Surprise Zombie

A massive three-headed zombie dog with spikes and bandages snarls furiously, "GRRR RRR!!!......" and "URR...". In the ruined stone hall below, the beast growls again "GRR RRR..." as a woman in a black dress exclaims, "WHATI IT LOOKS LIKE IT WANTS TO FIGHT." Luffy grins widely in the foreground, "LET'S TRY TO TAME IT." Zoro, sweating, replies firmly, "NO, WAIT. THEN I WILL..."

The zombie dog shakes violently. Voices call out, "SHAKE.", "DOGS ARE DOGS. THERE, THERE, THERE.", and "FOOL. EVEN IF IT'S A DOG, IT'S LIKE THE BOSS DOG!!" The beast charges; a powerful kick lands with explosive impact, "BOW WOW!! KOON!!" and "!!!". The dog is forced down as voices coax it, "THAT'S IT, LET ME GO SLOWLY... YOU'RE A GOOD BOY.", "THERE, THERE, THERE...", "THERE, THERE, GOOD BOY.", and "RIGHT AFTER HE WAS WARNED..." The creature whimpers, "......" while Zoro watches with a stern glare.

Luffy leaps high and delivers a devastating kick to the three-headed zombie dog's jaws, "GUGYAH!!!!" and "YOU BASTARD!!!!". The impact sends the beast crashing down amid debris and impact lines, "DOWN." In the aftermath, the defeated dog lies sprawled as Zoro and another crewmate stare in shock, one saying "ERM, NO, NO..." while sweat drops fall.

Sanji examines the battered zombie fox creature and mutters, "EVEN STILL, AT THE POINT THAT THERE'S FOX MIXED IN, IT'S NOT EVEN A VALID CREATURE ANYMORE." Nami replies, "ASIDE FROM THAT, WHAT TERRIBLE WOUNDS. IT'S A WONDER THAT IT'S ALIVE." Sanji suddenly shouts, "NAMI-SAN, HEEEY!! NAMI-SAN, WHERE ARE YOU!!I" The group approaches a massive gate as Sanji continues, "ONCE WE LEAVE THE MOAT, THE FOREST IS IN FRONT OF US..." Luffy grins, "THEN I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS ISLAND!! IF SOMETHING THIS INTERESTING POPPED OUT AS SOON AS WE ENTERED," while Sanji warns, "WELL... YOU SHOULDN'T SYMPATHIZE TOO MUCH WITH THE LOSERS; IT'LL AFFECT HIS PRIDE." Nami stands calmly and says, "YOU SEEM TO HAVE NO ENERGY, CERBERUS-SAN." The massive stitched Cerberus zombie growls with a fierce "はっ!!" Luffy looks surprised, "HUHI....."

The unicorn zombie rears up and strikes with a massive "ばー!!!ーん" impact, sending the fox zombie flying. Luffy stares in shock, sweat flying, and yells, "A MIDDLE-AGED MAN TREE... AND A UNICORN ARE HAVING A DRINK TOGETHER!!" The scene cuts to Luffy and the crew facing more bizarre zombies. Luffy declares, "NO WAY!!! YOU GUYS!! DO YOU WANT TO BE PIRATES WITH-" as a massive zombie shouts, "ME TOO!! THESE ARE RARE!!" Another cries, "I CAUGHT IT—!!!" while a small zombie pleads, "WUUOO, PLEASE LET US GO!!!"

The crew arrives at a towering gothic building labeled "DOCTOR HOGBACK'S MANSION." A voice sighs, "THAT WAS CLOSE..." Inside, Absalom and Perona discuss bounties: "WE'VE GOT SIX BOUNTY HEADS THIS TIME. ONE OF THEM EXCEEDS 100 MILLION." "SHE'S GOT A BOUNTY ON HER HEAD. I WON'T GIVE HER TO YOU." "THE CAPTAIN IS 300 MILLION!!" Absalom growls, "IF YOU KNOW THAT, THEN USE ALL OF YOUR POWERS TO CAPTURE THE PREY... ABSALOM." Perona replies, "300 MILLION... YOU'RE TAKING IT LIGHTLY, PERONA." Absalom declares, "HOGBACK... I'M SEARCHING FOR A BRIDE AND I'M INTERESTED IN THAT GIRL!! I'M GOING TO MAKE HER MINE!!"

