Aboard the Thousand Sunny at sea, the crew enjoys takoyaki. Luffy shouts with delight, "RIGHT!I HACCHIN'S TAKOYAKI ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD, RIGHT!I" while devouring pieces. Nearby voices exclaim "I'VE NEVER HAD TAKOYAKI BEFORE! THEY'RE DELICIOUS-!!!", "HAFU HOFU HOFU OFU!!!", "HAVING A FOOD STALL IS GREAT, HUHI", "THEY REALLY ARE TASTY... THIS SAUCE IS ESPECIALLY COMPLEX.", and "I CAN'T STOP MYSELF!! THESE TAKOYAKI ARE JUST TOO GOOD!!!" Franky laughs loudly as he serves more, declaring "NYUUU-!! EVERYTHING'S FREE FOR YOU GUYS TODAY!! THIS IS THANKS FOR YOU COMING TO HELP US!!" The ship sails under cloudy skies with sound effects like "GOOOOOD!!!", "うおおおおお", "SOOOO OOOO", and "ジュワァァァ!!" as the crew eats heartily.

Nami questions the taste while Luffy panics, "NO, NO!! OF COURSE NOT!! I DIDN'T MEAN THAT!! I JUST WANTED TO KNOW IF YOU LIKED THE TASTE...!! REALLY!!!" She replies thoughtfully, "... NAMI...I" Franky beams, "IT'S REALLY DELICIOUS!!" while Nami smiles and says "KISU" after tasting. The crew gathers around the takoyaki stall on the ship deck marked "TAKO 8 YAKI". Questions fly: "HEY, OCTOPUS GUY, HOW DO YOU MAKE THIS SAUCEI", "HEY, MERMAID, CAN WE GET SOME MORE OVER HERE!I", and "YEAH!! YOU KEEP ON MAKING THEM, AND WE'LL KEEP ON EATING THEM!!!" Franky answers, "NYUUU-!I THIS SAUCE RECIPE IS A SECRET PASSED DOWN FROM A LEGENDARY TAKOYAKI STAND FROM AGES PAST..."

On the Sunny's deck, Robin sits eating while Franky and another man drink. A voice wonders, "DOESN'T IT SOUND LIKE THOSE VOICES FROM BEFOREI" and "... WHO'S THATI" Suddenly a loud cry rings out: "HEEEEEEY!! YOU GUYS!!!" and "YOUNG MASTER!!!" From the sea, a distant ship approaches as someone yells, "YOU CAN'T LEAVE WITHOUT A PROPER GOODBYE!!!" and "WAIT UP!!!" A close-up reveals a shocked face with wide eyes and sweat drops exclaiming "IT'S DUVAL!!!" while the person stammers, "IT'S HANDSOME....!!! AH!! NO, THAT'S NOT RIGHT!!!" with large impact effects "ドキューーン" and "アハハハ" filling the panel.

On the deck of the Thousand Sunny, Luffy happily devours a massive meal while Sanji stands nearby. A transformed man with a new face identical to Sanji’s dramatically declares, "...I CHANGED HIS BONE STRUCTURE. HE HAS NO REASON TO COMPLAIN ANYMORE!!" Sanji mutters, "SO GOOD, SO GOOD." The man continues, "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU MADE ME THIS HANDSOME!! I WAS AWE-STRUCK BY MY OWN FACE." He adds, "WHEN WE WOKE UP, WE WERE ALL SURPRISED!! AFTER YOU KICKED ME IN THE FACE, OH, MAN!! YOUNG MASTER BLACK LEG!!" Laughing wildly, he proclaims, "NOW THE GIRLS WON'T LEAVE ME ALONE. MY LIFE IS ALL COMING UP ROSES NOW!! AHAHAHAHAHA!" Luffy, still eating, reacts with shock. In a close-up, the transformed man sweats and begs, "JUST LET ME KNOW... YOU HAVEN'T BEEN AROUND HERE BEFORE, RIGHT!I IF THERE'S ANY WAY I CAN BE OF USE, MY CONSCIENCE WOULDN'T REST!!! BUT I CAN'T GO WITHOUT REPAYING MY DEBT TO YOU. I WANT TO RETURN TO MY LAID BACK COUNTRY LIFE." Luffy yells back with a full mouth.

