A Hero's Offensive

A small figure rockets through the sky at high speed. "WOOSH!!" The landscape below rushes past as the projectile heads straight toward its target. "KUMA'S DESTINATIONI!" The chapter title appears: CHAPTER 1071: A HERO'S OFFENSIVE. Bartholomew Kuma's face is shown in close-up, stern and focused. He crashes down with massive force, "ダオオオ" and "ギッシ!!!" erupting as the impact sends debris flying. The landing site is labeled "RED PORT - THE BASE OF THE RED LINE" with "WORLD GOV'T" visible on the structure. Civilians react in panic below: "UWAH!!" "KYAH!!" "AKA-BAM!!!"

Panic spreads among the crowd. "WHERE DID HE COME FROMI! WHATI!" "IT'S BARTHOLOMEW KUMA!!" Marines and civilians stare in shock. "HE'S MEANT TO BE THE CELESTIAL DRAGONS' INVINCIBLE SLAVE... RIGHTI!" "I HEARD HE FLED THE HOLY LAND...!!!" "WHAT'S HE DOING HEREI" Kuma smashes through buildings and scaffolding in a rampage. "IT'S A FORMER WARLORD OF THE SEA..." "KYAH!!" "UWAH! IT MOVED!!" "SECTION OFF THE NORTH EAST DISTRICT...!!!" Debris and shockwaves fill the air as people flee in terror.

Authorities issue urgent orders. "CIVILIAN, PLEASE BE ADVISED...!!!" "HE'S EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!! EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY!!" "DEPLOY ALL AVAILABLE MARINES TO HIS LOCATION!!" "JUST APPEARED BY THE BONDOLA GATE!! BARTHOLOMEW KUMA..." "BUT HIS CURRENT PURPOSE AND PROGRAMMING ARE UNKNOWN!!" "HE MAY SERVE THE CELESTIAL DRAGONS..." "DO NOT APPROACH!!" "HE'S A MAN WITH NO SHRED OF HUMANITY..." The scene shifts to Egghead. "EGGHEAD, THE ISLAND OF THE FUTURE - NEW WORLD" "...ESCAPE ROUTES FOR VEGAPUNK!!" "YES, SIR!!" "LOCKDOWN ANY AND ALL POSSIBLE..."

Vega Force 01 hovers above the chaos as agents scramble. "DAMN, THE ENEMY IS QUITE SHREWD!" one shouts. "AND VEGA FORCE 01 CAN ONLY FLY ON THE ISLAND... THEY'VE PROBABLY TAKEN CARE OF THE SHIPS TOO... THE AGENTS ARE ATTEMPTING TO BLOCK OFF ALL EXITS." Below, Lilith yells at Vegapunk, "LILITH! IF ALL YOU'VE GOT IN MIND IS ANOTHER BRAINLESS ATTACK, KNOCK IT OFF!" Vegapunk clutches his head, "SO THEY WON'T LET US GET AWAY WITHOUT A FIGHT...I" Edison declares, "PERFECT! THAT MEANS WE GET TO AVENGE ATLAS! I'M RARING TO GO!!" Lucci watches the Frontier Dome, noting, "THIS 'FRONTIER DOME' IS A REAL NUISANCE. HOW ARE WE MEANT TO FLUSH THEM OUT...I EVEN WITH THE SERAPHIM BACK UNDER CONTROL..." Stussy adds, "IT SURE IS A MARVEL." Vegapunk's group argues about priorities while Lucci confronts the Straw Hats' stance, "YOU'RE DETERMINED TO IGNORE THE NAVY, AREN'T YOU, LUCCII" Lucci replies coldly, "I REFUSE TO ACCEPT STRAW HAT AS AN EMPEROR."

