A World Abuzz

Two Marine ships sail away from the coast of Alabasta as a large crowd on the docks waves flags and cheers wildly. A sign reads THE SAND COUNTRY, THE KINGDOM OF ALABASTA. Speech bubbles capture the crowd: "WHERE ARE VIVI AND HER PARTY HEADEDI!" and "TAKE CARE!". Onlookers comment, "I GUESS HER PIRATING TENDENCIES HAVE AWOKEN AGAIN..." and "VIVI SURE LOOKED PRETTY EXASPERATED BACK THERE." and "AND JUST WHEN I THOUGHT SHE'D BECOME A PROPER PRINCESS...". A close panel shows cheering citizens shouting "PRINCESS VIVI!" and "YOUR MAJESTY!". On the deck of one ship, Hina stands with arms crossed as voices report: "PRINCE~SS!", "OUR ESTIMATED TIME OF ARRIVAL IS...", "MAKES IT SAFELY TO MARIEJOIS!", "I WILL ENSURE THE NEFELTARI FAMILY...", "WE'VE JUST DEPARTED ALABASTA.", and "YES... HINA HERE." The Marine ship HINA is visible with cannons.

Nefeltari Vivi stands on the ship's upper structure, arms outstretched, smiling as wind blows her hair and dress. Large text identifies her as PRINCESS OF THE KINGDOM OF ALABASTA NEFELTARI VIVI. Voices call out "PRINCE~SS!" repeatedly. Vivi says, "THE SALTY BREEZE FEELS SO WONDERFUL...". Crew members shout warnings from below: "GET DOWN FROM THERE AT ONCE!", "SSHH HHHH!", "YOU WORRY FAR TOO MUCH. THE PRINCESS HAS PLENTY OF EXPERIENCE BEING A PIR...", "OR IF YOU'RE IN A SNIPER'S SIGHTSI!", "OR IF A METEOR STRIKESI!", and "WHAT WILL YOU DO IF A MONSTROUS BIRD FLIES BY AND KIDNAPS YOUI!". A large close-up shows a panicked crew member yelling these concerns with sweat flying. A bird flies past with "COO~" sound effect.

King Nefertari Cobra of Alabasta sits in his ornate wheelchair, pipe in hand, addressing the World Government. An attendant urges, "IF YOU'RE NOT FEELING UP TO IT, SAY THE WORD. WE CAN HEAD BACK AT ANY TIME." Cobra replies, "NO... I'M FINE!" Another voice warns, "DO NOT OVER EXERT YOURSELF, YOUR MAJESTY." A third exclaims, "HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND, PELLI! THERE'S A MARINE OFFICER RIGHT THERE!" Cobra coughs heavily. He continues, "THERE'S BEEN SOMETHING I'VE WANTED TO ASK THE WORLD GOVERNMENT... EVER SINCE THE DAY I MET NICO ROBIN... MY DREAM... AFFORDS ME FAR TOO MANY ENEMIES." A tearful young woman with bangs watches him closely. Cobra declares firmly, "COME HELL OR HIGH WATER, I WILL SEE TO IT THAT I ATTEND THIS REVERIE!" A stern man asks, "YES. ABOUT THE PONEGLYPHS, I ASSUMEI"

Cobra's outburst echoes as someone shouts, "WHAT IN THE WORLD DID THE KING OF THE NEFERTARI CLAN DO TO THE WORLDI!" He reflects, "IF I GET THE CHANCE, I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN... ALL THOSE YEARS AGO..." The scene shifts to a grand hall where Cobra, still coughing, faces a smiling woman in an elegant gown. She says, "COME NOW, DON'T BE SUCH A WORRYWART." A man laughs, "WE'VE GOT PILES AND PILES OF SUITORS' PHOTOS IN THE PALACE!" Cobra admits, "I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH LONGER I HAVE LEFT... IF ONLY MY DAUGHTER WOULD CHOOSE ME A SON-IN-LAW..." The woman pleads, "FATHER! HOW ARE YOU FEELINGI" Cobra wheezes, "HMM... I'VE FELT BETTER." He dramatically cries, "AAAAAGGGHHH! YOU'LL BE THE DEATH OF ME, PRINCESS!" The woman retorts with a smile, "FUFUFU... YOU MAY AS WELL THROW 'EM ALL OUT. THERE YOU GO USING YOUR ILLNESS AS AN EXCUSE AGAIN! THAT'S NOT FAIR!"

In East Blue, Loguetown, Queen Sally Nantuckanet of the Goa Kingdom stands elegantly by a window overlooking the sea and the execution platform. A sign reads, "OUR HOTEL IS BUILT TO SERVE ONLY THOSE ROYALS..." She remarks, "CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR RECENT CORONATION, YOUR MAJESTY." A man replies, "WHAT DO YOU THINK, DEARI" She answers, "I'VE SEEN WORSE." Another voice notes, "ON THEIR WAY TO THE REVERIE, ONCE EVERY FOUR YEARS." Sally says, "PLEASE, MAKE YOURSELVES AT HOME." A man comments, "IT'S DEFINITELY NOTHING SPECIAL. ALL IT OFFERS IS A VIEW OF GOL D. ROGER'S GALLOWS." Sally turns and commands, "NOW BEGONE WITH YOU. TRASH BELONGS IN THE CAN." Two flustered men bow and reply, "YES, YES." One stammers, "W... WELL, I HOPE YOU CAN REST AWAY THE CARES OF YOUR TRAVELS, KING STELLY!"

