The Operation Begins

In a snowy, ruined landscape, a skeleton-like figure in a tattered coat and top hat stands dramatically as voices discuss recent events. "JUST WHAT WE NEEDED, ANOTHER SETBACK... THAT SAMURAI HAD BETTER BE ALL RIGHT..." someone says. Another voice adds, "LOOKS LIKE I MUST'VE HIT MY HEAD ON THE WAY DOWN..." and "YES, THE SAME MUST HAVE HAPPENED TO ME... MY HEAD HURTS AWFULLY...". The skeleton recalls, "BUT I'LL NEVER FORGET THE OTHERWORLDLY SIGHT OF THOSE SHADOWS IN THE SNOW...". A woman with pigtails exclaims, "SUCH A PITY THAT WE NEVER FOUND IT IN THE END...". A man replies, "I SEEM TO REMEMBER THAT WAS A UNANIMOUS DECISION!!" while another notes, "SAYS THE GUY WHO TOOK US OFF ON A MASSIVE DETOUR." The skeleton snaps, "DON'T MAKE IT SOUND ALL ROMANTIC. YOU WERE SHOUTING ABOUT IT BEING AN ENEMY ATTACK! I WAS NEVER!" A blonde man reflects, "WELL, I HAVE LIVED AND DIED MORE THAN MY SHARE OF YEARS!" as the group debates mysteries and romance.

One hour ago, the skeleton shouts, "OH, MY...I! COME OVER HERE, YOU TWO!!! I THINK YOU NEED TO LOOK AT THIS!!!" while calling "SAMURAI!!" and "WHERE THE HECK ARE YOUI!" Large footprints appear in the snow. The blonde man says, "OH, COME ON, DON'T BE SO...". The group stares in shock at massive tracks. "COULD THESE BE THE FOOTPRINTS OF THE LEGENDARY ABOMINABLE SNOWMANI!" someone wonders. The skeleton declares, "ROMANCE AND ADVENTURE AWAIT...!!!" with dramatic flair. The woman exclaims, "WHOAH!!!...IS THIS FOR REALI! MYSTERY FOOTPRINTS IN THE SNOWI!" as the skeleton notes, "THEY'RE REMARKABLY BIG, WOULDN'T YOU AGREEI! IT'S QUITE UNBELIEVABLE!! AND THEY'RE RECENT, AS WELL!!!" A voice adds, "IF WE FOLLOW WHERE THEY LEAD...!!!" with sound effect "ゴクリ...!!!" and large footprints marked "ばーん!!".

The group reaches a dead end in the snow with sound effects "ヒュルルル..." and "ヒュルル...". "HMI A DEAD ENDI!" someone notes. Suddenly, "JAKIN!!! JAKIN!!!" echoes as the skeleton warns, "AHHHHHH!!! LOOK -- BEHIND US!! GIANT SHADOWS IN THE SNOW!!" and "THE LEGENDARY -- COULD THEY... COULD THEY REALLY BE...I!". A figure mutters, "...THURRENLY MY TUMGG FEERRS ALL HEABBY...!! AN' I'M SO... SLEEPY..." while another gasps, "...UGH.....I WH...WHAT IS THIS... SOME KIND OF GASI!" The skeleton wonders, "C...COULD THIS BE AN ENEMY ATTACKI!" as a voice slurs, "IT'TH LIKE I'M REARRY DRUNK OR SOMETHINN...". A massive explosion erupts with "ズババババババババ!!!" and screams of "AAA GHHH HHH!!!" and "!!I" as figures are blasted by gas.

Soldiers in gas masks fire shells from the cliff edge. "THEIR FATE IS SEALED...!!!" one declares. "A BED OF ICICLES WITH NO HOPE OF ESCAPE!!!" another adds. "AND DOWN BELOW THIS CLIFF... AWAITS AREA F-16," a third states. "NO MATTER HOW HARDY A STOMACH FOR ALCOHOL A MAN MAY HAVE, ONE SNIFF FROM THESE KYP GAS SHELLS... AND HE'LL BE HOPELESSLY DRUNK AND FRIGHTFULLY TIRED...!!!" The shells detonate below. In the icy cavern, two figures slump unconscious with "ZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZ". "OI, YOU TWO!!" a soldier shouts. A figure plummets toward the spikes: "A... A BED OF SPIKESI!" Impact follows with "AAAH AHHH HHH!!!" and a massive crash as the victim screams "HAAAA AHHHHH HHHH!!!" while gasping "*PANT* THAT WAS... CLOSE..."