The Vegapunk satellites debate their next move. "THEY'D HAVE NOWHERE TO HIDE IF THEY'RE IN THE GOVERNMENT'S SIGHTS TOO! HOLD YOUR HORSES! WON'TCHA BE RISKIN' THEM TOO IF WE ASK FOR HELPI" Sentomaru worries. "WE STILL HAVE ANOTHER ALLY ON THIS ISLAND WE CAN CALL ON... SHOULD WEI" another asks. Vegapunk sweats, "THAT ONLY HAPPENED BECAUSE YOU'RE SO LOYAL! STILL... I'M SO SORRY, SENTOMARU...!!!" Pythagoras states, "OF COURSE. I'VE ALWAYS BEEN PREPARED FOR THIS ORDER." Edison snaps, "HE ASKED SO SHAMELESSLY!" A call comes through, "HELLOI I'M IN A BIG PINCH! PLEASE SAVE ME-QUASAR..." Vegapunk decides, "I'LL TAKE US TO THE PORT WITH VEGA FORCE 01!" "I APPROVE. LET'S HURRY." "WHO PUT YOU IN CHARGEI!" the group erupts as they rush toward the ship amid alarms and chaos.

Inside the lab, the group prepares to flee. "I DON'T CARE! SO LONG AS LILITH-CHAN TAGS ALONG!!" Franky cheers. "HELL YEAH! A VOYAGE WITH SEVEN FACES OF THE WORLD'S BEST SCIENTISTS!!" someone exclaims. Vegapunk looks surprised, "SEVENI! YOU'RE ALL COMINGI" "I'M ALL PACKED. PLEASE TAKE THE SEVEN OF US TO YOUR SHIP-QUASAR." The Straw Hats and satellites board. Outside the lab, Bonney charges forward, "BONNEY!! HOLD UP!!" Luffy appears with a puzzled "HMI" as alarms blare "BEEEP BEEEP!!" Bonney swings her weapon, "HEY! I PROMISED TO GET THAT OLD-TIMER OUTTA HERE IN ONE PIECE! DON'T BEAT HIM UP!" She glares at Vegapunk, "THAT VEGAPUNK!! TO THINK HE'D STOOP TO USING BUGS AGAINST ME! THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE MAD ABOUTI!"

Alarms blare across Egghead as the Frontier Dome powers down. "WHYI! WHO WOULD DISABLE IT AND FOR WHAT PURPOSEI!" a Marine yells. "THE FRONTIER DOME IS OFFLINE. WHATI" another reacts. "LABO-STRATUM FRONTIER DOME DEFENSES... ARE NOW OFFLINE." Multiple beeps echo, "BEEEP BEEEP!!" "NO! OUR DETECTORS AREN'T PICKING UP ANYONE! IS SOMEONE IN THE CONTROL ROOMI!" "THE FRONTIER DOME IS OFFLINE." Panic spreads. "DOESN'T THIS MALFUNCTION SOUND A LITTLE TOO CONVENIENTI!" Stussy questions. Lucci narrows his eyes, "WAIT. IT MIGHT BE A TRAP!" Kaku points ahead, "IF THOSE DETERRENTS ARE REALLY DOWN, THIS IS A GOLDEN CHANCE, LUCCI!" Lucci answers, "...I! THAT WAS SUDDEN..."

High above the futuristic island of Egghead, several figures watch the chaos below as the Straw Hat ship approaches the massive lab complex. One voice exclaims, "...ISN'T THAT THE STRAW HAT SHIPI" Another states, "THE HEAVENS HAVE ABANDONED YOU, VEGAPUNK." A third adds, "FOR THIS TO HAPPEN WITH YOUR LIFE AT STAKE..." while another reassures, "SEE! WE'VE GOTTEN THIS FAR AND IT'S FINE, RIGHTI" Below, someone spots movement and shouts, "WOW! THERE'S A ROBOT HERE TOO!" A massive mechanical arm swings into view as a powerful attack is unleashed: "SKY SLICER!!" followed by "TEMPEST KICK..." One scarred fighter declares, "NOW WE'VE JUST GOTTA DESTROY THIS ONE." while another confirms, "WE'VE ALREADY TAKEN CARE OF ALL THE SHIPS DOWN BELOW..." A determined voice in a tall hat responds, "LEAVE IT TO ME!"

A blade flashes with "SHING!!" as a silhouette draws a sword amid motion lines and "RUSTLE". In the distance a sleepy figure emits "zzz...". Suddenly a massive impact erupts with "GIKYIN!!!" as a helmeted fighter's eyes widen in shock, "WHAT THE-I!" The number "4" flashes amid the explosion. Below, Roronoa Zoro's face fills the panel as he roars, "RORONOA!!" while a long-nosed man jolts awake yelling, "...INTERRUPTED MY NAPI" and "WHO THE HELL..."

