The Sea Floor Prison Impel Down

In a dim prison cell, a young Ace sits chained while talking with someone off-panel. A voice says, "SPEAKING OF WHICH... I TOLD LUFFY ABOUT HIS FATHER..." Ace replies, "YEAH....!!!" The voice continues, "HE WAS SURPRISED THAT HIS FATHER WAS EVEN AROUND." In a brighter cell, a kneeling figure with a tattooed back speaks: "I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED FOR YOU AND LUFFY TO HAVE BECOME GREAT MARINES. BUT YOU DID THE OPPOSITE AND TURNED INTO ROGUES...!!!" A close-up of Ace shows him sweating and gritting his teeth as he says, "THAT STUFF... DOESN'T MATTER. ONE WAY OR ANOTHER, LUFFY AND I... WE BOTH HAVE THE BLOOD OF AN INFAMOUS CRIMINAL RUNNING THROUGH OUR VEINS... THERE'S NO WAY WE WOULD'VE BECOME MARINES... BUT...!!!" The scene shifts to Whitebeard in the present, listening as Ace reflects: "WELL, BE THAT AS IT MAY... HE IS WHO HE IS. I DON'T HAVE ANY MEMORIES OF HIM... AND I DON'T OWE HIM A THING... MY GOOD-FOR-NOTHING FATHER NEVER GAVE ME ANYTHING ASIDE FROM HALF MY BLOOD... I TOOK THE NAME PORTGAS... TO SHOW MY GRATITUDE TO MY MOTHER..." Whitebeard replies, "SO... OLD MAN......"

Ace stares in shock with a sweat drop, exclaiming "...!!I" Whitebeard stands over him, saying, "YOU LOOK LIKE YOU'RE ABOUT TO DIE, KID..." In a dramatic close-up, Whitebeard's massive hand is extended as he declares, "BECOME MY SON!!! WHY DON'T YOU TAKE ON MY NAME AND RUN WILD...!!I" Ace, bloodied and emotional, looks up with tears and a fierce grin, replying, "IS WHITEBEARD...!!! THE ONLY FATHER I HAVE..." Whitebeard watches silently with a serious expression.

On the deck of a Marine ship, sailors react to a distant vessel flying a skull-and-crossbones flag. One shouts, "WHOSE SHIP IS IT...I" Another says, "I'LL LOOK IT UP RIGHT AWAY!" A third notes, "I FEEL LIKE I'VE SEEN THAT FLAG BEFORE..." The scene widens to show the open sea with the pirate ship approaching. Alarms ring out: "VICE ADMIRAL MOMONGA!! WE'VE SPOTTED A PIRATE SHIP AT TEN O'CLOCK!!" Momonga, standing with arms crossed, responds calmly, "IF YOU DON'T KNOW, THEN IT CAN'T BE IMPORTANT... LEAVE THEM. WE'RE ON A TIGHT SCHEDULE." A diagram labels the ship as "MARINE SHIP 6100660" with the note "The marine ship that Luffy and Hancock are on." A map shows the vessel approaching the "Tri-Current" near Impel Down and Marineford, with the caption: "is approaching the 'Tri-Current,' reserved for marine use, that ties together the government's three central points."

WE'VE MADE IT THIS FAR..." Someone shouts in panic, "DON'T LOOK AT ME!" and "D... DON'T LOOK THIS WAY..." as the giant Sea King surfaces with a roar. "UWAAAH!! LOOK AT THAT!! A GIANT SEA KING!!" Below deck on the ship, Buggy's crew argues desperately. A man with a lion-like mane growls, "B... BUT WE HAVE TO SAVE CAPTAIN BUGGY, WHO GOT IMPRISONED IN IMPEL DOWN!!!" Alvida stands calmly with her iron mace, replying, "Weren't you the ones who wanted to come hereI YOU EVEN PAID ALL THAT MONEY FOR AN ETERNAL POSE..." She gestures toward the horizon and states, "EITHER WAY, THE OTHER PATH IS RESERVED FOR MARINE USE. THEY'D NEVER OPEN THE GATES OF JUSTICE FOR A PIRATE SHIP... LOOK AT THE SEA! AHEAD OF US IS THE CALM BELT, WHERE THOSE MONSTERS MAKE THEIR NESTS. DO YOU THINK WE CAN DO ANYTHING IN THIS LITTLE SHIPI"

