Groggy Ring

In the upper panel, Sanji and Usopp stand side by side as narration boxes detail the eliminated pirate hunter Roronoa Zoro with a 60 million bounty and the violent chef Sanji who took out the interference group with one kick. Usopp remarks, "IT'S '5-STAR CHEF'." Below, the massive fish-man Big Pan looms over the field while Foxy's crew reacts. One voice shouts, "HUHI" Another laughs, "FUFUFU! HE DIDN'T HEAR IT!" A small figure asks, "WHAT ARE THEY DOINGI" Big Pan wonders aloud, "RIGHT, BIG BANGI SINCE THE CAPTAIN SPECIFICALLY APPOINTED US TO THE GAME... I THOUGHT OUR OPPONENT WOULD BE TOUGHER THAN THIS."

Big Pan holds up a ball and asks the Straw Hats, "DO YOU WANT TO BALL FIRST OR CHOOSE THE RINGI" Chopper reminds everyone, "MAY I REMIND YOU THAT THE BALL SEAL MARKS THE TWO BALLS IN THE GAME!!" The Groggy Monsters declare they choose to ball first. The rules are explained: smash the balls into bits, and hitting the opponent's life buoy wins. In the lower panels Sanji yells at Usopp, "WOW, SANJI!! YOU LOOK SO HANDSOME WITH THAT THING..." Usopp snaps back, "SHUT UP! YOU DECIDED IT BY YOURSELF! I NEVER SAID I WANTED TO BE THE BALL!" Zoro tells the ball guy to stand there while Usopp complains about the lame thing on his head.

Luffy shouts orders from the stands: "ZORO--- SANJI--- GO KICK THEIR ASS!!!" while the crew reacts to the fish-giant. A spectator notes, "IT'S THE FIRST TIME I SEE A FISH-GIANT. HE IS A BIT SMALLER THAN A PURE GIANT, THOUGH." Foxy laughs, "FUEHEHEH. THERE IS NO POINT IN CHEERING FOR THE LOSERS." Below, the crowd argues the rules. One man yells, "FOOL! YOU CAN DISRUPT ANY GAME!! THERE ARE TEAMS THAT WILL WIN REGARDLESS OF THE METHOD." Another retorts, "YOU CAN INTERFERE IN THIS GAME, TOOI!" Luffy sits back saying, "I'LL JUST SIT HERE AND ENJOY THE SHOW." A voice adds, "HAH! THEY WON'T NEED ANY SUPPORT TO WIN THIS."

Nami glares at the arguing crew. "THEY HAVE NO TEAM SPIRIT!" Sanji snaps back, "BY THE WAY, WHAT'S WITH YOUR TEAMI" A voice retorts, "THEN YOU SIMPLY DON'T HAVE THE GUTS AND PRIDE OF A TRUE PIRATE!!!" Another sneers, "THOUGH IT DOESN'T MATTER WHY YOU LOST. IF YOU COMPLAIN AND WHINE, IT MAY LOOK THAT WAY, BUT AS SOON AS THE GAME STARTS, THEY..." Someone mutters, "LOOK WHO'S TALKING." The referee-like figure yells, "ARE YOU DONE YETI DECIDE ALREADY!!!" The massive opponent growls while the others bicker, "SHUT THE HELL UP. I'M TALKING ABOUT ROCK PAPER SCISSORS!" "I'M JUST STRONGER IN EVERYTHING. I WON FAIR AND SQUARE!" "IMPOSSIBLE!" "YOU CAME OUT SLOWER, CHEATER!!!" They can't decide on anything. SFX: *PUFUFU* and *COLLAPSE*. The crowd erupts as the game begins. "START THE GAME ALREADY!!!" Luffy shouts with excitement while the Groggy Monsters loom. "YUP. YOU LOOK LIKE THE PRINCE..." "LIKE I WAS SAYING, THERE IS NO BETTER MAN TO BE THE BALL IN OUR GROUP!!!" Sanji is praised, "SANJI--- YOU LOOK SO AWESOME WITH THAT HAT."

Zoro crosses his arms and declares, "NOT LIKE IT MATTERS AT ALL." The opponent warns, "HEY, YOU!!! IT'S AGAINST THE RULES TO USE WEAPONS. PUT THEM AWAY!" Zoro replies, "FINE. NO WEAPON." The crowd reacts, "EHI REALLYI" The massive creature lunges, "STOP MESSING AROUND! DON'T MAKE ME GO OUT THERE!!!" SFX: *GOCHIN!! (SMASH)* and *OOOYAAAAH!!!* Sanji faces off, "BETTER THAN YOU, SANDBAG." "YEAHI ARE YOU SURE YOU'LL BE ALRIGHTI A SWORDSMAN WITHOUT A SWORD IS..." The announcer declares, "THE BALL OF TEAM STRAW HAT IS FINALLY IN POSITION." "THE PREPARATIONS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED." A voice calls out, "HEY, CHEF, LET US STOMP YOU FLAT, OKAYI" SFX: *DOHN!!!* and *YEEAAH---*

