Inside a clothing store, Nami is trying on different outfits. First, she steps out of the dressing room wearing a short, tight dress with a fur coat. The shopkeeper praises her, "OHHH! IT SUITS YOU WONDERFULLY, MISS!" Nami asks, "HOW'S THIS?" Next, she tries on a long, elegant black dress with a fur stole. The shopkeeper gushes, "OHHH, HOW ELEGANT YOU LOOK!" Nami asks, "AND THIS?" Outside the "ROBECCA GLOVE FACTORY", speech bubbles emerge from the store as Nami continues trying on clothes. She asks, "WHAT ABOUT THIS?" and the shopkeeper replies, "ELEMENTARY!" She asks again, "AND THIS?" and he says, "ELECTRICAL!" The rapid-fire exchange continues: "AND THIS?" "ELEGIAC!" "AND THIS?" "EROTIC!" "ECCENTRIC!" Finally, Nami walks out of the store wearing her usual striped shirt and skirt. The exhausted shopkeeper is carrying a massive, towering pile of the clothes she tried on. He asks hopefully, "SO WILL YOU BE BUYING ALL THIS, MISS?" Nami smiles brightly and replies, "NOPE, DON'T NEED IT. I WANT SOMETHING A LITTLE MORE CASUAL, THAT'S EASIER TO MOVE AROUND IN." The shopkeeper collapses under the weight of the clothes as Nami walks away. He weakly calls out, "PLEASE COME AGAIN!"

Luffy is walking through the bustling streets of Loguetown. He arrives at a large town square and looks up at a massive structure in the center. A voice in the crowd says, "THE EXECUTION STAND." Luffy stares at the tall wooden scaffolding. He thinks, "SO THAT'S WHERE THE GREAT PIRATE KING, WAS EXECUTED..." A wide smile spreads across his face as he says, "THERE IT IS..." He continues to gaze up at the execution stand, surrounded by the chatter of the townspeople. Voices around him murmur, "THE PLACE WHERE THE GREATEST PIRATE IN HISTORY, WAS PUT TO DEATH..."

A distant view of the execution stand is shown, with a voice saying, "AND THE PLACE, WHERE THE PIRATE AGE BEGAN..." Elsewhere in the town, Zoro is walking through the streets, looking deeply annoyed. He mutters, "THAT WAS SHOCKING. DAMN IT..." He recalls his recent encounter with Tashigi, remembering her smiling face as she apologized, "S... SORRY FOR TROUBLING YOU." Zoro thinks to himself, "BUT THAT GIRL, LOOKS WAY TOO MUCH LIKE KUINA." A small note adds, "She's basically a copy!" He continues to reflect on the encounter, "NOT ONLY THAT, SHE'S A SWORDSMAN AS WELL!" Zoro scowls, trying to brush it off. "WELL, IT IS A BIG WORLD, AFTER ALL... AT LEAST I WON'T EVER RUN INTO HER ANYMORE. DAMN IT, I STILL CAN'T GET OVER IT..."

Zoro enters an arms shop, announcing, "I'D LIKE TO PURCHASE A SWORD." Inside, the shopkeeper, Ipponmatsu, is visible. He eagerly replies, "YES, YES, YES, YES." Ipponmatsu rubs his hands together greedily, welcoming his new customer. "COME RIGHT IN, SIR. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO LOOK AROUND AS MUCH AS YOU WANT. WE'VE GOT ANTIQUE SWORDS, NEW SWORDS, AND THE LATEST SWORDS IN FASHION. AFTER ALL, THIS IS A WELL-ESTABLISHED STORE THAT'S BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR OVER 200 YEARS!" A sign on the counter identifies him as "ARMS SHOP OWNER IPPON MATSU". Zoro approaches the counter and states, "I'VE GOT 100,000 BELI. SELL ME TWO SWORDS." Ipponmatsu's enthusiastic demeanor instantly vanishes. He repeats in disbelief, "100,000?" Leaning on the counter and picking his nose dismissively, Ipponmatsu says, "YOU WANT 2 SWORDS WITH ONLY 100,000!? IF YOU'RE LOOKING TO BUY ONE SWORD EACH FOR AROUND 50,000, I'VE ONLY GOT BLUNT PIECES OF TRASH TO SELL, Y'HEAR!?" He thinks to himself, "SO HE'S JUST SOME PENNILESS TRASH. MUST BE SOME IGNORANT NEWBIE..."

