Three small figures dash down a village road, leaving a trail of dust with the sound effect “たったったった…”. The Usopp Pirates burst into view: Ninjin points forward yelling “CAPTAIN BROUGHT THE PIRATES HERE!”, Piiman replies “YUP, I SAW THEM”, while Tamanegi asks “HEY TAMANEGI! DID THE PIRATES REALLY GO INTO THIS SHOPI” with SFX “ささっ!!”. Inside the shop doorway the boys argue fiercely. Ninjin declares “THIS IS GOING TO BE THE MOST DANGEROUS BATTLE SINCE WE STARTED THE ‘USOPP PIRATE GROUP’!”, Piiman shouts “IDIOT! IT'S ONIBABA THAT EATS PEOPLE!! NINJIN, YOU MUST BE WILLING TO DIE!”, and Tamanegi cries “BUT REAL PIRATES ARE SAVAGES, HE MIGHT HAVE BEEN EATEN…!! WE MUST SAVE HIM!!” A footnote explains “ONIBABA MEANS DEMON HAG OR WITCH”.

The boys slam open the shop door with loud SFX “ばん!!” and “ばん”, shouting “IS USOPP HERE!!” and “USOPP PIRATE GROUP…”. Inside, Luffy in a straw hat and Nami sit at a table. The kids stare in shock. One boy exclaims “IT CAN'T BE THAT… HE'S BEEN EATEN UP…!!!” while another asks “HEY… CAPTAIN ISN'T HERE…”. Luffy looks puzzled, Nami glances sideways. The Usopp Pirates then point weapons at Luffy, yelling “GIVE US BACK OUR CAPTAIN!!”, “WHAT DID YOU DO TO OUR CAPTAIN USOPPI!”, and “H… HEY PIRATES!!” with SFX “ばん” and “ん”.

Luffy grins widely while eating, declaring “WHAT A DELICIOUS MEAT!” and “YUM YUM!” with SFX “ぎくっ!!” and “プロロ…”. The boys react in horror: “HUH… MEAT…I!”, “HE…HE ATE THE CAPTAIN…I!”, and “CHIHI!”. A close-up shows a spiky-haired man smirking and stating “ATE HIM” with SFX “どーん”. The Usopp Pirates panic, shouting “WH… WHATI! WHAT DID YOU DO…!I”, “YOUR CAPTAIN …”, and “WE JUST…”. The scene erupts into chaos as the boys scream “HAHAHAHAHAHA!! WHY DID YOU TELL THEM THOSE WEIRD THINGS!I!”, “WHY ARE YOU LOOKING AT MEI!”, and “GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!! ONIBABA!! AAAAA…!!!” with SFX “BAM!” and “ぎゃー”. Nami and Luffy remain at the table amid the uproar.

Inside a small shop, a boy with a striped shirt recounts the story to his friends. "YUP... AFTER HE SAID THAT, HE LEFT THE SHOP," he says. A girl wonders aloud, ""IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN"...I" Outside the window, three children peer in. Luffy, wearing his straw hat, leans forward and asks, "WHY DOES HE GO THEREI" The boy replies, "YUP." The group discusses the mansion where the sick girl lives. "MANSIONI THE PLACE WHERE THE SICK GIRL LIVESI" one asks. Another concludes, "OH, SO IT WAS TIME TO GO TO THE MANSION." Luffy reacts with shock, "EEEHI" The three children cheer in unison: "YES!! IT'S VERY GOOD!!" "NA!" "THAT'S NOT BAD! ACTUALLY, IT'S GREAT!" One of them adds, "ISN'T THAT A BAD THING TO DOI" while another finishes, "TO TELL LIES!"

