Chapter 265: Robin vs. Yama

Heavy rain pours over an ancient stone structure with a tiled roof. A hooded figure in a light cloak stands with hands clasped behind his head, two large swords strapped to his back, one boot resting on a stone ledge. Water drips from his hood and cloak. To the left, a small furry creature with long ears and a striped pack holds a large leaf umbrella while standing in a puddle, looking up at the hooded man. The chapter title 'ROBIN VS. YAMA' appears above the panel.

Nami rides a high-speed waver across the clouds, gripping the controls as motion lines streak behind her. A small winged creature shouts, 'MISS NAMI, THAT IS AMAZING!!' Nami exclaims, '...FANTASTIC!' Below, the creature continues, 'YES, THE JET DIAL ON THE WAVER HAS BEEN EXTINCT FOR CENTURIES! I WAS SURPRISED MYSELF.' Nami replies, 'THE SPEED OF THIS WAVER IS A BIT FASTER TOO...!!!' The creature adds, 'I LOVE THIS THING!' Nami answers, 'YES, THANK YOU!' In the next scene a small ship sails near a forested island as the creature says, '...IT SEEMS I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY RESTORED IT.' Nami responds, 'I WOULD NEVER HAVE GUESSED THAT YOUR BROKEN WAVER HAD SUCH A RARE THING!' On the ground near a burning forest edge, Nami states, 'I'M SURE THEY'LL GET THERE SAFELY.' The creature replies, '...HM, WE SHOULD GO TO THE BEACH WHERE WE WILL REGROUP.' Nami says, 'I WAS PLANNING ON TAKING EVERYONE TO THE BORDER OF SKYPIEA, BUT...' The creature finishes, 'NONETHELESS, WHAT SHALL WE DO NOWI'

A girl in a thick fur hat and coat shouts with tears, 'THERE ARE ONLY 2-MEMBER GROUPS, NOT 4. I'M SURE!' In the background a small fox-like animal labeled 'SUU' reacts with 'EHI' while a hooded figure and another person stand near a wooden railing. The girl in the fur hat continues, 'THERE ISN'T A 4-MEMBER GROUP ON THIS ISLAND! IF THOSE FOUR ARE TOGETHER, NO ONE CAN BEAT THEM.' She then cries out, 'I'M NOT CRYING, STUPID BLUE SEA WOMAN!' as Nami stands nearby. The girl adds, 'CR~~Y-BABY~~!' and 'STUPID!' while covering her face, saying '...THE SCARINESS OF... YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND HOW SCARY IT IS WHEN ALL THESE VOICES DISAPPEAR...' Nami asks, 'YOU ALSO HAVE THAT THING GOD AND HIS PRIESTS USE... THE MANTRA...I' The girl replies, 'I'VE BEEN ABLE TO USE IT EVER SINCE I WAS BORN!!' In the final panels the girl says, 'I DON'T KNOW, BUT... I CAN'T JUST SIT STILL!!' Nami asks, 'WHAT WERE YOU PLANNING ON DOING COMING HEREI' The girl answers, 'AND SKYFISHES WERE ATTACKING HER WHEN WE FOUND HER ON OUR WAY HERE... MISS AISA'S WAVER WAS BROKEN.'

Nami stands with a worried expression, sweat on her face, murmuring "...". Nearby on the deck, a strange round creature with wings clutches its head and cries out, "EVERYONE...... LAKI...". In a wide forest shot, the same voice calls desperately, "EVERYONE... ARE YOU SAFEI" as heavy rumbling SFX ゴゴオ.....ン and ドォォォン shake the trees. Deep in the ruined, scorched forest, Luffy sits on a broken stone, looking exhausted. He says, "I LEFT MY BACKPACK OUTSIDE AND... THESE TREES ARE ROTTEN, SO THERE ARE NO FRUITS...". Sweat drops fly as he groans, "AH... I CAN'T TAKE THIS... SAPU... SAPU..." with impact SFX カリカリ and ドキドキ around him.

