Clumsy

The spiky-haired man insists, "I ONLY NEED A LITTLE MORE TIME... I STILL HAVE WORK LEFT TO FINISH. I HAVE TO FINISH THE WORK I'VE SPENT OVER 30 YEARS ON." A woman with goggles responds, "OHI I'M SURPRISED A QUACK DOCTOR CAN ACTUALLY FIGURE OUT HOW LONG HE'S GOT." She adds, "IT MIGHT BE A LOT EASIER AND LESS PAINFUL IF YOU JUST BIT THE DUST ALREADY," while laughing "HEE HEE HEE HEE..." The man growls, "STILL CAN'T LET GO." In an indoor laboratory, the woman stands holding a bottle and asks, "WHY DON'T YOU GO TO THAT COUNTRY OUT IN THE FAR WEST AGAINI" A voice answers, "IF YOU WANT TO LIVE SO BADLY..."

The goggled woman leans forward with a wide grin and says, "MAYBE THERE, YOU CAN SEE YOUR LITTLE 'MIRACLE CHERRY BLOSSOMS' AGAIN... THE ONES THAT SAVED THE GREAT THIEF HILULUK..." The spiky-haired man retorts angrily, "RIDICULOUS... DID YOU FORGET THIS IS A WINTER-ISLAND WHERE IT'S FREEZING COLD ALL YEAR LONGI AIN'T NO CHERRY BLOSSOMS EVER GONNA BLOOM HERE!" He continues, "BECAUSE I'LL BRING THE CHERRY BLOSSOMS HERE TO THIS ISLAND INSTEAD...! THERE'S NO USE FOR THAT," while she laughs. In close-up he declares with fierce determination, "I WAS PERSONAL WITNESS TO ITS MIRACULOUS HEALING POWERS! THEY WILL BLOOM! THOSE CHERRY BLOSSOMS NOT ONLY SAVED THE WORTHLESS LIFE OF A CROOK, BUT CLEANSED HIS VERY SOUL..."

In a cozy circular room, Hiriluk stands tall and declares, "I'LL SHOW THAT IT'S POSSIBLE TO SAVE ANYONE IN THIS WORLD!" He continues, "BUT I NEED TIME... JUST A LITTLE TIME...!" and adds, "SUCH MIRACLES ARE INDEED A REALITY IN THIS WORLD OF OURS! AND I WANT TO PROVE IT ON THIS ISLAND WHERE I WAS BORN!" Outside in the snowy forest, a small figure leaps with "LEAP!" as Hiriluk stares through a round window and states, "EVEN IF CHERRY BLOSSOMS DID BLOOM HERE, THE PEOPLE WILL REMAIN UNCHANGED." A woman with goggles questions, "WHAT YOU'RE TRYING TO DO IS NEITHER MEDICINE NOR SCIENCE. YOU JUST DON'T KNOW WHEN TO CALL IT QUITS, DO YA...I" Inside again, the same woman asks, "WHAT...I IT'S FOLLOWING MEI" while a large silhouette replies, "IT'S BEEN TRYING TO KEEP ITSELF HIDDEN... LOOKS LIKE IT... IT'S BEEN LURKING OUTSIDE MY HOUSE EVER SINCE YOU CAME." Hiriluk notes, "BY THE WAY... WHAT IS THAT WEIRD MONSTER THAT SEEMS TO BE FOLLOWING YOU...I"

A small bear-like figure runs frantically through the snow with repeated "たたたたたた" sound effects. The figure dashes past trees as snow falls heavily. Inside the room, the woman with goggles reflects, "SO AFTER A YEAR OF LIVING WITH HIM, YOU SUDDENLY CHASED HIM AWAY..." while Hiriluk listens with arms crossed and responds, "I SEE..."

