Romance Dawn

Luffy yawns loudly aboard his small wooden boat on the open sea, stretching with arms raised high. "FWAAAH!" he exclaims. A narration box states "I SLEPT WELL." He then thrusts both fists upward with a beaming smile, declaring "I FEEL GREAT!" A small inset panel shows him sitting on the boat as a loud "PAAN...!" sound effect erupts nearby, prompting an off-panel voice to shout "WHATI" A name box clearly labels him "NAME: MONKEY D. LUFFY".

A massive impact rocks Luffy's boat as a huge bird-like creature crashes into it. "WHATI" Luffy yells in shock. The creature, resembling a giant ostrich or panda, smashes through the hull, creating a large hole. Luffy grabs onto the bird desperately while it squawks "Gwaaah." Dialogue flies: "AH!! THE IMPACT JUST NOW MADE A HOLE ON THE BOAT!!" "WHAT A HUGE BIRD. IS IT AN OSTRICHI" "NO, MAYBE A PANDAI" Luffy shouts "HEY!! DON'T MOVE AROUND, OKAY!I I'M PLUGGING THE HOLE WITH YOUR BUTT." "IF THE BOAT SINKS, I'M SCREWED 'CAUSE I CAN'T SWIM."

A massive pirate ship suddenly looms over the small boat, its hull towering and sails billowing. Loud impact sounds "ドゴゴゴゴゴ" and "どん!!" shake the scene. Luffy stares up in wide-eyed surprise from the water, sweat flying, exclaiming "WHAT THE HECKI WHEN DID THIS...!I" The enormous vessel continues forward, nearly colliding with the damaged boat below.

On the deck of a large sailing ship, crew members shout in panic as a massive bird carries young Monkey D. Luffy away. "FLY FAR AWAY!!" "HURRY!!!" Luffy clings to the giant bird and yells, "BAL-LOON! RUN AWAY!!!" The bird struggles mid-air while voices from below cry out, "UGH!! WHAT'S GOING ON!I" and "THAT'S NOT HAPPENING!! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT, ANYWAY." A dark silhouette on the ship gestures upward and calmly orders, "CARRY THAT BIRD ONTO THE DECK, PLEASE." Luffy looks down in surprise as someone calls, "STRAWHAT YOUNG'UN!!" The final panel shows the bird's talons gripping ropes on the ship's rigging.

Aboard the ship, a short-haired girl in a striped shirt glares angrily and demands, "WHY'D YOU BRING BAL-LOON!I" and "HOW DARE YOUI" Luffy sits nearby looking confused while the bird perches on the railing. Crew members argue in the background, one yelling, "YOU WERE HOLDING HIM DOWN RIGHT!I I WAS WATCHING!!" Another retorts, "HE GOT CAUGHT BY THEM BECAUSE OF YOU!!" The girl snaps, "HE'S NOT A PANDA!!" Luffy replies, "BALLOONI OH, THAT PANDAI" She adds, "HE WAS HURT." A nameplate appears beside her reading "NAME: ANNE" as large stylized sound effects punctuate the argument.

Anne and Luffy continue talking on deck. Luffy points excitedly, "THAT'S RIGHT, AN UNKNOWN PIRATE'S. THIS IS A PIRATE SHIP!I" Anne asks, "WHAT'S THATI SPIEL!I" Luffy explains, "THAT'S 'CAUSE HE WAS SHOT BY 'SIX-SIDED SPIEL'!! HE'S THE CAPTAIN OF THIS PIRATE SHIP." Anne's face fills a panel as she states, "IS A BLACK MAGIC USER." Luffy looks shocked, "BLACK MAGICI" She continues, "THIS BOAT'S CAPTAIN... UNTIL HE RAIDED OUR VILLAGE! EVEN MY TOWNSPEOPLE KNEW NOTHING ABOUT SPIEL THE PIRATE." Below, Luffy sits on the railing looking worried as a crew member shouts, "THE CAPTAIN HAS AR-RIVED!!!" A dark monstrous silhouette appears with the narration, "BUT THEY COULDN'T EVEN GET CLOSE TO HIM. ALL THE TOWNSPEOPLE TRIED TO RAISE ARMS AND FIGHT HIM."