The audience cheers wildly. "MAKE HAM-BURGERS OUT OF THEM, HAMBOG!!!" "PICKLE, SEND THEM FLYING!!" "SMASH THEM, BIG BANG!!" "THE CHEER FROM THE AUDIENCE INTENSIFIES!!!" The Groggy Monsters laugh, "PUFUFUFUF, HE DIDN'T HEAR AGAIN!" One growls, "HUHI" Another declares, "BIG BANG, LET'S FINISH THIS IN LIGHTNING SPEED." The captain laughs, "HEHE-HEHEH... HEH... HEHEH" while the monsters taunt, "HIHIHI, YOU'RE REALLY..." "LISTEN UP, HIHIHI" "HIHI-HIHI!" The narration states, "THE GROGGY MONSTERS ARE LAUGHING FOR NO APPARENT REASON AGAIN." "THE CAPTAIN IS ALSO HIHIHI!!!" SFX: *PUFUFUFUFUF* and *HAHAHA!*

The rules are explained: "...INTO THE RING ON THE OTHER SIDE, I WIN." "I LOSE IF THE CHEF'S HEAD FALLS INTO MY BUOY." "I SEE. SO IF I THROW THAT BIG GUY..." "NO TIME LIMIT. ONE POINT WINS THE GAME!!" "THEY WILL WIN, AGAIN, WITH THIS CHEERFUL ATTITUDE." The crowd roars, "THE INTENSE GROGGY RING IS STARTING RIGHT NOW!!!" "OR WILL THE STRAW HAT CREW KEEP LOSING CREWSI" "...WILL THE REINDEER LOST IN THE FIRST ROUNDI!" "WILL THEY BE ABLE TO WIN BACK..." "YAHA, SMASH THEM!!" Close-ups show determined faces of Zoro, Sanji, Luffy, and the monsters. SFX: *WAAAAAH---* The signal blares, "BEGIN -----!!!!" "READY -----!!!"

Pickle the Tackle Demon charges forward as a massive striped ball, roaring toward the Straw Hats. A narrator declares, "DEALING THE FIRST HIT IS PICKLE, THE TACKLE DEMON!!" Pickle yells, "COME! I'LL TAKE YOU DOWN!!" while another voice taunts, "DIE ----!!!" and questions, "WILL THE BALL, SANJI, ATTACK FURIOUSLY, OR RUN AWAY IN FEARI WE SHALL SEEI" Sanji leaps aside with a sharp kick, shouting, "OUT OF MY WAY." The ball-man counters with a spinning "SLING TACKLE!!!" that sends debris flying amid a loud "GU DON." In the lower panels the two ball-men rush head-to-head as Hamburg bellows, "WE WIN IF I HIT YOU INTO THE BUOY RING, RIGHTI!" while Pickle snarls, "I'M AIMING FOR YOU!!"

Big Pan towers in close-up, his spotted fishman body glistening as he grunts, "COLLAR..." A sudden impact sends him reeling with a loud "SLIP!!" and "WUAH" as Sanji's kick connects. The chef slides helplessly across the slick surface while Big Pan's massive arm swings past. An onlooker shouts, "MOVE ON BIG BANG'S ARM!" Another warns, "SANJI, THE CHEF, IS UNABLE TO MOVE ON BIG BANG'S ARM! BUT THAT CAN'T BE HELPED..." A close view shows Sanji's shocked face as he realizes, "THIS GUY'S SKIN IS SO SLIPPERY!!!" while a teammate gasps, "W... WHAT THE HELL..."

Big Pan looms over the field, his slippery skin causing Sanji to slip again. A narrator explains, "BIG BANG IS A FISH GIANT WITH MUDFISH GENES, SO HIS SKIN IS EXTREMELY SLIPPERY!!" Sanji curses, "WHAT IDIOT ARE YOU DOING, DAMN IT... WUAH ---!" while Hamburg laughs, "HIHIHI!" and taunts, "WHO ARE YOU CALLING AN IDIOT, ASSHOLEI!" A rapid sequence shows the ball-men executing a "SPEEDY -----!!!" maneuver. Hamburg then launches a powerful "PUNK PASS!!!" that sends the ball flying across the ring as a teammate cheers, "GOOD HIT! IT'S BIG BANG'S ULTRA-LONG PASS!!"

