The Undersea Paradise

A massive fish-man with wild white hair and a long neck roars in fury, "REFUSE...I!!" while gripping a chain. Another speech bubble declares "YOU...". Impact effects and motion lines fill the panel. Below, Luffy glares angrily while holding a rope and shouts, "WHY THE HECK HAVE WE GOTTA BECOME YOUR MINIONS, HUH-I!!" A crewmate beside him cries, "LUFFY!! WE PROBABLY SHOULDN'T PROVOKE THEM...!!" The fish-man leader bares his teeth and declares, "ENEMIES OF ALL FISHMEN!!! THEN IT IS DECIDED! YOU ARE MERE SINFUL HUMANS... YOU REFUSE TO SUBMIT TO THE NEW FISHMAN PIRATES...I!"

Inside the energy room, Franky yells, "FRANKY!! WE'RE GOOD TO GO!!" while a crewmate calls out "SEA LION!!!". A massive sea lion creature with sharp teeth roars "RRRRAAAGHHHHHHH!!!" and lunges at the Thousand Sunny. The ship tilts violently amid bubbles and debris. Luffy shouts "GO!!" and "YOU WANNA FIGHTI!" while Nami screams "AAAG HHHH HHHH!!". Someone yells "THE SUNNY IS A LION, TOO!! WE SHOULD SETTLE THIS PROPERLY SOMEDAY, SEA LION!" as the sea lion attacks the vessel.

The Thousand Sunny launches a powerful attack as Franky shouts "COUP DE BURST!!!". A massive explosion erupts with the sea lion recoiling. Impact text "ベコンッ!!" and "ギキン!!" flash across the panels. Luffy yells "THAT SAILBOAT JUST...!!" while the sea lion gasps "HUHI!!". Crew members shout "HANG IN THERE!! IT'S JUST UNTIL WE REACH FISHMAN ISLAND!!!", "WE'RE GONNA BE SQUASHED!!", "BUEG HHH!!!", and "WE'RE ALMOST OUT OF AIR!!!" as the ship rockets forward through the water.

The coated ship plunges violently into the deep, bubbles exploding around it as the crew screams. "WE'RE GOING INNNNNN!!!" someone yells while another voice cries, "WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THAT SHIPI!!" Luffy leans out wildly, shouting, "I'M COMING, MY BELOVED MERMAIIIIIIIDS!!!" The vessel slams through the outer coating layer. A crew member gasps, "WHA...I!" as Luffy stares in shock, "HUHI!!" The ship begins to spin in the air-filled stretch. A long-haired crewmate shouts, "LET'S GIVE IT ONE FINAL BLAST!!! EVERYBODY HANG ON TIGHT!!!" Another explains the danger: "WHAT'S MORE, THE BUBBLE HAS TWO LAYERS!! AN ORDINARY SHIP WOULD JUST SINK UPON REACHING THIS AIR-FILLED STRETCH!!" The giant outer bubble tears away completely. "AAHHH!!! WE'VE LOST OUR COATING!!! THAT GIANT BUBBLE JUST STRIPPED IT AWAY!!!" the crew cries as the Thousand Sunny tumbles deeper into the sea.

The sea current rips at the uncoated ship with terrifying force. Luffy surfaces briefly, yelling, "SEA-WATER!!!" as massive bubbles and debris swirl. The vessel spins wildly while a fishman-like figure grimaces, "THIS IS ONE INTENSE CURRENT!!!!" The ship is hurled through the raging flow. A distorted scream echoes, "GUAAAAAAAAA AAMBL BRL RBLHLLLH GLHH....!!!" as the crew struggles. Luffy and others are battered by the current. "THIS IS BAD... WE'VE GOT FOUR DEVIL FRUIT USERS ON BOARD...!!!" someone shouts. Chopper cries out in panic, "MBNMDD LALLARG HHHH!!!" while another voice groans, "MMBRLG GHH...!!!" The Thousand Sunny is tossed helplessly deeper into the crushing underwater torrent.

The violent current scatters the Straw Hats. Nami, Robin, Usopp, and Chopper tumble through the water amid bubbles and debris. A voice calls out desperately, "...!!! NAMI-SAN... ROBIN-CHAN...!!!" Hands reach through the swirling sea as the crew fights to stay together. Luffy is swept along, eyes wide. "DAMMIT!! I CAN'T FIGHT THIS CRAZY CURRENT...!!!" he shouts. The group is pulled in different directions, weapons and items floating away. The raging flow drags everyone deeper into the unknown depths of Fish-Man Island's entrance.