The pirate captain "Six-sided Spiel" stands tall on deck in a striped outfit and large hat, surrounded by nervous crew. He grins and says, "IT LOOKS LIKE YOU'VE CAPTURED THE MONSTER BIRD, ROC... THANKS FOR THE TROUBLE..." A subordinate replies, "Y-YES, SIR!" A footnote reads, "* ROC IS A MYTHICAL BIRD OF PREY HAVING ENORMOUS SIZE AND STRENGTH." Anne sweats and thinks, "EVEN HIS CREW IS SCARED OF HIM... THAT'S HIM...!" Luffy stares in shock. Spiel continues, "IT'S BE-CAUSE OF HIM THAT MY TOWN WAS DE-STROYED AND LOOTED!!" A close-up shows Spiel's face as he warns with a menacing grin, "IF YOU FIGHT BACK, YOU'LL BE KILLED." Large sound effects and impact lines emphasize the tension.

Luffy stands sweating on a wooden platform, wide-eyed and nervous. A tall man in a long coat and hat points at him and declares, "YOU'RE... THE ONE WHO HELPED CAPTURE THE ROC." Luffy bows his head and laughs loudly, "I THANK YOU....!! HA HA HA HA HA!" A large sound effect "ザッ...!" and smaller effects punctuate the exchange. In the wide central panel the tall man faces Luffy from behind and states, "YOU HAVE A FUNNY HEAD," while a crowd of bizarre long-necked, wide-mouthed figures stares from both sides. Below, the short-haired girl in a striped shirt leans forward and shouts, "BUT LOOK AT HIM!" Luffy spins around, furious, yelling "STUPID!!! WERE YOU LISTENING TO ANYTHING!!I" as the surrounding creatures react with shock and the girl glares back.

Luffy and the short-haired girl grip the bars of their prison cell as a large impact sound "ガチャンッ!" erupts. A voice off-panel yells "IMPRISON THOSE FOOLS!!!" In the next scene Luffy stands at the window murmuring "IT'S THE SEA. What a great view..." while the girl sits on the floor with knees drawn up, replying with ellipses. A guard in striped pants walks away down the corridor saying "BE GOOD KIDS." The girl suddenly stands and corrects Luffy, "IT'S NOT AN OSTRICH, EITHER!! HE'S A ROC!! HIS NAME IS BALLOON!!" Luffy asks, "WAS THAT OSTRICH YOURS...I" She snaps, "PLEASE DON'T. I WANNA KILL YOU!" while swinging her arm with a sharp "KSK" sound.

The short-haired girl smiles while recounting her past: "WE WERE NEVER APART...! WE PLAYED TOGETHER AND SLEPT TOGETHER. I'VE BEEN WITH HIM SINCE I CAN REMEMBER." Flashback panels show her as a child sleeping beside the large bird Balloon. She continues, "TO OTHERS, HE MAY BE JUST A BIRD, BUT TO ME, HE'S SOMEONE I CAN TRUST MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE: MY BEST FRIEND!" Luffy, standing with arms crossed, asks, "WHY WERE YOU KIDNAPPEDI" The girl turns her head away and answers simply, "I SEE."

Luffy sweats and mutters "I SEE. For realsI" as the girl grins and points at herself, declaring "BECAUSE I'M CUTE" with a sparkling effect. She explains, "IT'S A TYPE OF PIRATE. PEACE MAINI" while Luffy stands inside the cell. The girl asks, "I'M LOOKING FOR SOME PEACE MAINS. HOW ABOUT YOUI WHAT WERE YOU DOING ON A SMALL BOAT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEAI" Luffy smiles widely and answers, "I WANNA JOIN THEIR CREW." Narration boxes clarify: "PIRATES WHO GO ON AN ADVENTURE BY FEEDING ON MORGAN-EERS ARE CALLED 'PEACE MAINS.' PIRATE CREWS LIKE THIS ONE WHO JUST PILLAGE ARE CALLED 'MORGAN-EERS.'"