Hiriluk questions intensely, "OR WOULD YOUR RATHER HAVE HIM SINK EVEN DEEPER INTO GRIEF!I DIE RIGHT BEFORE HIS EYES...!I IF HE WATCHED THE ONLY FRIEND HE EVER HAD IN HIS ENTIRE LIFE, IT WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO! JUST THINK HOW HE WOULD FEEL!" He then shouts with a fierce close-up, "THAT ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE FOR EVEN HIM...! I'LL PROVE THAT BY MAKING THE CHERRY BLOSSOMS BLOOM! WE'RE CUT FROM THE SAME CLOTH... BUT... NO... IT'S PRECISELY BECAUSE OF THAT I WANT TO TEACH HIM." The woman with goggles warns, "BUT! THAT'S ONLY IF YOU HAD THE CASH TO AFFORD IT, WHICH I HIGHLY DOUBT. ALTHOUGH THE GERM THAT'S INFECTED YOU HAS NO REMEDY, WITH MY MEDICAL SKILLS, I CAN MANAGE TO TRICK YOUR BODY INTO LETTING YOU LIVE FOR 3 MORE WEEKS...! LISTEN CAREFULLY. YOU'LL DIE FOUR DAYS FROM NOW AT 5:30P.M. THAT IS YOUR LIMIT."

Hiriluk lunges forward with a gun, yelling "SHUT UP AND GIVE ME THE DAMN TREATMENT ALREADY!" as large "ガバッチャ" sound effects explode. The woman with goggles stands firm with crossed arms. In smaller panels she says, "LET ME SEE EXACTLY WHAT IT IS, YOU CAN OFFER TO THIS COUNTRY AS A DOCTOR... BUT WHATEVER. I'LL AGREE TO TREAT YOU. YOU THINK YOU CAN KILL A PERSON WITH A MERE TRANQUILIZERI" Hiriluk glares back intensely. In the final panel the woman smiles and concludes, "CLUMSY BEYOND HELP... BOTH OF YOU REALLY ARE CUT FROM THE SAME CLOTH..."

Explosions and rapid gunfire echo through the snowy forest as Chopper stands frozen near a tree. Massive onomatopoeia "ドドドオオオ" and "ガバンッ！！" shake the panels while smaller "たたたたたた" sounds trail across the ground. Chopper's eyes widen in shock. He begins running frantically through the trees, sweat flying, with repeated "たたたたたた" and "よろ" as his small body stumbles forward. A close-up shows his face twisted in panic. He trips and tumbles across the snow with more impact sounds "ガバンッ！！" and "たたたた". In the final panels Chopper is knocked backward by another blast, landing hard as a small bird flies away and "ゴロゴロ..." rumbles in the distance.

Inside a cluttered room filled with books and barrels, Chopper frantically flips through pages with repeated "FLIP" sounds while large "ドドドオオオ" and "ヒュオオオ" echo from outside. A massive close-up captures Chopper's terrified face. The scene cuts to a man aiming a large gun directly at him; two speech bubbles declare "JUST MAKE SURE YOU NEVER SHOW YOUR FACE AROUND HERE EVER AGAIN!" and "GET LOST! I DON'T CARE IF YOU LEAVE FOR THE SEAS OR WHEREVER!" Chopper turns and flees into the snowy woods as more "ヒュオオオ" sounds chase him.

Chopper continues running through the snowy landscape amid constant "サク サク" footsteps and distant "ヒュオオオ" sounds. A tall figure looms in the background. A dramatic close-up shows the gunman's face with radiating lines as he shouts "EVER SHOOT YOU!" and "I WOULD NEVER,". Chopper looks back over his shoulder in fear. The sequence ends with Chopper approaching a dark cave entrance in the mountains, small and alone against the vast snowy peaks.

Inside a wrecked laboratory, a cloaked figure stands amid scattered books and equipment as "ヒュオオオオオオ..." fills the air. A close-up reveals the man's intense face; he says "CHOPPER..." then "FORGIVE ME,". He grips a bubbling flask and declares "MY LAST AND GREATEST WORK..." followed by "BUT AT THE VERY LEAST, I WANT YOU TO WITNESS MY CHERRY BLOSSOMS,". The mixture erupts violently with a blinding flash and the scream "A GHHHHH!" as the man clutches his chest in agony, syringes visible in his hands.

