Adventure in the Country on the Back of an Elephant

A voice cries, 'WHAT FALLS TOWARDS OUR FRIENDS CLIMBING THE ELEPHANT!I' Another shouts, 'SOMETHING'S HEADED RIGHT THIS WAY!'. The object crashes into the climbers with a massive 'ばんくぅ!!!' impact and 'ETETETE TETE!' sound. In the lower panels, a white-haired mink-like figure sweats and explains, 'INDEED; RAIZOU THE NINJA GOES "TETETETE" WHEN HE RUNS AROUND.' Luffy stares upward in shock, eyes bulging, yelling 'ETEI TETE TEEEE EEE!' as the falling figure tumbles closer.

Chaos erupts as the spinning black object hurtles toward the group. Luffy yells, 'CRAP, THAT THING'S GONNA HIT US! DODGE IT!' while flailing with 'FWAP FWAP' sounds. Kanjuro shouts, 'GET OUT OF THE WAY, YOU TWO!' A voice replies, 'HMI' The white-haired mink snaps, 'SERIOUSLY...' and 'YOU'RE THE ONLY PERSON BEHIND ME!' Kanjuro reacts with 'WHOA! UM! ERR! I DO BELIEVE IT IS YOU, KANJURO!' and 'NINJA ART: BLINDFOLD NO JUTSU! GUESS-WHOOO-!I' as the object strikes with 'TILT' and a massive 'ざゅっん!!' impact, sending everyone reeling. Luffy screams '!!!I' amid the 'DE!' effect.

Luffy and the group cling desperately as a massive black object hurtles toward them. "CRAP, THAT THING'S GONNA HIT US! DODGE IT!" someone yells amid frantic flapping sounds. The impact sends everyone reeling. A blindfolded figure suddenly appears behind them, shouting "NINJA ART: BLINDFOLD NO JUTSU! GUESS-WHOOO-!I" Kin'emon reacts in shock, "WHOA! UM! ERR! I DO BELIEVE IT IS YOU, KANJURO!" while Luffy snaps, "GET OUT OF THE WAY, YOU TWO!" Kanjuro retorts, "YOU'RE THE ONLY PERSON BEHIND ME!" The massive spiked object slams down with a thunderous "DE!" as the group tumbles.

Kin'emon and Kanjuro plummet off the edge, their screams echoing. "KINEMON! KANJURO!" voices cry out. "OH CRAP! THEY FELL OFF!" Luffy shouts in panic as the pair vanish into the clouds below, accompanied by frantic "WAAAAA AGH!" and "AAA AGH!" sounds. A female mink with dark hair and goggles assesses the situation, stating, "I CANNOT SAY FOR CERTAIN! AT FIRST GLANCE IT APPEARED TO BE A MAN COVERED IN BLOOD, WITH COUNTLESS KNIVES WEDGED INTO HIM, BUT... AS IT TURNED OUT, IT JUST HAPPENED TO BE A SMALL MONKEY. WHY ARE YOUR FIRST IMPRESSIONS ALWAYS SO MORBIDI" Another voice adds, "DAMN IT! DID ANYONE GET A GOOD LOOK AT THE THING THAT SLAMMED INTO THEM!I"

From the cliff, voices call desperately, "KANJUROOO~! KINEMOOO~N!" A fish-like creature peers over the edge, wondering if they fell into the sea. Luffy spots the group below and yells, "THAT'S KINEMON! I'M GLAD YOU'RE OKAY!" Kin'emon replies, "WE ARE UNHARMED, MORE OR LESS." The small dragon Ryunosuke is ordered, "OI, DRAGON! TIME TO TURN AROUND..." but responds, "WHADDYA MEAN! YOU'RE ONE OF US NOW! WE'RE COMING DOWN TO GET YOU!" A voice from above urges, "PLEASE GO ON AHEAD. WE SHALL CATCH UP WITH YOU BEFORE YOU KNOW IT."