Buggy's crew erupts in panic aboard the ship. A crewman yells, "IF WE DON'T DO ANYTHING... CAPTAIN BUGGY WILL BE EXECUTED!!!" The lion-mane man roars "GARU!! GARURU RURU!!" while another shouts, "THAT CAN'T BE! WE CAN'T EVEN GET THERE!!I" Someone adds, "JUST LIKE OUR FRIEND, ACE!!" Alvida remains composed and says, "JUST GIVE IT UP ALREADY... AS A PIRATE, BUGGY THE CLOWN'S LUCK HAS RUN OUT... IMPEL DOWN IS THE WORLD'S GREATEST PRISON! IT'S IMPENETRABLE AND INESCAPABLE!" The crew collapses in despair, with the lion-mane man pounding the deck and crying, "WE'LL FOLLOW CAPTAIN BUGGY!!! THAT'S RIGHT! UNTIL THE DAY WE FIND CAPTAIN JOHN'S TREASURE ISLAND. ISN'T THE KIND OF MAN WHO WOULD DIE HERE!!! THERE'S NO WAY!!! CAPTAIN BUGGY..." while growling "GARURURU!!!"

On the deck of Buggy's ship, the Big Top, the crew prepares to abandon ship. A crewman exclaims, "EHHH!I BUT IF THIS IS CAPTAIN BUGGY'S SHIP!!" Alvida points and says, "YOU CAN TAKE THE BOAT.... DO AS YOU PLEASE... BUT I'LL BE KEEPING THE BIG TOP*." She continues, "YOU CAN TAKE A BOAT AND DO WHATEVER YOU WANT UNTIL YOU'RE SATISFIED... I'M NOT SAILING TO CERTAIN DEATH, AND I'M NOT LETTING YOU WASTE THIS SHIP." The crew hesitates, with one noting, "UH... WELL, THAT'S TRUE... I DON'T SEE HIM HERE, DO YOUI" Another warns, "THOUGH YOU'LL PROBABLY DIE BEFORE YOU EVEN GET A GLIMPSE OF IMPEL DOWN." The crew rows away in a small boat, shouting, "WE HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD DEATH!! FAREWELL!! WE'LL NEVER FORGET THE DEBT WE OWE YOU!! CAPTAIN BUGGY!!! THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU'VE DONE UNTIL NOW!!!" while the lion-mane man growls "GARURU RURU!!!" and the ship sails off into the distance.

A massive Sea King lunges at the fleeing boat with jaws wide open. Crew members scream in terror: "WA... HAA... HAA...!!! COUGH...", "BUHAAH...!!! OWEH...!!! AH...!!! HAA...", "AAAAH-HH...!!!", "GUEA-AHHH!!!", and "PLEASE...!!! JUST KILL ME!!!" as the beast devours them amid blood and debris. The colossal structure of Impel Down rises from the sea floor, surrounded by circling Sea Kings and underwater currents. A narration box reads, "The world's greatest prison: the sea floor prison, Impel Down." Bubbles rise as the prison's massive form looms, with Sea Kings circling its base.

In the dim stone corridors of the prison, a massive Minotaurus jailer swings its spiked club down with crushing force. "POTA POTA..." drips the blood as the weapon strikes. Prisoners scream in terror: "UWAAA-AAHHH!!!" "IT'S NOT LIKE WE'RE ON DEATH ROW HERE!!! LET US OUT!!!" A chained gate labeled L-5 2660 bursts open under the assault. "GACHIN!!!" "UWAAA AAHHH!!!" The bull-headed beast charges up the stairs, "KATSUN... KATSUN..." Elsewhere, striped-uniform inmates surround a new arrival. "HEY, NEW FISH..." "WITHOUT A WORD TO THE BOSS HERE...!I" "WHAT'RE YOU DOIN'... CHEWIN' ON YER BREAD...I" The rule is shouted: "THE RULE IS THAT ALL NEW FISH GIVE THEIR BREAD TO THE BOSS!!!" A violent scramble erupts with clubs and fists flying. "GIII..." One prisoner is beaten down as the others roar.

