10,000 Meters Under the Sea

Deep beneath the sea, massive underwater volcanoes loom in the background as a small ship races through the rocky terrain. A large speech bubble declares, "THE UNDERSEA VOLCANOES ARE GOING TO ERUUUUP!!!" On the deck, a fish-man crew panics. A girl with light hair cries out, "THIS IS TERRIBLE...!!" while a large fish-man shouts, "R - ROGER DAT!!" Another yells, "ANKORO!! WADATSUMI!!! PULL THE SHIP!!" Captain Vander Decken appears with a fierce expression, ordering, "ROGER, CAPTAIN VANDER DECKEN!!" and "IT'S TIME WE TURNED BACK, MEN!!" The crew scrambles as the volcanic landscape shakes violently.

Chaos erupts on the deck of the ship as the crew reacts to the erupting undersea volcanoes. Luffy shouts, "LUFFY!!!! TELL THE KRAKEN TO GET AS FAR AWAY FROM HERE AS POSSIBLE!!" while others yell, "HOLD IT!! THERE'S NO NEED FOR THAT!!!", "HEY, SURUME EEEE!!", and "RIGHT!!" A woman comments, "HOW UNDIGNIFIED..." Another warns, "IT'S ALREADY DASHING AS FAST AS ITS TENTACLES WILL CARRY IT!!!" The giant kraken Surume thrashes in terror with its mouth wide open as the ship rocks violently. Luffy grins excitedly at the bottom, declaring, "STILL, THESE ERUPTIONS I'VE GOTTA SEE!!!" and orders, "EVACUATE TO THE FRONT OF THE SHIP!!" while others protest the danger.

A massive underwater volcanic eruption explodes across the page with a huge stylized SFX "ドゴォン" dominating the center. The volcano spews ash, rocks, and debris into the water as the shockwave rips outward. On the left side of the page, Franky screams in terror while riding his BF-37 metal horse, "WHAAAA AAAAAA AAAAA!!!" and "AAAAAA AAGHHH HHHHH!!" The kraken and ship are hurled violently by the blast as the entire seabed shakes from the force of the eruption.

The crew screams as scalding water and magma surge across the ocean floor. "WAAAAAGH HHHHHH!!!" A chained octopus-like creature thrashes violently. "IT'S RAISING THE WATER TEMPERATURE!!!" "HOT!! TOO HOT!!!" "THERE'S MAGMA FLOWING ACROSS THE OCEAN FLOOO OOOOR...!!!" The ghost ship and the umibouzu are caught in the chaos. "RUN FOR IT, SURUME EEEEE!!" The temperature difference twists the current into a whirlpool. "THE TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCE IS TWISTING THE CURRENT INTO A WHIRLPOOL!!!" "DON'T GIVE INNN!!!" "HEAD FOR THAT TRENCH!!!" Nami shouts, "NAMI-SAN, WHICH DIRECTION IS FISHMAN ISLAND -" as the ship plunges. "WE'RE ALMOST THERE!!" "...JUST KEEP GOING STRAIGHT!!!" "EVEN NOW HE'S HAVING UNHEALTHY THOUGHTSII!!" Brook cries, "BLEUR GHH!!!"

The crew stares into a pitch-black abyss. "IT'S LIKE A CLIFF OF DEATH!!! ARE YOU SERIOUSII!!" "IT'S EVEN DARKER THAN THE DRAKNESS!!!" "IS THERE REALLY A FISH-MAN ISLAND DOWN THEREII!!" Luffy yells, "LEAP RIGHT IN, SURUMEEEEEEE!!!" Surume screams in terror. "LUPPY!! THIS HAS GOTTA BE THE PATH TO HELL -" "AND IN FRONT, IT'S PITCHER THAN PITCH BLACK!!! THERE IS GONNA BE MORE MONSTERS DOWN THERE!!!" "WE'RE NEVER GONNA MAKE IT BACK ALIVE EEEEE!!!" "IT'S SO HOT BACK THERE!!! IT'S TOO HOOOT!!!" The octopus dives deeper as the ship follows into the trench.