Luffy stands with arms crossed, facing Shanks. A small speech bubble shows only "......" as Luffy listens. Luffy then grins widely and declares, "I'M GOING TO BE A PIRATE!!" Shanks bursts into laughter with a huge "GRIN" and replies, "TO BE A PEACE MAIN!!" The scene shifts to a close-up of a scarred, bearded man laughing uproariously with "ぶぇっはっはっは" and "はっはっはっは". He shouts, "LUFFY!! BEING A PIRATE IS GRAND. IF YOU'RE A MAN, GO OUT TO THE SEA!!!!" and "GO OUT 'CAUSE I SAID SO!! BWA HA HA HA!!!!" Luffy answers, "MY GRANDPA WAS A PEACE MAIN PIRATE, AND..." The bearded man retorts, "I DON'T REMEMBER RAISING MY GRANDSON TO BE SO SELFISH!!" Luffy protests, "I DON'T WANNA BE A PIRATE!" and adds, "I CAN'T SWIM. I DON'T LIKE THE SEA, EITHER." The man reacts with shock, "WHAT!I" while Luffy finishes, "NO."

Luffy smiles while listening to the crew argue in a lively tavern. Crew members shout, "FIGHT FOR IT!!!", "I HAD THE MOST BATTLE FEATS.", "I'M THE ONE WHO FOUND THE TREASURE.", "DON'T BE SILLY!! IT'S BECAUSE OF ME THAT WE DIDN'T GET LOST ON THAT ISLAND!!", "AAAAH, CAPTAIN, YOU'RE TAKING TOO MUCH.", and "WE'RE GONNA SPLIT UP THIS VOYAGE'S BOOTY!!" with sound effects "ワス ワス" and "うおおおおお". Luffy laughs heartily. The scene cuts to a muscular man with a scar declaring, "100 YEARS TOO EARLY." and "CAPTAIN WINS!!" while others react with "STRONG...!!!" and "MIND". Luffy then stares at a strange spiral-patterned fruit as a voice warns, "DON'T EAT IT!!!!" The narration continues, "THE ENEMY SHIP HAPPENED TO HAVE IT!! IT'S A DREAM FRUIT WORTH FIVE BILLION BERRIES IF YOU SELL IT, AND..." Luffy reaches for it with a determined face, replying "NASTY." as impact lines and "どーん" SFX appear.

Luffy bites into the fruit as the scarred man screams, "BEEEEEEEEEEH!I NO WAY—!!!" and "YOU FOOL—!!!" while crew members panic with "あぁぁぁぁ". The man yells, "IF YOU EAT IT, YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO SWIM YOUR WHOLE LIFE!!!" and "THAT'S A DEVILISH FRUIT!!!" Luffy sweats and reacts with shock. The scarred man continues, "YOU GET BACK UP QUICKLY, KID! THAT'S NO FUN." Luffy replies, "WHAT." and "I REALLY CAN'T SWIM FOREVER..." while thinking, "OH WELL, THAT'S ALL RIGHT. IT'S NOT LIKE I WANTED TO BE A PIRATE." and "I don't know how to swim anyway." The man grabs Luffy by the collar and shouts, "IT WILL BE ALL RIGHT!! THERE ARE LOTS OF PEOPLE WHO DON'T GO OUT TO THE SEA AND CAN STILL LIVE HAPPILY!!" and "WELL!! IT'S A GOOD THING THAT YOU HATED THE SEA!!" with laughter "ぶわっはっはっはっは". Luffy is pulled away as "PULL" effects appear.

Luffy cries out in pain with a giant "31" on his head, tears streaming as he yells, "BUT I COULDN'T SWIM SO I SAID THOSE THINGS... OWW!!!" and "I...!!! I WANTED TO BE A PIRATE!!! REALLY...!!!" with sound effects "HIC..." and "ぎっ". The scarred man looks at him seriously and says, "LUFFY..." A flashback shows a younger Luffy kneeling and declaring, "I DON'T WANNA BE A HAMMER FOREVER!!!" and "I WANNA GO OUT AND SEE LOTS OF PLACES!!!" The man smiles warmly and responds, "YOU WANNA BE A PIRATE!" Luffy covers his face, sobbing with "ひっく" and "Z Z Z" effects. The man watches with a gentle expression, saying, "I SEE."

A scarred, furious bandit leader looms in close-up, roaring, "THE SEA'S DIFFERENT FROM A RIVER OR A LAKE!!! IT'S A BEAST!!!!" His mouth stretches wide in the next panel as he bellows, "DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE SEA —!!!" with massive Japanese sound effects exploding around him. Below, young Luffy is violently shaken by the collar; the bandit snarls, "YOU VIOLENT OLD MAN! A MAN WHIMPERING OVER SUCH A SMALL THING..." and warns, "IF A SHIP GOES DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEA, EVEN I'LL DIE!!!" Luffy, unfazed, grins and retorts, "YOU STARTED IT!!! HOW DARE YOU KICK YOUR GRANDPA!!!" while a small child watches from the side. The bandit mutters, "I SEE. YOU'RE A HAMMER, HUH. FOREVER, TOO."

