Chapter 802: Zou. The title page opens as the crew heads for Zou, with side text asking what awaits them there. Huge chunks of hail or debris crash down around the Going Luffy-senpai. Robin cries, "Oh my... they're huge! Watch out!" Others shout that "It's hailing!" and that each piece is the size of a head. Luffy's impact punches a hole in the deck, prompting, "Waah! It's punched a hole in the deck!" A Bartolomeo crewman urges, "Luffy-senpai! Everyone! Please, go below deck!" Luffy refuses to hide and says, "What are you talking about? We'll help you!" The panicking crew asks which way to tack and who the navigator is, begging for instructions while the storm batters the ship.

The Straw Hats are stunned to learn that Bartolomeo's ship has no navigator despite being in the New World. The Barto Club explains they are just a small back-alley gang and, whenever they are in a pinch, they call Granny on a Den-Den Mushi. While everyone needs real sailing advice, Granny gives household tips: wrap the hail pieces in cloth to freeze the gum stuck to the deck so it will come off, then rub sugar into warts. Someone snaps, "We don't need housekeeping tips right now, for crying out loud!" and "Enough with the Martha Stewart crap!" The storm continues to clobber the ship, and when one man is knocked down, someone yells, "Oh shit! He's out cold!"

The crisis worsens aboard the Going Luffy-senpai. Luffy cries, "That's it! We're sunk! Nami, save us!" while Law complains, "Of all the ships to go on, we just had to pick this one!" Someone wishes the ship were equipped like the Sunny, but others insist they just have to get their hands dirty. Bartolomeo's men declare that as long as the fearless Straw Hats are with them, they have nothing to fear, only for the others to berate them for making it this far by luck. A voice tells them that defying nature is a sin, but the crew keeps quoting Granny. Luffy tells Bartolomeo to start by putting up barriers as the sea throws the ship violently and a huge shape or wave surges nearby.

At Marine Headquarters, officers report that the A.O. Pirates, who once served under the former Whitebeard Pirates, have been annihilated. Borsalino asks if it was him again, and the answer is yes: the Shichibukai Edward Weevil. This makes the sixteenth former Whitebeard captain attacked by the same pattern, beginning with some petty dispute and ending with an entire city laid to waste; the death toll is approximately 600. One Marine nervously asks whether the Navy can really turn a blind eye to the civilian casualties just because Weevil is a Shichibukai. Kizaru calls it a problem and notes that the title of Whitebeard's true son is powerful, even though many doubt its authenticity. For now, he says the truth of that claim means little from the Marines' position.

Kizaru concludes that regardless of lineage, one unshakable truth remains: as a pirate, Edward Weevil is overwhelmingly powerful. His strength is said to be reminiscent of the raw strength Whitebeard had in his youth. The scene shifts to the devastated city, where Weevil towers amid wreckage, ruins, and defeated men. He mutters that they are all fools and will never understand, then urges them to say it together all at once. The page builds Weevil as a monstrous new threat, not through cunning or politics, but through sheer destructive physical power and the terrifying reputation attached to the name Whitebeard.

Edward Weevil bellows in his childish, nasal way that the only sons of "White-Beer" are the "Whitebeer Pirates," then turns to his mother for approval. He asks, "Right, momma? Momma?" and insists he must be Whitebeard's son because his beard is white. A title card introduces him as Royal Shichibukai, self-proclaimed "White-Beard Jr." Edward Weeble, former bounty 480,000,000. The page emphasizes the gag that his speech twists Whitebeard's name because of his runny-nose pronunciation, while his grotesque body, enormous weapon, stitches, and childlike dependence on his mother make him both ridiculous and dangerous.

Miss Bakkin backs up Weevil's claim, calling him cupcake and declaring that the so-called Whitebeard Pirates are merely playing house and nothing more than pretenders. She says the only true son of the once strongest pirate in the world, Whitebeard, and the only one related to him by blood, is Weevil alone. She introduces herself as the woman who stole Whitebeard's heart, while her title card names her Weevil's mother and self-proclaimed "Whitebeard's Beloved" Miss Bakkin. She smacks Weevil into focus, calling him her little treasure, and shows him Whitebeard's picture to argue the resemblance. Weevil mistakes the portrait for a mirror, repeatedly asks if it is a mirror, and apologizes to his mother when corrected.

Bakkin instantly softens toward Weevil, saying she could never hold anything against him because she loves him. Weevil cries out for his momma. Bakkin then lays out their next move: they will search for the remaining stragglers of the Whitebeard Pirates, beginning with Marco the Phoenix, and put him out of his misery. When asked their next assignment, Weevil admits he forgot. Bakkin reminds him that his father Newgate should have left behind a vast inheritance and that Weevil, as the one true heir, is the lone rightful beneficiary. Weevil says he understands, sort of, but asks about his true grudge against the man who killed his father, Blackbeard.

Weevil roars that he will make Blackbeard pay and make him wish he had never been born. Bakkin scolds him as a foolish child, saying a grudge is not profitable and will not even earn one berry. She repeats that money should be his priority and that he must claim his true inheritance. Then she notices news about Garp's grandson: Doflamingo has been removed from power. Bakkin recalls rumors from the pirate summit war that Marco and the others were protecting Luffy, which may mean Luffy can lead them to Marco. She suggests they should go beat the information out of him, turning Weevil's destructive attention toward the Straw Hat captain.

One week later, on the Going Luffy-senpai, the ship drifts through thick fog with absolutely no visibility. Bartolomeo's crew is horribly seasick, vomiting "Bleeeaargh" and "blooaargh" while the Straw Hats mock them for calling themselves pirates. One of them says gum helps nausea because Granny used to say so, explaining why the boat was covered in gum. A lookout spots something off the ship at two o'clock and wonders whether it is a mountain or a monster deep in the fog. Others argue about reefs, capsizing, and escaping the fog maze as quickly as possible. Luffy wants to check out the moving mountain, but the Barto Club's sickness and confusion make the approach chaotic.

Bartolomeo presents Luffy's vivre card and brags about completing admiral-class reconnaissance, blushing when someone calls him God and proudly invoking his 200,000,000-berry bounty. Luffy notices that the vivre card points toward the strange shape in the fog, meaning their friends must be there. Robin says she has heard of an island that wards away would-be visitors with thick fog and ocean currents. The crew takes down the sails and readies the oars because the wind is pushing them away. Usopp looks pale, refusing gum as he realizes the reality of their situation. Luffy asks if this is the island Zou, but everyone sees that the shape does not look like an ordinary island at all.

Law explains that because Zou is technically not land, no Log Pose can reach it, and even he has never been there before. If they are heading toward its back, then Black Leg's group may well have arrived before them. Robin observes that the elephant had been putting distance between them, but they have finally caught up. Law tells everyone to prepare to disembark. Bartolomeo asks for provisions and is rejected, then immediately reframes the request as supplies for Mugiwara-ya, ordering his crew to bring everything, including reserves. The truth is revealed: Zou is not a normal island but a land resting on the back of a giant living elephant, constantly moving, an illusory place with no fixed location.

The gigantic elephant's face fills the page as the crew learns it has been alive for around 1000 years. Side text teases the new adventure awaiting them on the back of this behemoth. Kin'emon and Kanjuro finally see Zou and marvel at how many peculiar and diverse things exist in foreign waters, while Kin'emon prays that Momonosuke is safe. They mention tales of a tribe living on Zou that has utter disdain for humans and anything resembling them. Law confirms the story: the Mink tribe lives there, and he has heard the country has gone nearly 1000 years without humans ever coming into contact with it. Luffy processes the impossible scale of the place as the approach to Zou begins.
