The same vibrant splash page appears in full color. Luffy beams from the upper right, clutching the ONE PIECE banner. Sanji looks ecstatic beneath him. Nami lounges happily on the lower-right rooftop. Zoro stands with a neutral expression near the center. Chopper, Brook, Usopp, Franky, and a crowd of fish-men, mermaids, and animals fill the plaza with balloons, music notes, and festive energy around the fountain and Café Pucci.

Luffy yells from the background, "CRYBABY!! WHY DID YOU GET OUT OF THE SHARKI!" Shirahoshi sobs in the distance, "I... I'M SO SORRY, LUFFY-SAMA! PLEASE DON'T GET ANGRY WITH ME... UWAAAHHH!" A large caption declares "SHIRAHOSHI IS BEING KIDNAPPED RIGHT NOW!!!" In the next panels Sanji snaps at someone, "THAT'S RIGHT! SHE'S RIGHT THERE! SO DON'T TURN AROUND, SANJI, NO MATTER WHAT!" while warning "YOU'D BETTER NOT BE SAYING THAT THE MERMAID PRINCESS IS STANDING RIGHT BEHIND ME!!!" Another voice cries "DON'T DO IT, SANJI!!!! DON'T YOU DARE TURN AROUND!!" A fish-man shouts "HE MADE THE PRINCESS CRY!!! THIS PIRATE IS PURE EVIL!!!" Sanji trembles as the mermaid princess stands directly behind him. Chopper yells "CHOPPER... I CHOOSE TO FULFIL MY DREAM, AND GO TO MY DEATH!!!!" while Sanji recalls "HOW COULD I BEAR TO LIVE KNOWING THAT I LET SUCH A CHANCE SLIP THROUGH MY FINGERS..." and a fish-man warns "IF YOU SEE THE MERMAID PRINCESS, YOU'LL BE DEAD FOR SURE!!!"

Sanji's face twists in ecstasy, hearts in his eyes, as he thinks "NO WORK OF ART COULD HOPE TO COMPARE... THIS IS... EVEN MY WILDEST IMAGININGS PALE IN COMPARISON... SHE IS... MAGNIFICENT...!" while muttering "AH..." and "DON'T DO IT, SANJI!!!!!!!" A massive impact erupts as the mermaid princess's beauty petrifies onlookers. A fish-man screams "HE TURNED TO STONE EEEEE!!!" while another yells "...TRUE BEAUTY...!!!!" Hearts and impact lines fill the panel. In the background Luffy, Chopper, and others react in shock. Chopper stammers "L... LUFFY-SAMA... WHAT SHOULD I...I UWAAH HHH!" while a fish-man notes "THIS IS A TOTALLY NEW SYMPTOM!! IS IT BECAUSE OF THE OKAMA BLOOD IN HIS SYSTEMI!" and another shouts "ANYWAY, HACHI!! WHO THE HECK DID THIS TO YOUI!! TELL ME!!!"

Shirahoshi towers over the scene with tears in her eyes, pointing accusingly as chaos erupts around her. A voice shouts, "STRAW HAT PIRATES!!! YOUR VILLAINY ENDS HERE!!!" Another yells, "DON'T TAKE THE PEOPLE OF FISHMAN ISLAND LIGHTLY!!!" Luffy, bound and seated on the ground, snaps back angrily, "HEY!! WHAT ARE YOU PLAYING ATI!" Below, Shirahoshi looks down with concern, saying, "LUFFY-SAMA WAS ONLY..." A fish-man minister adds, "IT'S ALL RIGHT NOW, PRINCESS! WE'LL SEE THAT THESE FIENDS ARE ALL EXECUTED..." while another fish-man recognizes Luffy and growls, "I REMEMBER YOU TOO, NOW!! YOU'RE ONE OF THOSE FIENDS FROM ARLONG'S LOT!!" The crowd reacts with shock as someone exclaims, "E-EXCUSE ME... IT ISN'T LIKE THAT..." and another shouts, "HUHI! TH- THERE REALLY IS SOMETHING FLYING THIS WAY!!" A fish-man captain yells, "WHATI! THERE'S NO POINT TRYING TO DISTRACT US WITH RIDICULOUS LIES!!" while another warns, "HEY, YOU GUYS!! SOMETHING'S FLYING RIGHT THIS WAY!!" Luffy stares in surprise, muttering, "HMI"

Vander Decken IX bursts dramatically from above in a flying leap, arms crossed and eyes wild, declaring, "I'VE FOUND YOU NOOOOW!!!! I KNOW IT!!!! BAHOHOHOH!!!" Shirahoshi stares up in shock, whispering, "VANDER DECKEN-SAMA...!!!!" Vander Decken then roars at the top of his lungs, "SHIRAHOSHIII IIIIIII!!!!" Below, a fish-man guard urges, "PRINCESS, YOU HAVE TO FLEE!!! WE'LL TAKE CARE OF HIM!!!" while another notes, "HE'S FINALLY SHOWN HIMSELF HERE ON FISHMAN ISLAND!!!" Vander Decken's face fills the panel with a menacing grin as he adds, "AFTER ALL THIS TIME IN HIDING..."