In a snowy mountain pass, massive impact sounds shake the cliffs as debris flies. Chopper in his black hat stands firm in the distance while a small figure watches from afar. A close-up reveals Chopper's wide-eyed shock, "!!I". Nearby, a cloaked figure tends a bubbling pot and mutters, "DAMN, IT'S THE SAME AS USUAL!". A pirate flag with skull and crossbones appears as a voice declares, "WITH THIS FLAG, I SHALL FIGHT ON LIKE A TRUE PIRATE!". In a dynamic clash, Chopper is hurled back amid "キィン" impacts. The flag waves proudly while narration states, "THAT'S WHAT I TAUGHT CHOPPER!" and "FOR A MAN WITH A PIRATE'S FLAG BEHIND HIS BACK, IMPOSSIBILITY IS AN IMPOSSIBILITY!".

Chopper peers through a telescope and exclaims, "THAT MUST BE IT!". Close-ups reveal a rare mushroom as voices discuss, "THE AMIIIDAKE MUSHROOM..." and "YES, APPARENTLY THERE'S SOME RARE MUSHROOM IN THIS KINGDOM THAT CAN BE USED TO PREPARE SOME SORT OF PANACEA...". Chopper wonders aloud, "BUT HOW DO I GET THERE...I". A sudden massive impact "ドドドドドド" erupts from the cliffs. Below, Chopper reacts with "!I" as a distant voice calls "CLARE" amid the reindeer herd.

One week after the previous events, a massive impact shakes the snowy landscape as something huge crashes down. Inside a small cabin, an old man with wild hair knocks on the door, calling out 'KNOCK KNOCK!' A figure inside coughs violently. 'COUGH! COUGH COUGH...' The door bursts open with a 'SMASH' as the old man enters. In the next moment, the wild-haired man stares in horror at the transformed creature before him. 'W-WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU!I' he cries. The small reindeer-like figure, now larger and more monstrous, shouts back in panic, 'C-CHOPPER!'

Chopper stands alone holding a mushroom, declaring simply 'MUSHROOM.' Small sound effects show him trembling, 'ずる...ずる'. In a series of memory panels, a tiny Chopper pleads desperately to the old man: 'SO PLEASE LIVE AND TEACH ME HOW TO BECOME ONE!' 'I WANT TO BECOME A DOCTOR TOO...!' The old man responds, 'PLEASE LIVE, DOCTOR...' Chopper continues, 'THAT'S... THE AMILDAKE MUSHROOM...' The old man asks in shock, 'DID YOU... PICK IT FOR MY SAKE...I' A small note adds, 'THAT IS, IF IT'S POSSIBLE FOR A REINDEER TO LEARN...'

In a grand throne room, a stern man in a black coat protests, 'WHY MUST WE GO TO SUCH UNETHICAL LENGTHS FOR THESE "DOCTOR-HUNTS"...!I I OPPOSE!' The king on the throne roars, 'SILENCE FOOL! I NEVER ASKED FOR YOUR OPINION, DALTON!' He continues, 'AS SUCH, IT'S ONLY NATURAL THAT HE SHOULD BE EXECUTED AT ONCE! NOW IF YOU UNDERSTAND, THEN YOU'LL CARRY OUT THE PLAN AT ONCE! THAT'S AN ORDER!' Guards stand by as the king adds, 'BESIDES, HILULUK IS NOTHING BUT A CRIMINAL! MY HIPPO WOULD KNOW MORE ABOUT THE HIPPO-CRATIC OATH THAN THAT QUACK!' Later, Chopper kneels in the snow, clutching his head in despair. 'HOW COULD SOMEONE SO KIND BE UNABLE TO BECOME A DOCTOR...!I' A voice answers gently, 'OF COURSE YOU CAN, CHOPPER.'
