Sailing into the Sky

A massive striped sea creature with huge jaws bursts from the water, roaring with open mouth full of sharp teeth. Large onomatopoeia reads ブゴゴゴゴゴ and GRAA AAA! Impact stars and motion lines show the beast thrashing violently. Below, the creature drags the Going Merry underwater amid bubbles labeled GLUB. On the deck, Luffy stands wide-eyed in the center while Usopp, Nami, and a bearded crewmate react in terror. Sound effects include RAAA WWW WRRR RRR!!! and RAAAW WWR...

The ship is pulled into a massive whirlpool, shown from above with swirling lines and SPLASH.... A small silhouette of the Going Merry spins in the current. On deck, a fish-man-like figure waves and shouts, “Okay! Thanks for getting us here!” while another voice yells “NOO, WAAIIT!” From the ship, someone calls “Alright, then! The rest is up to you!” The crew panics: “I NEVER HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT GOING IN A GIANT WHIRLPOOL! THEY DUPED US!” “GAAAHH HHHHH!” “YOU GOTTA BE KIDDIN’ ME! YOU BASICALLY DRAGGED US TO AN EXECUTION! GET US THE HELL OUTTA HERE, YOU LUNATICS!”

The whirlpool pulls the ship closer as dramatic sound effects ドドドドド fill the page. Crew members shout “THE WHIRLPOOL’S SUCKING US IN CLOSER AND CLOSER!” and “AGHHHH! NIGHT’S ALREADY FALLEN ON US!” On deck, Nami, Usopp, and others debate: “A fantasy among fantasies...I You’re right!” “Exactly, Luffy! I think it’s impossible too!” “SKY ISLAND’S JUST SOME FANTASY AMONG FANTASIES!” “YOU SAW WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT SEA KING! THAT WHIRLPOOL ALONE WILL KILL US, LET ALONE THE BLAST FROM THE KNOCK-UP STREAM!” “LUFFY, LET’S TURN BACK! WE MIGHT STILL MAKE IT IF WE TURN AROUND NOW!” Luffy’s face fills the panel with a huge grin, declaring “WE’D REGRET IT FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES IF WE GAVE THIS CHANCE UP!” and “AN ADVENTURE ON A FANTASY-ISLAND AMONG FANTASIES!I”

Nami clutches her face in shock while Luffy grins wildly with arms raised. "HE'S TOTALLY STOKED...!" "HE..." Sanji stands nearby holding a newspaper, addressing the crew: "Guys, while you were making a futile last-ditch attempt to dissuade our captain..." Usopp stares in alarm. The Going Merry is suddenly sucked into a massive whirlpool. The ship spins violently as crew members scream in terror. "AAAAA AAAAA AAGG GGHHH" "GAHHH!" "WE'RE FAAAAAAA AALLLIIINN NGGGG!" A massive impact SFX "ゴオオオ" shakes the panels. Nami is thrown as someone shouts, "The whirlpool swallowed us. Nami, leap into my arms!"

The massive whirlpool vanishes without trace. The Going Merry floats on calm open sea beneath cloudy skies. "SPLASH..." "HuhI" On deck the crew stares in confusion. "How could that gigantic whirlpool just suddenly vanish!I" "What happened!I" "Why'd it disappear!I" Underwater, a swirling vortex is shown being negated at the ocean floor. Nami's eyes widen in realization. "...HuhI" "It's starting...!" "Wait, what!I" "The whirlpool's already been negated at the ocean floor." "No..." Large vertical SFX "ゴゴゴゴ" rumble beside her.

Luffy looks surprised. "HmI" "Hey, Zoro." "Over there." Zoro and Usopp turn toward the horizon. "HmI" "Ah!" Usopp yells, "HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!" A massive figure bursts upward from the sea in a huge splash. Blackbeard laughs triumphantly atop his ship: "I CAUGHT UP TO YOU AT LAST, STRAW HAT LUFFY!" "ZEHAHAHA!" He points dramatically. In a close-up Blackbeard roars, "SAY YOUR PRAYERS!" "I'VE COME FOR THAT 100 MILLION BELI HEAD OF YOURS!" Nami and Sanji react with shock. "Who's theyI" "Ah... Those are the guys from Mocktown..."

Zoro peers through a spyglass from the ship. "Beats me..." "Who's they...I" "Their friendsI" Blackbeard holds up wanted posters and declares, "And as for your friend, 'Pirate Hunter Zoro,' there's a 60 million beli bounty! There's now a 100 million beli bounty for your head!" Luffy's poster is shown. "100 million beli headI What're you talking aboutI" "Ah, so you really didn't know, did you...!" "Hm!I Why're the skies so dark hereI" The crew reacts in shock. Nami exclaims, "...Ah! The Alabasta incident must have raised the bounties!" Usopp looks through binoculars while Luffy yells, "What!I Hey, what about me!I There's one for me too, right!I" Sanji reads the poster. "Zoro! There's a bounty on your head now!" "He's right! Those are the new wanted posters!" "STOP BEING SO DAMN HAPPY ABOUT IT!"