Narration explains: "THE REASON MANY A COUNTRY ARE ABUZZ... IS BECAUSE OF THE MEETING THAT HAPPENS ONCE EVERY FOUR YEARS... AT THE CENTER OF THE WORLD, THE HOLY LAND MARIEJOIS..." A massive building is labeled "REVERIE!" with dramatic sound effects. Inside the grand hall, various kings and queens gather. One man states, "AND DISCUSS THE GOINGS-ON OF GLOBAL AFFAIRS." Another caption reads, "KINGS AND QUEENS FROM OVER 50 OF THE WORLD'S COUNTRIES GATHER..." A final box notes, "AT THIS CONFERENCE OF THE WORLD'S GREATEST AUTHORITIES, TOGETHER, THEY FORM A GUIDING PLAN FOR THE YEARS TO COME." Kings react with shock and excitement amid the bustling atmosphere of the Reverie.

Narration states: BETWEEN THE ECCENTRIC HEADS OF THE WORLD'S STATES IS OFTEN A TALL ORDER. BUT A PEACEFUL, PRODUCTIVE EXCHANGE... A scarred man with a long tongue and spiked hair declares, IT SEEMS THEY WILL NOT MAKE IT IN TIME FOR THE REVERIE! THERE ARE MANY THINGS I WISH FOR THEM TO SAY. In the next panel a voice announces, THE WAR IS OVER! DON CHINJAO... OR, WELL, SAI HAS YET TO RETURN. WEST BLUE, KANO COUNTRY. A large chaotic gathering erupts with shouts: HOW SHALL WE BRING THEM DOWNI! SAKURA KINGDOMI! STUPID DOLTON! MAAA AHAHA HAHA! SOUTH BLUE, EVIL BLACK DRUM KINGDOM. The assembled kings and representatives gesture wildly amid castle backdrops and banners.

A grinning long-haired man insists, LIKE I SAID, I'M GOING TO BE THE SHIP'S DOCTOR FOR THE VOYAGE! YOU SHOULD BE JUMPING FOR JOY! Another snaps back, DON'T GIVE ME THAT EXASPERATED LOOK!! WHAA-AAATI! SAKURA KINGDOM. GRAND LINE. A cheerful blonde girl beams, SURE! THANK YOU, VIOLA! I BET YOU'RE EXCITED! A dark-haired woman in a striped robe smiles, HOW ABOUT AS MY LADY-IN-WAITINGI CAN I GOI! THE COUNTRY OF PASSION, DRESSROSA. A furious king roars, AND WHAT'S WRONG WITH THATI! EVERYONE IS ACTING LIKE WE'RE OFF ON SOME SORT OF VACATION... LET'S GO TOGETHER! TO THE HOLY LAND! I REFUSED THE KING ESCORT RIKU! PROVIDENCE KINGDOM. THIS IS FOR ALL INTENTS AND PURPOSES A FESTIVAL!

King Neptune bellows, THE PETITION FOR THE RE-LOCATION OF THE ISLAND ANYWAY! MANBO! YEAH! WE'VE GOT PLENTY OF SIGNATURES FOR... MANBOSHI. WE ARE UNTRUSTING OF THE HUMANS! THIS IS QUITE THE PICKLE... KING OF RYUGU, NEPTUNE. Shirahoshi cries, I'M SORRY, I JUST CAN'T! I'M SCARED! LUFFY PROMISED ME! PRINCESS OF THE RYUGU KINGDOM, PRINCESS SHIRAHOSHI. Fukaboshi demands, SHIRAHOSHI! WHAT DID YOU GAIN FROM THE STRAW HATSI Ryuboshi shouts, FATHER! WHY DON'T WE LET SHIRAHOSHI SIT THIS ONE OUT-MINDOI! The brothers argue while sea creatures and soldiers watch. A voice insists, OF COURSE! LUFFY COULD PROBABLY TAKE YOU MUCH FURTHER THAN THAT! YET OUR DESTINATION THIS TIME AROUND IS MERELY STRAIGHT UP! ALL WE NEED TO DO IS FLOAT!

A ship sails across the waves as a box reads, ELSEWHERE, LUFFY'S PARTY. A voice calls, A LITTLE... TO STARBOARD... OKAY... On deck Luffy yells, HEY, HEY, HEY! LIL... MORE. AH. THAT GOODI A massive crash follows. Carrot lies sprawled, THANK YOU FOR THAT... I'VE NEVER BEEN MORE GLAD TO BE ALIVE... ALSO, I WILL REMEMBER THIS, LUFFY... THOUGHT IT'D BE FREEFALL FROM THE TOP OF ZOU! QUIET, YOU! EVERYONE'S STILL ON THE MEND BECAUSE A CERTAIN SOMEONE... PUT YOUR BACKS INTO IT! I WANNA SEE SOME ENTHUSIASM! WE'RE GONNA SINK AT THIS RATE! Luffy and the others tumble in a heap with impact lines and debris flying. A furry figure groans nearby.

