The Six Faces of Vegapunk

Punk Records towers over Lab Stratum-Egghead, the island of the future. Narration boxes read 'THE WAY I SEE IT, WHEN IT COMES TO A GOVERNMENT ISLAND...' and 'YOU GOTTA THINK ABOUT WHO'S GONNA BE AROUND TO BAIL 'EM OUT IF THEY GET CAUGHT.' 'THE REASON THEY STAYED ON THE SHIPI' A kneeling figure with long dark hair says 'I KNOW OUR DEAL WAS TO DROP ME OFF ANYWHERE FROM WANO, BUT... I DIDN'T THINK WE'D BE HEADIN' FOR A GOVERNMENT ISLAND...' An afro-haired figure replies 'HANG ON, JUST GIMME A MOMENT OF YOUR TIME!' 'YOU'RE STILL HEREI' 'EXCUSE ME, SIRS!' 'WOULD YOU CARE FOR SOME TEAI' 'YOHOHO! I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING.' The scene shifts to the massive 'VEGAPUNK LAB' entrance where a voice shouts 'WOAH!!' Inside, a blond man says 'APPRECIATE IT. SEE YA AROUND.' 'I HEARD YOU HELPED MY CAPTAIN OUT.' A horned figure growls '.....!!! I'LL REMEMBER THIS!! THESE JERKS!!'

Inside the moving lab, a short-haired woman with headphones smiles and says 'YOU COULD SAY THE WHOLE ISLAND RUNS ON FIRE.' A blond woman exclaims 'WHAT KINDA SETUP IS THISI!' 'HOW'S IT POWEREDI!' A man in goggles yells 'NEW STEPS ARE SPROUTING OUT OF THE GROUND!!' 'THE STAIRS ARE MOVING!!!' with SFX 'ギャアアア'. A cloaked figure muses 'IF ONLY THERE WAS SUCH A THING AS AN ETERNAL FLAME...' Machinery panels discuss energy conversion. 'DOESN'T THAT BURN THROUGH A LOAD OF NATURAL RESOURCESI' 'AFTER ALL, YOU CAN CONVERT ITS POWER INTO ANY KIND OF ENERGY.' 'I'M ALWAYS LOOKING INTO ALTERNATIVE FUELS.' A figure shouts 'LILITH!! LILITH!!' as a small robot slides down a chute. 'WHAT THEI! SHE'S GOIN' RIGHT THROUGH THE WALLI!' 'SLIDE' 'A SUNI!' 'THEN I'D BE ABLE TO MAKE MY VERY OWN SUN!!!'

At the main gate of the lab, a spiky-haired figure peeks out in surprise. "HMI! SLIDE" A voice calls from inside, "STOP DILLY-DALLYING AND WALK THROUGH! YOU SHOULD NEVER LET YOUR OWN SENSES DUPE YOU!" Another shouts, "HEY! OPEN UP!!" while a heart-marked balloon cries, "LILITH-CHAAAN!" Inside the corridor, a woman in a bodysuit stands before the sealed gate as someone asks, "WHAT IS IT, EDISONI" Further ahead, the group reacts in shock. "WHERE DID LILITH-CHAN GET TOI!" "SO THIS IS THE LAB...I" "NO WAYI! IT'S TURNED BACK INTO SOLID METAL AGAIN!" "WE PASSED THROUGH TOO...I" A long-haired woman in a leather jacket glares as a voice with a heavy Kansai accent declares, "HOWDY. NOW JUST KEEP WALKIN' LIKE I SAID. AH'M VEGAPUNK EDISON!" The others stare in confusion. "Y'ALL CAN KEEP GOIN' DEAD AHEAD!" "WHO'S THATI"

A massive man in a white robe blocks the path, roaring, "OUT WITH IT, WHO THE HECK ARE YOUI!" The group stares in shock. "HEY! WHAT'RE YOU DOIN' HEREI!" A small robot-like figure is sent flying with a "FUTURE KICK!!" and a loud "GUWAH!!" The long-haired woman and the spiky-haired man react with surprise. "THAT'S A WEIRD FANTASY..." "HMM, LIKE A FLOWER MADE ENTIRELY OUT OF EXQUISITE ANTIQUE GEMS! LET'S LOOK FOR SOME FUTURE TREASURE!" They reach a massive door labeled "SERAPHIM 04" at 093%. A small, winged, fish-man-like creature emerges. "JINBEI!" "NAH, I'M GOING WITH OPTION THREE. IT'S A COINCIDENCE!!" "DOESN'T HE LOOK A LITTLE TOO YOUNGI" "WELL, MY FIRST GUESS WOULD BE HE'S HIS SON..." "HE'S A PACIFISTA!!" "I'VE GOT A BAD FEELIN'... THERE'S A FOURTH POSSIBILITY!!"