The seabed erupts violently. "IT'S ERUPTING AGAIN!!!" Surume is flung upward. "!!I" Rocks tumble in an avalanche. "IT'S A ROCK AVALANCHE!!! WATCH OUT!!!" "THE ERUPTION JUST NOW MUST HAVE DAMAGED THE TRENCH!!!" Nami cries out in alarm. "CLOUDS OF DIRTI!" "ROCKSI!!" A massive figure on the ship yells, "--WHAT IS THATI! THERE'S SOMETHING UP ABOVE!!" The octopus dodges falling debris as the crew braces for impact.

Luffy clings to the bubble. "LUFFY, YOU HOLD ON TO ME TIGHT!!" "I'LL HEAD OUT OF THE BUBBLE AND SLICE IT UP!!" "SURE THING!" Surume is ordered, "DODGE IT, SURUMEE EEEE!!!" The octopus crashes into dense sargasso seaweed. "SARGASSO" Usopp attacks, "HISSATSU MIDORIBOSHI" as a star-shaped projectile explodes. "ZORO!! YOU CAN'T!!!" "HEY!! GET OFF ME!!!" "WE'RE ALREADY EIGHT THOUSAND METRES DOWN!! IF YOU LEAVE THE BUBBLE, YOU'LL BE CRUSHED BY THE PRESSURE!!!" Surume struggles, "GET OUT OF THE WAY WHILE YOU HAVE THE CHANCE, SURUME!!!" "IT'S ONLY GOING TO SLOW IT DOWN!!" Usopp cheers, "IT SPROUTED INTO SEA-WEED!!! YOU'RE AMAZING, USOPP!!!" "WOOO OOW!!!"

At the bottom of the trench, 10,000 meters under the sea, the Thousand Sunny lies on the seafloor amid bubbles and faint light. A narration box reads: "10,000 METRES UNDER THE SEA: THE DEPTHS (BOTTOM OF THE TRENCH)". The crew reacts in shock as light appears. Nami exclaims, "...LIGHTI WHY IS THERE LIGHT DOWN HERE...I!" while shielding her eyes, "TOO BRIGHT!! MY EYES CAN'T HANDLE IT!!!" Usopp shouts, "...W-WE'RE SAFE...!!!" Inside the ship, the log pose spins wildly. Nami confirms, "YES!! THERE'S NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!! THE LOG POST IS POINTING STRAIGHT TO THAT ISLAND!! THAT MUST BE..." Usopp points excitedly, "HEY, NAMI!!! IS THAT ITI!" Brook laughs, "YOHoho HOHOHO!!!" while Chopper yells, "LOOK - UP OVER THERE!!!" and Franky adds, "HEY, YOU GUYS!! TAKE A LOOK AT THIS!!" A voice replies, "EVEN THOUGH I DON'T HAVE ANY EYES!!!" The crew stares in awe as the ship is suddenly struck by massive impact lines and debris, with someone shouting, "WHooo OOOOOOO AAAAAA!!! JUST MADE IT!!!" and large SFX "ドドドドドド" echoing. Usopp cries, "NICE GOING THERE, USOPP!!!" while Sanji smirks, "INDEED!!! YOUR SPLIT-SECOND JUDGEMENT SKILLS ARE IMPECCABLE!!!" and replies modestly, "...WELL, WELL...!"

The crew erupts in excitement at the sight of the island. Sanji cries, "THE ISLAND WHERE THE MERMAIDS DANCE!! THE EXQUISITE BEAUTY OF THE MERMAID PRINCESS!!!" Luffy cheers, "ONE OF THE GREATEST SIGHTS OF THE GRAND LINE!!! ALL RIIIIIIGHT!!! WE MADEEEEE ITTTTTT!!!" while Usopp gasps, "O... OHH... WE'VE MADE IT... HAVE WE...I!I! KEHIHI..." JUST THE ANTICIPATION IS ALREADY KILLING HIMI!" as Sanji foams, "MER-MAIIDS!! MER-MAI!! MAIURGLPHHH!!!" and begs, "I'M SORRY, SANJI... I WASN'T ABLE TO TREAT YOU IN TIME... YOU PROBABLY SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED TO MEET ANY REAL MERMAIDS... DOCTOR!!!" A massive impact SFX "ドドド" shakes the ship. The crew stares in awe at the enormous glowing structure ahead, with narration noting, "IT'S SURROUNDED BY A GIGANTIC BUBBLE... THERE MIGHT BE AIR INSIDE..." and "IT'S HUGE!!!" Sanji declares, "BUT!!! IF HE MEETS THE MERMAIDS OF FISHMAN ISLAND IS THIS MAN'S DREAM!!! MEETING THE MERMAIDS OF FISHMAN ISLAND IS THIS MAN'S DREAM!!!" while vowing, "BETTER TO DIE OGLING THE MERMAIDS TO MY HEART'S CONTENT... THAN TO LIVE WITH MY DREAM UNFULFILLED..."