The transformed man desperately shouts, "BOSS!! BOSS!! YOU NEED TO LISTEN WHEN PEOPLE ARE TALKING. MAYBE A WHITE HORSE WOULD BE NICE." Sanji glares and snaps, "ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING!I IF I HAD TO ASK, IT WOULD BE FOR YOU TO NEVER SHOW YOURSELF TO US AGAIN... IF YOU'RE SATISFIED, THEN THAT'S FINE." Nami looks on with a neutral expression. The man admires himself in a mirror, asking, "AAH... MIRROR, MIRROR, AM I THE MOST HANDSOME MAN IN THE WORLDI" Sanji retorts, "I DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING EVEN CLOSE TO THAT!!! I'M HANDSOMEI I SEE... EHI" The man insists, "JUST WHAT KIND OF HAPPY DELUSIONS ARE YOU HAVING!I I DIDN'T BLOW A KISS!!! I WAS JUST WIPING MY MOUTH!!! THAT KISS YOU JUST BLEW, THAT'S A LITTLE AWKWARD, BUT I ACCEPT." He dramatically poses while the Sunny floats in the background.

Luffy angrily grabs the transformed man by the collar and yells, "STOP IT, USOPP!! YOU CAN'T MATCH THAT PERSONALITY!!!" The man replies, "NOT AT ALL!!!...JEALOUSYI I GET THAT YOU'RE HANDSOME, BUT YOU'RE STILL AN IDIOT, SO THAT'S NO BETTER." Onlookers watch from the side. The man then apologizes profusely, "I'M SORRY FOR CAUSING YOU TROUBLE!!! SORRY FOR THAT FIGHT, TOO!!!" He hands over a card, shouting, "WELL THEN, YOUNG MASTERS!! HERE'S MY DEN DEN MUSHI NUMBER. CALL ME ANYTIME. I PROMISE I'LL HELP YOU!!!" In a dramatic splash panel, the man rides away on a massive sea creature as the Rosy Life Riders cheer, "YES, HANDSOME!!! LET'S GO!!! ROSE-COLORED LIFE RIDERS!!!" while Luffy watches from the Sunny.

Luffy lies back with a huge grin, declaring, "I'M SO HAPPY!! I ATE AND I ATE. BUHAAAAA, WHAT A FEAST!!" The transformed man, now revealed as Duval, vomits violently and screams, "GEEEEE EEEPU! THAT'S DISGUSTING!!! EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!!!" He explains, "EXCUSE ME FOR A MOMENT. IT CERTAINLY WAS A PLEASANT AFTERNOON, MASTER. I HAD MY FIRST TAKOYAKI, SO I'M QUITE SATISFIED." Nearby, Usopp, Chopper, and Franky lie stuffed and exhausted on the floor. Nami, wearing a patterned top, smiles and says, "UFUFU, GOOD WORK, HACCHIN! EVERYONE LOOKS STUFFED!" while massaging a large octopus-like creature. Duval adds, "NYUUU... THEN, I'M SATISFIED, TOO. I CAN'T EAT ANOTHER BITE."

On the deck of the Thousand Sunny, a voice calls out, "YOU CAN HAVE TEA UP HERE." Another adds, "IF YOU'RE TAKING A BREAK, COME UP TO THE DECK." "AND CAMIE-CHUAAAAAN." "HEY, OCTO-GUY, STARFISH." Pappug reacts with surprise, "NYUU!I REALLYI" The ship sails onward across the sea. "THIS IS THE COURSE WE SHOULD TAKE," states a crew member. "THIS IS GOOD TEA..." "NYUU-..." Below deck, the crew gathers around a table with Camie the mermaid and Pappug the starfish. Camie explains, "BUT YOU HUMANS WOULD DIE FROM THE WATER PRESSURE IF YOU TRIED TO DIVE DOWN THERE. WE MERMAIDS AND FISHMEN CAN JUST DIVE UNDERWATER AND GO THERE DIRECTLY. WE CAN'T GO TO THE FISHMAN ISLAND WITHOUT GOING THERE FIRSTI WE'RE HEADING FOR THE 'SHABONDY ARCHIPELAGO,' RIGHTI" Franky replies, "YEAH, EVEN A SUBMARINE COULDN'T MAKE IT..."

