A wide view of Cocoyasi Village shows a small house surrounded by tangerine trees. Large text declares “NAMI’S HOME!I” and “THIS IS…”. Inside the house, Genzo stands with his hands on the table while Nojiko sits across from him. Genzo says, “THE 3 OF US USED TO LIVE HERE HAPPILY IN COCOYAHI VILLAGE.” Nojiko replies, “THE ONE WHO RAISED US HAS LONG BEEN DEAD NOW BUT…” and “THAT’S RIGHT… SHE AND I ARE ORPHANS. WE WERE ADOPTED AND RAISED IN THIS HOUSE.” In a close-up, Nojiko smiles slightly with her hand near her face and remarks, “A REAL WITCH, RIGHTI” Usopp leans forward with wide eyes and shouts, “WELL, SOMETHING LIKE THAT. DID SHE BETRAY HER OWN HOMETOWN!I THIS VILLAGE…I THEN WHY DID SHE JOIN THE ARLONG PIRATES WHO NOW RULE OVER THIS VERY SAME VILLAGEI”

Nojiko sits on the counter with her back to Usopp and says, “WELL, AFTER WHAT YOU JUST SAID, I’VE GOT MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO THINK ABOUT. SO THEN… SHE’S BEEN DECEIVING US ALL ALONG… SHE MUST’VE ONLY BEEN AIMING FOR THE TREASURE RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING!” Usopp, labeled “CPT. USOPPI”, asks, “SOI WHAT’S YOUR BUSINESS WITH THAT WITCH,”. Close-ups show Usopp’s furious face as he thinks, “INSIDE HER MIND, SHE WAS ALWAYS PLANNING ON HOW TO STEAL OUR MONEY AND DITCH US…! AND LAUGHED SO HAPPILY WHEN SAILING TOGETHER WITH US…! EVEN THOUGH SHE HELPED PROTECT MY VILLAGE… IT PISSES ME OFF SO DAMN MUCH! THAT GIRL!!! WHEN I THINK THAT…” Nojiko smiles calmly and replies, “LAUGHING HAPPILY…I HERI” Usopp yells, “I TOLD YOU ALREADY, DON’T START ANY TROUBLE WITH THE ARLONG PIRATES. A PERSON LIKE HER DESERVES AN ATTACK OF THE SPIRITUAL ORDER! I’LL COMPLETELY IGNORE HER FROM NOW ON! WHY THAT EVIL WITCH!”

Nojiko leans on the table and tells Usopp, “WELL, THAT WOULD BE THE WISE THING TO DO. MESS WITH THE ARLONG PIRATES AND IT WON’T END WITH MERE INJURIES.” Usopp answers, “WELL, AS LONG AS I CAN GET BACK MY SHIP, IT’S ALL FINE. AND SINCE I’VE FOUND THE SHIP ALREADY, I GUESS I SHOULD HURRY UP AND LEAVE.” Suddenly they both turn toward the window as a loud “ガボーン” sounds outside. Usopp exclaims, “WHAT IS IT DOING OVER THERE…!I AHH! THE GOING MERRY! IS THAT SHIP YOU WERE TALKING ABOUTI BY THE WAY,” while Nojiko asks, “WHAT IS IT DOING OVER THERE…!I” A map of the Conomi Islands appears, labeling Arlong Park, Cocoyashi Village, Gosa Village, and the Going Merry’s current location. Usopp studies it and says, “THAT’S WHERE I SAW THOSE FISHMEN. I DO REMEMBER THERE BEING A VILLAGE TO THE WEST OF HERE. THAT MUST BE THE COCOYAHI VILLAGE CENTER… WAIT A MINUTE, THAT MEANS… ALRIGHT, I’VE GRASPED THE BASIC GEOGRAPHY OF THIS AREA.”

A fishman officer sweats nervously while speaking to himself. "AND HE WAS ALREADY ON THE VERGE OF DEATH... I FORGOT THAT ONE OF MY CREWMATES, GOT HIMSELF UNFORTUNATELY CAUGHT BY THE FISHMEN...! I JUST HOPE HE DIDN'T PROVOKE THEM AND GET HIMSELF KILLED..." Nearby, Nami looks concerned and asks, "WHAT'S WRONGI" as the bandana-wearing man beside her stares in shock. The scene shifts to a wide view of the grand entrance to Arlong Park, its shark-themed gates and buildings looming over the water with dramatic sound effects. In close-up, Arlong glares furiously and snaps, "YOU HALF-FISH MUTANT!" The man retorts, "I TOLD YOU ALREADY, I CAME HERE LOOKING FOR A SINGLE WOMAN!"