A grand mansion stands outside the village. Kaya's voice wonders, "...TALK TO USOPP AGAINI" A tall butler in a dark uniform stands before the gate, replying, "SO, YOU WANT TO..." Kaya insists, "WHAT'S WRONG WITH THATI I WANT TO TALK TO HIM." The butler, identified by a sign as "BUTLER OF THE MANSION CLAHADORE," grows stern. "HE'S THE BIGGEST LIAR IN THE VILLAGE! IF YOU TALK TO HIM..." he warns. Kaya protests, "NO! HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I TOLD YOU," but Klahadore continues, "YOU MIGHT CATCH HIS BAD INFLUENCE...." A large "EEK" sound effect punctuates Kaya's surprise.

Kaya sits up in her large bed inside the mansion. "YES, CALL ME WHATEVER YOU WANT, BUT I'M NOT CHANGING MY MIND," she tells the butler firmly. A small bubble reads "PETTY!" A caption identifies her as "MANSION'S OWNER KAYA." Klahadore pleads, "THAT I MUST PROTECT KAYA-OJOUSAMA... PLEASE LISTEN TO ME... WHEN YOUR PARENTS PASSED AWAY, THEY SPECIFICALLY INSTRUCTED ME..." Kaya answers, "BUT I'M FEELING OKAY!" Klahadore counters, "TO A WEAK YOUNG OJOUSAMA LIKE YOU, USOPP'S WEIRD STORIES ARE JUST TOO EXCITING." Sound effects "SRET" mark his gestures as he bows respectfully.

Kaya looks out the window at the distant guards. "THEY'RE THERE TO ENSURE YOUR SAFETY," Klahadore explains. "THAT IS WHY I HIRED SOME GUARDS." Kaya murmurs, "I KNOW..." Klahadore presses on, "ALL THIS IS FOR YOUR OWN GOOD, OJOUSAMA!" with repeated "SRET" sounds. Kaya turns away as the door slams shut with "SLAM...!" Klahadore places medicine on a table and says, "I'LL PUT YOUR MEDICINE HERE, PLEASE TAKE IT." Kaya replies softly, "OKAY..." He finishes with relief, "I'M GLAD YOU UNDERSTAND."

Kaya smiles from her window as Usopp arrives. "USOPP-SAN..." she calls. A voice notes, "KNOCK KNOCK..." Kaya continues, "YOU HAD THAT DEPRESSED LOOK AGAIN." Usopp hides under a checkered cloth. Later, Usopp sits under a tree outside the mansion. "IT'S NOT LIKE YOU ARE A BAD PERSON BUT CLAHADOR WON'T ALLOW IT..." Kaya says from the window. Usopp replies, "NEVER MIND, I FEEL COMFORTABLE HERE. THE SOMBERNESS OF THE ROOM WILL SUFFOCATE ME. I'M SORRY. I WANTED TO TREAT YOU LIKE A PROPER GUEST..." In close-up, Usopp grins widely and declares, "A BRAVE WARRIOR OF THE SEA! BECAUSE I'M..."

Usopp continues his tale under the tree: "ABOUT THE TIME WHEN I WAS FIVE AND FOUGHT WITH A SOUTHERN GIANT GOLD-FISH......!!" Kaya leans forward, asking, "LET'S SEE, TODAY I WILL TELL YOU... ARE YOU GOING TO TELL ME TODAYI SO WHICH ADVENTURE..." She giggles, "へへへ." Kaya covers her mouth laughing as Usopp describes, "I THOUGHT IT WAS LAND AND EVEN DOCKED THERE...... THE MOST AMAZING THING WAS ITS FECES, IT WAS VERY VERY BIG AND VERY VERY LONG." Luffy bursts in with shock lines, yelling "GOLD-FISHI" and "HE'S A GREAT GUY!" while Kaya reacts with surprise. "WOW!" Luffy exclaims.