Vander Decken looms with arms spread wide, shouting, "MARRY MEEEE!!!" and laughing, "BAHOHOH!! MY DEAR SHIRAHOSHI...!!!!" He points threateningly and demands, "ANSWER ME THIS, SHIRAHOSHI!!!! SAY "YES", AND YOU WON'T HAVE TO DIE!!!" Shirahoshi, sweating and crying, replies firmly, "YOU'RE NOT MY TYPE....!!" The surrounding crowd erupts in shock, with one fish-man yelling, "IS THAT THE ISSUE HERE!!" while others react with wide eyes and open mouths. Narration notes, "THE MAN WHO'S TRIED TO TAKE THE PRINCESS' LIFE COUNTLESS TIMES BRAZENLY PROPOSING TO HERI!"

Vander Decken rages with bloodshot eyes and flying sweat, screaming, "PRINCESS SHIRAHOSHI!!! YOUR VERY EXISTENCE IS AN INSULT!!" and "IF YOU WILL NOT LOVE ME..." He continues, "HOW DARE YOU... TRAMPLE ALL OVER MY TEN YEARS OF LONGING...!!!!" and "DIE, SHIRAHOSHI!!!" while adding, "YOU WOULD CHOOSE ANOTHER... OVER MEI!!" Shirahoshi looks on with a calm, resolved expression. Luffy suddenly bursts forward with a massive close-up, eyes bulging and mouth wide, shouting, "I WON'T BE ABLE TO PROTECT YOU!!!" and "DON'T RUN AWAY, CRYBABY!!! STAY RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE!!!" A fish-man questions, "WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUTI!! ARE YOU ONE OF DECKEN'S CRONIESI! ARE YOU TELLING THE PRINCESS TO DIEI!!" while another voice warns, "IF YOU GO TOO FAR AWAY..."

Vander Decken lunges forward with a furious strike, shouting "HYAA AAHH HHH!!!" as his fist smashes through the air. Shirahoshi, wide-eyed and sweating, declares "ALL RIGHT!! I WON'T RUN!! A..." while someone off-panel cries "PRINCESS!!!!" Luffy, facing the attackers, says "SORRY, GUYS... I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING AGAINST YOU, BUT..." as a fish-man warrior roars "HOW DARE YOU THREATEN THE PRINCESSI!!" A massive impact erupts with "ドドン!!" and the warrior warns "YOU'RE IN THE WAY." Luffy reacts with "HUHI!" while Shirahoshi calls out "LUFFY!" amid the chaos of clashing weapons and flying debris.

A tremendous explosion rocks the scene as Vander Decken is blasted backward, screaming "GUAA ARGH HH!!!" with debris and smoke filling the air. Shirahoshi and a fish-man watch in shock while Vander Decken, bloodied and enraged, yells "WH... WHOA... WITHOUT EVEN BREAKING FREE OF HIS ROPES..." and "THIS IS BETWEEN ME AND MY BELOVED SHIRAHOSHI!!! WHY MUST YOU INTERFEREI!!!" Shirahoshi floats nearby with a worried expression as the battlefield is torn apart by the force of the blow.

Luffy glares furiously and shouts "THAT'S IT!!! I'M TAKING BOTH OF YOUR LIVES!!! I'LL STACK YOU UP NEATLY AND SLICE YOU INTO FOUR!!!" He demands "ARE YOU THE ONE WHO'S BEEN THROWING ALL THAT STUFF AT HERI!!" and "WAS IT YOU WHO ABDUCTED HER FROM THE PALACEI!!" Vander Decken growls "HMMI!" Luffy stretches his arm and declares "GOMU GOMU NO....!!" before slamming down with "JET HAMMER!!!" The devastating strike crushes Vander Decken, who howls "BLGU ERHHH HHH!!!" as rubble flies everywhere.

Onlookers react in shock: "HE JUST... TOOK OUT VANDER DECKEN....!!" and "...HE'S STILL MOVING BUT PLEASE, THIS IS OUR CHANCE TO CAPTURE HIM!!!" Shirahoshi pleads nervously "Y... YES, OF COURSE... B... BUT PLEASE, COULD YOU STOP SPEAKING SO LOUDLY...I IT MAKES ME NERVOUS..." while Sanji yells "HURRY UP, CRY-BABY!!!" and "HE TURNED INTO STONE FOR A BIT... AND NOW HE'S DROWNING IN HAPPINESS." Luffy asks "SANJI, WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUI!" as Sanji lies bound and dazed on the ground. Someone urges "C'MON, SHARK!! WAKE UP!!!" and notes "WE'D BETTER GET OUTTA HERE!! IT LOOKS LIKE WE'RE NOT VERY POPULAR ON THIS ISLAND!!"