Zoro sprints across the field as narration states, "ZORO IS ALSO RUNNING TO CATCH IT." Hamburg positions himself to receive the ball. Pickle suddenly strikes with a devastating "SWIPE TACKLE!!!" that eliminates Zoro, who cries, "WUAH!!" A voice yells, "PICKLE SNEAKED IN AND ELIMINATED ZORO!!!" Sanji is grabbed mid-air by Hamburg while another panel shows Pickle threatening, "IF YOU FALL IN, I'LL DICE YOU INTO BITS AND FEED YOU TO THE DOGS!" Sanji retorts, "SHUT UP! IT'S YOUR FAULT THAT I WASN'T LOOKING!!" Narration concludes, "ON THE OTHER HAND, HAMBOG CATCHES SANJI IN THE AIR..." as Pickle declares, "PICKLE NOW TAKES THE CHANCE TO GO FURTHER INTO ENEMY RING."

Pickle launches a powerful Gorilla Throw, sending a figure flying through the air amid wild laughter. "PUFUFU!! GORILLA THROW!!!" "HAHAH!!" "PICKLE IS ALREADY IN POSITION!!" Hambog barrels forward on a massive spinning wheel, grinning wildly. Zoro refuses to give up and attacks Pickle, shouting "STOP RIGHT THERE, FAT BEAN!!!" Hambog counters with a spinning tackle. "HIHI!!" "SPINNING TACKLE -----!!!" The impact sends shockwaves and debris flying as Zoro is struck. "AH!"

The spinning ball sends Sanji flying like a lost kite after being struck by Pickle. "...AND FLIES OFF AGAIN LIKE A LOST KITE!!!" "THE FALLING BALL, SANJI, GETS HIT BY PICKLE..." "WHAT THEI" "AIYAH!!" Big Bang rushes forward from the back court. "...BIG BANG RUSHES FORWARD..." "FROM THE BACK COURT..." "WAH ----" "WUAH ----" "NO, SANJI!!!" The ground-shattering rebound launches the falling Hambog back into the sky. "GROUND-SHATTERING REBOUND!!!" "...AND BOUNCES THE FALLING HAMBOG BACK UP INTO THE SKY!!!"

In mid-air, Hambog catches Sanji once again. "IN MID-AIR, HAMBOG CATCHES SANJI ONCE AGAIN." "WAIT... WAIT..." "HE IS WITHIN SHOOTING DISTANCE!" Hambog prepares the shot. "PUFUFU" "WUAH..." The crowd erupts as Hambog slams the ball. "NO-----!!!" "SCORE! HAMBOG, SLAM-DUNK!!!" "YEAH!!" "HIHIHI!!!" A furious curly-eyebrow man yells, "YOU CURLY-EYEBROW DUMBASS!!!" "DAMN IT..."

The chaotic scramble continues with frantic shouts. "HEY... HEY..." "YOU'RE LOSING! ZORO!! SANJI!!!" "HMI WHAT ARE YOU DOINGII" "COULD THE GAME END SO SOONI" "MIND YOUR OWN BUSI-NESS!" Hambog grabs wildly. "GRAB" Sanji is sent flying high into the empty sky. "WUIAAAAAAAH!!" Hambog spins desperately below. "I WILL NOT......LET THEM SCORE!!!"

A massive impact sends a round, striped figure flying as Foxy recoils in shock. "EAT THIS, YOU PIECE OF SHIT ---!!" someone yells. Foxy tumbles through the air, stars spinning around his head. "!!! I STILL HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING!!!" he protests. A close-up shows his determined glare. "IT'S NOT RIGHT TO END SO SOON... HEH..." he mutters with a sly grin. Nearby, a long-nosed fighter with a bandana reacts in alarm. "BUT AT LEAST, I'M NOT LOSING TO HIM!!!" the long-nosed man shouts. A huge explosion erupts as the striped figure crashes down. "THAT SEAWEED HEAD STOLE MY SNAPSHOT MOMENT...!!!" Foxy roars furiously. "GI--N!!" another voice cries amid the debris and impact lines. "ドカン!!!" the blast echoes across the arena.

The Groggy Monsters' massive ball is struck with tremendous force. "ポコォン!!!" rings out as the impact sends figures flying. "FOR ALL THAT RIDES ON IT, THEY CANNOT LOSE!!" the narration declares. The ball hurtles through the air but misses the goal. "IT DIDN'T GO IN!!!" a voice exclaims. On the ground, the long-nosed fighter and a suited man stand facing the striped monster. "THIS IS THE FIRST TIME SOMEONE DEFENDS AGAINST THE GROGGY MONSTERS' ATTACK! THE GAME IS HEATING UP---!!!" the caption reads. "YOU WERE THE ONE BEING TOSSED AROUND I DON'T NEED YOU!!" the suited man snaps. "THE BALL, SANJI, DIDN'T GO IN LIKE HE SHOULD!!!" another shouts in frustration. The striped fighter looms angrily as the crowd reacts with shock.
