Nightmare Luffy

In the forest, Luffy is brought before the enormous captain of the Rolling Pirates, "Proposal Lola." She leans toward him with overwhelming affection and cries, "Oh, my!! I love you!!!" then immediately proposes, "Let's get married!!!" Luffy refuses flatly: "No." Lola's crew reacts as if they have seen this countless times, shouting, "Refused again!! That makes 4444 times!!!" The introduction card identifies her as "Rolling Pirates' Captain 'Proposal Lola'" and notes her current proposal count as 4443. Once the gag passes, the victims explain why they stopped Luffy. "This is Captain Lola," they say. "We are a group of victims; we've all had our shadows taken and have wandered through this forest!!" Luffy confirms their urgency because he is shadowless too: "My shadow got taken too, so I'm in a hurry." The strangers know him already: "You're 'Strawhat Luffy,' right?"

The Rolling Pirates explain why they are so excited. Thriller Bark has never shaken like this before, and they know the Straw Hats are the reason. "Anyway, Thriller Bark has never been shaken like this before!!" they say. "The three enigmas who are with Moria have all been beaten, and the mansion is already half destroyed!!" They add, "We've been totally excited since you guys arrived!!" But the enemy has now awakened the special zombie. Through the "Victim Network," they have heard everything: if Luffy defeats Moria, all stolen shadows will return. Yet Luffy cannot simply reach Moria. They explain that Moria is "in that monster's stomach!!!" and Luffy realizes with a jolt, "What!? Did he get eaten!?" They correct him: "No!! He's riding in the stomach." The problem is brutal: unless the special zombie with Luffy's shadow is defeated, they cannot even lay a finger on Moria.

Luffy tries to cut through the explanation because time is running out. "Okay, I'm really in a hurry, so..." he starts, but Lola refuses to waste another second. "Stop right there!!! Let's stop this roundabout explanation!! It'll be faster to just show him!!" she shouts. She announces, "This is the shadows' secret that we discovered!!" A shadow is dragged forward while someone says, "Out of the way! Let's go!!" Luffy stares, confused: "Huh? A shadow?" The victims explain the crucial loophole. "Right! It's a shadow!! If we force a zombie to eat some salt, we can catch the shadows that come out with our hands!!" A captured shadow squirms as they hold it, yelling, "Gyaa, what're you doing, sticking that shadow!!!" and "Stay still!!" Someone else complains, "Hey, stop it! I feel kinda..." The group succeeds: "All right, it's in!!" Luffy asks, "So!? Are you feeling okay?" and tests himself, but when asked, "Can you handle a sword?" he admits, "... No, I can't."

The shadow takes hold inside Luffy with a violent jolt. He grabs a sword and swings it with sudden mastery, cutting apart targets in a flash while the victims cheer, "Whooaa!!" Luffy barely understands what happened and asks, "Huh!? What happened!?" Lola explains, "Ufufufu, that shadow we put in you belonged to a formidable marine swordsman!!!" All of that shadow's fighting ability has been added to his strength. The trick does not stop there. "Plus, as long as your spirit can take it, we can insert as many shadows as we want!!" she says. "Pretty cool, right!?" Lola reveals their plan: they will use Moria's own ability and make Luffy several times stronger. They have already caught plenty of shadows, but she warns him that if he lacks the spirit to handle them, he will lose consciousness and the strength will disappear like a bubble.

Luffy asks the obvious question: "Why do you guys have all these shadows?" The victims answer that while searching for their own shadows, they have also been purifying zombies and freeing shadows from random people. "So we started capturing them!!" one says. Another gives the rule clearly: "Listen closely, and don't forget this!! If you put a shadow into a corpse, it becomes a zombie." But when a shadow is placed in a living human with a soul, it cannot stay forever. The power-up lasts about ten minutes, then the shadows leave and return to their original owners. Lola gives Luffy the scale of their gamble: "We're giving you all of the shadows we've got!!!" The victims pour them into him at once, shouting, "Wow!! So many!" Luffy yells from inside the surge, "Whoa, wait!! Going on would be...!! Gyaa..." while Lola urges, "You've got to hurry!!" and someone hopes, "You should be able to take 20 or 30 shadows."

