Fortune-Teller Madam Shirley

A large "ドーン" sound effect echoes over the underwater town of Coral Hill in the Ryugu Kingdom. A mermaid swims frantically while shouting "SANJI-CHIN!!". On the path, a fish-man with a sack yells "SANJIII! ARE YOU AWAKEI!". The scene shifts inside a room where Sanji lies pale in bed connected to an IV bag labeled "S". A short-haired mermaid explains, "YOU'RE IN THE HOUSE OF SOME FRIENDS OF MINE, IN THE PORT TOWN......!! SANJI-CHIN, YOU LOST ALMOST ALL THE BLOOD IN YOUR BODY!!". Sanji weakly asks, "...WHERE... AM I...I". A small octopus-like creature replies, "THANK GOODNESS......!!".

Sanji, still in bed, says "YOU GUYS... DID THAT FOR ME...I!!! THANKS...". A fish-man in armor replies, "I THOUGHT YOU WEREN'T GONNA MAKE IT FOR A MOMENT THERE!!". The mermaid adds, "WHY WOULDN'T ANY OF THE FISHMEN DONATE AT ALL...I WE RAN ALL THROUGH TOWN, BUT THERE WERE NO HUMANS IN SIGHT...". Sanji notes, "I... LOST ALL MY BLOOD...I! WHAT... HAPPENED TO ME...I". The mermaid reassures, "I'M SO RELIEVED WE MANAGED TO FIND A BLOOD DONOR IN TIME...". A fish-man in a hat says, "PLEASE, NO NEED TO THANK US! OH YEAH, SANJI!! THESE ARE THE DONORS WE FINALLY MANAGED TO FIND AT A LOCAL BAR...". Sanji reacts in shock, "HM...I! DON'T TELL ME I RECEIVED BLOOD FROM A FRAGILE LADY...I!". The mermaid warns, "IF YOU LOSE ANY MORE BLOOD, YOU MIGHT REALLY DIE...!!". Sanji screams, "AAAAAHHHHH HH!! NO, NO, DON'T TRY TO REMEMBER!!!". The Pirate Twins Splash and Splatter appear, one shouting "AAAAAARRRGGHH HHHHHHHHHH!!!" while the other declares, "YOU CAN HAVE MORE IF YOU'D LIKE! THINK NOTHING OF IT, SILLY!!" with a heart symbol. A sign reads "PIRATE TWINS SPLASH AND SPLATTER".

Chopper, wearing a hat, exclaims, "WHATI! ARE YOU ALL RIGHTI!". Luffy, sitting up, says, "NOW YOU MENTION IT, I DID FEEL A NASTY SENSATION WHEN I WAS FIGHTING THOSE FISHMEN...!!". Chopper checks, "THE TOXIN CHECK'S POSITIVE! I KNEW IT... THERE'S POISON IN THAT WOUND!! LUFFY! COULD I TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR RIGHT ARMI". Luffy responds with a question mark. Chopper advises, "TRY SAYING 'THANK YOU'...". Luffy recalls, "THAT'S NOT SOMETHING TO LAUGH ABOUT!...WHEN I ALMOST DIED FROM BEING POISONED! AHAHAHAH... OH, WELL... THERE WAS THAT TIME IN IMPEL DOWN...". Chopper analyzes, "IT'S DRIVING THE POISON AWAY ALREADY...!! THIS IS INCREDIBLE... THIS POISON IS DEADLY...!! AND YET... LUFFY'S BODY SEEMS TO HAVE ANTIBODIES AGAINST IT...". Luffy asks, "HAVE YOU BEEN AFFECTED BY A POISON LIKE THIS BEFOREI!". Elsewhere, a swordsman with tentacle legs stands amid coral, saying, "HE MANAGED TO WITHSTAND MY ATTACK, AFTER ALL. THE SWORDSMAN GUY WITH THE TENTACLE LEGS... HE MUST BE PRETTY STRONG...". Luffy appears in the foreground reacting with surprise.

