Suddenly, a loud voice booms from down the street: "LISTEN TO ME!!". Shiruku looks annoyed and mutters, "GYARI?". Luffy casually replies, "YEAH." Picking his nose, Luffy asks, "WHO'S THAT? WHAT A WEIRD NAME." Shiruku points at him angrily, "WAS HE REALLY NOT THERE? ISN'T HE THE CAPTAIN OF THAT SHIP YOU CAME IN ON!". Down the street, Gyari is screaming furiously, his face contorted with rage. "I WON'T FORGIVE YOU, YOU INSECT GATHERING BASTARD!!!" he roars. "THE MAN WHO CAN MAKE EVEN A CRYING CHILD SHUT UP, GYARI, IS ME!!!". Hearing this, Shiruku looks shocked and sweats, realizing, "EH... GYARI?!". Luffy looks toward the yelling pirate and casually recalls, "AH. HE DID SAY HIS NAME, DIDN'T HE?". In the distance, Gyari continues to fume, yelling, "YOU PISS ME OFF".

Shiruku is terrified, sweating as she realizes who they are facing: "CRESCENT MOON GYARI?!!". Gyari laughs menacingly (SFX: *GAHAHAHA*) and taunts her, "THAT'S CORRECT, LITTLE GIRL! ARE YOU SCARED!!". He adds a dark promise: "AH, HOLD ON. AFTER I KILL THIS GUY, I'LL HELP MYSELF TO ALL THE TREASURE IN THIS TOWN!!". One of Gyari's crew spots Luffy and points, yelling, "WHAT WERE YOU SAYING! HE'S RIGHT HERE!!". Others chime in, "OHHH, YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT HIM...", "I CAN SEE THAT!!", and "HE'S HERE." Shiruku turns to Luffy in disbelief, asking, "JUST WHAT DID YOU DO TO THEM!? THEY'RE SO ANGRY!!". Luffy replies calmly, "THEY CAME ATTACKING ME FIRST. THAT 'WEIRD MUSTACHE'." Suddenly, two of Gyari's pirates charge forward with their swords drawn, shouting, "GO!!!" and "SLICE HIM APART!!!!".

Seeing the armed pirates charge, Shiruku yells at them, "YOU COWARDS! ATTACKING AN UNARMED OPPONENT!!". However, Luffy steps in front of her, extending an arm to shield her. "IT'S FINE, I DON'T USE A WEAPON," he says confidently. "STAND BACK FOR A SEC." Shiruku looks at him in surprise, uttering, "EH". In a dynamic action sequence, the two pirates swing their swords viciously at Luffy. Luffy effortlessly leaps into the air, twisting his body acrobatically to dodge the sweeping blades. The pirates miss completely, one of them looking shocked (!!). Luffy lands gracefully on his feet (SFX: *TAP*). As a pirate grunts "NU" in surprise, Luffy looks back over his shoulder at them. "YOU GUYS STARTED THIS," he states. He then prepares to counterattack, his right arm suddenly stretching backward with a swift motion (SFX: *STRETCH*).

Luffy stretches his arm back incredibly far, preparing a powerful punch. He swings his elongated arm forward, and his fist slams hard into the stomach of the pirate he's fighting. The impact is massive, accompanied by a large action line effect. The pirate yells, "BUBEH!!!" as he is sent flying. In the panel below, Luffy stands with his arm still stretched out across the street, his fist embedded in the defeated pirate off-screen. Shiruku watches the impossible sight in shock, exclaiming, "!!!?".

Shiruku stares in disbelief, stammering, "WHA... WHAT JUST...!! HIS ARM... STRETCHED." Luffy turns back with a confident smile, holding up his fist, and says, "THEY'RE DOWN, HUH?". Meanwhile, Gyari is furious, yelling at his defeated crew, "WHERE ARE YOU AIMING!!! WHERE!? AT YOU OF COURSE, IDIOT!!! YOU REALLY PISS ME OFF!!! AHHH!!!". Luffy stands casually and addresses Gyari, "I TOLD YOU I ATE THE GOMU GOMU FRUIT, RIGHT? SURPRISED? BECAUSE OF THAT, I...". Before he can finish, Gyari draws a pistol and fires directly at Luffy, screaming, "JUST DIE ALREADY!!". The bullet hits Luffy squarely in the forehead, but instead of piercing him, it stretches his rubbery skin far backward, knocking his straw hat off his head.