A massive explosion erupts with "BOOM" and "UWAAA!!" as several figures are blasted into the air. The spiky-haired man screams, "WE SHOULD'VE KNOWN THE GOVERNMENT WAS NEVER GONNA ROLL OUT THE RED CARPET! THIS WAS ALL ONE GIANT TRAP!" The creature spins wildly with "SPIN SPIN" while others are sent flying. "GYAA!!" Nami grips her weapon, sweat flying. "I REALLY DON'T WANT TO FIGHT HIM!" "BUT HE'S STILL A KID..." "DOES THAT MEAN... THEY'RE USING A CLONE OF JINBE AS A SOLDIERI"

The Seraphim charges forward with a powerful "BEEP!! BEEP!!" and a massive "WHIP" attack. Nami is struck and sent flying. "!I" "HEY... I KNOW THAT ABILITY!!" "WHAT'S GOING ONI!" "HE'S GOT FRUIT POWERSI!" "HUHI!" The creature slams into the ground with a splash, roaring as Nami cries out in terror. "JINBE..." "K'YAAA!!" "NAMIII!!" The Seraphim looms over her with glowing eyes and a fierce expression amid the chaos of water and debris.

A furious close-up shows a dark figure glaring with wide eyes as they declare, "I DON'T GIVE A CRAP..." and "THAT'S IT, YOU JUST SIGNED YOUR OWN DEATH WARRANT!!" The scene erupts into a massive impact as a curly-haired fighter in a patterned shirt delivers a powerful kick, sending shockwaves and debris flying with a huge "BAM!!" The opponent is slammed back amid swirling smoke and motion lines. Below, Nico Robin crouches with arms crossed, summoning her powers as she shouts "GIGANTE FLEUR!!" while a massive hand blooms from the ground, clenching dramatically in the final panel amid more explosive impact effects.

Nico Robin continues her assault, creating a massive watery serpent as narration notes "SEA SERPENT..." while she yells "THAT WAS UNFORGIVABLE!!" and "WHAT HE SAID!!" In the next sequence she spins into a high kick labeled "SNAP-DRAGON SPANK!!" that sends a splash of water and a small figure flying with "SPLASH!!" A fishman-like fighter with a fierce expression appears, questioning "SO, YOU CAN USE FISHMAN KARATE TOOI" while another voice urgently calls "GET OUT OF THERE, ROBIN!!" amid chaotic water effects and motion lines.

Explosions rock the battlefield as a fighter in a dark outfit unleashes "...EXPLODING GRASS!!" followed by a skull-shaped blast and the cry "LETHAL GREEN STAR!!" A small horned creature-like figure screams "WAAH!!" while being grabbed with "CLUTCH!!" Nearby, a figure in a cap and boots labeled "SSG" reacts with "HMI HE'S GONE..." and mutters "I KNOW THIS ISN'T JINBE, BUT THIS STILL FEELS MESSED UP!!" Usopp appears in the lower panels, shouting "I'VE GOT THIS, SANJI! USOPP, DON'T MOVE A MUSCLE!" and "RADICAL..." as another character yells "USOPP!!" amid flying debris and impact effects.

A massive mechanical head fires a laser with "BEAM!!" while a panicked voice warns "WATCH IT, S-SHARK!" The Seraphim S-Shark recoils with "!!" as observers react: "HE JUST USED A BEAM!!" and "WHO IN TARNATION IS THIS GUYI!" Inside a high-tech lab filled with screens and small robots, Dr. Vegapunk Edison appears in the foreground, exclaiming "HOOWEE!! THE SEPHARIM'S STILL JUST A KID! WE AIN'T MEANT TO PUT IT THROUGH A LASER TEST TILL LATER!!" Another voice adds "AH! RECKON THIS IS GETTIN' REAL RISKY!" as the large text "Dr.VEGAPUNK EDISON" displays at the bottom.

