The story opens as the Big Mom Pirates arrive on ruined Zou while chasing the Swirlyhat Pirates. A narration box announces: "Chasing after the Swirlyhat Pirates! The 'Yonkou' Big Mom Pirates disembark!!" Pekoms and Baron Tamago stare at the wreckage and wonder, "What the hell is going on...?" and "Where is everyone in this country?" Pekoms cries out, "What happened here?! Gaooo!!" and asks who had the gall to do such a thing to Zou. Some of the crew immediately suspect the Straw Hats, asking whether the Straw Hat Pirates caused all of this and what they have done.

At the Mokomo Dukedom's Right Belly Fortress, the minks explain that the fortress was once a castle for a local lord created by their ancestors. They say Zunisha has remained unchanged the whole time, carrying the history of the Mink Tribe on its back. A translator note identifies Zunisha as the elephant that Zou rests upon. Nami receives clothing and is told that trading clothes with a foreigner is a sign of friendship. She notices the wardrobe is high-end designer quality, almost as if it belonged to someone important, and the minks confirm that one piece is considered a national treasure. Nami is shocked that they are giving it to her, while the minks happily greet Sanji with "Garuchuuu."

Sanji is overwhelmed by the mink greeting, asking what this splendor called "Garuchu" could be and whether it might be a wondrous incantation of love. Male minks enthusiastically call to him, "Sanjiii! Don't forget about us! Garuchuuu," but Sanji snaps that he does not give a damn about men. The minks joyfully hug Nami as well, celebrating "Viva minkship!!!" Sanji sees Nami in the new clothing and loses all composure, calling her a goddess before trying to rush toward her with "Nami-saaaan, Gaaaru-chuuuu." The comedy of the page is Sanji discovering that mink affection is real, overwhelming, and not limited to beautiful women.

The group checks on Momonosuke, who remains locked alone in his room because isolation tends to settle him down, and Brook notes that they should not let him be seen in human form. Caesar boasts that his assignment has been completed by his genius. Chopper comes to pick up the medicine and addresses him as Dr. Caesar, while minks outside excitedly call him "the scientist Caesar." Caesar complains that they are tossing around misleading labels and fumes internally that he is stuck making medicine to help people. Brook is told that his doglike fans are waiting outside, but he says it is hard to feel flattered when his fanbase is a bunch of dogs.

Pekoms reaches the surviving minks and breaks down in tears, howling, "Waaahh... Waooo, Waoof... Everyone's okay after all!!!" He calls out for his father, mother, friends, and relatives, saying that when he saw the town's condition his heart nearly stopped. The minks tell him everyone survived thanks to the Straw Hat Pirates, and they remark that it has been many years since he came home. Pekoms realizes Jack and the Hundred Beasts Pirates were responsible and curses them, furious that he had no idea such a disaster was happening to his own birthplace while he was away.

Nami spots the Big Mom Pirates nearby and recognizes Pekoms among them. A mink explains that Pekoms was once well known for youthful indiscretion, and Sanji realizes that Pekoms is also a mink. Caesar panics because the Big Mom Pirates must have heard that he came to Zou and must be after him, begging the Straw Hats not to hand him over. Sanji coldly says Caesar was useful as a trump card against Doflamingo, but since Luffy and the others have already defeated Doflamingo, Caesar is now excess baggage. When Sanji asks what Caesar did to Big Mom, Caesar admits she commissioned research from him, but he lied when it bore no fruit and took her payment anyway, relying on Doflamingo as a buffer.

Sanji considers the situation and says they could get the Big Mom Pirates off their backs simply by handing over Caesar, terrifying Caesar. But he remembers Luffy challenging Big Mom on Fishman Island, declaring that he would find her in the New World, beat her up, and put Fishman Island under his protection. Brook also reminds the others that Big Mom's ship attacked and wrecked theirs. Caesar tries to talk Sanji into teaming up to get rid of Pekoms and Tamago, but Sanji refuses, saying Caesar has to face the consequences of his own actions. He tells Nami to stay with everyone else and has Brook come with him, while Caesar keeps pushing assassination as their best option.