Inside the mansion's second floor hallway, Nami gasps, "... NO, I DIDN'T!!! YOU SAW IT!!" Usopp shouts, "YOU SAW HIM RESTRAINING MY BODY, DIDN'T YOU!I THERE WAS!! FOR SURE!! THERE'S NO WAY AN INVISIBLE MAN EXISTS!!" Nami insists, "I'M NOT GOING TO BELIEVE A SINGLE THING THAT I SEE ON THIS ISLAND!!" Usopp argues back about the invisible man. Nami counters, "HOW GREEDY AM I!I YOU'RE TRYING TO GET ME TO SAY THAT I SAW YOU NAKED AND DEMAND MONEY FROM ME. THAT'S A TRICK QUESTION!!!" Usopp and Nami debate the zombies and ghosts as Nami states, "THE ZOMBIES ARE THAT KIND OF RACE... 'UNDER-GROUNDERS'." Usopp adds, "THE GHOST IS A 'WEIRD BIRD.' THE INVISIBLE MAN IS MY 'IMAGINATION.'" Nami concludes, "BUT THAT'S A SPECIAL EXCEPTION OUT OF SPECIAL EXCEPTIONS...!! TWO IDENTICAL ABILITIES DON'T EXIST IN THIS WORLD. AND IT'S TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE DEAD TO BE REVIVED."

Chopper stares wide-eyed and declares, "IT MAY BE THAT KIND OF MIRACLE IS HAPPENING ON THIS ISLAND." Usopp adds, "IT'S SOMETHING THAT DOCTOR HOGBACK THREW AWAY HIS LIFE OF GLORY FOR RESEARCH, SO..." Nami questions the logic while Usopp continues, "SURE, FROM A MEDICAL STANDPOINT... EVERYTHING IS INCONCEIVABLE AND EVEN I THINK THAT IT'S MORE NATURAL TO THINK OF THINGS LIKE THAT." Usopp finishes, "ISN'T THAT TRUE!I IT'S MORE NATURAL TO THINK THAT THOSE KINDS OF THINGS EXIST!!" Chopper snaps back angrily, "YOU'RE THE RUDE ONES!! YOU'RE ASSUMING THAT THE DOCTOR AND THE ZOMBIES ARE COHORTS WITHOUT ANY EVIDENCE!!" Nami defends Hogback, "DOCTOR HOGBACK IS A REALLY GREAT MAN!! I LOOK UP TO HIM!!" and asks, "DON'T YOU TRUST THAT MAN A BIT TOO MUCH!I" The group stares at a large portrait labeled 328. Nami murmurs, "IT'S JUST EERIE." Usopp notes the eerie atmosphere as they move deeper into the candlelit hall filled with paintings and crosses. Nami concludes, "HMMM, THAT'S TRUE... IT IS ONLY A HUNCH, BUT..."

Chopper panics, "D-DOCTOR~~~~!!! WHERE DID YOU GO~!I" Nami recognizes the room, "THIS IS THE ROOM FROM BEFORE, RIGHTI" Usopp wonders, "AND... WHY IS IT PITCH BLACKI" They enter a vast, dimly lit hall with chandeliers and portraits. A voice calls out, "WE TOOK OUR BATH~..." and another says, "C-CINDY-CHANI" Usopp yells furiously at Hildon, "YOU~...!!! HOW DARE YOU LEAVE US AT THE GRAVEYARD EARLIER!!!" Hildon screams, "HILDON!!! GYAH!!" while explaining, "THE TWO OF THEM HAVE ALREADY CALLED IT A DAY...!!!" Hildon adds nervously, "IT HAPPENED WHILE I WAS LOOKING AFTER THE HORSES. I'M VERY ASHAMED."