Inside a high-tech lab filled with monitors and machinery, a small round-headed Vegapunk with a lightbulb helmet shouts, "OH!! EUREKA! AH'VE JUST THOUGHT UP A NEW INVENTION!" Nearby, another Vegapunk with goggles and a large body labeled PUNK 04 exclaims, "DON'T'CHA THINK THAT'S A BIT TOO EVILI!" while a wild-haired figure is blasted backward. A close-up shows a female Vegapunk labeled PUNK 02 yelling excitedly, "YOU SAID IT!" The large PUNK 04 Vegapunk, identified as Pythagoras, declares, "OF COURSE! AH'LL LEAVE THE REST TO YOU, PYTHAGORAS!" and "AH HAFTA JOT DOWN THE BLUEPRINTS RIGHT AWAY!" A tiny black cat-like creature adds, "MY HANDS ARE ALWAYS SO FULL!!" and "MEOW!" while a small flying robot buzzes nearby. The narration labels the scene with "Dr. VEGAPUNK" and "WISDOM PYTHAGORAS" as the group reacts with frantic energy to the new idea.

York lounges on a cushion eating voraciously with "MUNCH MUNCH" and "DELICIOUS~" while a small robot labeled PUNK 03 stands nearby. A Vegapunk labeled PUNK 06 with pigtails and a bow says, "SURE THIIING." York declares, "YORK, BE A DOLL AND EAT SOMETHIN' FOR ME! THE IDEAS WON'T STOP FLOWIN'!!!" Elsewhere, a Vegapunk in a helmet panics, "AAAH! I REALLY NEED THE TOILET! I'D GO MYSELF, BUT I CAN'T AFFORD TO WASTE ANY TIME!" Shaka analyzes data, noting, "THE SERAPHIM'S ATTACK PATTERNS HAVE CONTINUED TO EVOLVE AS IT GROWS! THAT SUGGESTS THAT ONE'S LINEAGE FACTOR REALLY DOES STORE SOME OF OUR RECOLLECTIONS AND CAPABILITIES!" York later appears with a blissful expression, "GRIN...♥" as another figure heads toward a door labeled "TOILET" with "FLUSSHH!" and "AAA-AHH~" sounds.

Multiple Vegapunks react in a chaotic lab. One with a helmet yells "EUREKA!!" as another complains about a scoundrel. Shaka stands tall in a black coat labeled VEGAPUNK 01, stating, "I'M DR. VEGAPUNK... SHAKA." A female Vegapunk labeled PUNK 06 (York) lounges sleepily with "zzz..." and "MHHMM~" while saying, "THAT HIT THE SPOT!" and "SO SLEEPY...♥" A voice notes, "DR. YORK'S ON TODAY'S 4TH 9 P.M. CYCLE (SNACK-DUMP-NAP)!!" Other Vegapunks including Edison and Lilith discuss the Straw Hat Pirates and magnetic shoes. Shaka warns, "YOU MUST BE THE STRAW HAT PIRATESI" as the group debates resistance and the island's futuristic appearance. A large title reads "Dr. VEGAPUNK YORK" and "Dr. VEGA PUNK SHAKA" with "LOGIC".

Luffy, wide-eyed and excited, shouts "WOAH!!" while holding a weapon as Chopper and Nami react nearby. Vegapunks discuss ancient technology: "THAT LONG AGO, THERE WAS ONCE A HIGHLY ADVANCED KINGDOM..." and "A CIVILIZATION FROM 900 YEARS AGO... WOULD YOU BELIEVE MEI" Luffy exclaims, "IT'S REAL METAL, NOT ANOTHER HOLO-HOLO THING!!" and "CHECK IT OUT, CHOPPER!!" Franky and others marvel at the futuristic island with mecha sea beasts. A massive impact panel shows debris and a horned figure as narration states, "...NOT UNLIKE EGGHEAD WHEN IT COMES TO TECHNOLOGY." Shaka appears in close-up with "HUHI!" while another figure says, "THIS IS AN ISLAND OF THE PAST...!! IT'S ACTUALLY QUITE THE CONTRARY." The page ends with the chapter number "...CH. 1065 /END".