Arlong looms with a massive, toothy grin, declaring, "WE FISHMEN ARE 'EVOLVED HUMANS' WHO HAVE GAINED THE ABILITY TO BREATHE IN THE SEA. WITH OUR ABILITIES, WE'RE BEINGS OF A HIGHER ORDER THAN YOU PUNY HUMANS! OHI AN INFERIOR HUMAN DARES SLIGHT ME...I I'LL FORGIVE YOU JUST THIS ONCE BUT DON'T YOU EVER CALL US HALF-FISH AGAIN!" In a wider shot inside Arlong Park, he continues lecturing while seated before Sanji, "IN SHORT, WE ARE 'LORDS OF CREATION!' GET THAT THROUGH YOUR DENSE HEAD! OUR INNATE STRENGTH WHICH FAR EXCEEDS THAT OF HUMANS IS VERY PROOF OF THAT!" Nami stands watching as Arlong finishes, "IS ESSENTIALLY DEFYING THE 'DIVINE PROVIDENCE OF NATURE!' AND SO, A HUMAN WHO DEFIES A FISHMAN..."

Nami glares at Arlong and states firmly, "I'M SICK OF HEARING YOU BLAB ON ABOUT THAT STUPID PET THEORY OF YOURS, ARLONG." Arlong reacts with shock, "NA...!!!I" Nami continues speaking to Sanji, "YOU'RE THE ARLONG PIRATES' PRIZED 'CARTOGRAPHER.' YOU MAKE THE MOST ACCURATE NAUTICAL CHARTS! YOU'RE A DIFFERENT CASE, OF COURSE! NO NEED TO MAKE SUCH A SCARY FACE, NAMI!" Sanji smiles and replies, "OF COURSE! MY BRAIN'S OF A MUCH 'HIGHER ORDER' THAN ANY OF YOURS!" Zoro appears in close-up, sweating and demanding, "WHY THE HELL ARE YOU SO CHUMMY WITH THESE GUYS FOR...!I CARTOGRAPHER...!I HEY, NAMI!"

Nami stands before the seated Arlong and explains, "I WAS ABLE TO SWINDLE A HUGE FORTUNE FROM THESE GUYS DURING MY MOST RECENT HAUL. HE'S JUST ONE OF MY VICTIMS. DON'T BE SILLY, WHAT, ARE YOU TWO ACQUAINTANCESI" Sanji and Nami converse privately. Sanji says, "BUT TO THINK YOU'D ACTUALLY MAKE IT HERE..." Nami replies, "I KNEW YOU GUYS WERE CHASING AFTER ME TO A CERTAIN POINT." She then faces Sanji and reveals, "I'M AN OFFICER OF THE ARLONG PIRATES. SURPRISEDI THAT'S RIGHT. I WAS ALREADY A PIRATE WHEN WE MET. IS THIS YOUR TRUE SELFI"

Arlong leans forward with a massive grin, pointing accusingly as he declares, "THIS GIRL RIGHT HERE WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR THE SAKE OF MONEY, EVEN FORGET THE DEATH OF HER OWN PARENT! SHE'S A REAL COLD-BLOODED WITCH!" He laughs wildly, "SHAHA HAHA! SHE HAD YOU COMPLETELY STRUNG-ALONG!" A close-up shows his sharp-toothed face continuing, "MOREOVER, SHE'S GOT US AS HER BACKUP! TRICKING PEOPLE TO SWINDLE THEM IS LIKE HER SECOND NATURE!" Nami stands silently with a tense, sweating expression. In the hall below, Zoro sits with his back to the viewer while Nami faces him; Zoro says calmly, "WELL, IT'S NOT LIKE I REALLY TRUSTED HER ANYWAYS. WOULDN'T SURPRISE ME EVEN IF SHE TURNED OUT TO BE A DEVILISH CUTTHROAT." An unseen voice replies, "I SEE..."