Sanji and Brook confront the Big Mom Pirates and Sanji asks what business they have on Zou, warning that their presence is making everyone anxious. He says the people of this country have already suffered badly and that their bodies and hearts are covered in scars. Instead of attacking, Pekoms thanks them, roaring that he has nothing to say but gratitude. He explains that he had no idea the catastrophe was happening to his own hometown and birthplace, and he calls the Straw Hats the country's greatest saviors. The page turns the expected enemy encounter into an emotional debt, at least from Pekoms's point of view.

Pekoms explains that they came under direct orders from Mama to capture Caesar, but that other circumstances have arisen that could break apart the Straw Hat crew. Because the Straw Hats saved his family and friends, he offers to turn a blind eye and report that part of the mission as a failure if they hand over Caesar, even saying he will claim they failed to capture the Straw Hat Pirates. Sanji is stunned and asks whether Pekoms is serious. Baron Tamago scolds him not to place personal feelings above the mission, but Pekoms insists he cannot let anything happen to the people who saved his home. Suddenly Capone Bege calls him a native fool and shoots Pekoms in the back, making Sanji shout, "Bastard!!"

Sanji and Brook react in shock that Bege shot his own crewmate in the back. Bege dismisses Pekoms as pathetic, saying that letting emotions and personal feelings get the better of him only turns a person into a fool and a coward. He declares that they have no more use for someone like that and that he will handle things from here on out. Then Bege reveals the bizarre nature of his power by opening himself like a fortress and ordering, "Everybody out!" Tiny figures begin emerging from within him, and Sanji and Brook can only stare in disbelief as the situation changes from a negotiation into an ambush.

An armed force pours out of Bege's body as if from a castle, leaving Sanji and Brook astonished that humans are coming out of him. Bege tells them to surrender, saying they are out of their depth. The page emphasizes the scale of his ability: soldiers, weapons, and organization all deploy from inside one man's body, surrounding the Straw Hat allies before they can respond. Pekoms lies wounded while Bege's men establish control of the meeting point, turning the Big Mom Pirates' arrival into a Fire Tank Pirates operation directed by Bege himself.

Bege asks whether they know him, saying they should because their captain has caused many waves this year and he has been riding that current. Sanji wonders what kind of Devil Fruit user he is dealing with. Bege explains that he ate the Shiro Shiro no Mi and is a "Shiro Man," with a translator note clarifying the castle-man meaning. Bege explains his tactical advantage: if the minks are drawn to the scene now, they will side with Sanji, and Bege knows exactly how powerful they can be in battle. He orders Vito to bring the others, and Vito arrives with Nami and Chopper captured. Nami apologizes, saying she got worried, while Chopper says he thought there were only two enemies. Bege then orders Caesar to show himself. To force him down, Bege threatens to have his men fire Kairouseki bullets into the air in two seconds and blast Caesar out of the sky, putting Sanji, Nami, Chopper, Brook, and Caesar under pressure all at once.

Caesar panics and surrenders, shouting for them to wait and not shoot because he is here. Bege says all the actors of their play have gathered. He then admits he does not actually have any Kairouseki bullets, though he does have a Kairouseki spear. With the bluff successful and Caesar secured, Bege says he is not big on idle chat and orders the captives to come into his castle. Sanji recognizes that everything is going exactly at Bege's pace, but the others have been captured and Caesar has been forced into range, leaving him little room to make a clean counterattack.

Outside, Bege's men stand over the wounded Pekoms while the Fire Tank Pirates complete the capture. Inside Bege's body is a full castle interior, including a formal dining room. Sanji is brought inside and sits tensely at the table, separated from the open battlefield and forced into Bege's domain. The shift in setting makes the enemy power feel even more unnatural: Bege is not simply carrying troops but an entire fortress environment within himself. After a brief wait, Bege enters the room with a flourish and says, "Sorry to keep you waiting," preparing to present the real purpose behind the ambush.

Inside the castle, Sanji impatiently demands that Bege hurry up and tell them what he wants, while another captive worries, "This is the end of the line. I'm gonna be killed!!" Bege's attendants offer wine and food, but Sanji snaps that he said no and tells them to keep their stinking food. Bege calls him obstinate and says things are a little different from when they met a week ago. He reveals an invitation card he has been holding for a tea party that Mama is throwing, and says the main event this time is a wedding ceremony. The bride will be the 35th daughter of the Charlotte family, Purin, and the bridegroom will be the third son of the Vinsmoke family, Sanji. The page ends on Sanji's stunned face with the side note, "Sanji's... getting married?!"
