamingo's plan into Corazon's decision to defect permanently with Law.

Corazon thinks that once he realized their journey would not be over quickly, he came to a decision. By now Doffy must have concluded that he is a traitor, and Corazon sees another meaning behind Doffy telling him to eat the Ope Ope no Mi: Doffy knows Corazon cannot disobey him, so Corazon would become a sacrifice if they returned, to help gain eternal life. Corazon suddenly orders Law, "Listen!!! We're going to turn it all around on Doffy!! We're going to steal the 'Ope Ope no Mi'!! And then you're going to eat it!! After your sickness has been cured, the two of us will go into hiding somewhere!!" Law reacts with alarm and silence. Corazon then calls the Marines, and the transponder rings "BEEP BOOP BEEP BOOP BOOP..." He says, "Prepare to make sail. No matter what happens, we're gonna get our hands on the 'Ope Ope no Mi'!!" Vice Admiral Garp answers loudly, "Rosinante!! It's been a long time, you had me worried!" Corazon yells back, "Dammit, Garp!! Get the hell outta here!!" and asks for "Okaki," receiving the answer, "Arare. It's me." A vertical translator note explains the Japanese snack-name wordplay around senbei/crackers and Marine code names.

Garp keeps shouting through the call: "What the hell man?! I even brought senbei crackers! C'mon, get the tea out!" Corazon snaps, "I told you to get the hell outta here! You damned buffoon!! I'm working, working, for crying out loud!!!" Garp says, "Perhaps I should try calling back later, Sengoku-san..." and Sengoku answers, "May I continue?" Corazon apologizes and tells him to go ahead, while Garp calls, "Yo! Kuzan! Wanna come have some senbei with me?" Sengoku asks if there is currently a deal happening for the Ope Ope no Mi, and Corazon says he got the information from his brother. Sengoku is shocked: only a select few have access to that classified intel. Law realizes the person Cora-san is talking to on the Den Den Mushi must be important. Corazon says he wants to know the movements of the pirates involved. Sengoku says they have been unable to pin down the exact route before the exchange happens, even if Doflamingo plans to steal the fruit during it. Law asks, "Are you serious?!" Corazon asks, "When and where is this trade going down?"

Sengoku gives the operation details over a map. The trade is set for "in three weeks, on the North Blue island Rubeck," and his meeting with Doffy and the others is set to take place three days before, "on Swallow Island, in the evening." He says every single member of the Family will probably be preparing for battle by then, which is excellent information. Sengoku says this is as far as they will allow Doflamingo to move: they will ambush him on Swallow and take out the entire Donquixote Family in one fell swoop. He orders, "Corazon, don't come near the island!" Corazon answers, "I have no intention of doing so." He then asks about the big shots and merchants who deal with Doffy behind the scenes, and Sengoku says he will have their names by tomorrow. Sengoku notes that they will be able to dispel quite a bit of North Blue's darkness with this and praises him: "You're absolutely right. Good work." The page marks the military trap against Doflamingo and the timetable Corazon now intends to beat.

Corazon hangs up the call with "GACHA" while the Den Den Mushi sleeps. He immediately tells Law, "Oi, Law! We're leaving... now!" and Law reacts, "!!?" Corazon shouts that just as they see the light at the end of the tunnel, Law collapses with fever, panting "HAA-HAA." Corazon begs him to hang in there: "No fucking way!? It hasn't even been 3 years yet! According to your own prediction you should be able to fight this off for a bit longer, right!?" Law can barely answer and says, "Just for 3 more weeks... just hang in there until then... Give me a fighting chance dammit!" Corazon panics because they cannot go to doctors and Law is badly feverish, crying, "What should I do?! Please, tell me Law...!!" Law whispers, "Please... anything...!!" The page pushes the deadline from strategy into immediate physical danger for Law.

A typhoon batters the ship as Corazon curses, "Shit! Now, of all times... A typhoon!!!" Law calls weakly, "Cora-san..." and pants "HAA," while Corazon reacts, "Hm?" Law confronts him about the government: "The government... despite knowing that we'd die, made us dig up the Amber Lead... all for the sake of profit... My family, my city... The government killed them!" He asks, "So if you happen to be an ally of theirs, a Marine of theirs... just tell me." Corazon shouts, "You idiot! I ain't no Marine!" Law falls silent, and Corazon says that is a relief. He then warns Law, "You better understand this one fact well. By stealing the Ope-Ope no Mi... Doflamingo, the Marines, and the government itself... we'll be making enemies out of every last one of them! You best be prepared for the consequences of that!!!" The page makes clear that Corazon hides his Marine identity from Law while still telling him the theft will put them against every major power involved.