The bullet continues to stretch Luffy's head backward. Gyari laughs maniacally at his apparent victory, "GYAHAHAHAHAHA!!". Shiruku screams in horror, holding her face, "KYAAAAA!!". A side view shows Luffy's head stretched impossibly far back, his hat falling through the air behind him. Suddenly, Gyari's laughter stops as he looks on in shock, sweating profusely. The bullet reaches its limit and bounces back out of Luffy's stretched head with a loud *boing* sound effect. Gyari is terrified. Luffy snaps back to his normal shape, looking slightly annoyed, and grunts, "FUHN!!!".

Shiruku looks confused but relieved, uttering, "...!!?......". Gyari is sweating profusely, staring at Luffy in disbelief. He realizes, "PISTOLS DON'T WORK EITHER...!!!". Luffy stands casually, his hat back on his head, and remarks, "AHHH THAT SURPRISED ME." Terrified, Gyari and his crew turn and run away as fast as they can, screaming, "WE'LL REMEMBER THIS, DAMNIT!!! AAAAAAA". A close-up shows Gyari's panicked face as he yells, "AAA AAA AAA AAH!!!". Luffy watches them flee, then stretches his cheek with his hand, smiling broadly. He explains to Shiruku, "LIKE I WAS SAYING, MY WHOLE BODY IS RUBBER. IT'S THE TRADE OFF FOR NEVER BEING ABLE TO SWIM. COOL, RIGHT?".

Shiruku mutters, "HARD TO BELIEVE...", as Luffy runs off down the street, saying, "I'LL CATCH THEM." Elsewhere, Gyari and his crew are running away, panting heavily. Gyari looks back and yells, "GEH!! HE'S COMING AFTER US...!! DAMN MONSTER!!". Suddenly, Gyari stops, noticing a commotion ahead. "AH? OH, IT'S THAT WEIRD GUY." A cloud of dust and fighting sounds erupt in the street. Gyari watches in confusion, "WAH, WHAT ARE YOU DOING!". The dust clears to reveal the village Headman and the armed villagers cheering victoriously. The Headman declares, "WE CAUGHT HIM! CRESCENT MOON GYARI!!! WE DID IT!!!". However, the person they have tied up tightly with thick rope is actually Luffy. Luffy looks confused, saying, "WHAT". The villagers cheer around him, "WE DID IT!!! WE PROTECTED THE VILLAGE!!".

Shiruku watches from the shore in absolute shock, yelling, "HE FLEW!!!" High in the sky, Luffy flies through the air with his arms outstretched, shouting, "GYARI!!!" and "WAIT FOR ME!!!!" As he approaches the pirate ship, Luffy suddenly inhales deeply, inflating his body into a massive balloon shape. He says, "HAPU" (SFX: BAFU!!). This inflated form acts as a parachute, causing a "DECELERATION" as he nears the ship. He drops down towards the pirate ship, landing heavily on the deck with a loud "SFX: DOFU!". A pirate on board looks up in surprise, "!?"

A pirate on the deck staggers back in shock (SFX: *STAGGER*), yelling, "UOH!? WHAT!!?" Gyari looks panicked and confused, sweating as a crewmate calls out, "CAPTAIN...!!" Gyari demands, "WHAT IS IT!!" A large panel reveals Luffy standing casually on the ship's railing, arms crossed, with a large "SFX: DON!" behind him. Gyari and his crew stare at him in disbelief. Gyari screams, "GEH!!!" Luffy smiles confidently and corrects him, "IT'S NOT GEH." He then introduces himself, "MY NAME'S LUFFY."

Luffy stands on the deck, holding Gyari's crescent moon hat in his hand. He states calmly, "I'LL ALSO TAKE BACK THAT VILLAGE'S TREASURE." Gyari yells back defensively, "WHAT!? THAT SHOULDN'T CONCERN YOU!!!" Luffy holds up Gyari's hat and says, "YOU SMASHED MY TREASURE." Gyari looks nervous, uttering a small "AH". Gyari's fear turns to rage, veins popping on his forehead as he yells, "WHA... WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY, BASTARD...!!!" He tries to regain his confidence, "YOU DON'T SCARE ME ANYMORE...!! HITTING YOU DOESN'T WORK, SHOOTING YOU DOESN'T WORK, BUT..." Luffy grins widely, holding the hat out, and asks, "BY THE WAY, IS YOUR TREASURE" "THIS SHIP?" Gyari completely loses his temper, screaming, "...IF YOU'RE SLICED IN HALF, IT'S OVER! AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, YOU'RE A HAMMER!!! *PROBABLY!!*" He orders his crew, "EVERYONE!! SEND THAT FREAK TO HELL!!!"
