The Marines ask where the reinforcements sent to the eastern port are, and a soldier admits that almost all squads have been put out of commission. Something odd is happening to the Marines: bullets and gunpowder have been stolen right out of their rifles, and all weapons, including swords, pistols, axes, spears and knives, have vanished. At the eastern port, the pirate allies laugh over a huge pile of weapons; someone says they cannot help but think the weapons were stolen by someone, while the Tontatta and allies look pleased.

The ships docked at the port are stuck together as if sewn into place, so they are simply unable to set sail; sailors warn not to unfurl the sails or they will capsize. Helpers try to cut the threads and separate the ships, joking that they would love to if their knives had not disappeared. Others wonder how steel can be stitched to steel. At the same time, the soldiers who collapsed earlier are still unable to move, and Maynard yells in frustration, "What in the seven hells are you buffoons doing-dara!?"

Marines complain that the criminals are all shackled at the eastern port and ask if they intend to let them go scot-free, but others tell them to redouble their efforts. Manjerry worries that the soldiers will collapse if the healing takes too much out of them, but the helpers have permission from Lord Kyros and say to do as old Monjii says. The people of the country say strange things like this still happen and that the grapevine says fairies are at work. They still need help, but apologize because their Kenpopo session is short on troops.
At the entrance to the eastern port, the fleeing allies rush toward the harbor. One points out the harbor is ahead, while another tells them to hold out until Luffy-senpai and Trafalgar get there. Bartolomeo insists his barrier can stop anything thrown at it, but an ally asks whether his barrier is going to work against the incoming threat. Bartolomeo quickly spits out his barrier, making clacking SFX, while another asks whether anyone wants some. The scene cuts from the pursuit back toward Law and Sengoku.

In a flashback, Sengoku hears of a boy with white lead syndrome and asks whether there are still survivors from the white city. Rosinante says the boy hates this world and everything in it, and that he reminds Sengoku too much of his brother as a child. Rosinante feels sorry for the lad, but says there is little they can do because white lead syndrome is not treatable. He tells Sengoku not to lend him too much of his shoulder or he will give himself away. Sengoku says he is aware and has not lost sight of his purpose: to stop his brother.
Rosinante declares that Doflamingo is a violent, merciless man and says, "I won't let him sully Dressrosa with his hands!" Near the eastern port, Law and Sengoku stand among the ruins. Sengoku says that once upon a time a certain Marine died. Law asks whether Rosinante had any relatives, and Sengoku says Rosinante held a special place in his heart; they met when Rosinante was a child and Sengoku thought of him as his son. Sengoku also says Rosinante had a stronger sense of justice than most and was a trustworthy subordinate, but only once in his life did he lie to Sengoku.
The flashback shows Sengoku demanding, "Rosinante! Why are you on that island?!" as the Marines report that code-name Corazon is sending visuals and that a Donquixote Family executive's body has been found among the casualties. Sengoku explains that during the incident that day, four things vanished: the Barrels pirate crew, his subordinate's life, the Ope Ope no Mi, and the boy with white lead syndrome who was part of the Donquixote Family. Law reveals, "That's me." Sengoku says he suspected betrayal, but for valid reason.
Law asks whether Rosinante died while trying to cure him and in reaching the Ope Ope no Mi. Sengoku says he surmised as much and that Rosinante abandoned his mission for half a year for Law's sake. Law says Rosinante took him from hospital to hospital and they were supposed to run away together. He says he owes that man his life and heart and that Rosinante was his savior in every sense of the word; Law lived for the day he could take Doflamingo's head in Rosinante's stead. He then asks Sengoku whether Rosinante knew anything about D, since Law too has that hidden name.
Sengoku concludes that Rosinante almost certainly did not save Law for his name and tells him not to sully Rosinante's love with imagined requirements or conditions. He notes that those of the D always lead lives steeped in tragedy. Sengoku says that if Law were still serving, he would throw him in the brig and question him at length, but instead says it is strange that the only person with whom he can share memories of Rosinante would be a pirate. Sengoku asks Law to remember him, tells him that alone is enough, and says Rosinante would probably have said, "Just keep on living."

The scene returns to the port as debris begins to rise into the sky around Fujitora. Law and the others react in shock: "What the--!?" The allies realize the debris is flying upward and that Fujitora intends to use those things as weapons. Bartolomeo screams for his mother and says this is going to leave a mark. Others grunt and stare as huge chunks of rubble float overhead with SFX rumbling around them.

Fujitora lifts an enormous mass of wreckage, rubble and broken buildings over the eastern port. He says it was tiresome seeing it all littered everywhere, so he thought he would make some use of it. The allies identify it as Admiral Fujitora's doing: all the rubble from throughout the country has been gathered in the sky above the eastern port. Vice Admiral Bastille and O-Tsuru react in alarm. Bastille orders all Marine squads to withdraw from the eastern port and evacuate to a safe location immediately, saying reinforcements are no longer needed there.

The allies beg not to get in Admiral Isshou's way and wonder whether he intends to take out the pirates with that abomination. One asks who will save them if not Straw Hat. Bartolomeo, Rebecca and others worry that the escape operation will go up in flames and that they must aid Usoland. At that moment Luffy and Law arrive, breathless. The crew yells for everyone to hurry to the ship, and Law complains to Luffy, "We were waiting for you two, damn it! Where the hell have you been, Trafa--!" Luffy snaps that Law is always sitting around with his thumbs up his ass and tells everyone to get ready to set sail.

Bartolomeo spots Luffy and cheers, "Whoa! Luffy-senpai!" The allies hurry toward the ship and plan to maneuver around Fujitora. They shout that Straw Hat and Law are both here. Luffy, still panting, notices Fujitora and calls, "Oi! Mr. Gambler!" Fujitora answers, "So you've finally come, Straw Hat!" and prepares a "fistful of tropical punch." Luffy begins to move toward him, confusing the others because they expected him to maneuver around the admiral.

The allies warn that Fujitora is an admiral, but Luffy refuses to keep running. He says they will beat him someday and then asks why they have to run, swearing he left that habit behind two years ago. Luffy declares, "I don't give a damn who! I'm gonna blast 'em all away! Yonkou, Marine admirals, 'cause that's what a true Pirate King would do!" He inflates his arm with SFX and launches a giant Haki-coated fist toward Fujitora, shocking the crowd as the chapter ends with the question of whether this is his resolve for a battle against an admiral.