The victims keep feeding Luffy shadows until the number becomes absurd. One says, "This man... just how strong is his spirit...!?" Another stares in awe: "This is amazing. I've never seen anything like it..." They finally admit, "Hyaa, we put all 100 shadows in him...!!" and call it "Unbelievable!!!" Their hope rests entirely on him now: "That's our ray of hope!!" From inside the dark mass of power, Luffy's voice answers, "Yeah... it's me...!!!" He can still speak and still hold himself together, but the power is overflowing. "The power... it's overflowing!! I can't stop it!!!" he says. "I'm aching to get into a fight!!!" The group looks up at his changed form and whispers that he looks a little different. Lola sends him off: "This might work!! Okay, there's no time!! Go show Moria a 'nightmare'!!! You're our ray of hope, Nightmare Luffy~!!!" Luffy launches himself away with a massive "Yeeeaaahh!!!" even as someone warns, "Wait! The mansion is the other way!!!"

Back at the mansion, Oars continues to fight with Luffy's techniques under Moria's control. Moria calls, "Gomu Gomu--" and Oars springs into a brutal "Bell"!!! His head stretches and slams downward, crushing the battlefield while the crew scatters with screams of "Gwaaaahh!!!" and "Uwoo." Oars laughs like Luffy, "Shishi-shishi," delighted by the strange feeling. "It feels great when my body stretches!!" he says. He immediately follows with "Spear"!!! driving his stretched limbs through the rubble and sending the crew flying. Someone shouts, "Here it comes!!!" as the giant body coils and snaps forward again. The whole page shows what Moria's trick has created: not a rubber man, but a giant corpse able to mimic Luffy's rubber attacks at catastrophic scale.

The Straw Hats scramble through the destruction, stunned by the sudden increase in Oars's reach and strength. Someone curses, "Damn...!!" while another says, "What's going on! His attacks are so much stronger now!!!" Sanji understands the contradiction: "Oz doesn't have that power, but he still stretched. What did you do, Moria!?" Moria laughs from the cockpit, "Kishishishishi!! That's right! This is the nightmare I'll show you!!" He names the technique: "The Kage Kage power, Shadow Revolution!!!" Chopper pants nearby, realizing the implications. Oars repeats in confusion, "Revolution?" while Moria begins his explanation: "The 'shadow' is subordinate to the 'body.' That is common knowledge...!! The body and the shadow must have the same shape... That is a law of nature." The law is true, but Moria's power lets him twist it.

Moria explains the nightmare fully. Oars's shadow should be following Oars, but now that shadow "has been possessed by my shadow and is under my control!!" Moria can change the shape of Oars's shadow, and because body and shadow must match, the body is forced to change too. He demonstrates by warping the shadow into strange forms and says, "Rather than the shadow changing to match the body, the body matches the shadow and transforms!! That is 'Shadow Revolution'!" The crew finally understands why Oars is stretching without becoming a rubber man. Moria is stretching Oars's shadow arms and legs, which causes Oars's limbs to stretch as well. Sanji sums up the horror: Oars has not become rubber, yet he can freely transform his body. With a giant body like that, he says, "Give me a break already!! We can't approach him at all!!!"

Moria pushes the technique further, laughing, "Kishishishi, he's more trouble than just rubber!!" He flattens and rounds Oars's shadow, explaining, "If I make his shadow round, then Oz becomes round!!!" Oars is helplessly reshaped into a massive ball, startled by his own body with "Huh!?" Moria sends him rolling through the ruins as "Oz Ball"!!! while the crew screams, "Whoaa!!" and "Waaaaaa!!!" Oars himself begs from inside the movement, "Hey, hey!! Wait a second, master!!! Please don't mess with my fight!!" Moria apologizes without sincerity, "Kishishishi, my apologies...!! I didn't mean to interfere...!!" Then he turns cruel again: "I only wanted to help. Now, crush them one by one, Oz!!" The technique is not just power; it is Moria's complete control over the giant's body.

Oars barrels through the battlefield, and Zoro can only watch the danger grow. Someone shouts, "It's too dangerous to approach him, Zoro!!" while Zoro stares in tense silence. Nami arrives with the Clima-Tact, asking, "Hey!! Where's Luffy!?" Usopp answers that Luffy probably got tricked by Moria and is off somewhere. Nami's thoughts race: "What should I do? Should I tell the others... in this situation... that there's another Shichibukai on the island!?" She knows Kuma's presence would add another disaster to the pile. For now, Usopp reduces their options to the immediate crisis: they need to beat the Luffy zombie as well as Moria and get everyone's shadows back before morning. Brook suddenly interrupts, "Excuse me!!! Please listen to my request!!!" and Usopp is startled: "Waah!! You're here too, skeleton!?"

