At Last, Grand Line

Luffy stands at the bow of the Going Merry, holding his straw hat and grinning widely. He looks out at the vast ocean ahead. "THE GREATEST SEA IN THE WORLD...! SO THIS IS GRAND LINE," he says. The ship is hurtling down the rapids of Reverse Mountain at incredible speed, surrounded by splashing water and mist. Someone shouts, "FULL SPEED AHEAD!" as Zoro, Sanji, Nami, and Usopp hold on tight while the ship descends.

A loud, deep rumbling sound echoes through the air: "BUOOOOOH!" Nami, looking slightly concerned, says, "I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF THAT'S JUST NOISE FROM THE WIND. THE TERRAIN HERE IS QUITE ODD AFTER ALL." Luffy laughs excitedly, throwing his arms up, "WHO CARES! WOOHOO!" Zoro looks back, asking, "HM? DID YOU HEAR SOMETHING JUST NOW?" Sanji suddenly points forward in alarm, "NAMI! THERE'S A MOUNTAIN UP AHEAD!" Nami is shocked, "A MOUNTAIN? THAT CAN'T BE! ONCE WE PASS THE TWIN CAPES UP AHEAD, WE SHOULD REACH THE OPEN SEA." Usopp looks through his goggles, sweating, "WHAT'S THAT..." The loud sound repeats, "BUOOHHHHH!" Luffy tilts his head in confusion, "HM?"

A massive, towering black shape emerges from the water, completely blocking the path ahead. It is covered in white scars and has a giant eye and a huge mouth. The sound "BUOOOOOHHHH!" reverberates from it. The Going Merry looks tiny in comparison as it speeds straight toward the creature. Sanji yells in disbelief, "THAT'S NO MOUNTAIN! IT'S A WHALE!"

The Going Merry continues to barrel toward the colossal whale. Usopp panics, "WHAT DO WE DO!? SHOULD WE FIGHT!?" Sanji yells back, "ARE YOU KIDDING!? HOW THE HECK ARE WE SUPPOSED TO FIGHT SOMETHING THAT BIG!?" Usopp argues, "BUT IT'S BLOCKING OUR WAY!" Sanji replies, "WE'RE TOO CLOSE TO SEE ANYTHING! IT LOOKS LIKE JUST A GIANT WALL! WHERE ARE ITS EYES!?" Nami realizes something, "AH, THAT'S RIGHT! MAYBE THE WHALE JUST HASN'T NOTICED US YET!" Zoro urgently commands, "WELL IF WE DON'T DO ANYTHING SOON, WE'RE GONNA CRASH! THERE'S AN OPEN SPACE UP LEFT! TURN PORTSIDE!" Usopp struggles with the ship's controls, "BUT THE RUDDER'S BROKEN!" Sanji runs to help, "WELL WE'VE GOTTA DO SOMETHING! I'LL COME HELP TOO!" Luffy suddenly gets an idea, "THAT'S IT! I'VE GOT A PLAN!"

Sanji and Zoro pull on the rudder with all their might. "TURRNNNN LEEEEFFTT! LEEEEFFTT!" they yell. Usopp cries out, "IT'S NO GOOD! THE RUDDER WON'T BUDGE!" Luffy dashes into the ship's cabin. Nami asks, "WHAT IS IT, LUFFY!?" Suddenly, a loud blast erupts from the front of the ship. Luffy has fired the ship's cannon directly at the whale. The recoil rocks the ship. Nami, Usopp, Zoro, and Sanji are completely shocked, their eyes popping out. Nami screams, "THE CANNON...!?" Luffy stands proudly by the smoking cannon, "GOOD! I WONDER IF THE SHIP STOPPED NOW?"

The cannonball hits the whale, but the impact causes the Going Merry's sheep figurehead to snap off with a "CRACK". Luffy watches in absolute horror as the figurehead falls into the sea. "MY SPECIAL SEAT!" he screams. Nami slumps against the deck, relieved that the ship has stopped. "OH GOD... I ALMOST DIED JUST NOW..." she sighs. Zoro and Sanji gulp nervously. Suddenly, a massive, unblinking eye of the giant whale slowly turns and glares down at them.

The giant whale stares silently at the tiny ship. Zoro stammers, "N..." Sanji yells, "NOW'S OUR CHANCE! RUN FOR IT!" Usopp is terrified, "WHAT'S WITH THIS THING!? DID IT NOT EVEN FEEL THAT CANNONBALL JUST NOW!?" Nami suggests, "MAYBE IT'S JUST REALLY SLOW!" Usopp screams, "WHO THE HELL CARES! LET'S JUST GET OUTTA HERE!" Sanji and Zoro frantically start rowing the ship with oars. "ROW! JUST ROW AS FAST AS YOU CAN! WE'VE GOT TO GET AWAY FROM THIS THING JUST NOW!" The whale suddenly lets out a deafening roar, "BUOOOHHHH!" Sanji covers his ears in pain, "AGHHHHH, MY EARS!"