Three days before the exchange, Sengoku reports from the operation. Corazon asks, "Have you found the pirates, Sengoku-san..." Sengoku answers, "Yes... they're on the eastern side of Rubeck." The map panel identifies "MINION ISLAND." Sengoku explains that there is a ghost town on Minion Island and it seems the pirates are using it as their base of operations for the time being. He identifies them: "The name of this pirate crew is 'Dies Barrels'!" They are former Marine officers, and a Marine patrol boat is scouting around the island at that very moment. Sengoku adds that around the island where Corazon is supposed to meet Doflamingo, two battleships are stationed. On the snowy cliffs, Corazon and Law climb through heavy weather while Corazon pants "HAA" and says, "Don't let Doflamingo steal the Ope Ope no Mi!" The page moves the chase to Minion Island and names the Barrels Pirates as the crew holding the fruit.

Inside the ghost town on Minion Island, pirates call, "Dorry! Quickly! Bring out the alcohol!" and laugh over their treasure. Captain Diez Barrels sits among his crew with the Ope Ope no Mi and asks how much they think they can sell a fruit like this for. He says, "It's ridiculous! Has the government lost its mind or something!?" and laughs that with that much money in their hands they will not even need to continue pirating. Holding the heart-shaped fruit, he speculates that if a doctor ate it, they would become renowned the world over. He recalls that in the past, a legendary doctor ate this fruit and became famous for performing miracle operations that could cure any and all illnesses. The page introduces Diez Barrels' greedy view of the fruit: not as a cure for Law, but as the most valuable cargo imaginable.

Barrels dismisses the fame and says, "All that don't matter! Money tastes better than fame!" He laughs over the snowy town while Corazon and Law watch from outside in silence. Corazon tells Law, "Look, Law!" and says, "I can make it so that... nothing makes any sound!" He demonstrates the Nagi Nagi no Mi, forming a silent "Calm" space with the drawn sound "shiin." Law watches as Corazon holds up his hands in a double peace sign, then tosses or triggers an explosive while shouting, "Calm!" The page begins Corazon's stealthy theft plan: he can make an attack happen without sound, even in the middle of an occupied pirate base.

Corazon's soundless attack destroys part of the hideout while he yells, "Look where you're shooting!" The silent effect continues with long "shiin" marks. Corazon grins and asks, "How was that? Didn't make a sound, did it!?" Law is unimpressed and says, "Ew!" and "What's even the point of that power?" He complains that it is not even cool and that Baby 5's Buki Buki is way better, though he admits, "Damn it! I'll admit, that one is pretty badass..." Corazon answers with wounded pride, but another thought bubble says that when it comes to a good night's sleep, there is not anyone who can beat him, "Not a single person!" The page mixes the seriousness of the raid with Corazon's goofy pride in a power Law still undervalues.

The soundless destruction throws the Barrels Pirates into chaos. One pirate screams, "Captain! Without a single sound, the mansion's been blown up!" Others shout, "What!? How is that even possible!? The flames have reached the treasure warehouse!" Inside, Barrels yells, "Put out the flames! What the fuck is going on!?" and "Have we been invaded or something!?" Pirates panic as someone says the lamps have gone out and another cries that glass is raining down where it broke. Barrels orders, "Someone, turn on the light!" while Corazon moves through the darkened scene. The page shows that the Nagi Nagi no Mi has made the raid invisible to the senses that should have warned the pirates.

This file bears the official chapter-ending strip, though the following file in the folder appears to be the chronologically preceding escape page. In the darkness, pirates ask "?" and one says "Silence" as Barrels shouts, "Turn on the damn lights! What the hell is happening!?" Corazon makes a desperate jump through the wreckage with the Ope Ope no Mi, the mansion exploding behind him in a soundless "shiin." A pirate yells, "Son of a...!" and Corazon screams "WHAAAAA!!" as he falls or crashes away from the building. Clutching the fruit, he thinks, "The Ope-Ope no Mi! Now we'll be able to cure your illness! I did it, Law!" The bottom strip reads "ONE PIECE ...CH. 765 END" and notes, "We will be on hiatus next issue! We plan to resume publication with issue #50!" The page functions as the chapter's emotional endpoint: Corazon has stolen the cure, but his escape is frantic and dangerous.

This page appears after the ending page in the folder, but its action belongs just before that final beat. Corazon, in a black coat, bursts out with the Ope Ope no Mi while Barrels' men finally spot him. Pirates shout, "Eh!? Who the hell is this?! Fuckin' scared the shit out of me!" and "When'd he get here!?" Another yells, "Oi! Some bastard in a black coat has stolen the damn Ope Ope no Mi!!" Barrels screams, "Don't you dare let him get away!" and another voice identifies, "That's this guy!" Corazon thinks or says, "I'll be back as fast as I can! With the Ope Ope no Mi!" The side note says, "An unbelievable act of clumsiness!? Corazon's in a pinch!!" At the bottom, Law waits in the snowy town and thinks, "Law! I know you're in pain, but... wait for me there! Just a while longer!" The page clarifies the chase that leads into the ending: the pirates discover the theft, and Corazon races back toward Law.
