The fight intensifies. The samurai refuses I REFUSE! NEVER! NOT THAT SWORD! as blades clash with SFX ズキーン and HORYA!. The bandit questions the samurai's identity. Narration explains THAT LOSS INCITED THE ANGER OF THE SWORD GOD! DEFEAT CAME TO EVERY VILLAGE! EVENTUALLY, OUR WHOLE COUNTRY WAS OVERRUN! THE DAY THAT SWORD LEFT THIS LAND IS THE DAY MISFORTUNE ARRIVED! YOUR SHUSUI IS A STOLEN TREASURE OF WANO! A large SFX ババババーン!! erupts over the bridge. The samurai yells STOP YOUR QUARREL! while the bandit cries GODI! and a woman with dark hair gasps SHU-SUII! WHA-I! amid more impacts.

In the wilderness, a fierce clash erupts between a samurai and a monk. The samurai in a straw hat swings his sword with dramatic flair, laughing "KAPPAPPAPPA! WHY, INDEED" as he questions, "ARE A SAMURAI AND A MONK FIGHTING OUT HERE IN THE WILDERNESSI!" He continues, "NEITHER OF YOU WISHES TO KILL THE OTHER! HOW DROLL." At Ringo Bandit Bridge, snow falls gently. Kawamatsu cries out, "KAWAMATSU! WAAAAAHHHH!" A figure in a straw hat replies, "I NEVER WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT I WOULD MEET YOU HERE, IN A PLACE LIKE THIS. FILLS ME WITH HAPPINESS, LADY HIYORI! BUT THE FACT THAT YOU ARE ALIVE AND WELL..." Kawamatsu continues emotionally, "ESPECIALLY BECAUSE YOU COULD EASILY SUBSIST IF YOU WERE ON YOUR OWN! I COULDN'T BEAR THE THOUGHT OF YOU DYING TO SAVE ME. I COULDN'T BEAR TO SEE YOU WASTE AWAY, YEAR AFTER YEAR..." Hiyori, tearful, answers, "I'M SO SORRY... BACK THEN, I WAS SO SCARED! AND YOU ALWAYS GAVE ME ANY FOOD YOU FOUND..." The curly-haired man reflects, "COME TO THINK OF IT, SHE DID SAY THAT AFTER HER PARENTS DIED, SHE WAS RAISED BY A KAPPA..."

Hiyori smiles through tears at the kappa-like Kawamatsu, who says, "SO THAT'S HOW IT WAS. WELL, AS YOU CAN SEE, I'VE GOTTEN QUITE FAT IN THE YEARS SINCE!" She replies, "WHAT A KIND REASON! I GOT SO SCARED... I'M SORRY FOR RUNNING!" Suddenly, a mechanical figure bursts in with "DODODODODO" and "HMI!" A massive explosion erupts as the cyborg-like attacker fires, sending Kawamatsu flying backward with impact lines and debris. Kawamatsu shouts in shock, "!!I" while the attacker looms over the chaos.

A tense standoff erupts as a voice shouts, "WHO COMESI!" Another reacts, "HUHI!" A samurai wearing a wide straw hat and carrying a sword stands alert amid swirling snow and debris. Two armed men charge forward with rifles and blades. One declares, "YOU'VE STOLEN AWAY SO MANY OF OUR WEAPONS! WE'RE TAKIN' 'EM ALL BACK TODAY!" The other laughs, "WAHAHAHA! WE'RE HERE FOR REVENGE, GYUKIMARU! THESE GUNS CAN TAKE OUT A WILD BEAST." A massive "どどん!!" impact rings out. Close-ups show narrowed eyes watching the scene. A loud "KKLLAAANNG!" echoes as blades clash. The straw-hatted samurai draws his sword with a sharp "SHHNG!" A voice calls, "LADY HIYORI. GET DOWN." Hiyori responds, "ARE THESE YER FRIENDSI!" The samurai replies firmly, "DOESN'T MATTER! SHOOT 'EM ALL!"

A massive clash erupts with a huge creature-like figure thrashing, sending debris flying as someone cries "UWAGH!" Smaller panels show frantic movement: "OI! WAIT! WHY ARE YOU RUNNING AGAINI!" with panting sounds "HAA-HAA-" and "PFF". A dramatic close-up reveals a fierce, mask-like face with swirling patterns and sharp teeth.