Massive sea creatures thrash violently in the churning waters around the descending ship. Bubbles rise as a huge denizen with glowing eyes lunges forward. "DABO..." A spiked sea king-like beast crashes against the hull. "GACHAGACHA GACHA!!!" The vessel plunges deeper through swirling currents and debris. A large signboard appears on the right: "It has been four and a half days since the ship departed from Amazon Lily." From the deck a voice cries out, "WE'VE ARRIVED AT IMPEL DOWN!!!" Another announces, "VICE ADMIRAL MOMONGA!!" The ship surfaces in the fog-shrouded waters directly before the towering gates of the underwater prison.

On the deck of the Marine vessel, Vice Admiral Momonga stands with arms crossed. "NO MATTER... LET'S HURRY." "WE WERE SLOWED A BIT BY HEAD WINDS, BUT..." A Marine salutes, "LADY HANCOCK!! WE'VE ARRIVED..." "SIR!!" "GET HANCOCK OUT HERE!!" Boa Hancock, cloaked in a spotted fur-trimmed coat, turns away. "THIS IS THE MOST DANGEROUS PLACE IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW. OF COURSE THEY'D COME OUT IN BATTLE FORMATION..." Luffy stands nearby, wide-eyed. "I'LL BE RIGHT THERE!!" "WHAT THE HECK IS THIS...I" Inside, Hancock adjusts her cloak. "HE'S PROBABLY FAR BENEATH THE SURFACE." Luffy sweats heavily, realizing, "SO THIS IS WHERE ACE IS...I" "THERE'RE EVEN MORE BATTLESHIPS... THAN THE BUSTER CALL HAD...!!!" Hancock says quietly, "...NOW QUICKLY, INTO MY CLOTHES..."

The massive gates of Impel Down loom ahead, flanked by enormous Marine warships. A black flag bearing a crowned jolly roger with the kanji "十" flutters. "オオオオ..." A close-up shows Momonga's stern face. "カッ" Crew members gawk in awe. "...THAT'S THE PIRATE EMPRESS...!!! SHE'S TRULY THE GREATEST BEAUTY IN THE WORLD!" "U... UWOOOOHH!! I... I CAN'T BELIEVE IT... LOOK AT THAT..." "WELL DONE, VICE ADMIRAL MOMONGA!!!" "HOW MANY THOUSANDS OF VOLTS IS THAT BEAUTY POWER!!I HOW MANY MILLIONS!I" "THERE'S NOTHING ABOUT HER THAT ISN'T BEAUTIFUL!!!" The enormous entrance sign reads: "The Calm Belt, the great prison Impel Down's front entrance." The ship glides forward amid the roaring waves and massive stone fortress.

Inside Impel Down, Boa Hancock stands with her back to the guards as they discuss her condition and the central figure of the incident, Portgas D. Ace. One guard pleads, "REGARDING YOUR CONDITION... YOU WANTED TO SEE THE CENTRAL FIGURE IN THIS INCIDENT, PORTGAS D. ACE, RIGHTI" Another adds nervously, "PLEASE DON'T..." while a third worries, "WOULD YOU CARE IF THEY TURNED TO STONE...I" Hancock, visibly irritated, thinks, "WHAT'S WITH ALL THIS CHATTERING...I IT'S SO IRRITATING..." The guards continue, "WE CAN'T HAVE YOU PULLING OFF ANY PLANS TO FREE ANY PRISONERS," and warn that she will receive a thorough body search and must wear Kairoseki handcuffs because pirates are normally forbidden. Hancock turns and replies firmly, "VERY WELL...!!!" Luffy, hidden nearby, shouts excitedly, "GO ON AHEAD!! I'LL TAKE CARE OF IT!!" Hancock glances back with concern, thinking, "...LUFFY, THEY'LL BE SEARCHING ME SOON..."

The guards react wildly to Boa Hancock's arrival, shouting with hearts, "WAAH...♡ SHE'S SO PRETTY... COME ON, OPEN THE GATE!!!♡" and "OPEN IT UP!♡ OPEN IT UP!♡" An announcement declares, "VICE CHIEF!! VICE ADMIRAL MOMONGA AND THE SHICHIBUKAI, LADY HANCOCK, HAVE ARRIVED!!" Someone notes Buggy the Clown has disappeared from his cell and questions if he has a Devil Fruit power. Hancock proceeds forward with her snake Salome as a large sign reads "until Ace's public execution" and another states "Thirty-three hours remain." Riding on Salome's back with Luffy concealed beneath her cloak, Hancock declares, "HERE WE GO...!!!! LUFFY!!"
