Labophase Death Game

Inside the Egghead Labophase, Shaka and the control room react to the sudden blast that hit Pythagoras. Voices shout, "Pythagoras!! Respond!!" and ask, "What was that explosion?!" A report comes in about "the damage from the explosion!!" while Shaka keeps calling, "Pythagoras!! Give me a response!" He wonders whether it was an accident and says he hopes Pythagoras did not get caught in it. Shaka orders a Den Den Mushi to search Tower C, but on the monitor he notices something strange and mutters, "Hm?" as a shadow approaches the camera feed.

The control room sees what looks like "someone's shadow??!!" on the monitor just before a Baby Monitor Snail is destroyed and the feed cuts out. Someone reports, "The Den Den Mushi got damaged!!" In the command room, Luffy suddenly loses the voices in his headset and worries that something happened to the helmet, insisting, "I don't think I broke the headset!! I didn't even bump into anything!!" Shaka watches the camera screens go dark one after another with repeated "Kachak" sounds and realizes they are closing "one by one." He concludes, "There is someone else, inside the laboratory!!" while the broken equipment and collapsing surveillance make the Labophase feel sealed off and hunted from within.

On Tower A, Floor 3, Nami, Brook, and a Vegapunk satellite search for Stella while Nami calls, "Hey Vegapunk! Where are youuu?!" Nami spots glittering jewels and gasps, "Wooooow!! Look at these jewels!! Lemme have 'em!!" The satellite protests that those jewels are expensive and cannot simply be given away, but Nami argues that everyone is leaving the island anyway and asks whether their brains are malfunctioning. Brook says, "Noo, I only listen to Stella!!" Nami asks for help carrying the treasure back, then learns the jewels are man-made diamonds and marvels, "You can make diamonds?!" Her eyes change at the thought of future wealth, and she happily says the future is nothing but a dream while still calling for Stella.

On Tower A, Floor 2, Robin, Chopper, and Atlas continue searching. Atlas explains, "I can change my face anyway I want to!" and Robin asks whether her face is a mask. Chopper realizes the altered face belongs to Vegapunk, while Atlas cheerfully says, "That's how it works here in the future!" Robin notices another strange object and asks, "Wait a sec... Is that Vegapunk?" Chopper is horrified, thinking Vegapunk has been chopped into pieces, but Robin calmly explains, "No, that is an organoid!!" and a note identifies it as an artificial human organ. Chopper is amazed that they can create organs and calls it scary, while Robin says it is essential technology for the future. The page then returns to Shaka in Tower A, Floor 2, calling, "Edison?? This is Shaka!! Give me a response!!" as he tries to contact the search teams.

Back in the command room, Luffy insists he could hear voices in the headset just a second ago and says, "I don't think I broke the headset!! I didn't even bump into anything!!" The camera screens keep shutting down, each one marked by another "Kachak," while Shaka studies the displays with growing alarm. He sees that the surveillance feeds are closing "one by one," and Luffy notices the same thing. With the screens blacking out across the lab and one wall already smashed open, Shaka says, "There is someone else, inside the laboratory!!" Luffy reacts, "Whaaa?!" as the situation changes from a missing-person search into a locked-down sabotage incident.

On B Tower, Floor 2, Sanji, Stussy, and Jinbe search together. Sanji gushes, "To think the day would come that I'd be able to sail with Stussy-sama! Weren't you at Big Mom's party?!" Stussy asks, "Can you call me your dog?!" and Sanji eagerly answers, "As long as I can find Stella for me, silly," mixing the mission with his infatuation. Jinbe observes that the laboratory is massive and explains that this area is the weapons manufacturing floor, so they can break things without much concern. The scene shifts to Tower C, left, Floor 3, where Franky, Usopp, Lilith, and York continue searching. Usopp shouts, "A bubble gun?!" while Lilith explains, "That's right, these strong bubbles can reflect anything!" Franky says it is an attack that bounces things back, York yawns that she is sleepy, and the group keeps calling, "Vegapunk! Where are youuuu!!"