Luffy proudly holds up his straw hat, declaring, "IT'S MY TREASURE. WAS ALWAYS WORN BY THAT VIOLENT GRANDPA. THIS HAT..." The girl with the striped shirt watches with wide eyes and says, "BALLOON!" Luffy places the hat on his head and muses, "IF THAT'S THE CASE, MINE'S... TREASURE...!" while the girl adds, "MMM-HMM. WHAT'S YOURSI" Suddenly Luffy points excitedly and shouts, "LISTEN! A WHALE! HEY, LOOK!" as the girl sits nearby. The bandit leader's silhouette appears in the background.

The title "ROMANCE DAWN" appears at the top. Inside a wooden room, Luffy sweats and complains, "THERE'S NO WAY!! STOP DREAMING. I'M GETTING OFF. I'M BORED..." while the girl sits with arms crossed. She points out, "WHAT I MEANT WAS THAT WE CAN'T GET OUT OF HERE." Luffy, now wearing the straw hat, admits, "MY BOAT WAS DESTROYED BY THAT HUGE BIRD. THAT'S TRUE." They discover the keys on the floor. Luffy walks down a corridor saying, "THE KEYS WERE RIGHT HERE." The girl follows. Suddenly the bandit leader appears behind bars, roaring, "HOW'D YOU GET OUT!!!" and grabs the bars while yelling, "I'M ASKING HOW YOU COULD REACH THOSE FROM THIS CELL!!!"

Luffy and the girl continue talking in the corridor. She asks, "HEY! SO YOU CAN USE BLACK MAGICI" Luffy replies, "NOPE." She then says, "I'M GONNA LOOK FOR A BOAT." Luffy answers, "I REFUSE." The girl pleads, "HELP ME!" and later screams, "HELP MEEE!!" while running. Luffy stands firm, stating, "I REFUSE, too tired." He walks away saying, "ISN'T IT OBVIOUSI I'M GOING TO RESCUE BLACK BALLOON." The girl chases after him, shouting, "WHERE ARE YOU GOINGI" Luffy looks back and reminds her, "YOU WERE THE ONE WHO SAID THAT THE PIRATES ON THIS SHIP ARE SCARY." She yells, "STINGY!!!" as she runs down the hall.

On the deck of a large pirate ship, several guards lie fast asleep under the midday sun. The striped-shirt girl peeks around a corner and whispers, "LUCKY!! They're all napping!" A speech bubble notes, "BUT IT LOOKS LIKE THERE ARE STILL A COUPLE OF GUARDS." Below deck, the caged bird struggles as the girl works at the lock, muttering "RUDDLE RUDDLE..." The bird cries "..." while the girl promises, "I'LL GET YOU OUTTA THERE SOON!" In a dramatic close-up, the tied-up man with pigtails grins widely and laughs "GRIN" as chaos erupts around him.

Monkey D. Luffy dashes along the shore pulling a small boat, shouting "ON TOP OF THAT, I FOUND FOOD, TOO! FOUND IT, FOUND IT, A NICE BOAT!" with sound effects "ははは" and "ズズズ". The striped-shirt girl stares in shock, muttering "UGH..." as a large ship looms in the background. On the pirate ship's deck she stands atop a defeated man, sword drawn, declaring "LET BALLOON GO AS YOU PROMISED!" while he protests "YOU LOOKED DOWN ON ME 'CAUSE I'M A GIRL, DIDN'T YOUI" Onlookers watch the confrontation.

The pirate captain with skull hat roars "LOSING TO A LITTLE GIRL... SCUM..." while the striped-shirt girl slices through her own hair with a blade, screaming "AHH!!!" as the crowd gasps. Onlookers sweat nervously. The girl then faces the caged bird, yelling "BALLOON! YOU'LL LET HIM OUT NOW!!" The bird flaps wildly with "GWAH RAH RAH" and "イエーイ". She smiles and says "YOU WIN. YOU CAN LET HIM GO. YEAH!" as the lock breaks with "KI...NI!"