Inside, the Usopp Pirates discuss Usopp. "I LIKE HIS 'NOSINESS'" one says. "YUP." Kaya explains, "HE'S BEEN GOING FOR A YEAR TO AMUSE HER WITH MADE UP TALESI SO TO RESTORE HER SPIRITS," while the kids react. "YEAH, AND IT'S ALL THANKS TO THE CAPTAIN! SO THE LADY IS FEELING BETTER ALREADYI" "WHAT KIND OF STRONG POINTS ARE THOSEI" "I LIKE HIS 'LIES'!!" "I LIKE THE CAPTAIN'S 'COWARD-ICE'." Luffy suddenly stands and shouts, "NO!! DIDN'T YOU JUST SAY YOU'D GIVE IT UPI THEN WE SHALL GO TO THE MANSION AND ASK FOR A SHIP!!! ALL RIGHT!!" SFX: DO--N and impact lines emphasize his outburst. Kaya looks shocked.

Luffy's group arrives at the mansion gate. "PLEASE LEND US A SHIP..." Luffy requests. "GOOD AFTERNOON," he adds. Kaya and Merry watch from afar. "SINCE WE CAN'T STOP HIM, WE'LL HAVE TO FOLLOW HIM," Merry says. Kaya sighs, "SIGH, WE CAN'T STOP HIM!" The kids ask, "THEN WHAT'S THE USE OF THAT GREETINGI LET'S JUST GO IN..." SFX: よじ... and ガチャン as Luffy climbs the gate. Inside the mansion, a butler with glasses reacts angrily, "WELL...... THEY JUST WENT OUT FOR LUNCH....!!" while another figure demands, "TRESPASSERSI WHERE ARE THE GUARDSI WHATI"

Usopp lounges against a tree, spinning a tall tale to his three young followers. "AND UP TO THIS DAY THEY STILL HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO FINISH EATING IT. THEN, BECAUSE OF MY GREAT POWERS, THEY ALL CALLED ME..." One boy cheers, "CAAAPTAIN!!" Another replies, "YES, CAPTAIN..." Usopp continues, "WELL THEN I SLICED IT UP INTO LITTLE PIECES, AND SENT THEM TO THE COUNTRY OF THE DWARVES..." He bursts into laughter, "HAHAHAHA... SO WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GOLDFISHI" Luffy suddenly pops up with a huge grin and straw hat, exclaiming, "OH! SO YOU'RE THE OJOUSAMAI" Usopp whirls around in shock. In the courtyard, Usopp's three followers stand with a group of villagers. Someone asks, "WE BROUGHT THIS GUY HERE... WHO'S THATI" "WHY ARE YOU ALL HEREI!" Usopp demands. A villager answers, "HUH!!" Usopp proudly declares, "THEY ARE THE NEW MEMBERS OF THE USOPP PIRATE GROUP!! THESE GUYS HEARD OF MY REPUTATION, AND TRAVELLED FAR TO SEE ME HERE" while Luffy looks surprised. "NO! THAT'S NOT...!!!" someone protests.

Luffy stands before an open window, gesturing excitedly at Kaya who leans on the sill with a gentle smile. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HEREI!" Luffy shouts. "WE NEED A BIG SHIP" "YEAH, OF MEI A REQUESTI" Kaya replies. Klahadore the butler storms onto the scene with fury, "CLAHADORE..." "URG! THE BUTLER" Usopp yelps. Klahadore roars, "YOU CAN'T JUST BARGE INTO THE MANSION LIKE THIS!!" Merry the other butler watches nearby. A boy asks, "WHO'S HEI" Klahadore glares and questions, "OR IS THERE SOMETHING YOU NEED TO SAYI" Kaya softly pleads from the window, "PLEASE GET OUT!" Klahadore continues firmly, "YOU DON'T HAVE TO EXPLAIN! I WILL ASK YOU ABOUT IT LATER" while turning to the group, "LISTEN CLAHADORE, THESE PEOPLE ARE..."

