SOMEBODY'S HERE

CHAPTER 118 SOMEBODY’S HERE begins with a view through a window into a lively room. Coby and Helmeppo appear in a thought bubble, Coby smiling and pointing while Helmeppo looks stern. Inside the room, a Marine with MARINE on his shirt stands with his back turned as other sailors react with surprise. A woman with dark hair gestures near a man on the floor. Outside the window, a small skull rests on the sill. The caption reads: COBY AND HELMEPPO’S DIARY OF THEIR HARSH STRUGGLES VOL.29 A TEMPORARY FAREWELL. Japanese sound effects and dialogue fragments appear at the bottom.

A massive impact shakes the island as giant Dorry staggers from a huge explosion, sword drawn, smoke and debris flying with bold sound effect ドドドドン!!. In the next panel a long-haired woman pleads desperately, Please listen to us, Mr. Dorry! We’re just as clueless as to why that rum exploded! while tending to an injured person who coughs. Luffy appears close-up, eyes wide with fury, shouting How dare you…! as more coughs and impact sounds fill the air.

The massive warrior towers over the scene, his enormous cannon-arm blasting wildly as Luffy is sent flying backward through the air. "YOU DESPI-CABLE LITTLE...!" the giant roars. Below, Luffy skids across the deck, eyes blazing with fury. He plants his feet and dashes forward with a determined "DASH!" The giant coughs heavily from the recoil, smoke pouring from his weapon. Luffy closes the distance in a blur, refusing to back down.

Luffy stretches both arms and launches himself at the giant. "GOMU GOMU..." he shouts. His rubber limbs snap forward, slamming into the warrior's massive torso and sending the giant reeling. The impact rocks the entire structure as the giant's eyes widen in shock. "UGH!" he grunts, the force knocking him off balance amid flying debris and splintered wood.

The giant swings his massive weapon in a wide arc. Luffy is hurled through the air with a startled "WHOA!" as palm trees and wooden walkways whip past. "NGH!" Luffy grunts on impact. The giant presses forward with a fierce "HAHH!" and another heavy cough, his attacks creating shockwaves that shake the tropical battlefield.

Luffy stretches his leg high and prepares his next move. "GOMU GOMU..." he calls out while apologizing, "SORRY ABOUT THIS." The giant braces himself with heavy breaths. Luffy's body snaps forward like a slingshot. "ROCKET!!" he yells as he launches himself at blinding speed, the giant's eyes going wide with shock at the incoming strike.

A massive giant warrior reels backward from a tremendous blow, his enormous sword swinging wildly as his body arcs through the air amid impact lines and debris. His face twists in agony with bulging eyes and gritted teeth. "URGH HHHH!" he roars. "AGAHHHHH!" A small figure tumbles nearby. The giant crashes down with a massive explosion of force, dust, and motion lines. "GAH!" he grunts as the impact shakes the ground. In the distance, a tiny Luffy-like silhouette reacts with surprise. "HUHI"

The defeated giant warrior kneels heavily on the ground amid clouds of dust and palm trees, coughing violently with sweat flying. "KA... HAH..." he gasps, body trembling. In close-up his helmeted face snarls through the cough: "A DEVIL FRUIT USER, WERE YOU NOW... SO YOU WERE..." Nami stares in shock, eyes wide and sweat drops flying. "LUFFY!I" she cries. Her expression shifts to alarm. "!!I" A large impact sound erupts nearby as the giant's weapon strikes the earth. "HOW CARELESS OF ME...!" the giant mutters.

The giant warrior is hurled violently through the air, cape billowing, limbs flailing amid motion lines and dust. "L U F F Y!" Nami shouts from below. Luffy lands in a daze inside a small boat, eyes swirling and mouth agape. "GASP!" he reacts. The giant lies sprawled on the ground, limbs twitching. Nami stands with a serious expression, sweat on her face. "HE WOULDN'T HAVE CALMED DOWN OTHERWISE," she says. "DON'T WORRY, YOU DID THE RIGHT THING," another voice replies. "I THINK HE'LL BE FINE." "HOW'S HEI" "ARE YOU ALRIGHT!I" concerned voices call out as Luffy sits up.