Marines report from the frozen wasteland: "WE'VE FOUND THE THREE DEAD STRAW HAT PIRATES, JUST AS INSTRUCTED. PROCEEDING TO RECOVER THE BODIES!! THIS IS AREA F-16." A blonde woman with a ponytail rises from the snow, glaring. "WHAT THE-I! THIS ONE'S STILL ALIVE!!" a soldier yells. "STILL ALIVE, A LONE WOMAN AGAINST THIS MANY-" She snaps, "WHO'RE YOU CALLING DEAD...I" and attacks with a powerful strike, sending enemies flying amid "GUE HHHH HH!!!" and impact effects.

Nami smokes calmly amid the snow and wreckage. "THIS IS NAMI'S DELICATE BODY, AFTER ALL... CAN'T HAVE IT GETTING BRUISED AND BATTERED....I NEED TO BE MORE CAREFUL..." she thinks. Kin'emon the samurai stands nearby. "MY APOLOGIES, NAMI-SAN... NOW, THEN..." he says. Elsewhere, Kin'emon reports, "INDEED. I LOST SIGHT OF THE 'TORSO PERSON' BEFORE NEARING THE LAKE... AT ANY RATE, THE TIME FOR IDLE DREAMING IS OVER!! ARE WE GETTING CLOSE YETI! IS THIS WHERE THE SAMURAI SHOULD BEI!" Nami replies, "SO THIS SHOULD BE THE AREA TO WHICH I DIRECTED THE SAMURAI." Two figures lie defeated as voices shout "AAAG HHHHH HHH!!! WAKE UP, YOU TWO MORONS!!!"

Kin'emon searches the snowy ground. "YOU DON'T THINK HE ALREADY WENT OFF TO LOOK FOR HIS SON...I" Nami asks. "MR. SAMURAI-SAAAN!! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU, SAMURAII! ARE YOU ALL RIGHTI!" she calls. Kin'emon spots movement: "EHI!" A frozen figure lies ahead. "AHHHHH!! THIS IS HIM RIGHT HERE!!" Kin'emon exclaims. The frozen man coughs violently: "*COUGH*... *COUGH*... NGOOHH!!! HRRNGGLLH RHH...!!!" Nami rushes over. "GET A HANG OF YOURSELF THERE!! ARE YOU ALL RIGHTI! DID SOMEBODY ATTACK YOUI!" she demands as the scene shifts to a dark vertical panel.

Brook stands atop a massive ice formation in the blizzard, his skeletal form trembling as he admits, "STRANGELY ENOUGH... I FEAR I WAS ABOUT TO STOP MOVING FOREVER..." Nearby, a woman in a dark coat with a fur collar confronts the frozen samurai Kin'emon, shouting, "YOU MEAN YOU ALMOST FROZE TO DEATH IN THIS BLIZZARD, DON'T YOUI!" Kin'emon, half-buried in ice with his sword visible, pants heavily, "PANT... AHH... AHHHH...!!" In the lower panels, Kin'emon explains his predicament: "I NO LONGER POSSESS THE CAPABILITY TO SWIM BENEATH THE..." and "...I HAVE A CONFESSION TO MAKE. THE ARCANE POWER THAT I POSSESS HAS ALSO IMBUED ME WITH A WEAKNESS." The woman retorts, "YEAH, YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T SWIM!!!" while others note, "THIS GUY REALLY IS A WARRIOR DOES NOT FEEL THE STING OF COLD..." and "WHY THE HELL ARE YOU SO STUBBORNI!" A close-up reveals Kin'emon's face emerging from water, eyes wide in shock as he realizes, "SUBMERGED IN WATERI!!" and "I CAN FEEL THE SENSATION OF WATER SURROUNDING MY TORSO..." The narration continues, "THE PROBLEM IS... IT WOULD APPEAR THAT MY UPPER BODY... IS CURRENTLY SUBMERGED IN A BODY OF WATER...!!"