The Tower C search party reaches the site of the earlier blast. Lilith says, "That looks bad!" and Usopp cries that "a giant explosion just happened!!" before spotting someone on the ground. Franky and the others find Pythagoras's body, and someone yells, "Pythagoras!!" but the body is headless. Usopp panics, "His head blew off!!" and Franky urges the body to get up, only to shout, "Aahh it doesn't have a head!!" Pythagoras's small head is still alive nearby and says, "This is bad!" then begins with "TMP" and asks whether that was the explosion noise. The group is horrified by the apparent attack and by the realization that a Vegapunk satellite can be separated from its body.

Pythagoras's detached head rolls out and identifies itself: "It's me! Pythagoras' head!" Luffy's distant group, or the search party, reacts with "Whaaaa?! Who is that?!" The others ask what happened and whether it was an accident, but Pythagoras says there is "just no way" and calls that idea incomprehensible. He says he does not think he has seen one before, but before he can explain, he tells everyone to hurry up and say it. York wanders toward a small figure despite warnings, and Pythagoras asks, "Huh, where is York?" York ignores the danger, cooing, "You're so cute!" and telling the little figure, "You should just wait outside, okay?" as she approaches what turns out not to be harmless at all.

The tiny Boa Hancock Seraphim attacks York. The others yell, "Stop York! Don't get any closer!!" but S-Snake uses "Mero Mero Mero," and York says only "Huh?" before being turned completely to stone. Lilith and the others scream, "York!!" as York's petrified body topples with a heavy crash. The group recognizes the attacker and shouts, "It's a Seraphim!" while Lilith demands, "Why are you moving on your own?! Stop Seraphim!" The command fails. Usopp yells, "Ehhh?!" and asks why the Seraphim is moving by itself, making it clear that the Vegapunks' command hierarchy has been compromised.

S-Snake follows up by blasting the search party with a massive attack, sending everyone flying while the page erupts in impact SFX and a shout of "Waaaah!!!" Lilith realizes something is wrong and protests, "I'm a Vegapunk you know!! Right? She won't listen to orders!!" Pythagoras's head tumbles with the others as the floor and walls break apart around them. The group cannot understand why a Seraphim is attacking them despite Vegapunk authority, and the failed order confirms that the enemy's sabotage extends beyond the cameras and communications into the Seraphim command system itself.

The fight against S-Snake continues in the wreckage. Usopp or Franky shouts, "Why is it attacking us! Can we fight back?!" while someone curses, "That bastard!" and another cries, "Ow!!" The team tries to contact Shaka, yelling, "Respond! Shaka!!" but a reply says, "Dammit, it won't work! We can't get a signal." Lilith stares grimly at the little Seraphim and calls her "that little girl," while S-Snake smiles back. Lilith declares, "Enough with the jokes. There is no way we can win... I created them to be the strongest humans." Her own admission underlines the danger: the Vegapunks built the Seraphim as overwhelming weapons, and now one of those weapons is treating its creators as targets.

In Tower A's command room, Zoro calls for help: "Lend me a hand Luffy!" Luffy rushes in and asks, "What's going on Zoro?!" after seeing Zoro clash with S-Hawk and S-Bear. The awakened Lucci and Kaku recognize the situation and ask, "You guys?!" Shaka orders, "S Hawk and S Bear, stop!! Whose orders are you following?" but the Seraphim ignore him. Shaka realizes they "started attacking the CP0 agents" and asks whether they are going to stop now, while Zoro grimaces that freeing Lucci and Kaku while handcuffed would leave a bad taste in his mouth. S-Hawk and S-Bear stand over the unconscious agents, and the command room becomes another battlefield.

S-Hawk and S-Bear launch another coordinated attack, and Luffy shouts, "Woahh!! They're listening to orders!" Shaka reasons that if his orders are not being obeyed, "that means... the one who gave this command was Vegapunk!" Since all communication is being cut off and they are trapped in the barrier, he concludes, "Then someone is out to kill us all...!!" Lucci says the Seraphim are clearly not messing around and asks, "Out to kill us all?!" Lucci and Kaku then propose an alliance: "Hey, Straw Hat! Roronoa! Let's put our past grudges aside for now," and, "Shall we join forces? If you take off these handcuffs, I'm sure we'll be useful!" Luffy and Zoro stare at them in disgust and shout, "They're disgusting!!!" as the chapter ends with the question of whether enemies can really partner up.