The striped-shirt girl lunges forward to free the caged bird amid loud impact sounds "ガッ シャン...!" The bird bursts out with "ガッ シャン...!" The pirate captain fires his gun, shouting "PUPUH!" and "GWAARRRHH!!" while the girl dodges. He laughs triumphantly "AH HA HA HA. WHO'S GONNA LET YOU TAKE HIM OUT WHEN WE FINALLY CAUGHT HIMI" as the girl clings to the bars and the bird escapes. Onlookers react with shock.

On the deck of a large marine ship, a cloaked figure with a wide pirate hat aims a long cannon directly forward while muttering "HEY..." and "HRMMI". Straw Hat Luffy stands calmly nearby and remarks, "WHAT A GREAT WEATHER, WHERE ARE YOU HEADINGI". In the lower panels, Luffy faces a tall, stern man with a long face and dark coat, commenting "IT LOOKS KIND OF LIKE A WATER STRIDER. YOUR HEAD, I MEAN." while large Japanese sound effects "ずど" and "ん" punctuate the moment. Nearby marines watch with varied expressions as the tall man glares back.

Close-up reactions show wide-eyed shock: "WHAT HAS HE DONE...!I" and "IS HE AN IDIOT...I". Luffy, unfazed, asks the wounded man on the floor "HEY, WHY ARE YOU SLEEPING WHILE YOU'RE BLEEDINGI" as the man replies he was shot and fell. Luffy then takes a massive kick to the face from a high-heeled boot, sent flying with a loud "KYAAA!!!" as the attacker lands on the deck.

The tall officer barks "LEARN YOUR PLACE!!!" while a short-haired woman covers her mouth in alarm. Luffy is sent flying across the deck, his straw hat knocked off and tumbling through the air. In the next instant he springs back upright with a determined "HMPH!", delivering a powerful punch that sends the officer flying with impact effects "ビュン" and "ビュン" as the crowd reacts in astonishment.

Luffy stands casually adjusting his hat, saying "AAAH, THAT SCARED ME." while a young woman asks "WHAT JUST HAPPENED...I". The tall officer, now terrified, yells "WHA-" and "COME OUT HAMMER ---!!!" as he swings a massive hammer. The surrounding crowd stares in disbelief, with one exclaiming "IS IT BLACK MAGIC!I IS HE A BLACK MAGIC USER LIKE THE CAPTAIN ~~~!!I" and another shouting "H-HE BOUNCED BACK THE BULLETS ---!!!" amid large sound effects and motion lines.

A massive pirate swings his spiked club down at Luffy, who is knocked to the deck with a crash. Luffy's eyes flash with fury as he rises. "I'M GONNA GET MAD." The surrounding pirates recoil in shock. "NO WAAAY!!!!" someone screams. In the next panel Luffy crouches low, fist drawn back. "CLIMBING UP THERE IS USELESS," he mutters. The pirate with the club yells back, "WHAT!!I YOU STARTED IT. GET AWAY FROM ME, YOU MONSTER!!!" while the crew panics around them.

Luffy's arm rockets forward in an impossible stretch, the limb elongating across the deck. The pirate's eyes bulge in terror. "BUH!!!I" he blurts as the giant fist slams into him, sending the man flying backward in a blur of motion and impact lines.

From the ship's railing, Luffy's fully extended arm hurls the pirate in a long arc through the sky, the man tumbling helplessly far out to sea. Luffy leans forward with a determined grin, straw hat shading his eyes as the crew stares in disbelief below.

Luffy's arm snaps back into place with a loud "GWE!" The watching pirates gape. "HIS ARM STRETCH-ED~~~~!!!" one cries. A girl stares wide-eyed. "WHAT IS THIS GUY!!!I" another shouts. In the wide splash panel the entire crew panics on the broken deck. "A-ARE WE HAVING A DREAM!!I" they yell as Luffy stands calmly atop the wreckage.