A swarm of massive sea monsters surrounds the ship, including a giant snake-like creature, elephant-like beasts, and a huge kraken. The crew panics: "AAAAAAAAAA AAARGHHHH!! IT'S ALL OVER!! WE WERE SO CLOSE, TOO!!!" and "A SWARM OF SEA MONSTERSI!" Luffy and Nami stand on deck as Luffy drools, "MAN, I CAN'T WAIT... I WONDER WHAT KIND OF MEAT THEY USE IN FISHMAN ISLAND FOOD... I WILL MEET THEM!!!" Nami asks, "LUFFY! COULD YOU WIPE THAT DROOL AWAY AND TALK TO SURUMEI WE NEED TO FIND THE ENTRANCE TO THE ISLAND!!" while reacting, "HEY, WHAT THE HECK ARE THESE GUYSI!" The kraken Surume appears, with a voice shouting, "WHY DO YOU SUBMIT TO THE LIKES OF THESE MERE HUMANS, KRAKEN!!!" and "WHAT'RE YOU DOING, SURUMEI! YOU STILL GOTTA CARRY UUUUS!!!" Luffy yells, "AAAAAHH HHHHH!!!" as the monsters attack. A fish-man notes, "A PIRATE SHIP... YOU, TOO, MAY BE CALLED ENEMIES OF MEN. THUS, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE!!" while another remarks on the Straw Hats' past deeds against Arlong. Luffy reacts with shock, "WHO ON EARTH...I!" and "WOW, THAT'S SO COOOOL!! AND THERE'S SOMEONE RIDING THEMI!"

Hammond, a tall conger fish-man in a black hat labeled "WARRIOR OF THE NEW FISHMAN PIRATES HAMMOND (A CONGER FISHMAN)", looms over the crew with a wide grin, flanked by other fish-men including one with a trident. He taunts, "LET'S HEAR IT FROM YOU...!!! ARE YOU FRIEND OR FOEI WILL YOU SWEAR YOUR ALLEGIANCE TO THE NEW FISHMAN PIRATES...I! OR WILL YOU DECLINE!!!" and declares, "SUCH ACTS PARALLEL THOSE OF OUR BELOVED HERO OF FISHMAN ISLAND, THE GREAT FISHER TIGER!! HAMOHA MOHA MOHA!! NOW, WHAT SHOULD WE DO WITH DOI" The crew reacts in alarm below. Luffy shouts, "FRANKY, GET THE SHIP FILLED UP WITH FUEL!!" while Nami demands, "WHAT DID YOU SAYI!" Hammond threatens, "IF YOU DECLINE, THEN WE WILL SINK YOUR SHIP FORTHWITH!!!" as the fish-men surround the Sunny.

The Straw Hats face a desperate choice ten thousand meters below the sea. Nami stares in shock as voices argue around her. "SO WE'LL HAVE TO RUN! WE'LL USE ALL THE AIR WE HAVE LEFT FOR ONE LAST COUP DE BURST TO FIRE US STRAIGHT INTO FISHMAN ISLAND!!!" "...BUT AT THE SAME TIME, WE'RE TEN THOUSAND METRES BELOW THE OCEAN SURFACE!! WE CAN'T FIGHT THEM DOWN HERE; WE WOULDN'T STAND A CHANCE!" "DO YOU HONESTLY THINK LUFFY AND THE OTHERS ARE GOING TO SUBMIT TO THESE PEOPLEI!" "WHAT ARE YOU PLANNINGI!" "ARE YOU INSANEI!"