Luffy continues talking to himself in the ruined forest, asking, "ARE THEY AT THE GOLDEN CITY ALREADYI" He recalls, "I HEARD FROM A BAR THAT GOLD BOILED VEGGIE IS A WORLD-CLASS CUISINE... IT MUST BE SO PRETTY--- EVERYTHING MADE OUT OF GOLD!" and laments, "BUT NOW, I'M LOST IN THIS STRANGE CAVE FOR NO REASON... AND I CAN'T FIND THE EXIT!!! I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO EATING MY BOXED LUNCH...". The scene shifts to Usopp in goggles, shouting "CHOH!!" angrily, "WILL YOU STOP FOLLOWING ME!!I". Usopp turns with a fierce glare, "CHOHI YOU A PIECE OF MEI HUH!I" as a large fish-like creature appears. Usopp warns, "UNDER-STOODI NOW, GO AWAY! EVEN IF I DID, I WOULDN'T GIVE ANY TO YOU!! LISTEN UP! I'VE ALREADY FINISHED MY BOXED LUNCH AND I DON'T HAVE ANY MORE FOOD!" with SFX CHOH and PUKI.

A close-up shows Enel's hand as he counts, "AFTER 3 HOURS, OUT OF THE 81 FIGHTERS I COUNTED... EXACTLY 5 WILL STILL BE STANDING." A framed note reads "Number of survivors: 25". Another panel states "One hour before God Enel's predicted time...". In the forest, a fierce-looking man with a headband growls, "I'LL TAKE CARE OF HIM....!!" while aiming a massive bazooka-like weapon. He spots someone and yells in shock, "THAT'S GOD ENEL!! WHY IS HE HERE!!I" as another figure reacts, "IMPOSSIBLE....!!" and a quiet voice says "...".

Yama charges forward on a slope, firing his massive weapon with a loud バキィ.... sound effect, smoke and debris flying. Enel sits calmly on his flying drum cloud, holding his staff, completely unfazed. Close-ups show Yama's shocked face dripping sweat, muttering "EH...I" with wide eyes, then gritting his teeth in rage with "!!!". Below, a framed note updates "24 remaining" as a large impact SFX!!! and motion lines burst across the forest canopy.

Massive explosions tear through the ancient ruins as debris flies everywhere. A loud MEEEH!!!! rings out amid the blasts. Nico Robin, hat on and face streaked with sweat, pants heavily while running, HAA... HAA... The massive winged form of Yama barrels after her, shouting WHERE ARE YOU GOING!I More blasts erupt with ドゴォーン!! and ゴゴォ...!!! sounds. Robin glances back in alarm,...!!! as Yama's enormous grinning face fills a panel, laughing amid the destruction. The ground shakes violently with further ドゴォーン!! and ドシャーン...!!! impacts, sending chunks of stone and ruined structures crashing down around them.

Yama's massive form looms in the ruined landscape as he questions, OF RUNNING AWAY...I, while sweat drips down his face. HAVE YOU HAD ENOUGH, he asks. Robin remains hidden from view. Yama spreads his wings and declares IT'S NO LONGER NECESSARY. A small distant figure stands far off in the rocky terrain. Yama repeats NO LONGER NECESSARYI with a firm stance, his wings fully extended as the ruins stretch behind him.

Nico Robin glares forward with intense eyes, declaring I WON'T FORGIVE YOU!! and NOW, EVEN IF YOU APOLOGIZE... Yama, lying on the ground, retorts TRUE, THE RUINS DON'T BELONG TO ANYONE, BUT... YOU REALLY WANT TO PROTECT THOSE RUINS... YOU FORGIVING ME...I THAT'S PREPOSTEROUS... Robin turns her back and walks away, saying FORGET IT... I DON'T WANT TO TALK TO YOU ANYMORE. Yama calls after her HUH...I DON'T WORRY... EVEN IF YOU WOULD WANT TO TALK, YOU WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO, BECAUSE... Robin's hat lies discarded on the grass nearby.

Yama launches a devastating aerial assault, shouting DROP MOUNTAIN!!!! and I WILL CRUSH YOU HERE!!! as he plummets downward with tremendous force. Nico Robin stands her ground and replies I WILL TEACH YOU THE SEVERITY OF DESTROYING HISTORY...!!!! She questions if that is all, comparing it to a charging bull. Robin activates her power with TREINTA FLEURS!!! Multiple arms sprout and grab Yama mid-air, twisting his body as he yells GAHHH!! and OH!I while the limbs restrain him completely.