Nami smiles faintly and replies, "THEN CAN YOU JUST GIVE UP ON YOUR TREASURE AND MY NAVIGATION SKILLS AND DISAPPEAR ALREADYI YOU'RE AN EYESORE!" Zoro smirks back, "IF YOU'VE REALIZED THAT I WAS ONLY TRICKING YOU, HMPH... WELL THEN THAT MAKES THINGS EASIER. I HAD A FEELING YOU WERE A GOOD-FOR-NOTHING WOMAN. RIGHT FROM THE VERY BEGINNING, HEH HEH...!" Outside on the walkway, Nami and Zoro face each other tensely as a large fishman charges forward with an exclamation mark overhead; the ground erupts violently with a massive "トン...!" impact and "ドボォン...!!" splash. Nami's eyes widen in shock as she gasps, "W-WHAT!I" while Zoro stares at the sudden destruction.

Nami sweats nervously, thinking, "THEN MAYBE IT WAS SUICIDEI NO WAY! AS IF A HUMAN WITH HIS HANDS AND LEGS TIED COULD EVER SWIM. MAYBE HE'S TRYING TO ESCAPE!" Arlong and his officers watch from the water's edge, one asking, "NO, I DON'T THINK ANYBODY SAID SOMETHING FUNNY. DID HE FALL OVER LAUGHINGI WHAT HAPPENED!I WHY'D HE SUDDENLY JUMP BACK LIKE THAT!I" while sound effects "ヅ ヅ..." and "どよー どよー" rumble. A close-up shows Nami's sandal slipping off with "カチャリ..." as she mutters, "THAT IDIOT..." Arlong snarls, "JUST LEAVE HIM BE...!" Below, a huge splash erupts in the pool as someone shouts, "NAMI!I"

Zoro pants heavily, sweat flying, as he demands, "HEY, WHAT'S THE MEANING OF THIS, NAMI!I" while an unseen voice notes, "AH... THEY'RE BACK UP." A fishman officer smirks with "ざわざわ..." sound effects. Nami, drenched and breathing hard with "ハハハ..." and "ゼェゼェ...", coughs and replies, "I SHOULD ASK YOU THE SAME THING. WHAT'S THE BIG IDEA..." A massive fishman looms over her, growling, "SHOULDN'T BE ACTIN' ALL TOUGH! A SMALL-TIME CROOK LIKE YOU WHO CAN'T EVEN LET ONE PERSON DIE," as water splashes violently around them.

Nami glares with wide eyes and clenched teeth, sweat dripping down her face. "ALMOST THOUGHT I WAS A GONER... AND BE QUICKER NEXT TIME, SLOWPOKE." Zoro, bruised and bandaged, stands close to her and replies calmly, "I WONDER... YOU'RE A DEAD MAN! IF YOU GET INVOLVED WITH ME ANYMORE THAN THIS." Nami suddenly lashes out with a powerful kick, sending Zoro flying backward amid impact lines and the sound "UGH!" as she shouts, "DON'T YOU GET CHEEKY WITH ME!" Zoro lands hard but straightens up, explaining, "I JUST DIDN'T HAVE ANY CHANGE OF CLOTHES, THAT'S ALL!" Nami eyes the fresh bandages wrapped around his torso and remarks, "...SOME BANDAGES YOU'VE GOT THERE."

From the upper balcony of the grand building, Nami calls down, "LOCK HIM UP FOR NOW! I'LL PUT AN END TO HIM LATER." A fishman below asks, "HEY NAMI, WHAT'RE YOU GONNA DO WITH HIMI" Inside, a shark-like fishman with sharp teeth growls, "THERE WAS ANOTHER LONG-NOSED HUMAN WHO GOT AWAY!" Arlong lounges in a chair and asks, "WHAT IS IT, MY FELLOW BROTHERI" The name "ARLONG!!!" echoes as the scene shifts. Zoro and Nami react tensely while a fishman muses, "COCOYASHI VILLAGE...I IT JUST SO HAPPENED THAT I HAD SOME BUSINESS TO ATTEND TO THERE... I THINK HE'S PROBABLY HIDING IN COCOYASHI VILLAGE SOMEWHERE..." Nami and Zoro both react with shock as someone exclaims, "...USOPPII DAMN, SO THEY FOUND OUT ABOUT HIM AFTER ALL..."