Hildon nervously offers, "COME THIS WAY, PLEASE. I WILL ESCORT YOU TO YOUR ROOMS..." Nami shouts, "EVERYONE ON THIS ISLAND IS IN CAHOOTS WITH EACH OTHER, RIGHT!I ALL LIES!!" Usopp protests, "DON'T SAY SUCH THINGS THAT SOUND SO BAD..." Chopper suggests, "WHA!I WAIT A MINUTE! LET US TALK TO DR. HOGBACK A LITTLE MORE." Nami agrees reluctantly, "THANKS A LOT, BUT WE'LL BE TAKING OUR LEAVE IMMEDIATELY." Usopp questions the door, "IS THAT THE REAL ENTRANCE TO THE NEXT WORLDI" and fears, "YOU'RE GOING TO INCORRIGIBLY 'ESCORT' US AGAIN...!I" Hildon laughs, "HO HO HO HO. YOU'VE BEEN DUMPED, HILDON." The zombie in the painting begins to move. Hildon warns, "ISN'T IT ALRIGHT ALREADYI THESE KIDS ARE STARTING TO REALIZE THINGS..." and states, "I WOULD LIKE YOU TO LEAVE ME ALONE. I WILL GET THEM TO THE ROOM."

The zombie bursts from the painting with a massive roar, "I WON'T LET YOU LEAVE, LITTLE BOYS!!!" and "GYAAAAAH!!!" Chopper and Usopp scream in terror as a shadowy arm lunges out. A voice cries, "A ZOMBIE FROM INSIDE THE PAINTING!!I" Chopper yells, "UWAH!!! CHOPPER!!!" while dodging the attack. The creature emerges fully, labeled with sound effects "ガレしっ!!!" and "ギャアアアア". Nami shouts desperately, "CHOPPER!!" and "HELP!!!" as the zombie looms over them. Nearby paintings rattle with "BUHSHIHI... CLANK" and "BUHI" as more figures stir.

A pig-faced zombie boss looms with a massive sword, declaring, "THE LEADER OF THE ZOMBIES IN THIS ROOM IS ME, 'BUHICHUCK'-SAMA!! DON'T THINK THAT YOU CAN TAKE EVEN A STEP OUT OF THIS ROOM!! BUH!!!" Nami yelps in pain as something snags her leg. "OUCH, OWWWWW!! WHAT!I THE SKIN RUG ON THE FLOOR....!!" A wall-mounted animal head suddenly speaks, shocking everyone: "..... THE WALL-MOUNTED ANIMAL TALKED!!!" The enormous stitched bearskin rug rears up and roars, "WAH!! WHO IS IT THAT STABBED MY BACK WITH A SWORD!!II" Buhichuck and his minions react with panic as the rug thrashes violently across the room.

The room is revealed to be "FULL OF ZOMBIES!!!" Nami screams, "GYAAA AAAA!! IT'S LIKE NAMI SAYS. THIS MANSION IS....!!" The massive bearskin rug lunges upward, roaring "HM!II" as Buhichuck swings down from the chandelier yelling, "TAKE THIS, YOU BEARSKIN RUG!!!" The rug counters with heavy blows while zombies below shout, "KNOCK HIM DOWN, BEAR RUG!!! DROP HIM!! HEY. THERE'S ONE HANGING FROM THE CHANDELIER!!" Nami is knocked off balance amid the chaos, the rug's stitched body dominating the lower panels as it attacks.