Luffy questions the route, "BUT FOR OUTLAWS LIKE YOU, THERE'S ONLY ONE! WHYI" Pappug insists, "FIRST!! THERE ARE ACTUALLY TWO ROUTES ONE CAN TAKE TO GET TO THE 'NEW WORLD.'" He continues excitedly, "SO YOU NEED TO LEARN A THING OR TWO ABOUT THESE SEAS... AND WHO WILL TEACH YOUI ME, OF COURSE!!!" Sanji reacts skeptically nearby. Pappug warns, "THERE'S NO WAY A PIRATE WOULD BE ABLE TO GET THROUGH THAT WAY!!" He explains the path, "AND CROSS THE RED LINE, PASSING THROUGH THE TOWN AT THE VERY SUMMIT, THE 'HOLY LAND, MARIEJOA.' BECAUSE!! THE FIRST WAY IS TO MAKE A REQUEST TO THE WORLD GOVERNMENT." Luffy shouts in shock, "IT TAKES MONEY AND TIME FOR THE APPLICATION, BUT IT'S SAFE, SO THAT'S THE NORMAL WAY. Pappug continues explaining the dangers, "HUHI CAMIE, CAMIEI I DIDN'T PASS OFF TO YOU. BUT THE OCEAN FLOOR ROUTE IS REALLY DANGEROUS! YOU'LL PASS THROUGH THE 'FISHMAN ISLAND' ON THE 'OCEAN FLOOR ROUTE'!!! BUT FOR YOU GUYS, YOU'LL TAKE YOUR SHIP WITH YOU." Camie reacts, "EH!I" Inside, the crew discusses further. "WHAT KIND OF SHIP CAN YOU TAKE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN!I" "... HOLD ON, CAMIE. YOU JUST SAID... 'THE WHOLE SHIP,' RIGHTI" "ME NEITHER." "I... DON'T THINK I WANT TO GO TO THE FISHMAN ISLAND... CAMIEI" Franky declares, "WELL, FROM OUR POINT OF VIEW, IT'S A BIG HOLE THOUGH!!" Camie points out, "NO, NO THAT'S FINE! IN THE 'RED LINE,' THE HUGE WALL THAT CIRCLES THE GLOBE, THERE'S A SINGLE PLACE WHERE A TINY HOLE OPENS UP... THIS SHIP CAN'T DIVE OR ANYTHING. THIS SHIP CAN."

The crew reacts in shock as the Thousand Sunny approaches a massive sight. "THAT'S THE SHABONDY ARCHIPELAGO!!!" A huge sound effect erupts. Camie exclaims, "WHAT DO YOU MEAN, THIS WOULD BE THE SKY ISLAND 10 KM UP!I... WASN'T THE SKY ISLAND 10 KM UP!I IF YOU DUG, IT WOULD BE DUG, IT WOULD BE 10 KM STRAIGHT DOWN!! IT'S A NICE PLACE. IT'S DIRECTLY UNDER THE HOLY LAND, MARIEJOA." Luffy stares in awe, "OH!" Pappug announces, "COATINGI LOOK UP FRONT, WE'RE HERE! YOU CAN GET YOUR SHIP COATED AT THE ISLAND WE'RE GOING TO!!" The crew gazes at the enormous Yarukiman Mangrove trees rising from the sea, covered in bubbles. A sign reads "Grand Line: Shabondy Archipelago." Nami smiles, "IT'S LIKE A DREAM." Chopper shouts, "OHHH!!" Usopp reacts, "WOW... BEAUTIFUL." Zoro notes, "SOMETHING'S FLYING AROUND. WHAT'S THATI" Brook adds, "AHI LOOK AT THAT!!" Luffy wonders, "... ARE... ARE THOSE SOAP BUBBLES*!!!I"

Luffy stares upward in shock at the rising bubbles. "IS THE ISLAND MAKING THOSE BUBBLES!I" he yells. "THEY JUST KEEP FLOATING ON UP... ONE AFTER ANOTHER." "WHAT THE HECK IS THAT!I" "IS SOMEONE BLOWING THEMI" A woman with dark hair interjects calmly, "LET ME INTERJECT FOR A MOMENT." The others react with confusion: "... AH." "... WHATI" "WHAT DO YOU MEANI" "YUP, THEY COME UP FROM THE ISLAND." The group stands on the deck as the explanation continues. "THE SHABONDY ARCHIPELAGO IS JUST A BUNCH OF TREES, SO THERE'S NO MAGNETIC FIELD." "NYUU!! DON'T WORRY ABOUT THAT." "WON'T THE LOG BE OVERWRITTEN AT THIS ISLAND!I" "AH, THAT'S RIGHT, THE LOG NEEDLE IS POINTING TO THE FISHMAN ISLAND NOW." "IS THE LOG POSE ALL RIGHTI" Someone exclaims, "THAT'S NOT AN ISLAND!I"