Luffy grins and points excitedly at Carrot, shouting, "SEE! BE MORE LIKE HER! SHE'S SUPER CHEERY!" Someone else yells, "LEAVE IT TO ME! OKEY-DOKEY!" Nami sighs in the background, noting they have drifted slightly off course. Luffy suddenly reacts in shock, "WHA-I!" as Carrot stands proudly on deck in her Musketeer outfit, declaring, "WAAAH! WE REALLY ARE FLOATING ON THE WATER! WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT..." A heavy-looking ship like this could actually floatI! Luffy demands, "WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING HEREI!" Carrot beams as large text labels her "MINK TRIBE MUSKETEER SQUAD MEMBER CARROT". The lion-faced mink stares in horror and roars, "CARROT! YOU...! WHYI!" Carrot turns with wide eyes, gasping, "CARROTI!"

Carrot leaps onto Luffy's back in a flying tackle, yelling "GARCHU-LULULU~!" with hearts while Luffy screams "GYAH!" and flails. She clings tightly, announcing, "I TAGGED ALONG!" Carrot pleads with the lion mink, "DON'T SEND ME BACK! WANDA'S GONNA YELL AT ME!" while hugging Chopper and Nami, who react with "HUG" sounds and "GYAH!" cries. Carrot explains she brought provisions including a carrot bento, carrot juice, a snack, a carrot, and a change of clothes so she won't be a burden. She begs, "PLEASE! I'LL DO ANYTHING! JUST LET ME GO WITH YOU! I JUST REALLY, REALLY WANTED TO GO OUT TO SEA ON AN ADVENTURE! JUST ONCE!" The lion mink warns, "ARE YOU TRYING TO CAUSE TROUBLE FOR OUR SAVIORS, CARROTI! WE'RE GOING TO BE INFILTRATING A YONKOU'S STRONGHOLD! THIS IS NO GAME."

The crew stares in disbelief at the massive shape of Zunesha in the distance, reacting with "WHAAATI! IT'S GOING TO TAKE SEVERAL DAYSI!" and "IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE FOR SOMETHING TO BE SO BIGI!" Carrot stands on the railing with sparkling eyes, exclaiming, "THIS IS GOING TO BE MY FIRST OFFICIAL SLEEPOVER! A WONDER-LAND!!! THE SEA TRULY IS..." Luffy suddenly lunges, shouting "WHO SAID YOU COULD EAT MY CARROTI!" as Carrot dodges with "GYAAAAAH!" Carrot reassures him, "YES! THANK YOU! I'LL BE FI- YOU CAN TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF, RIGHTI" Luffy grumbles, "EH, IT'S FINE IF SHE COMES ALONG. I MEAN, SHE'S ALREADY HERE AND ALL."

Luffy pats Carrot on the head while she blushes and giggles, "EHEHEHE!" with hearts around her. He yells, "LUFFY! PAT HER ON THE HEAD! MY TH-THROAT-" in confusion. Pedro questions when he got all the way up there. Carrot offers, "OKAY, I GUESS YOU CAN HAVE MY CARROT." Luffy lies on the deck gasping, "GLAH! THAT WAS A CLOSE ONE! SHE ALMOST GOT ME!" Nami watches from the side. Carrot then cheers, "WOO-HOO!" as the ship sails on, with Luffy complaining he's starving and someone calling for a feast to be prepared.

A bird-like News Coo tumbles through the air with a sack labeled "NEWS PAPER" as characters react to fresh reports. "COOOOO!" it cries. "WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, WAIT! THAT'LL BE 5000 BERRYS EACH OF YOU," someone demands while a winged figure hovers nearby. "SO WHAT'RE WE GOING TO DO, THENI" another asks. "THAT'S ALMOST ALL MY ALLOWANCE!" a voice complains. Narration states, "A LAND THAT WAS, FOR SEVERAL THOUSAND YEARS, SHROUDED IN SECRECY" "HAS FINALLY BEEN DISCOVERED." An afro-haired woman declares, "I'LL MAKE THE FOOD!" A straw-hatted figure reacts in shock: "WHAAAAAI!" An elderly swordsman reads a massive headline and mutters, "THIS SURE IS A HUGE TITLE..." In a dramatic close-up, a long-haired reader with a cigar holds up the newspaper, eyes wide. "BALTIGO, ALREADY IN RUINS!" the front page blares. "THE HEADQUARTERS OF THE REVOLUTIONARY ARMY!" A massive sound effect and narration proclaim, "THE WORLD, SHAKEN TO ITS CORE!" The page ends with the One Piece logo and "CH. 823 / END."