Ryunosuke strains with heavy breaths, "UGHH... HAAHH HAAH... HUFF HUFF... RYUU! TURN AROUND..." The group clings to the exhausted dragon as it sweats and trembles. A female mink says, "IT'S GONNA BE ROUGH SLEDDING BUT I GUESS WE GOTTA PRESS ON... TRUE, AND WE NEED TO GET THIS MISSION OVER WITH AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!" Another adds, "POOR RYUU, WE CAN'T JUST ASK HIM TO TURN AROUND NOW!!!" Ryunosuke apologizes, "SORRY BUT IT LOOKS LIKE WE'LL BE GOING AHEAD AFTERALL!! WE'LL MEET YOU GUYS THERE!" The mink encourages, "DO YOUR BEST..." Suddenly an unfamiliar voice shouts, "YOU SCUM! UNAUTHORIZED ENTRY INTO THIS COUNTRY WILL NOT BE PERMITTED! HURRY AND GO!!" Luffy reacts with surprise, "ROGER!"

Ryunosuke strains upward along the massive leg of Zunesha, its ink body dripping and trembling. A voice cries out, "I SEE THE SUMMIT!!!!" The creature pants heavily with repeated "HUFF... PUFF..." and "HAAAH..." sounds. Luffy leans forward with wild eyes, shouting encouragement. Others join in: "YOU CAN DO IT!" "RYUUNOSUKE!!!" "YOU GOT THIS!" "DO YOUR BEST!" "YOU GOT THIS!" "JUST A BIT TO GO!!" Ryunosuke wheezes "RYUU..." while sweat flies. In the final panel Luffy throws both arms high and roars with joy as the summit comes into view, yelling "HANG IN THERE!!!"

The group bursts onto the summit in triumph. Luffy leaps with both fists raised, shouting "WE MADE IT!!!" while others cheer. Ryunosuke gasps "RYUU..." and begins to fade. A mink woman asks gently, "YOU'LL BE REVERTING BACK TO A PAINTING, RIGHTI" The creature answers weakly "RYUU..." as more voices call "RYUUNOSUKE..." and "RYUUNOSUKE...!!!!" With a final "SSSSST..." sound, Ryunosuke collapses into a flat drawing on the ground. Luffy stares in shock while the others react with surprise at the sudden disappearance.

Luffy and the others stare at the massive stone gate ahead. Someone yells "RYUUNOSUKE!!!" as the last traces of the drawing vanish with a long "SSSSSSSSU" sound. Franky snaps, "HOLD UP, I HEARD THAT!!! TAKE THAT BACK, YOU JERKS!!" while Law and another crewmate discuss the civilization. They note the lack of guards and the enormous arched gateway marked with "MOKOMO DUKEDOM." A mink woman remarks, "WHAT A CAREFREE LOT..." as the group steps through the entrance into the country built on the elephant's back.

Luffy stands at the edge of a high stone platform, arms flung wide in amazement. A huge "DON" sound effect crashes across the page. He shouts, "SO AWESOME!!!" and "THERE'S AN ENTIRE COUNTRY HERE!!" while a mink woman beside him exclaims, "OOOOOI USOPP! COME LOOK AT THIS, IT'S AMAZING!!" Luffy continues, "TO THINK THAT ALL THIS IS RESTING ON THE BACK OF A GIGANTIC THOUSAND-YEAR ELEPHANT... THIS IS SO AWESOME!!" Below them stretches a vast forested land filled with towns, rivers, and a giant tree, all resting on Zunesha's back. Luffy yells, "IS THIS TRULY ALL ON THE BACK OF AN ELEPHANT!I"

High above the ruined landscape, a voice cries out "AH!!" as another yells "WAHOOOOOO!!" A goggled figure shields his eyes and exclaims, "It's kinda...!! But that town...!!!" Below, the group surveys the massive stone walls and shattered gates. "This place may be huge but it's not like it's an entire continent or anything," one says. "Let's keep moving." Zoro turns and asks, "Zoro... are you certain we should go on ahead without waiting for KinemonI" A reply comes: "'Course he did... d'you see the human eyebrowI" "Nope, I'm too far away to get a clear look...!" Suddenly someone shouts, "LUFFY JUMPED OFF!!" At the broken entrance a swordsman remarks, "I wouldn't exactly call this 'wide open'..." Another voice calls, "Wait! I'm headed towards you guys now!!" A third adds, "He didn't need to jump over the walls... The gates are wide open for crying out loud." A mink in a fur hat concludes, "It seems someone busted them open..."