Zoro settles for the cheaper swords, saying, "THAT'LL BE GOOD ENOUGH SINCE I DON'T HAVE ANY MONEY RIGHT NOW." Ipponmatsu's eyes suddenly widen as he notices the white-hilted sword hanging at Zoro's waist. He thinks, "THAT SWORD ON HIS WAIST... COULD IT BE...!?" A close-up shows the hilt of the Wado Ichimonji. Ipponmatsu begins to sweat profusely, leaning over the counter with a nervous smile. "H-H-H-H-HEY... C-C-C-COULD I M-M-MAYBE SEE THAT S-S-S-WORD OF YOURS...?" Zoro looks at him suspiciously, asking, "WHAT'S WITH THE STUTTERING...?" Ipponmatsu tells himself, "KEEP IT COOL NOW..." He takes the sword and examines it closely, his eyes bulging in shock. "ACK! THIS IS DEFINITELY...!" He realizes the immense value of the blade. Sweating heavily, he tries to calm himself down. "C... CALM DOWN! THIS IS MY BIG CHANCE! A DUMB NOVICE JUST HAPPENED TO COME IN WITH A FAMOUS SWORD HANGING ON HIS WAIST SO DON'T MESS IT UP! JUST PLAY IT COOL..." He hands the sword back to Zoro, feigning disinterest. "MEH, IT'S NO GOOD. JUST A PIECE OF JUNK." Zoro looks annoyed and says, "WHAT?" Ipponmatsu quickly backpedals, "SORRY, I WAS LYING JUST NOW."

Ipponmatsu holds the sword, trying to negotiate a deal. "I KNOW YOU'RE BROKE SO LET ME PROPOSE SOMETHING. THIS SWORD YOU'VE GOT HERE CERTAINLY AIN'T NO JUNK, BUT IT'S NO MASTERPIECE EITHER. IT'S AN ABOVE-AVERAGE SWORD. SO I'LL OFFER YOU 200,000 FOR THIS SWORD, MEANING THAT YOU'LL HAVE 300,000 IN TOTAL. WITH THAT MUCH MONEY, YOU CAN BUY 3 DECENT SWORDS AT 100,000 APIECE." Zoro looks at him skeptically. "HUH? WHAT'RE YOU TALKING ABOUT." Ipponmatsu starts to panic, sweating. "N-NO? THEN... HOW ABOUT FOR 500,000!?" He yells desperately, "FINE, YOU LEAVE ME WITH NO CHOICE. JUST A LITTLE MORE...! I'LL BUY IT FOR 650,000! HOOK, LINE, AND S..." Zoro glares at him, stating firmly, "LISTEN PAL, THIS SWORD ISN'T SOMETHING FOR SALE..." Suddenly, Tashigi enters the shop and spots the sword. She gasps, "AHHHHH! THIS SWORD!" Ipponmatsu is horrified, thinking, "COULD IT BE!? DON'T SAY IT! DON'T SAY IT!" Zoro turns around in shock, exclaiming, "W... WHAT'S SHE DOING HERE!?"

Tashigi adjusts her glasses, looking closely at the sword in Zoro's hand. She excitedly identifies it, "THIS IS... 'WADOU ICHIMONJI,' RIGHT!?" A small note explains that the name literally means "Straight path of harmony". Zoro looks surprised, repeating, "WADOU...!?" Tashigi admires the blade, murmuring, "SUCH A BEAUTIFUL EDGE..." Ipponmatsu sweats nervously and stammers, trying to downplay it. "Y-Y-Y-YES... I-IT DOES H-H-HAPPEN TO GO BY SUCH A NAME... BUT IT'S STILL JUST A DECENT SWORD AT BEST..." IT'S A SWORD THAT CAN'T BE BOUGHT FOR ANY LESS THAN A MILLION BELI!" Ipponmatsu recoils in horror as his scam is completely exposed.