Hyouzou the blue-ringed octopus merman assassin of the New Fish-Man Pirates lounges with his sword, smoking and complaining. "I accidentally managed to poison that Straw Hat kid... I'm not gonna be popular if he dies... Tch." Nearby voices discuss the chaos: "And what's worse......now then... what nextI With these guys like this... That came from the cove... Tch... Those idiot girls, always causing a racket...!!" Below, mermaids react in alarm. "They were talking about whether or not... I did hear them around here... That scream... It was Ishley and the others, rightI Ishley!!...They should open a barrel..."

Madame Shirley, the mako shark mermaid and owner of the Mermaid Cafe, reclines while smoking her pipe. She addresses the Straw Hats: "Could I ask you to stay out of the room, since you're so beautiful and allI Oh, and you mustn't let Sanji find out that we're at the back of the Mermaid Cafe!" A blonde mermaid thanks her: "Uh-huh! Thank you for lending us your room, Madame Shirley!" In the background, Luffy and others explore. "Hey, big mermaid! What's thisI" "Don't go touching that, now, Straw Hat boys." "Her name's Madame Shirley, Luffy-chin!" A small panel shows Chopper's warning: "His doctor, Chopper-chin, says that something terrible will happen if he finds out where this is, so...!!" Nami smiles nervously: "An unusual prescription indeed... Ahahah..."

Luffy reacts with shock to the fortune-telling setup. "How does that have anything to do with fortune-tellingI!! So do mermaids poopI" Madame Shirley explains: "Oh, I don't do any of that any more... It's better not to know the future... The madame's famous for her prophecies here in Coral Hill. That's a crystal ball, for use in fortune-telling." She continues: "But of course. There have been so few human pirates around lately that we're not seeing much business at any rate. The girls from the cove will be here soon, so we'll be just fine..." Luffy apologizes: "A-apologize to the madame, Luffy-chin! Sorry...!!" The group notices activity: "They're making quite the scene in the cafe right now." "From what I hear, he's run into an old friend." "What's that, Monsieur Pappagg...I He must be really hungry...! I have to deliver Pappagg his clams! Oh!! That reminds me! What kind of way is that to remember...I"

Madame Shirley recounts her past predictions. "It would take forever if I were to go through everything she's predicted... But just recently, things like the war at Marineford... And the death of Captain Whitebeard... She predicted them all. I think she's become a little fed up of seeing all these terrible things in advance... And the year after that, the Great Pirate Age began. But back when the madame was younger... she said that 'lots of pirates will be coming to this island'... I didn't want to mention this back there..." The group reaches Coral Hill. "Take a look!! Just over here is the Coral Hill main street! He said he'd stay behind, keep an eye on Sanji! Hm...I Where's ChopperI Come on, Luffy-chin, Usopp-chin - it's this way! That's pretty scary..." They arrive at the entrance. "This is the entrance to the Mermaid Cafe!! Whoaaa! I'm feeling hungry already!! It's a cafe, not a restaurant!! There's plenty of food, too! We have cakes, and ocean fruits... What about meatI"

At the Mermaid Cafe, a loud voice yells "OHHHH YEAHHH!!!" while another protests "I'M TALKING ABOUT REAL MEAT!!!" Luffy shouts "LET'S JUST GO INSIDE, YEAHI!I!" as the group argues over food. Nami explains "SHELLFISH ISN'T MEAT!!! WHAT DO YOU TAKE ME FORI!I!" and suggests scallop sandwiches and kombu soufflé. Brook and the others react with shock. Suddenly, a familiar voice cries "HATTY!!! NOSEY!!! I'VE MISSED YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!!" as Camie bursts in, spotting Luffy and the crew. "Luffy-san!! And if it isn't Caimie-san, as well!!!" someone exclaims. Brook yells "AHHHHH - BROOK!! SO THIS IS WHERE YOU WERE!!!" while Luffy stares in surprise. Camie clings to them emotionally as the cafe erupts in chaos with hearts and excited reactions. Brook laughs "YOHOHOHO!! BUT OF COURSE I WILL, MY BEAUTIFUL MERMAIDS!!" while someone warns "HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!!!"