Luffy glares furiously, sweat flying, teeth clenched and hat askew as he points forward. "I'M REAL PISSED OFF!" he declares. In the next panels he continues angrily: "AND MY CREWMATES WOULD NEVER HAVE DONE SUCH A LOW ACT! IT WASN'T THE OTHER GIANT, WHO PLACED A BOMB INSIDE THAT BARREL OF RUM." A small figure stands in the distance. "HMI IT'S AS THE MISTER HERE SAID." The wide island vista shows palm trees and mountains. "IS ON THIS ISLAND... SOMEBODY ELSE," a voice concludes as the scene expands.

A large reptilian creature stares in shock with a "!I" as something cracks nearby. It lunges forward with a fierce "GIRU!!" roar, charging through the jungle foliage. The beast reaches a strange wax-covered structure and begins clawing at it, emitting confused sounds "GR... KAH KAH!" while perched atop the dripping white mass. In a close-up, a scarred man with dark hair glares at the creature and orders, "MOVE IT, YOU BIG FAT LIZARD."

From above, a voice declares "LEAVE IT TO ME." as a small figure leaps into action. The reptilian creature is suddenly slammed downward with tremendous force, the impact marked by massive sound effects and the label "10,000 KG PRESS!" The beast is crushed into the ground amid debris and motion lines. Nearby, the door to the wax structure swings open with an "OPEN" label as a silhouetted figure steps inside. The creature hops up with a "HOP" after the strike.

Mr. 3 lounges with a teacup, addressing the returning Mr. 5 with "SO YOU'VE RETURNED, HAVE YOU MR. 5I" while Miss Valentine snoozes nearby with "SNOOZE SNOOZE." In the next scene, Mr. 5 stands confidently as Mr. 3 continues, "HMPH, AN IMPRESSIVE LITTLE ABILITY YOU'VE GOT THERE, INSTANTLY CRAFTING A HIDEOUT IN THESE JUNGLES... LET ME MAKE ONE THING CLEAR TO YOU RIGHT NOW. THIS MISSION IS STILL OURS TO COMPLETE SO I'D APPRECIATE IT IF YOU DIDN'T INTERFERE." Miss Valentine adds, "WE WON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE TWICE."

Mr. 3 berates the others: "IT'S BECAUSE WE CARELESSLY LET OUR GUARDS DOWN! WE HAD NO IDEA THE PRINCESS WOULD HAVE PIRATE ESCORTS!" Mr. 5 retorts "WHAT!I" while Miss Valentine notes "YOU FAILED BECAUSE YOU ARE WEAK." Mr. 3 dismisses their excuses, "MISTAKESI THAT'S A LITTLE OFF, ISN'T ITI" He then offers, "I SHALL GRANT YOU WITH 30% OF THE PAY FOR THIS MISSION. HOWEVER, CONSIDERING YOU SUCCESSFULLY MANAGED TO TAIL OUR TARGETS TO THIS ISLAND..." and warns, "TO LOSE TO OUR ENEMIES IS AN ACT AS SHAMEFUL AS REVEALING OUR ORGANIZATION'S EXISTENCE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. THE MISSIONS WE UNDERTAKE MUST BE ACCOMPLISHED PERFECTLY WITH NO CARELESS MISTAKES, YOU REALIZEI HAD NO IDEA!I HMPH, WHAT CHILDISH EXCUSES YOU RESORT TO, DON'T YOU THINKI MIGHT I REMIND YOU THAT WE ARE PROFESSIONALS." Finally he concludes, "I'M AFRAID I'LL HAVE TO TAKE SOME ACTIONS TO MAKE SURE YOU TWO NEVER INTERFERE WITH ME AGAIN. BUT IF YOU STILL WISH FOR ME TO NOT INTERFERE..."

Miss Valentine and Mr. 5 sit with a snoozing companion in a striped hat. Miss Valentine speaks calmly while Mr. 5 looks tense. At a table nearby, the group discusses their situation. One agent says, "I'M SURE YOU'VE ALREADY SEEN WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT, HAVEN'T YOUI" Another replies, "AN OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE SUCH AN ENORMOUS SUM OF MONEY THAT WE NEED NOT FIGHT OVER IT." A third adds, "THERE IS A MOST FORTUITOUS OPPORTUNITY FOR US ON THIS ISLAND." Mr. 5 growls, "HMPH... NO NEED TO MAKE SUCH A SCOWLING FACE, HELP YOURSELF TO SOME OF THIS BLACK TEA." The scene shifts to a massive wanted poster. A voice declares, "YOU HAVE MY SINCEREST THANKS FOR GIVING ME THIS CHANCE TO COME TO THIS ISLAND." The poster reads "WANTED!!" above the faces of two giants labeled "DORRY & BROGY" with a combined bounty of 200,000,000 Beli. Someone notes, "TO BE HONEST, EVEN I WAS COMPLETELY TAKEN ABACK WHEN I FIRST SAW IT... TAKE A LOOK AT THESE WANTED POSTERS...."