Shirahoshi sits atop the massive shark Megalo, sweat flying as she shouts, "I WILL BE BACK IN TIME FOR DINNER!!" The shark strains against its ropes while panicked guards yell, "P...P... PRINCESS!! WHY ARE YOU UNTYING HIS ROPESI!!" and "I'M VERY SORRY, EVERYONE!!!" Shirahoshi cries "EHH!I" as Megalo roars "RRRR RLUOG HHH!!!" and she commands, "GET MOVING, SHARK!!!" The shark surges forward through the coral, sending guards tumbling. "AAAAHHHH!! PRINCESS SHIRAHOSHII!!" someone screams. Below, a panting Hody Jones snarls "*PANT*... *PANT*..." and orders, "DON'T LET 'EM GET AWAY..." as he charges, "AAAGH HHH!!!" and "OUTTA MY WAY, TRASH!!!"

Luffy stretches his arm and fires "JET PISTOL!!!" straight into Wadatsumi's gaping mouth, the impact exploding outward with "GOMU GOMU NO...!!!" and "RRAAAAA GHHHHH HHHH!!!" Wadatsumi reels back, eyes bulging. Shirahoshi cheers from Megalo's back, "RIGHT!! LET'S GO, CRYBABY!! TO THE OCEAN FOREST!!" Luffy lands and yells "THAT GOOD FOR NOTHING....!!" as Wadatsumi howls "AAAAA AUGH HHHH!!!" and "MY TOOF!!! HE BROKE MY TOOF!!" Hody's crew panics around the giant, one shouting "TAKE THOSE SUCKERS DOWN!!!" while another cries "I... IT'S OONYUU-DOU!!!" and "AWRIGHTY DEN!!! HAAA AHHHH!!!"

A guard reports, "TWO WOMEN, A PIRATE AND A MERMAID... HAVE ESCAPED FROM THE PALACE!!" while another mutters, "LET THEM RUN..." The scene shifts to Nami riding Camie through the water near the grand Ryuuguu Palace. Nami says, "WELL, YOU COULDN'T CARRY ALL OF US, COULD YOUI!" Camie replies, "...THAT'S TRUE, BUT..." Nami asks, "ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THIS, NAMI-CHINI! LEAVING THE OTHERS BEHIND..." Camie answers, "CAIMIE. COULD YOU TELL ME A LITTLE ABOUT THE FORMER SHICHIBUKAI JIMBEII!" and explains, "HUHI WELL, UM... BOSS JIMBEI IS... HE'S A PIRATE, BUT HE'S TRUSTED ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO VISIT THE PALACE FREELY..." Nami worries, "DON'T WORRY. THERE'S NEVER BEEN A SITUATION THOSE GUYS COULDN'T HANDLE. I KNOW THAT YOUR CREW ARE ALL STRONG, BUT STILL... HACCAN WARNED ME ABOUT HORDY. HE'S REALLY STRONG TOO, AND HIS MIND WORKS IN DANGEROUS WAYS..."

Nami continues, "I'M JUST THINKING ABOUT JIMBEI'S MESSAGE FOR LUFFY... 'DO NOT FIGHT WITH HORDY'..." Camie asks, "EHI IS IT NOT JUST BECAUSE HE'S DANGEROUSI" Nami replies, "AND THAT MAN, HORDY... HE THINKS OF HIMSELF AS ARLONG'S SUCCESSOR..." Camie notes, "I SEE... BUT HE WAS IN THE SAME CREW AS ARLONG ONCE, RIGHTI!" Nami recalls, "HE SAID HE WAS WAITING IN THE OCEAN FOREST, RIGHTI!" and adds, "THERE'S MORE TO THIS INCIDENT THAN MEETS THE EYE... AND I GET THE FEELING HE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT'S GOING ON...!!!" She finishes, "I JUST HOPE ZORO AND THE OTHERS DON'T END UP ANGERING HORDY TOO BADLY AS A RESULT OF THIS INCIDENT... AT ANY RATE... I HAVE TO MEET JIMBEI!" Nami then urges, "AND HURRY!!! CAIMIE... TAKE ME TO THE OCEAN FOREST!"

Inside the palace, a fierce struggle erupts as a massive fish-man warrior with wild hair clashes violently with a swordsman. The warrior swings a trident while the swordsman parries desperately amid flying debris and impact effects. A voice shouts, "OF COURSE, YOUR MAJESTY!!! WE WILL GO AFTER HODY AND HIS CREW AT -". Another commands, "LISTEN WELL, MEN!!!". A defiant reply rings out, "YOU SHALL NOT!!". In a smaller panel, a fish-man soldier declares, "WE WILL SURRENDER THE PALACE FOR NOW, REGROUP WITH THE PRINCES, AND AWAIT THE RIGHT OPPORTUNITY TO COUNTERATTACK!!". An outraged voice retorts, "SURRENDER THE PALACEI! YOUR MAJESTY, ARE YOU QUITE CERTAINI!!". Nearby, a character with an afro hairstyle yells, "BOSS!!! BOSS!!!". In the chaos, Usopp's voice questions, "WHAT DOES ZORO THINK HE'S DOINGI! FIGHTING A FISHMAN IN THE WATER FOR SUICIDE...!". The scene shows frantic movement, bubbles, and palace architecture in the background.