Usopp balks at Brook's proposal after seeing what happened to Franky. "Are you crazy!? Brook, you saw what happened to Franky, didn't you!?" he yells. Brook answers calmly, "It's no problem...!!" and Robin agrees to help. Nami warns, "Don't hold me responsible for this!! If this is what you want, then I'll do it!! Get ready!!" She creates a storm setup with "Dark Cloud Tempo"!!! while Brook braces himself for a painful launch. "There would be nothing more painful than being unable to repay my debt!!!" he says. "Didn't think I'd be using 'Kuwagata' again!" someone remarks as the same improvised launcher is prepared. Robin says, "Please, go ahead!!!" Brook vows, "I won't even spare my bones!!!" and Nami warns, "Okay!! Make sure you come back!!!" Brook answers, "I'll do my best!!!" as the launch fires with "Banshuu!!"

The counterattack begins in layers. Robin creates a spiraling path of arms with "Slalom Vine"!! and Brook rides the launch through it, laughing "Yohohoho!!" as he is hurled toward Oars. Lightning crackles around him, and he jokes even mid-attack: "I'm getting shocked so much that you can see my bones!!! Even though I was only bones to begin with!!!" Then he draws his sword and calls, "Here we go!! Like an arrow of lightning!!!" Brook uses "Rai Kotsu Ken" - Lightning Bone Sword - and cuts into Oars with a charged thrust. At nearly the same time, Robin's coordinated movement sets up the next strike, "Gavotte Bond Avant"!!! The attack pierces Oars's massive body, creating a hole and finally giving the crew a direct route through him.

Brook's attack works better than anyone expected. Usopp stares and shouts, "Amazing!!! That went right through him!!! There's a hole in him!!!" Oars howls, "Aaaagh!!! It pierced my shoulder!!!" and the crew sees the opening they needed. Someone yells, "Keep on attacking!!!" Brook, scorched and battered, falls back with a faint "... Mission complete," while Zoro acknowledges him: "Well done, bones...!!" Zoro immediately follows with a two-sword technique, "NitouRyuu, 'Nigiri.'" He launches himself up Oars's body with "Tourou"!!! slicing vertically through the giant's shoulder path as Oars screams, "Dwa!!!" The coordinated strike turns Brook's self-sacrifice into a real breach, and Zoro widens that breach before Moria can fully recover.

Oars starts another "Gomu Gomu..." attack, but the crew presses him before he can regain rhythm. Someone says, "Why, you...!!" and then realizes, "No... first is taking care of this skeleton!!!" Oars swings down with "Battle Axe"!!! aiming to crush Brook. The giant foot drops like a falling building, and the crew screams, "Brook!!!" But while Oars focuses downward, Usopp fires another shot: "Hissatsu, 'Atlas Suisei'!!!" The projectile arcs toward the giant with a sharp "!" from Nami watching nearby. The page shows the crew fighting in overlapping roles: Oars tries to finish Brook, while Usopp uses that moment to launch another desperate strike through the narrow window the others created.

Usopp's "Atlas Suisei" detonates around Oars, but Moria laughs through the blasts. "Did you think that would work!?" he demands as the explosions burst harmlessly across the monster's scale. Then he turns the giant's attention on Usopp. "You're next, long-nosed guy!!!" Moria says, and someone shouts, "Fight, Usopp!!" Oars begins "Gomu Gomu..." while Usopp panics, "Oh my God, he's aiming for me." Oars launches a "Bazooka"!!! with both arms stretching toward him. Usopp screams, "Gyaaa!!! I'm dead!" But at the last moment Oars's arms stop short. The giant mutters, "Hmmp?" and realizes, "I'm not stretching." The interruption means someone has disrupted Moria's manipulation before the killing blow can land.

Robin reveals the interruption. From below, she calmly forms "Ochenta Fleur, Cuatro Manos" - eighty flowers, four hands - and commands, "Hold"!!! Her sprouted hands catch Moria inside Oars's stomach, clamping around him and forcing his shadow-manipulating hands still. Moria jerks in shock: "Nunununu...!!" and then cries, "What!? What're these hands!!" Robin's grip tightens with a "Gachi!!" while he rages, "How annoying!!!" Chopper cheers from below, "Yeah!! Good job, Robin!!! Break him, just like that!!!" Robin keeps her voice steady and asks Moria directly, "Could I ask that you stop manipulating shadows for a bit...?" Moria, trapped and irritated, can only glare and answer with a stunned "Huh?"