A close-up of a bespectacled man explains the history. "THEY WERE CALLED THE WARRIOR GIANT PIRATES AND THE TWO GIANTS WHO LED THIS FIENDISH PIRATE CREW ARE ON THE VERY ISLAND WE'RE ON. KNOWN AS 'DORRY THE BLUE OGRE' AND 'BROGY THE RED OGRE,' THEIR NAMES HAVE LONG SINCE FADED AWAY INTO MERE LEGENDS OF THE PAST..." He continues, "THESE ARE WANTED POSTERS FROM A HUNDRED YEARS AGO. THERE WAS ONCE A GROUP OF GIANT PIRATES WHO PILLAGED TOWN AFTER TOWN AND TERRIFIED THE ENTIRE WORLD..." In the background, the agents react around the table as the poster is examined. "NOT ONLY THAT, THE BOUNTIES PLACED ON THEIR HEADS HAVE NOT BEEN CALLED OFF EITHER... HOWEVER, THEY ARE STILL ALIVE...!" The man concludes with a grin, "IN SHORT, 200 MILLION BERRI FOR THE TWO OF THEM! PRESENTLY, EACH ONE OF THEIR HEADS IS WORTH 100 MILLION BELI...!"

The bespectacled man leans in. "IF WE WERE TO SUCCEED IN OUR MISSION AND BRING BACK 200 MILLION BELI ON TOP OF THAT, OUR PROMOTIONS ARE SURE TO BE GUARANTEED." Another agent exclaims, "...FINALLY, YOU GRASP THE GRAVITY OF OUR CURRENT CIRCUMSTANCES. 200 MILLION!I" The group stands around the table. One declares, "ALL YOU TWO NEED TO DO IS FOLLOW MY COMMANDS." Miss Valentine questions, "EXACTLY. AFTER ALL, WE WOULD STAND NO FIGHTING CHANCE WERE WE TO FACE THEM HEAD ON, YOU SEEI SO THAT'S WHY YOU PLACED THE BOMB IN THEIR RUM..." The man smirks and replies, "EVEN AN ENTIRE MOUNTAIN CAN BE LEVELLED DOWN TO THE GROUND, YOU KNOWI WITH A LITTLE SCHEMING."

A massive volcano erupts violently in the distance, sending smoke and debris skyward. Nami stares in shock, saying, "IT'S THAT SAME VOLCANO AGAIN...!" Luffy looks surprised, "HUH!I" On the shore, Dorry and Brogy prepare to clash. Dorry growls, "YOU'RE GOING TO FIGHTI BUT WHAT ABOUT THE INJURIES YOU JUST RECEIVED...I" Brogy laughs, "HA, THAT GOES FOR BOTH HIM AND ME! GABABABABA! IT'S THE SIGNAL FOR BATTLE! AIN'T TODAY QUITE EXCITING!" The volcano continues to rumble ominously as the two giants face each other.

The massive giant warrior Dorry bursts into thunderous laughter, his enormous mouth wide open as he bellows, "GABABABABA! MAKING SUCH EXCUSES IN A RELENTLESS FIGHT TO THE DEATH, WOULD ONLY TARNISH ONE'S HONOUR!" In the panels below, small figures desperately call out from the rocky terrain, "YOU HAVE TO STAY PUT! IF YOU DON'T, YOU COULD DIE!" and "MISTER, WAIT! DON'T GO!" as Dorry strides away from a dark cave entrance. A sharp sound effect "ドズッ" punctuates the moment. Dorry then plants himself firmly and declares with a cough, "HERE STANDS, THE WARRIOR DORRY, WHO VOWS TO GIVE A FIGHT... COUGH COUGH! WORTHY OF ELBAF'S HONOUR!"