Ipponmatsu furiously yells at Tashigi, "DAMN IT, WOMAN! YOU'VE GONE AND TOLD HIM EVERYTHING! I SHOULD SUE YOU FOR OBSTRUCTION OF BUSINESS!" Tashigi looks confused and apologetic. "WHA!? OBSTRUCTION OF BUSINESS!? I'M SORRY, DID I SAY SOMETHING WRONG? IT'S JUST THAT... I'VE NEVER SEEN SUCH A FINE SWORD BEFORE AND...!" Ipponmatsu brings out another sword and hands it to her. "YOU'VE COME TO PICK UP YOUR 'SHIGURE,' RIGHT!? HERE, IT'S BEEN POLISHED ALREADY! HMPH, I CAN'T BELIEVE A TIMID GIRL LIKE YOU CARRIES AROUND A HIGH-GRADE SWORD...!" A note explains that shigure literally means drizzle. He then points angrily at Zoro, who is rummaging through a barrel of swords. "THE HECK ARE YOU FALLING OVER THERE FOR!? PUT ALL THE SWORDS BACK IN THEIR PLACE AND JUST LEAVE ALREADY!" Zoro ignores him. Ipponmatsu sighs, "LOOKS LIKE YOU GOT LUCKY BECAUSE OF THAT NOSY GIRL. IT'S EXACTLY AS SHE SAYS AND IT'S A DAMN SHAME THAT A GUY LIKE YOU WHO DOESN'T EVEN KNOW ITS TRUE VALUE IS ITS OWNER! THAT SWORD IS A MASTERWORK BLADE!" Zoro looks at Ipponmatsu and says, "THOSE BARRELS BACK THERE ARE FULL OF 50,000 BELI-SWORDS. SO PICK TWO YOU LIKE AND BRING'EM OVER HERE!" Zoro thinks to himself, "WHAT'S HE SO ANGRY ABOUT..." Tashigi finally recognizes Zoro. "AH! DIDN'T WE MEET EARLIER JUST NOW ON THE STREETS?"

Tashigi smiles at Zoro, asking, "SO YOU LOVE SWORDS, DO YOU? IF YOU DON'T MIND ME SAYING SO, YOUR 3 SWORDS REMIND ME OF A CERTAIN BOUNTY HUNTER!" Zoro looks away, feigning ignorance. "A CERTAIN BOUNTY HUNTER...? I'M TALKING OF RORONOA ZORO. DO YOU KNOW HIM?" As Zoro continues to dig through the barrel of cheap swords, Tashigi keeps talking. "I HAVE HEARD OF HIS NAME QUITE A BIT. YES, HE'S QUITE A FAMOUS SWORDSMAN HERE IN EAST BLUE. OR SHOULD I SAY, INFAMOUS? TO THINK THAT HE TREATS HIS SWORDS AS MERELY A MEANS OF MAKING MONEY... IT'S SIMPLY UNFORGIVABLE!" She looks serious as she continues, "WHY IS IT THAT THE EVIL ARE SO STRONG IN THIS DAY AND AGE...? ALL THE FAMOUS SWORDSMEN OF TODAY ARE EITHER PIRATES OR BOUNTY HUNTERS. AND THEY'RE THE ONES WHO POSSESS MOST OF THE WORLD'S MASTERWORK BLADES. THE SWORDS ARE CRYING, YOU KNOW."

Zoro smirks at Tashigi's speech. "WELL, PERHAPS THEY ALL HAVE THEIR OWN SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES, NO? OCCUPATIONS REFLECT THE NEEDS OF THE TIME, AFTER ALL." In the background, Ipponmatsu complains loudly. "I'D BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO WELCOME ANY CRIMINALS! I REMEMBER WHEN MY SHOP USED TO BE TEEMING WITH ALL SORTS OF PEOPLE TRYING TO ENTER THE GRAND LINE. BUT EVER SINCE THAT MONSTER WAS PLACED IN CHARGE OF THIS TOWN, I BARELY GET ANY CUSTOMERS ANYMORE!" Tashigi looks offended and defends her superior. "S-SMOKER IS NO MONSTER!" Ipponmatsu yells back, "HE'S A DEVIL FRUIT USER! THAT'S MORE THAN ENOUGH REASON TO CALL HIM A MONSTER!" Zoro looks surprised, repeating, "DEVIL FRUIT...?" Tashigi draws her sword, Shigure, and holds it up with determination. "IN ANY CASE... BEING A SWORDSMAN MYSELF, I VOW TO TRAIN HARDER AND HARDER WITH MY SHIGURE, SUCH THAT I CAN TRAVEL THE WORLD AND RETRIEVE ALL THE MASTERWORK BLADES FROM THE HANDS OF CRIMINALS! WHETHER IT BE THE 12 SUPREME-GRADE SWORDS, 21 GREAT-GRADE SWORDS, OR THE 50 SKILLFUL-GRADE SWORDS, I SHALL RISK MY LIFE TO RETRIEVE THEM!"