A massive wave surges forward as the crew spots the phenomenon. "THE KNOCK-UP STREAM...!" someone yells. "IT'S COMING..." cries a panicked crewmate. Voices shout from the deck, "Hey! Hey, guys!" and "Don't get distracted!" Below, a wide-eyed crew member asks, "HuhI What's going onI" Another mutters, "HuhI" A distant figure warns, "Prepare to die!" The sea erupts violently. "THE SEA'S GONNA BLAST INTO US SMITHER-EENS!" screams a frantic sailor as the ship rocks. "GYAAA!" yells another while the crew scrambles. "ALL CREW ON DECK! GRAB ONTO SOMETHING OR HEAD INSIDE!" commands a voice. At the bottom of the page, Luffy stares in shock, sweat flying, and gasps, "Wha...!I"

The Knock-Up Stream erupts with explosive force, sending the ship and its crew hurtling upward in a blinding column of water and debris. Bodies and wooden fragments tumble through the air amid massive impact lines and bubbles. Crew members scream in terror: "AAAAAGH HHHHHHHH!" and "AAAAAAGH GHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHH!" The violent upward blast engulfs everything as the vessel is launched skyward.

A stern warrior with a headband inhales deeply from a small pipe, eyes narrowed, as SFX read "ビリ ビリ...!!" and "INHALE..." Nearby, a barrel labeled with Japanese characters sits under more crackling sounds "ビリ ビリ..." and "ポト..." Below, a tall stone tower stands on a shoreline as a massive vertical column of water erupts from the sea in the distance. The final wide view shows the Knock-Up Stream blasting high into the cloudy sky above a forested island coast.

The Going Merry is tossed violently through raging waves and wind. "DON'T BE TOSSED OFF!" shouts a crewmate as the ship tilts dangerously. "HOLD STEADY!" another yells. "OH NO! OUR SHIP'S GONNA CAPSIZE" cries a panicked voice while screams of "AAAAAA AAAAGH HHHHH!" fill the air. Usopp and a goggled crewmate cling to the helm; Usopp shouts, "FLY UP TO SKY ISLAND!" Enormous SFX "ドゴォォォ" and "ビュオォォォ" emphasize the wild ascent as the vessel rockets upward through clouds toward a distant peak.

The Going Merry rockets upward along a massive pillar of water. Luffy stares in shock as the ship climbs, shouting, "W-WHAT'S GOING ON!I" Massive impact lettering and roaring wind fill the sky. Usopp cheers wildly, "WOOHOO! THIS IS AWESOME!" while someone else cries, "How's this even possible!I" A narration box states, "THE SHIP'S RIDING ALONG THE PILLAR OF WATER!" Below deck, Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper urge the ship onward with Luffy yelling, "GO, MERRY, GO!" and Usopp adding, "YAHOO! LET'S GO STRAIGHT UP TO THE SKY!" Nami, hair whipping in the wind, murmurs in surprise, "Wind...!I"

The crew reacts in alarm as the ship begins to drift away from the water stream. Usopp asks, "What's wrongI Did you leave something behindI" while Nami questions, "Why, what is itI" Sanji realizes, "I don't think this is as good as it seems...!" and warns, "Wait a second...!" Chopper screams in terror, "AAAHH! WHAT'S THAT!I" as a gigantic Sea King bursts from the stream with jaws wide open. A voice identifies it: "A SEA KING!" Another notes, "It must be the one that got sucked in earlier!" The monster lunges toward the Merry.

The Sea King snaps at the ship while the crew scrambles. Nami sweats in panic. A crew member shouts, "It's only a matter of time until that happens to us too!" Sanji yells, "AOHHHH! All the things that were sucked in by the knock-up stream are starting to fall down!" Usopp adds, "So this was just a natural calamity after all!I" and warns they are flying right toward the blast impact. Below, the crew debates the rising current. Someone cries, "WE'RE GONNA CRASH DOWN INTO THE SEA AND DIE INSTANTLY!" Nami orders, "RAISE THE SAILS! QUICKLY!" as the ship tilts wildly.

Nami takes command, declaring with fierce determination, "DID YOU ALL FORGET WHO'S THE NAVIGATOR OF THIS SHIP!I AS LONG AS WE'RE DEALING WITH THE SEAS AND WINDS, I CAN NAVIGATE THROUGH THEM!" The crew responds, "Alright, guys! Let's do as Nami says!" and "AYE-AYE!" The ship tilts sharply as Nami steers. Crew members shout, "WE'RE GONNA FALL, WE'RE GONNA FALL! DO SOMETHING, NAMI!" and "AHhh! THE SHIP'S FLOATING OFF MORE AND MORE!" Nami replies, "Don't worry, we can make it!" while ordering, "YES, SIR! We've gotta match the ship with the ocean current! Turn the rudder port-side so we can catch the wind from starboard! QUICKLY!"

The massive ship bursts upward through the clouds in a dramatic launch. A huge impact SFX erupts as the vessel soars. "WHA!I" someone shouts in shock. "WE'RE FLYING!I" cries another. Below, the crew reacts in a rapid panel sequence: Usopp stares with bulging eyes and an open mouth, Nami looks back with a confident smile, Chopper's face twists in wild excitement with "HELL YEAH! WE'RE FLYING INTO THE SKY NOW!", Sanji swoons with hearts while declaring "Nami, you're amazing! ♥", Zoro grins "Wow...", and Luffy beams "We did it!" as the ship climbs higher into the open sky.

The ship sails freely through the sky above the clouds. "WE CAN SAIL ANYWHERE!" Luffy exclaims with pure joy. A small heart bubble reads "I love you!". Luffy wonders aloud, "I wonder what's lying for us up there...!I" while Usopp asks, "Hey Nami!! Are we gonna arrive at Sky Island soon!I" and notes "If it exists, it should be just beyond that cloud! Above the cloud, eh!I" The vessel then dives toward a massive cloud formation labeled the Emperor Nimbus. "WHOAA AAAA!" the crew screams as the ship plunges forward. "LET'S BREAK THROUGH THE EMPEROR NIMBUS!" Luffy shouts. The page ends with the volume note: Vol. 25 "The 100 Million Man" (End).