Inside the lab, a robotic voice warns, "THEY'LL TARGET THE STRAW HATS' SHIP!" Another exclaims, "DAMN! WE WERE TOO LATE." A third reports, "BUT THE CP0 AGENTS HAVE ALREADY INFILTRATED!" while Shaka states, "I'VE GOT THE FRONTIER DOME BACK ONLINE..." A blonde figure in a large coat reacts with surprise, "WILL YOU LOOK AT THATI WE GET TO GO TO WAR AFTER ALL!!" Nearby, a small robot and a cloaked fighter clash violently amid impact effects. From the dome exterior, voices call out: "LUFFY!!" "HEEEY, GUYS!!" and a puzzled "HMI" as Luffy looks down in confusion, "HUHI"

Inside a crowded room the Straw Hats argue heatedly. One says, "YOU ALREADY BUMPED INTO THAT ROB LUCCI GUY, RIGHTI!" Luffy replies, "I WANNA STAY TOO, BUT WE CAN'T HELP IT SINCE THIS IS A GOVERNMENT ISLAND..." Nami insists, "BUT WE JUST GOT HERE! COME ON... LET'S NOT RUSH THIS!!" while another notes, "WE'RE ALREADY LEAVINGI!" A tattooed woman warns, "YOU HAVEN'T SEEN BONNEY, HAVE YOUI SHE'S A PIRATE LADY WITH LONG HAIR!" Chaos erupts as Bonney is chased, shouting "GYAAH!! STOP IT, BONNEY!!" and "WE'RE IN A RUSH HERE!!" while someone yells, "I'LL EXPLAIN!! JUST HEAR ME OUT!!" and "SHUT UP!" Robin asks, "NOW THAT YOU MENTION IT... WHERE'S VEGAPUNKI" In the next scene a massive clash occurs as a huge figure demands, "YES OR NOI!" while Bonney pleads, "NO...!! SORRY, I JUST CAN'T!! BUT THERE'S A REASON FOR THAT!!" and cries, "CAN YOU TURN MY DAD BACK TO NORMALI!"

Somewhere in the waters of the world, a ship pitches violently on massive waves. Crew members shout in alarm as a huge fish surfaces nearby: "ISN'T THAT FISH BIGGER THAN NORMALI!" and "WOAH!!" The crew debates their situation while eyeing a distant island. One sailor says, "WHEN HAVE I EVER PASSED ON EXPLORING AN ISLAND...I!" Another replies, "ARE YOU REALLY ASKING THATI!" and "SHOULD WE GO LOOK AROUNDI" A voice calls out, "KID! WAKE UP! WE'RE NEAR LAND!" A figure in a striped hat studies a paper silently. Suddenly a wild-haired man with goggles bursts forward, yelling "ELBAF!! THE HOME OF THE GIANTS..." Another voice echoes in shock, "ELBAFI!"

At G-14 Naval Base, chaos erupts as Vice Admiral Garp learns Koby has been captured by Blackbeard. Garp roars in fury while a subordinate cries, "KOBY!! KOBY WENT AND GOT CAPTURED BY BLACKBEARD!!" Garp bellows, "QUIT WHIMPERING! IT'S HARD TO WATCH. JUST..." and later "VICE ADMIRAL GARP!!" A marine sobs, "WAAAH!! I REALLY WANTED TO SEE YOU!!" and "THE HERO OF THE MARINES, GARP!!" Garp declares, "LET'S BEAT THE SNOT OUTTA THOSE PIRATES... WE'RE GONNA HEAD TO HACHINOSU!!...AND SAVE CAPTAIN KOBY!" Nearby, Vice Admiral Doll argues against an offensive, saying "DON'T BE LIKE THAT, DOLL! BWA HA HA HA!" and "THIS ISN'T A JOKE!" She retorts, "YOU WANT TO LAUNCH AN OFFENSIVE AGAINST AN EMPERORI! HAVE YOU CLEARED THIS WITH THE TOP BRASSI!" A small creature asks, "WHY WOULD IT...I HUHI" The chapter ends with the note "ONE PIECE CH. 1071 /END".