IT'S NOT THAT I WANT THESE SWORDS FOR MYSELF. I SIMPLY DETEST THE IDEA OF THEM BEING USED FOR EVIL." She then looks closely at the sword Zoro just pulled from the barrel. "HM... AH!? THAT SWORD IS...! I REMEMBER SEEING THIS IN MY BOOK BEFORE!" She points excitedly at the blade. "SANDAI KITETSU! YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY BUY THIS SWORD!" A note explains that the name literally means third generation demon cutter. Ipponmatsu looks on in shock.

Tashigi excitedly explains the sword's value to Zoro. "MISTER! ARE YOU REALLY SELLING THIS SWORD FOR ONLY 50,000!?" Ipponmatsu stammers nervously, "Y-YES..." Tashigi continues, "THAT'S AMAZING! THIS IS ANOTHER HIGH-GRADE SWORD! IT SHOULD NORMALLY BE SOLD FOR A MILLION BELI. ITS PREDECESSOR 'NIDAI KITETSU' IS ONE OF THE GREAT-GRADE SWORDS, WHILE 'SHODAI KITETSU' IS ONE OF THE SUPREME-GRADE SWORDS!" A note clarifies that the names mean second generation demon cutter and first generation demon cutter, respectively. Ipponmatsu suddenly yells, "NO, I CHANGED MY MIND! I CAN'T SELL THAT SWORD!" Tashigi is confused. "WHAT!? BUT WHY!?" Zoro holds the sword up, examining the blade. "IT'S CURSED, RIGHT?" Ipponmatsu looks shocked. "YOU KNEW...?" Zoro replies calmly, "NO... I COULD TELL....IT'S AS YOU SAID." Ipponmatsu explains, "BEGINNING WITH THE SHODAI KITETSU, THE KITETSU LINE OF BLADES ARE RENOWNED FOR THEIR QUALITY, BUT THEY'RE ALSO CURSED SWORDS!"

Ipponmatsu looks terrified, with a monstrous, skull-like aura depicted behind him to emphasize his fear. "MANY FAMOUS SWORDSMEN OF THE PAST HAVE SUFFERED TRAGIC DEATHS AFTER CARRYING AROUND THE KITETSU SWORDS. THAT'S WHY YOU WON'T FIND ANY SWORDSMEN WHO'D DARE TO USE A KITETSU THESE DAYS. EVEN IF A PERSON WAS UNAWARE OF THE CURSE BEHIND THESE SWORDS, THEY'D STILL END UP DEAD AFTER WIELDING ONE." He continues, sweating, "I WISH I COULD GET RID OF THAT DAMN SWORD, BUT I'M AFRAID OF BEING CURSED TOO..." Tashigi bows deeply in apology, saying, "F... FORGIVE ME! I HAD NO IDEA IT WAS SUCH A TERRIFYING SWORD, AND ENDED UP SAYING SOMETHING SO FOOLISH..." Ipponmatsu scolds her, "HMPH! Zoro grins fiercely. "THEN HOW ABOUT THIS? WHY DON'T WE TEST WHAT'S STRONGER? MY LUCK... OR ITS CURSE...?" Ipponmatsu's wife hits him and yells, "DON'T BE STUPID! JUST SELL THE DAMN THING ALREADY!" Ipponmatsu protests, "AGH! BUT HONEY!" Zoro tosses the Sandai Kitetsu high into the air, sending it spinning rapidly. He holds his left arm out straight, directly in the path of the falling blade. Tashigi and Ipponmatsu watch in absolute shock. Zoro says, "...IF I LOSE, THEN THAT JUST MEANS I WAS NEVER A MAN WHO'D AMOUNT TO ANYTHING SPECIAL..." The sword plummets towards his outstretched arm. Ipponmatsu screams in terror, "STOP! YOU'LL LOSE YOUR ARM! THAT SWORD'S SHARPNESS IS UNPARALLELED!" Tashigi gasps, "AHHH...!"