Klahadore fixes a cold stare on Usopp. "YOU'RE USOPP-KUN... YOU...." Usopp sweats, "NO WAY" Luffy smiles behind them, "I WANT A SHIP..." Klahadore adjusts his glasses with a sharp "ZU--N..." and states, "YOU MAY CALL ME CAPTAIN USOPP" Usopp laughs nervously, "OH... OH, THANK YOU" while adding, "EVERYBODY CALLS ME THAT..." Kaya watches with concern, sweat drop forming. Klahadore remarks, "I'VE HEARD SOME RUMORS ABOUT YOU... THE VILLAGERS TALK ABOUT YOU ALL THE TIME" Usopp points dramatically, "I HEARD THAT THERE'S A HUGE MOLE INSIDE THE MANSION!! SO I WANTED TO SEE IT FOR MYSELF" Klahadore blocks him with an outstretched hand, "WHAT DO YOU WANT HEREI YOU WERE LURKING OUTSIDE THE GATES THE GUARDS SAID..." while muttering, "ERRR... ERRR...."

Klahadore looms over Usopp with a menacing glare. "I'M NOT SURPRISED THAT YOU TURNED OUT THIS WAY BUT YOU HAD BETTER STAY AWAY FROM MY OJOUSAMA!" Usopp recoils. A background figure notes, "HAHAHA... I SEE THAT YOU CAN CERTAINLY LIE WELL!" Klahadore adds coldly, "I HAVE HEARD ABOUT YOUR FATHER TOO..." Usopp sweats heavily, "......... DID YOU SAY FILTHY PIRATE...I!" Luffy, Kaya, and Merry stand in stunned silence as someone whispers, "HIS DAD WAS A PIRATEI" Kaya's eyes widen in shock. Klahadore continues, "IS IT MONEY THAT YOU'RE LOOKING FORI NAME YOUR PRICE" while declaring to the group, "YOU AND THE OJOUSAMA BELONG TO TOTALLY DIFFERENT WORLDS"

Klahadore stands with Kaya as she screams at him. "THAT'S ENOUGH CLAHADOR!!!" Kaya shouts. "APOLOGIZE TO USOPP-SAN AT ONCE!!" Klahadore replies calmly, "THERE IS NO NEED FOR ME TO APOLOGIZE TO THIS UNCIVILIZED PERSON!" Usopp watches nearby. Kaya's face twists in fury as she yells "CLAHADOR!!!" Klahadore turns away, saying "I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU... YOU HATE YOUR FATHER, DON'T YOUI BECAUSE HE'S A 'DUMB TREASURE HUNTER' WHO DESERTED HIS FAMILY AND VILLAGE!" Usopp's eyes widen in rage. He grabs Klahadore by the collar and roars, "AND SAY THAT YOUR REAL FATHER IS A TRAVELLING MERCHANT... OR THAT YOU ARE NOT BLOOD-RELATED... YOU SHOULD HAVE JUST TOLD YOUR USUAL LIES... WHY ARE YOU SO ANGRYI YOU'RE NOT VERY SMART, ARE YOUI I WON'T LET YOU SAY ANOTHER BAD THING ABOUT MY FATHER!"

Usopp slams Klahadore to the ground with a powerful punch, debris flying. "SHUT UP!!!!" Usopp yells. Klahadore cowers on the floor, hands over his face, repeating "SHUT UP!!!!" Luffy watches with a serious expression. Kaya covers her mouth in shock. Usopp's friends, the Usopp Pirates, stare in stunned silence. Luffy mutters, "UH... GRH!! SEE... YOU'RE SO VIOLENT! LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON!!" A small panel shows Luffy and Nami looking on with concern.

Usopp's face fills the panel, tears streaming as he shouts with raw emotion, "I'M PROUD THAT HE WAS A BRAVE WARRIOR OF THE SEA! I'M PROUD THAT MY DAD WAS A PIRATE!!!" He continues, "I DON'T HAVE TO PRETEND THAT I'M NOT!!! BUT I'M PROUD OF HAVING A PIRATE'S BLOOD IN ME!!" Luffy grins widely and says, "YOU'RE RIGHT THAT I LIKE TO LIE." Usopp looks at Luffy in realization, "NOW I REMEMBER....!! OH YEAH!! THAT GUY...!!" Luffy smiles and declares, "I AM THE SON OF A PIRATE!!!"