Luffy stands with hands on hips as background pirates react in shock. One shouts, "SO I TOLD YOU I ATE THE GOMU GOMU FRUIT, RIGHTI" while another asks, "ISN'T IT FUNNYI" Coby stares in disbelief, stammering, "W-WHAT ARE YOU...!I" Luffy then stretches his cheeks and jaw dramatically with both hands, declaring, "IN EXCHANGE FOR BEING A HAMMER FOREVER... I'M A HEAD-TO-TOE RUBBER MAN." The surrounding pirates recoil in horror, one yelling, "R-RUBBER MAN!!!I"

Luffy and Coby stand on the deck as the pirate captain, riding a large bird, shouts, "YOU STRETCH YOURSELF THERE FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE." The captain adds, "I GOT THE TREASURE I WANTED. YOU DON'T NEED TO CALL ME CAPTAIN. I HAVE NO USE FOR THIS SHIP ANY MORE." He waves goodbye with, "BUT I'M GOING TO EXCUSE MYSELF NOW. I WAS DISGRACED A LITTLE AT THE END." The crew watches from the railing. Below, a massive crew member bursts through the hull, roaring, "FARE WELL, RUBBER MAN!!!" as the ship begins to break apart.

The ship explodes violently in a massive blast of water and debris. The captain yells, "SINK WITH THE SHIP!!!" as he flies away on his bird. Crew members scream in panic: "WHY US, TOO!!!I" "CA-CA-CAPTA-AAIN!!!" Luffy and Coby are thrown into the churning sea. Luffy cries, "I'LL DROWN!!!" while Coby shouts, "UWAH, WATER~~~!!! BAL-LOON!!!"

Luffy and Coby wash ashore amid splintered ship wreckage. A voice cries, "HELP ME." and "BASTARD SPIEL!!!" A large crew member emerges from the debris, gasping, "TH-THANK YOU, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I-I'M SAVED!!!" while another yells, "BU-BABE-BAAAH!!" Coby kneels beside the unconscious Luffy and realizes, "SO THAT'S WHAT HE'S AFTER!!! A ROC'S BLOOD IS SAID TO CARRY MAGICAL POWER. BALLOON IS THE LAST ROC." Luffy wakes with a start, muttering, "...HEY."

A tear-streaked girl with short hair and hair clips cries out desperately, "AS LONG AS I'M HERE, BALLOON WILL KEEP COMING BACK HERE!!!!" She adds, "THAT'S WHY I WAS KID-NAPPED." In the next panel Luffy, wearing his straw hat, shouts from the side, "IT'S NOT OVER YET!" The girl continues with fierce determination, "EVEN IF HE WEREN'T SPECIAL, HE'D STILL BE MY BEST FRIEND!!! I WISH HE WEREN'T MAGICAL OR RARE!!!" Luffy leans in close with a wide, confident grin and tells her, "HE'S YOUR TREASURE, RIGHTI DON'T GIVE UP."

Luffy leaps into action on the ship's rigging, gripping a thick rope as he swings wildly. "...!! WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO!I" someone yells. Massive springs and pulleys stretch and snap with loud SFX "はっ", "KSHH", and "ぐるん". Luffy grunts "MUNH!" while pulling with all his strength. The girl watches from below with wide, shocked eyes as the entire mechanism launches upward. "FLY!!!!" the narration erupts as the rope and platform rocket skyward amid heavy motion lines.

The chapter title "ROMANCE DAWN" appears at the top. A flamboyant man in a bicorne hat rides a giant bird through the clouds, laughing, "I KNOW HOW TO MAKE AN EXIT! AH HA HA HA, I'M SO GREAT!" Below him another man sweats nervously, thinking, "IT WON'T DO ME ANY GOOD. EVEN IF I FIGHT A MONSTER LIKE THAT..." The girl stares upward in awe, declaring, "ALL I NEED IS THE ROC'S BLOOD." Enormous impact lettering "ぐわッ" and radiating speed lines fill the right side of the page as the roc soars higher.

The man in the bicorne protests, "WE'VE ALREADY COME THIS FAR..." while the girl struggles, "HEY HEY, STOP STRUGGLING." The roc shrieks "GWEE-EEEEEH!!" A frantic close-up shows a young boy with messy black hair, wide terrified eyes, and heavy sweat drops as he clutches his head. He screams, "MY TREASURE!!!" while another voice orders "DON'T TOUCH". YOU'LL UNDERSTAND ONE DAY!!" as the old man bursts into laughter "BWA HA HA HA HA HA!!" and Luffy reacts "HUH!I IT'S NOTI"

A time-skip panel shows young Luffy lounging relaxed with his straw hat, declaring "I WILL." Narration boxes read "A FEW YEARS LATER," and "A PIRATE NAMED "STRAWHAT LUFFY"".