Nami questions the loud fish-man: "WHAT, YOU EXPECT A MAN AMONG MEN LIKE ME TO LIVE ON SEAWEED AND SHELLFISHI!" He roars back about sea-monster meat. Luffy grins excitedly as Pappag calms things down. They decide to visit the Mermaid Cafe. Inside, Camie serves "CAIMIE'S DELICIOUS CLAM!" while the fish-man complains it's shellfish. A wanted poster appears, and the group reacts in shock: "WHAT'S THATI! YOU MET VANDER DECKENI!I!" "OH, RIGHT... THE GUY FROM THE GHOST SHIP WE MET ON OUR WAY HEREI" "WHY IS THERE A GHOST ON A WANTED POSTERI!" "AHHHHHH!! IT'S VANDER DECKEN!!!" The crew stares at the poster labeled "DANGER VANDER DECKEN IX" as a fish taxi pulls up outside.

The crew discusses Vander Decken's obsession with Princess Shirahoshi. Nami explains how he sent love letters and marriage proposals with blackmail. Luffy lounges while listening. They learn the princess was terrified and the princes searched everywhere but couldn't find him. Pappag adds details about the cursed pirate from hundreds of years ago and the Sea God Neptune. A fish taxi arrives with the sign "FISH TAXI". The conversation continues about the Flying Dutchman legend and how the current captain is a descendant. The group rides through the streets past buildings and coral as they head deeper into Fish-Man Island.

Pappag notes that Vander Decken IX is the descendant. Camie feels relieved it's not the real ghost. They spot a merfolk family with a mer-baby and fish-boy in a stroller. Luffy smiles and comments on the different races and colors of people. "MAN, THIS PLACE IS COOL!" he says. The group continues riding the fish taxi past coral buildings and a large structure labeled "SWEET FACTORY". Someone notices a pirate flag on a building and questions it. The taxi speeds along the fast lane as the crew takes in the sights of Fish-Man Island.

A massive close-up shows Big Mom's grinning skull-like face as someone explains: "BETTER KNOWN AS BIG MAM - ONE OF THE YONKOU!" The speaker continues, "YOU'LL SEE FLAGS LIKE THAT ONE AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE ISLAND, AND IN THE PORT, AS WELL. IT'S THAT FLAG THAT'S PROTECTING OUR ISLAND RIGHT NOW!! THE FLAG BELONGS TO A PIRATE FROM THE NEW WORLD, NAME OF CHARLOTTE RINLIN!" In return, Big Mom expects huge monthly deliveries of sweets from the island. Without her protection the country would collapse under pirate attacks. Luffy listens intently, then grins and exclaims, "BIG MAM, HUH... A YONKOU, JUST LIKE SHANKS... I'D LOVE TO MEET HER SOMEDAY..." He adds that to Big Mom it's like a business deal, comparing her to Whitebeard.

The group arrives by taxi at Gyrovalley Hills. Luffy spots a grand mansion and shouts, "UH-HUH! THAT BIG MANSION RIGHT IN FRONT OF US......IS PAPPAG'S HOUSE!!...HE OWNS THATI! THIS LITTLE STARFISHI!" The taxi driver points out the area. Suddenly a mermaid cries out in panic, "THAT'S THE MADAME FROM THE MERMAID CAFE'...!!" Madame Shirley appears, clutching her head and screaming, "IT'S TERRIBLE... TOO TERRIBLE... WE MUST CHASE HIM FROM THIS LAND!! WE HAVE NOT A MOMENT TO LOSE!!!...WE MUST FIND HIM AT ONCE...!!! THE PIRATE BOY... THE BOY WITH THE STRAW HAT...!!!!" Luffy stares in shock as she collapses in distress.

Shirley collapses in terror, tears streaming down her face. She gasps, "I DID NOT MEAN TO SEE AGAIN... BUT I FELT SOMETHING FROM THAT BOY... AND I COULD NOT HELP MYSELF... I HAD TO LOOK INTO THE FUTURE...!!!" Her vision shows the Straw Hat boy. She screams the prophecy at the top of her lungs: "FISHMAN ISLAND WILL BE DESTROYED!!! BY HIS HANDS..." Luffy looks on with wide eyes as the devastating prediction echoes. The surrounding characters react with horror at the foretold destruction.