Brook points out, "SPEAKING OF WATER, BROOK... THERE'S A LAKE NEARBY, RIGHTI HIS BODY COULD HAVE FALLEN INTO THERE...!!" The woman replies, "...I GET IT. THAT'S WHY YOU CAN'T MOVE, AND YOU KEeled OVER IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS BLIZZARD... AND WITH YOUR BODY UNDERWATER, YOU CAN'T USE YOUR ABILITY EITHER..." Sanji stands with arms crossed, agreeing with the theory. Kin'emon's submerged form is visible in the background as the group debates retrieval. The woman warns, "...BUT SURELY THERE IS NO WAY TO RETRIEVE MY BODY... OTHER THAN DIVING INTO THE WATER...!!" Sanji urges, "YEAH, YEAH, WE GET IT, YOU'RE A WORTHLESS HAMMER!!" and "INDEED! LET US HURRY!!" while noting sharks may be involved. In a close-up, the woman declares, "THIS IS MY WAY OF TAKING RESPONSIBILITY...!! BUT IN RETURN... ONCE YOU DO GET YOUR WHOLE BODY TOGETHER, YOU'D BETTER BE READY FOR A DUEL!! 'CAUSE I'M GOING TO BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF YOU!!" Kin'emon roars back, "BUT... YOU ARE PIRATES... WHY WOULD YOU GO SO FAR... FOR A MERE STRANGER SUCH AS MYSELF...!!I"

The woman stands over the thawing Kin'emon, who mutters, "OH, YOU FINALLY LEARNED HOW TO SHOW A LITTLE GRATITUDEI I GUESS FREEZING A GUY HALF TO DEATH CAN WORK WONDERS." Kin'emon responds, "A... AS YOU WISH...!! I AM IN YOUR DEBT!!!" with motion lines indicating his recovery. In the distance, figures observe, "IT WOULD APPEAR TO BE BROWNBEARD'S CENTAUR CRONIES..." and "...FROM WHOM WE APPROPRIATED OUR WINTER CLOTHING!!" A massive creature emerges from the lake with a loud "わあああああああああ!!!" as the group reacts in alarm. Sanji notes, "THERE'S A FEARSOME MONSTER ON THE OPPOSITE SHORE!!" while the woman and others shout warnings: "HANG IN THERE!!! YOU'VE GOTTA KEEP RUNNING!!" and "GET AWAY FROM THAT LAKE!!!" The centaur-like beings yell, "YOU'RE PRETTY MONSTROUS YOURSELVES, YOU KNOW..." as chaos erupts near the water.

The woman, Brook, and Sanji watch as armed centaurs charge across the snow, shouting, "HOW DARE THEY DO THAT TO OUR BOSS!!" and "LIGHHH... THAT'S MY COAT RIGHT THERE!!!" while others cry, "GAAHHHH!! NOT THESE GUYS!! IT'S THOSE DIRTY THIEVES FROM THE LAKE!!" Brook questions, "WHAT'S GOING ON HERE...I" Sanji suggests, "FORGET ABOUT THEM, JUST KEEP RUNNING!! WE HAVE TO GET BACK TO THE LAB!!!" In the next panel, Brook exclaims, "HUHI TH... THAT'S EXACTLY RIGHT!! HOW MIRACULOUS!! YOU GOT IT RIGHT, ZORO-SAN!!" while aiming a scope toward the mountains and asking, "BUT... EXACTLY WHAT IS YOUR POINTI" Sanji wonders, "HMMMMMI OI, BROOK... LOOK OVER THE WAY THEY JUST CAME FROM. THAT'S THE WAY TO THE LAKE, RIGHTI" A massive black mountain looms ahead with swirling snow and dramatic sound effects, prompting the woman to note, "...... A MOUNTAIN OVER THERE BEFORE..." as the group stares in surprise with "!!I" and large impact effects filling the scene.