Sanji and Franky discuss the trees. Usopp reacts excitedly, "A TOTALLY READY-TO-GO GROVE*!I" The view reveals the massive Yarukiman Mangrove grove rising from the sea with bubbles everywhere. "IN THIS CASE, THE ROOTS ARE SHOWING ABOVE THE OCEAN SURFACE!! THE SHABONDY ARCHIPELAGO" "IT LOOKS LIKE IT HAS A LOT OF ENERGY!! ME, TOO!!!" "IS A GROVE OF THE WORLD'S BIGGEST MANGROVE!! THE 'YARUKIMAN MANGROVE.'" The crew approaches on the ship. "LET'S GET A LITTLE CLOSER IN." "GROVE 44, IN THE FRONT, IS THE CIVILIAN ENTRANCE." A map shows the layout: "THERE ARE A TOTAL OF 79 TREES, AND EACH ONE HAS TOWNS AND OTHER FACILITIES BUILT ON IT." "THOSE 79 ISLANDS ARE CALLED THE 'SHABONDY ARCHIPELAGO.'" "THOSE HEADED FOR THE 'NEW WORLD' ALL GATHER HERE." "UP CLOSE, THESE ROOTS ARE REALLY HUGE."

The Straw Hats gaze at the enormous striped mangrove trees rising high above the water, covered in bubbles. "THE TREES ARE GIGANTIC, TOO! THEY'RE STRIPED!! THEY LOOK LIKE CANDY!!!" Luffy shouts. Nami directs the crew, "OKAY, WE'LL DOCK THE SHIP HERE, AT GROVE 41." "MAKE SURE YOU REMEMBER THAT NUMBER, EVERYONE!!" The islands are connected by bridges. "THE ISLANDS ARE ALL CONNECTED WITH BRIDGES, SO AS LONG AS YOU REMEMBER THAT NUMBER, YOU WON'T GET LOST." The Thousand Sunny docks near the massive roots labeled "41 GR." Small panels show bubbles popping on the ground: "POWAN..." "PUKU..." A tiny character asks, "WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME FOR!I" while another replies, "YUP. SOMEONE'S STILL GONNA GET LOST." "MOKO..."

Luffy points excitedly as a giant bubble rises from the ground. "HOW DOES THAT WORKI" "UWAAH, A SOAP BUBBLE CAME OUT OF THE GROUND!!" Nami stands nearby with the others. The bubble is sticky resin from the mangrove roots. "... EW, IT'S STICKY." "FROM THE ROOTS OF THE YARUKIMAN MANGROVE." "A UNIQUE KIND OF RESIN IS SECRETED" "DON'T WIPE IT ON ME!!" Luffy jumps into a bubble, exclaiming, "WAAAH! THAT'S COOL!!" "I CAN GET IN!!" The crew watches in amazement. "THAT'S SO COOL." "I SEE, THEN THIS STUFF IS ALL NATURAL." "THE RESIN IS INFLATED WITH AIR AND FLOATS UP." "WHEN THE TREES' ROOTS 'BREATHE,'" Bubbles form everywhere around the ship as Luffy runs and leaps among them. "AMAZING, LUFFY!" Sound effects fill the scene: "POYON!" "POYON!" "POYON!"

Nami smiles brightly in the foreground. "A FERRIS WHEEL, HUH...I I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO RIDE ONE." Behind her, Camie and Pappug stare upward at the massive Yarukiman Mangrove and its floating amusement park bubbles. "THAT'S SHABONDY PARK." "AN AMUSEMENT PARKI" "HEY, I CAN SEE AN AMUSEMENT PARK! LET'S GO!! WE CAN RIDE THE FERRIS WHEEL!!" Hachi reacts with surprise. "HACHI!! WHAT DID WE COME TO THIS ISLAND FORI SOMETHING ABOUT COATING WAS MENTIONED EARLIER..." Camie adds, "I WANT TO RIDE IT, TOO, BUT AM I ALLOWED TO...I" Pappug agrees, "YEAH... I KNOW." Nami snaps, "DON'T BE RIDICULOUS!! "SIMPLY PUT, THAT'LL LET YOUR SHIP TRAVEL UNDERWATER." "NYUU-!! WE'LL GO MEET THE GUY WHO DOES THE COATING AND HE'LL COVER YOUR SHIP WITH RESIN." Nami gasps, "EEHH!I REALLY!I"

Hachi continues explaining. "YOU KNOW... YOU SEEM LIKE A GOOD GUY, OCTOPUS." "THEN THE SHIP AND THE CREW COULD BOTH END UP LOST." "I KNOW A GUY WHO I TRUST... SO I'LL TAKE YOU TO HIM."