Panic erupts as the rug ignites: "FIRE!!! SCARY!!!" "HOT, HOT, HOT!!! IT'S ROTTEN HOT!!!" "OH NO, IT'S A CANDLE!!!" "PUT IT OUT-!!!" Buhichuck hurls flaming candles while shouting, "TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU!! I ALREADY KNOW YOUR WEAKNESS!! TAKE THIS, AND THIS, AND THIS!! HOW DANGEROUS! YOU'LL START A FIRE!!" Nami and Chopper fight back with a weapon, Nami yelling "OK!!!" Chopper calls out, "CHOPPER, NAMI!! TO THE DOOR!! LET'S GET OUT OF THIS MANSION!!!" A tiny top-hatted zombie flees, screaming "I'VE HAD ENOUGH!!! I'M LEAVING!!!" while others yell "GYA AAAH!!! PUT THE FIRE OUT!!!"

At the massive double doors, someone yanks the handle: "CLICK!!" Nami pants, "I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS PLACE." Buhichuck roars, "HURRY AND OPEN IT!!!" The lock refuses to budge. Nami frantically works the mechanism amid metallic sounds "CLINK CLANK CLINK" while voices cry, "DON!! DON!! DON'T TELL ME..." Nami gasps in horror, "IT'S..." as the group realizes "WE'RE LOCKED IN!!! IT DOESN'T OPEN!!!" Behind them the bearskin rug charges forward, its jaws open: "HOW DARE YOU... THE BEARSKIN RUG IS COMING!!!"

A massive stitched creature smashes through the stone wall as a voice yells "GET DOWN!!" A terrified figure tumbles through the opening, screaming "GWAAAAH!!!" In the next panels the group flees down a corridor while grotesque zombies pursue them. One zombie lunges forward shouting "I WON'T LET YOU ESCAPE!!!" The escaping characters gasp for breath: "T-THAT WAS CLOSE. ANYWAY, LET'S JUST GET OUT OF THIS ROOM!!! TO A DIFFERENT ROOM..." "HAA..." Another panel shows them realizing their predicament: "IT'S NO GOOD. WE'VE GOT NOWHERE TO ESCAPE TO!!!" "IN THE FIREPLACE!!" "UWAH. WE'RE..." A desperate cry rings out "WAIT!!" as more zombies close in, accompanied by the sound effect "DOTETE" and frantic shouts of "UWAH!!!"

The group crashes through a doorway with a loud "どてっ...!!" and lands in a heap, one yelling "UWE!" while another voice notes "SQUEEK..." They sit up in confusion: "WHERE IS THIS!I" "HRMI" A large stitched zombie named Buhichuck appears, laughing "... BUHIHI, THERE'S NO NEED TO HURRY... NO MATTER WHERE THEY RUN TO IN THIS MANSION, OUR NAKAMA, THE 'SURPRISE ZOMBIES,' ARE EVERYWHERE, BUHI!!" Other zombies shout "THEY'LL GET INTO HOGBACK-SAMA'S LABORATORY!!" "FOLLOW THEM!!" "OH NO!! THE SECRET PASSAGE OPENED!!" "HEY, THEY DISAPPEARED!! THEY DISAPPEARED FROM THE FIREPLACE!!" "IT'S NO USE. THEY'RE BLOCKING THE DOOR FROM THE OTHER SIDE!!!"

The panicked group runs through the mansion. "NOT THE HALL!! DON'T GO ANYWHERE WITH PAINTINGS!!" "SOMEWHERE... THAT ROOM!!!" A monstrous zombie roars "AAARGH!!!" while another screams "UWAH!! ANOTHER PAINTING..." They burst into a room filled with framed portraits. One character pants "HAA..." and stares at a large photograph: "NO... IT'S A PHOTOGRAPH. WHAT A RELIEF... IT'S NOT A ZOMBIE..." Another reacts "...!!!" The top-hatted man recognizes the girl in the picture: "ISN'T THIS... THAT GIRL...!I" "CINDY-CHAN... WHO HATES DISHES...!! WHAT IS THIS ROOMI" The sound effect "Oワオオオ" echoes as they catch their breath.