A villager in a striped shirt stands in the sunny street of Cocoyashi Village beneath a sign reading "COCOYASHI VILLAGE" and shouts, "HEY! ARLONG'S COMING THIS WAY!" Another villager cries out, "WHAT!I" In the background, residents begin to panic and scatter. Several villagers gather in fear as one says, "SPIN SPIN SPIN... HE'S HERE!" Another warns, "EVERYONE GO INSIDE YOUR HOMES. IT'S PROBABLY BECAUSE MY WEAPONS WERE FOUND..." A man with a windmill hat on his head mutters, "GEN..." while another resident asks, "HE JUST COLLECTED OUR TRIBUTE! WHAT DOES HE NEED FROM US...I"

Arlong's fishman crew arrives in force, kicking up dust as one declares, "THE ONE FOUND IN POSSESSION OF WEAPONS, 3 DAYS AGOI ARE YOU THE ONEI" Genzo, the windmill-hatted sheriff of Cocoyashi Village, sits on a wooden railing and answers firmly, "NO, I'M NOT. ONLY VIOLENCE AND EVIL CAN COME FORTH FROM WEAPONS. CAN'T A PERSON EVEN HAVE A HOBBYIST COLLECTION UNDER YOUR RULEI I'VE ALWAYS LIKED LOOKING AT WEAPONS. THEY'RE THE GREATEST THREAT TO PEACE. THAT'S RIGHT." Arlong looms over him with a massive saw-like weapon on his back while the fishmen laugh "BRRROOOHAHAHA..." and spin a pinwheel toy with the sound "SPIN SPIN."

Villagers peer from a doorway at the towering fishman. "BUT... IT LOOKS LIKE NAMI DIDN'T COME WITH HIM." "HE IS A FISHMAN." "HE'S INHUMAN!" "HE'S HUGE!" "SO THAT'S ARLONG!I" "SHE'S PROBABLY AT ARLONG PARK." Arlong stands laughing loudly in the village square, "オオオオオ..." declaring, "I'VE GOT 20 VILLAGES UNDER MY RULE..." A fishman officer adds, "AND 'REBELS' ARE QUITE A NUISANCE FOR US, YOUR RULERS..." Arlong's face fills the panel as he snarls, "THEN THAT MEANS HE INTENDS TO REBEL AGAINST US!" "IF SOMEONE FAILS TO PAY HIS 'TRIBUTE,'" and finishes with a roar, "I DESTROYED THE REBELLIOUS PORT TOWN OF GOSA TO TEACH A LESSON TO ALL THE OTHER TOWNS!"

Nojiko and Genzo continue the tense exchange outside the building. "WE HAVE TO BUY OUR VERY OWN LIVES FROM THEM WITH MONEY...! ADULTS, KIDS, EVERYONE." "IT'S MONEY WE HAVE TO PAY MONTH AFTER MONTH." Genzo sweats, "WHAT'S HE TALKING ABOUTI" "TRIBUTEI" Arlong's booming laugh echoes over the ruined street, "オオオオオオオ..." as narration warns, "HIS ENTIRE VILLAGE WILL BE DESTROYED JUST LIKE GOSA VILLAGE!" "SO IF THERE'S EVEN ONE PERSON IN AN ENTIRE VILLAGE WHO FAILS TO PAY HIS TRIBUTE... EVEN A SINGLE PERSON," Nojiko's eyes narrow, "WITH THEIR 'RACIAL DOCTRINE,' THEY DON'T EVEN THINK TWICE ABOUT KILLING A HUMAN." Genzo panics, "THAT'S LIFE UNDER ARLONG'S RULE." Arlong continues his rant before the villagers, "WHAT I NEED IS AN ENORMOUS SUM OF MONEY!" "HEAR ME WELL, INFERIOR HUMANS! ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS WORK HARD AND PAY THE TRIBUTE! THERE'S NO NEED TO THINK ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE!" His jaws stretch wide in a massive close-up, "OF MY ARLONG EMPIRE THAT WILL RULE ALL OF EAST BLUE!" "YOUR TRIBUTE WILL SOON BECOME THE CORNER-STONE," The scene cuts to Nojiko gripping a weapon, telling two men, "BEFORE ARLONG COMES BACK!" "NOW HURRY UP AND GET OUT OF HERE," One swordsman replies, "HMMI" while motion lines and "ズクッ" mark sudden movement.