The party presses forward through devastated forest. "These tracks are still fresh, too!! Is it safe!I Do you think they're okayI" one asks. "This is clearly the remnants of some kind of destruction," another states. "It's a bit too wide to be something made by the beasts of the forest... Not only that, this path seems a bit off!" A large mink carrying barrels stumbles ahead while others scan the treeline. From behind a rock a voice mutters, "Uuhh..." A spiky-haired mink reacts with shock, "EHHH!!" "We don't even know who or what lies beyond!I You're gonna jump the gun and assume they're enemiesI" he protests. "We'd best tread lightly then," a serious mink replies with a "CLACK" of his weapon. They continue walking as one notes, "Flowers are blooming in rather weird and awkward places." "That's because it's the elephant skin..." "This path is definitely not people friendly..." The large mink trips with a loud "DAAAANG..." and a "CLACK".

A close-up shows a mink's worried eye as he realizes, "Which means he's probably been taken out...!!!" Another mink wonders, "The lesser minks appear to have passed straight through the gates... What happened to BarieteI" Suddenly Luffy bursts into view with a "ZIILE" sound, eyes wide and arm raised, shouting "IT'S THE TOWN!!" "WOOAAH!!" The full vista reveals a devastated city built on the elephant's back. Luffy yells at the top of his lungs, "OIIIIIIIII!!" A massive "E———n!" sound effect shakes the air. He calls out desperately, "SANJI~ NAMI~ CHOPERRRRRRRR!! BROOK!!! AND GAS...WHATEVER YOUR NAME WAS!" The ruined buildings and empty streets stretch before them. "IT'S SO EMPTYYYY!!" someone cries. "Holy crap, this country is a total mess!!"

The group stands tense among the trees. A mink growls, "Why can't we ever explore some place peaceful that doesn't make my skin crawl..." Another replies, "I've got a bad feeling about this..." A tall mink observes, "There isn't even the faintest smell of gunpowder here... Nor gas." "What happened!I" he demands. An exclamation erupts, "EH!I WHAT GUYS!I YOU GUYS HEARD SOMETHING!I" as the party reacts with alarm. A loud "CLACK" sounds. In the next instant a figure leaps forward firing with a dramatic "DASH!!" and impact effects. Close-ups capture intense eyes and a mink declaring, "THIS ONE'S MINE..."

A sword-wielding mink warrior leaps through the air with a powerful swing, the blade cutting a wide arc as "WOOOSH" trails behind. An opponent reacts with shock, "!!I" and impact lines "ビッ" explode around the clash. Below, a white-furred mink with long ears tumbles violently, followed by close-ups of the same figure flipping and a bald intruder sprawled on the ground. A voice cries out, "SHE'S IN MID-AIR.....!!" Another exclaims, "FLOATING!!" In the next sequence a bikini-clad mink shouts, "HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!!" while a dark-haired swordsman grunts in pain, "UGH!!" as debris and motion lines fill the chaotic exchange.

A massive explosion rocks the scene as a dragon-like creature bursts through a building with a deafening "GYAAA AAAAAAA AAAAAA!!!" A wide-eyed mink stares in horror. Carrot appears, sword drawn, yelling, "WE NEED TO DEAL WITH THE INTRUDERS IN THE 'WHALE'S FOREST'!!" while another voice orders, "LEAVE THEM BE!!" Someone reacts in shock, "WAH!! TALKING ANIMALS!" A terrified figure points and stammers, "THOSE CLOTHES...! THEY'RE NAMI'S!!!" and adds, "THE MINK TRIBE IS IN THE MIDDLE OF A RAID! BUT COULD IT BE... HAS NAMI PERHAPS...!I" Carrot continues her assault with a fierce "と" sound as another mink gasps, "HUHHH!I HUUUUH UUUH!I!" The final panel shows a masked mink concluding, "THEY ARE THE MINK TRIBE..."