Yama swings his massive axe in a powerful overhead strike, the blade tearing through the air with a thunderous ゴゴゴゴ impact. Robin is hurled backward, crying out "WAH!!!" as she tumbles through the air. Below, Yama plummets toward the ground with a loud "HANG"!!!. Robin lands and strains under the weight, muttering "HE IS HEAVY...!!!" while gripping something tightly. Her hands spark with electricity, "BIRI BIRI..." and "PACH...". Yama crashes into the earth with a massive GRRRRRR!!, his face twisted in pain as he growls "OUCH..." and "....!!" amid swirling dust and debris.

Yama roars "EAT THIS! '10-FOLD AXE'!!!" and brings his weapon down with a crushing ゴゴ impact. The axe strikes with repeated HAI! HAI! HAI! blows as he shouts "MEEEH!!!". Robin counters, her expression fierce. Yama's eyes bulge in shock "HUHI WHAT...I" as he realizes "Wait... THE DIALS ARE UPSIDE DOWN... WAIT!!! MY DIALS!!". Robin stands firm, arms crossed, responding with a calm "..." and "FWUP". The massive axe wielder screams in agony as his attack backfires.

The colossal axe crashes down with a deafening ドバババ impact, shattering stone and sending Yama flying backward. Robin stands tall amid the rubble, arms crossed, watching the destruction. Yama tumbles across the ground, his face contorted as he yells "MEEEH!!!". In the aftermath, Robin looks down with a serious expression. Yama lies defeated in the dirt, groaning, while Robin remains composed. Small reaction sounds like "*COUGH*" and "SAR..." punctuate the settling dust.

Robin stands over the fallen Yama, declaring "THE RUINS YOU DESTROYED ARE PRICELESS... EVEN THOUGH HISTORY IS ALWAYS BEING CREATED... MEN CANNOT RETURN TO THE PAST... DO YOU UNDERSTAND!!I". Yama begs from the ground "DO IT... AGAIN... FORGIVE ME... I... I UNDERSTAND. I WON'T". Robin's face hardens as she shouts "NO!!". Enraged, Yama lunges upward, grabbing her and roaring "WUHE HEHEH...!! I'LL KILL YOU!!" while she struggles. In a close-up, Yama sweats and growls "IN THAT CASE...!!!...!! GRR..." as the fight reignites.

Nico Robin stands before a massive, writhing plant-like beast whose enormous hands clutch at its own head in agony. The creature screams as its fingers snap and twist unnaturally. Robin remains composed, one hand raised. "MY FINGERS...!!!!" the beast howls. "AAAAAA AAAAAA AAAAAH!!!!!" A footnote notes that plants of the genus Delphinium contain extremely poisonous substances. Robin crosses her arms and declares her technique: "DELPHI NIUM"!!! and ""CIEN FLEURS*"!!!" as countless arms bloom from the ground and seize the monster's limbs.

The giant creature thrashes violently inside a stone structure, roaring "STOP IT!" as it is dragged away. A small figure tumbles from its back, crying "WHAT!II" and "HUHI" The beast is yanked through the air by countless sprouting arms while screaming "WAIT!! WHERE ARE YOU TAKING ME!I" and "AAAAA AAAAAA AAHHH!!!!" Below, its battered face appears, pleading "STOP...!!" Robin's voice answers coldly, "ENOUGH..." as the creature is slammed against a massive tree trunk.

Yama is hurled high into the stormy sky, limbs flailing. On the ground, his swollen face grimaces in pain: "UNGH...! IT HURTS..." Robin stands with eyes closed and states, "IT'S TOO LATE FOR APOLOGIES..." The monster crashes into a rocky cliff with a massive impact, "KABOOM!!!" Robin looks down from above and utters a single word: "CLUTCH."

Yama lies broken amid shattered trees and rubble. Robin appears in close-up, her hand covering one eye as she glares down with intense resolve. "THAT'S HOW BAD YOUR CRIME WAS...!!" she declares, the final judgment delivered.