Caesar Clown's face fills the panel with a manic grin as he declares the truth behind the creature. OF COURSE I DIDN'T!!!" He explains that the waste was compressed into a fearsome monster. "ONCE, THIS ENTIRE ISLAND WAS A WORLD OF DEATH, COVERED IN A MIASMA THAT WOULD ALLOW NONE TO SURVIVE... PEOPLE ARE QUICK TO FORGET SUCH TRAGEDIES... BUT THAT TERROR HAS NOT SIMPLY VANISHED!! IT REMAINS ON THIS ISLAND, UNDER MY CONTROL!!" The final panel shows the massive, dark, swirling form of the slime monster looming over the destroyed facility as Caesar beams, "AND THIS WAS THE RESULT...!!"

The stolen ship crashes violently into the dock at Caesar's research facility main entrance. Crew members shout, "WE'VE TAKEN THE BOAT!!" and "STOP THAT BOAT!!" as water sprays everywhere. Inside, Smoker is blasted backward by an explosion while Tashigi yells, "YOU'RE IN THE WAY!! JUST STAY WHERE YOU ARE AND DON'T MOVE, TASHIGI!!!" Smoker cries out in pain, "S-SMOKER-SAN, HOW DO I CHANGE BACKI! AAAH HHHHH HHHH!!" Tashigi clutches her head in frustration, thinking, "I'D BE ABLE TO INFILTRATE A PLACE LIKE THIS WITH NO TROUBLE AT ALL... WORTHLESS, THE LOT OF YOU... IF ONLY I HAD MY OWN BODY..." Nearby marines struggle with the door, yelling, "WE'RE NOT GOING TO ACHIEVE ANYTHING DITHERING ABOUT OUTSIDE!! OUR ENEMY IS INSIDE THE FACILITY! IS THAT DOOR STILL NOT OPEN YETI! THE DOOR WON'T BUDGE AN INCH, SMOKER-SAN!!!"

Explosions rock the rear entrance of Caesar's research facility as Law's crew attempts entry. A round hatch labeled "TROOT" is blasted open with "BAH!!" and "DODODO!!" sounds. Law, in his signature hat and coat, speaks with a small furry ally: "BUT IF YOU CAN GET CLOSE TO THIS 'MASTER' GUY SO EASILY... WHY DON'T YOU JUST CAPTURE YOURSELFI YOU'RE PRETTY STRONG, RIGHTI" The ally replies, "I'LL DO WHAT I CAN TO LURE THEM OUT OF THE ROOM. ONCE THEY'RE GONE, YOU CAN SEE WHAT YOU CAN FIND OUT ABOUT THE DRUG." Law responds, "THAT'S A PRETTY USEFUL ABILITY YOU'VE GOT, HUH! DID YOU TELEPORT JUST NOWI! BE QUIET AND GET BACK IN THE BAG. WE'RE RIGHT OUTSIDE THE FACILITY. I SUSPECT CAESAR WILL BE IN THE MAIN LABORATORY, ALONG WITH ONE WOMAN." The ally protests, "AT ANY RATE, ALL I NEED YOUR AND YOUR FRIENDS TO DO IS ABDUCT CAESAR. I'LL TAKE CARE OF THE REST." Law counters, "SORRY, BUT THERE'S A REASON WHY I CAN'T DO THAT. THAT'S WHY I'M RELYING ON YOUR CREW TO HELP..."

A massive object hurtles through the air above the facility. Someone yells, "HEY!! LOOK UP THERE!!!" as a crew member reacts, "WAIT, THAT'S NOT... HMI" Another shouts, "SOMETHING'S FLYING THIS WAY!! IT MUST BE A GIANT BOMB!!" The object strikes with a thunderous "KIIIIIIIN!!" and "DOOON!!!" impact, shattering structures. "WING!!" is visible as debris flies. A figure with large wings emerges from the smoke. Panicked voices cry out, "H... HUHHI! PEOPLEI!" "AAH" "UGH HHHH!! DARN IT!!!" and "...IT'S A HUMAN!I" The winged figure lands with a soft "TAP..." amid the chaos while marines and crew react in shock.

Luffy, bound in massive black-and-white striped restraints, thrashes wildly with arms raised high, laughing triumphantly. "I'M GONNA BEAT YOU UP AND KIDNAP YOU!!!" he roars.