Nami looks up in confusion, "HUH?" Luffy is standing on the railing of the ship, glaring angrily at the giant whale. "HOW DARE... YOU DESTROY..." he mutters. He stretches his arm back and launches a powerful punch directly into the whale's giant eye. "MY SPECIAL SEAT!!!" he roars as his fist connects with a massive impact.

Nami, Sanji, Usopp, and Zoro scream in absolute terror and fury at Luffy's reckless action. "THAT IDIOT!" they yell, their faces distorted in panic. The whale's giant eye twitches and focuses directly on the ship. Usopp cries, "IT SAW US!" Luffy stands his ground, fists raised, "COME AT ME, YOU BASTARD!" Sanji furiously kicks Luffy in the head, "JUST SHUT THE HELL UP ALREADY!" Luffy grunts, "OOF!"

The giant whale opens its colossal mouth, revealing rows of massive teeth and a dark, cavernous throat. The ocean water begins rushing into its mouth, dragging the Going Merry along with it. The crew screams in terror, "AGHHHHHH!" Luffy slides across the deck as the ship tilts. Someone yells, "LUFFY!" The ship is pulled helplessly toward the gaping maw.

The Going Merry is sucked into a massive whirlpool inside the whale's mouth. The crew continues to scream, "AGHHHHHHHH!" "AHHHHHHH!" Luffy manages to grab onto the outside of the whale's mouth, hanging on for dear life. "I AIN'T GONNA DIE HERE!" he yells. However, he loses his grip and slips. "AHH! I'M GONNA FALL!" he cries as he tumbles. The whale slams its massive jaws shut with a loud "BAKUN", completely swallowing the ship and the rest of the crew.

Luffy is sitting on top of the whale's massive back, panting heavily. "HUFF... HUFF HUFF," he breathes. He looks around at the empty sea. "EVERYONE WAS SWALLOWED UP. WHAT DO I DO NOW?" he wonders. He stands up and starts furiously stomping and punching the whale's back. "HEY YOU! GIVE ME MY FRIENDS BACK! COUGH 'EM UP!" he yells.

Luffy continues to yell at the whale, "I SAID WAIT! GIVE ME BACK MY CREWMATES! WE WERE JUST ABOUT TO START OUR GRAND ADVENTURE! THEY'RE MY IMPORTANT FRIENDS!" He suddenly notices something strange on the whale's back. "HUH?" he says, looking closer. It's a metal trapdoor with a handle. "DAMN IT! PLANNING TO DIVE UNDER THE SEA!? WAIT!" he yells as the whale begins to submerge. As the whale dives beneath the waves, a voice from inside asks, "WHAT DO YOU MAKE OF THIS?"

Inside the whale, the Going Merry is floating on a calm body of water. Zoro, Sanji, Nami, and Usopp are standing on the deck, looking completely bewildered. Zoro asks, "WHAT DO I MAKE OF THIS...?" Sanji, smoking a cigarette, replies, "YEAH, WHAT'S YOUR EXPLANATION FOR THIS... I COULD'VE SWORN WE WERE SWALLOWED UP BY A WHALE BUT..." Usopp looks around in disbelief, "ARE WE JUST DREAMING OR SOMETHING?" They are looking at a bizarre sight: a small island with a house and palm trees, surrounded by water, with a painted sky and clouds on the walls of the cavern. Zoro concludes, "...YEAH, THIS HAS GOT TO BE A DREAM..."

Nami points at the island, "THEN... WHAT'S WITH THAT HOUSE ON THAT ISLAND? MUST BE AN ILLUSION..." Suddenly, the water erupts, and a giant squid emerges right next to the ship. Usopp screams in terror, "THEN WHAT ABOUT THIS? IT'S A GIANT SQUID!" The massive squid looms over the Going Merry, its tentacles flailing.

Before the giant squid can attack, three large harpoons shoot out from the island and strike the squid, killing it instantly. Sanji and Zoro watch in surprise. Usopp is trembling, "I'VE HAD ENOUGH... I WANNA GO HOME..." Nami looks around nervously, "B-BY THE WAY, WHERE DID LUFFY GO...?" Sanji says, "LET'S HOPE IT'S A PERSON." Zoro agrees, "SEEMS LIKE THERE'S A PERSON HERE." The giant squid is being dragged toward the island by the harpoon lines.

Meanwhile, Luffy is walking down a metal hallway with riveted walls and wooden supports. "WHAT THE... JUST WHAT IS ALL THIS? WHY'S THERE A DOOR IN A WHALE...? AND A HALLWAY, TOO..." he wonders aloud. Back on the ship, Sanji, Nami, Usopp, and Zoro are watching the house on the island. Sanji warns, "HANG ON, SOMEONE'S COMING OUT...!" Usopp stammers, "M-MAYBE WE SHOULD JUST OPEN FIRE!" A silhouette of a person emerges from the house, looking toward the Going Merry. The figure says, "A SHIP..."