The Sandai Kitetsu falls rapidly, spinning end over end. In a tense moment, the blade slices through the air, passing mere millimeters from Zoro's outstretched arm, leaving him completely unharmed. The sword plunges deeply into the wooden floorboards. Zoro smiles confidently, his arm still extended. "I'LL TAKE IT!" Ipponmatsu collapses backward onto the floor, utterly stunned by what he just witnessed. Zoro casually tells him, "HEY, YOU. PICK ONE MORE SWORD OUT FOR ME."

Tashigi looks at Zoro in amazement, murmuring, "HMM? O-OK..." Ipponmatsu scrambles to his feet, looking determined. "HANG ON! WAIT RIGHT HERE! JUST..." He goes to the back of the shop and returns carrying a beautiful, ornate sword. "THIS IS A BLACK LACQUERED LONGSWORD WITH AN UNRAVELLED EDGE. ITS NAME IS 'YUBASHIRI,' ONE OF THE 50 SKILLFUL-GRADE SWORDS! I CAN PERSONALLY ATTEST TO ITS SHARPNESS! THIS IS THE BEST SWORD I HAVE. ALTHOUGH MY STORE MAY NOT BE MUCH," Zoro smiles and interrupts, "HAHA.. I CAN'T BUY THIS. I ALREADY TOLD YOU I HAVE NO MONEY." Ipponmatsu insists, "I'M NOT ASKING FOR ANY MONEY! JUST TAKE IT! AND OF COURSE, I WON'T ASK YOU TO PAY FOR SANDAI KITETSU EITHER. I APOLOGIZE FOR TRYING TO TRICK YOU BEFORE. IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I'VE SEEN A SWORDSMAN AS GOOD AS YOU. AS THEY SAY, THE SWORD CHOOSES ITS OWNER. SO I SHALL ALSO BELIEVE IN YOUR GOOD LUCK AND PRAY!"

Zoro walks out of the arms shop, now equipped with his three swords: Wado Ichimonji, Sandai Kitetsu, and Yubashiri. He stretches his arms, looking satisfied. "AHH... I FEEL MUCH BETTER WHEN I HAVE 3 SWORDS." Back inside the shop, Tashigi looks at Ipponmatsu in disbelief. "I'D NEVER HAVE IMAGINED A CHEAPSKATE LIKE YOU WOULD JUST WILLINGLY GIVE AWAY THE FAMILY HEIRLOOM." Ipponmatsu yells at her, "SILENCE, WOMAN!" He then looks proud, stating, "JUST WHAT'S WRONG WITH A MAN ENTRUSTING HIS DREAM TO ANOTHER MAN!? ALRIGHT, JUST GET TO CLEANING THE BATHTUB." His wife's voice calls out from off-screen, "YES, DEAR!" Tashigi slumps down, exhausted by the ordeal. "I CAN'T EVEN STAND UP AFTER THAT..."

At the Loguetown Marine Station, a Marine reports to Captain Smoker. "LOGUETOWN MARINE STATION. IS TASHIGI STILL NOT HERE!?" The Marine answers, "SERGEANT MAJOR TASHIGI HAS GONE TO PICK UP HER SWORD AT THE ARMS SHOP, SIR!" Smoker, smoking two cigars, looks annoyed. "JUST HOW MANY HOURS DOES SHE NEED TO DO THAT!? WE'VE GOT AN EYEWITNESS REPORT ABOUT PIRATES. GO BRING HER BACK IMMEDIATELY." The Marine salutes, "YES, CAPTAIN SMOKER!" Smoker thinks to himself, "DAMN THAT CLUMSY WOMAN... SHE'S THE SHAME OF THE MARINE HEADQUARTERS..." Meanwhile, in the streets of Loguetown, Sanji is walking around with heart-shaped eyes, admiring the local women. "OHHHHH! BIG TOWNS SURE ARE DIFFERENT!" He spots a beautiful woman from behind and calls out, "JUST LOOK AT THAT, BEAUTIFUL LADY!" The woman turns around, revealing herself to be Alvida, who is now slim and beautiful.