Underwater, fish swim past ancient ruins as two fishmen watch the coated ship vanish into the distance. One asks, "SHOULD WE GO AFTER 'EM, HAMMONDI FOLLOW 'EM INI" The other replies, "THAT'S ONE OUTRAGEOUS ENTRY!! COULD SERIOUSLY BACKFIRE ON 'EM, TOO..." Aboard a massive sea creature, a fishman with a feathered collar and hat declares, "THAT SAID, WE SHOULD RETURN TO NOAH FIRST. THE BOSS NEEDS TO HEAR ABOUT THIS... BUT WE CAN'T HAVE THE NEPTUNE ARMY GETTING TO 'EM BEFORE WE DO." Another fishman adds, "OUIIII! I DON'T KNOW WHETHER THEY'LL HAVE SURVIVED OR NOT..." In the shadows below, a massive maw opens as a voice announces, "'STRAW HAT' HAS ARRIVED...!!!" and another states, "THAT THE PIRATE WHO SHATTERED ARLONG-SAN'S AMBITIONS..."

Deep beneath the waves, the sprawling architecture of Fish-Man Island stretches across the ocean floor. A large group of fish-men and merfolk stare in shock at a bed. "HEY!" one shouts. "I THINK HE DID!" "DID HE JUST MOVEI!" "HE DID!!" "I THINK I SAW!" "SO WHAT IF HE DIDI!" "HE DID NOT!!" "LOOK AT THAT!" "I SAW!!" "I SAW NOTHING!!" Suddenly Luffy bolts upright with wide eyes. "AH!! LUFFY-CHIN!!" someone cries. In the center panel the group erupts in joy: "HE'S AWAKE!!!" Luffy looks around dazed. "HUHII" A fish-man with a star shirt laughs weakly, "HAH... HAH... HMI!" while another figure vomits violently, "BLEAHHH!!" and a third screams, "AAAHHH HHHHHH!!!"

Luffy's face lights up with pure delight. "CAIMIE, IT'S YOU!! I HAVEN'T SEEN YOU IN FOREVER!!!" Camie beams back, "AHHHH!! I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE ALL RIGHT!! HOW ARE YOU FEELINGI" She continues, "I'M SO SORRY! I MEANT TO GO OUT AND MEET YOU, BUT I GOT THE DATE MIXED UP BY A MONTH..." "YOU'RE EVEN CUTER THAN YOU WERE BEFORE! CAIMIE-CHAN!" The group recalls how the mermaids saved them from drowning. "THE MERMAIDS SAVED US ALL FROM DROWNING!" "WE SURE HAVE!!" "HAVE WE REACHED FISH-MAN ISLANDI" "THERE'S NO POINT HIDING IT... ALL THREE OF US WERE PASSED OUT UNTIL A FEW MOMENTS AGO." Camie stands proudly among cheering mer-children as motion lines swirl around them.

Inside a bright, circular house, Luffy looks around. "I SEE..." "I HOPE THE OTHERS ARE OKAY!!" "THAT'S THE THING - IT LOOKS LIKE WE'VE BEEN SPLIT UP AGAIN!!" "I SEE! WHERE ARE THE OTHERSI" Camie hands him a hat. "HERE, HAVE YOUR HAT BACK. THIS IS CAIMIE-CHAN'S HOUSE!" "WELL, I'M SURE THEY'LL PULL THROUGH SOMEHOW." At the table the crew receives bowls. "AHHH!! CHILLED SOUP ISN'T GOING TO WARM YOU UP AT ALL!!!" "HERE - I'M SURE YOU'RE ALL FREEZING COLD, HAVE SOME SOUP TO WARM YOURSELVES UP!" "IT'S CHILLED WAKAME SOUP!! I'M SURE YOU'LL LIKE IT!!" "CHILLED SOUP...I" Nami notes, "'BONES' ISN'T GOING TO BE MUCH USE UNDER THE SEA... BUT THEY'VE GOT 'ROBO' AND 'GREENIE' AS WELL. THEY'LL BE FINE." Camie adds, "I MANAGED TO KEEP TRACK OF THEM FOR A WHILE, BUT IT LOOKS LIKE US FOUR ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO WASHED UP ON THE SEABED." The crew changes clothes amid laughter and hearts. "OH, YOU DRIED OUT OUR CLOTHES FOR US! THANKS! WHAT ARE YOU, ANYWAYI" "THEY'RE MY FRIENDS." "THEY'RE DRY, AREN'T THEYI!" "THEY'RE NOT DRY YET!!" "THEY'RE ALL DRY!!" "YOUR CLOTHES ARE DRY!!" THERE ARE TONS OF BEAUTIFUL MERMAIDS THERE." "G... GIRLS' DORMI! M - M - MERMAID CAFE!!" Camie points cheerfully, "THIS IS THE GIRLS' DORM FOR MERMAID CAFE IN THE CITY, SO I HAVE LOTS OF FRIENDS HERE! AND YOU'RE AT THE BOTTOM OF MERMAID COVE!" Nami smiles, "WE SHOULD HEAD ON UP - I'LL INTRODUCE YOU TO MY FRIENDS!" Sanji collapses dramatically, "...ISN'T IT ABOUT TIME... He plants his face on the floor while Luffy and others watch. "HE'S SURE TAKING THIS SERIOUSLY." "HE RESII IISTED!!!" "I WILL NOT FALL!!!"

The Straw Hats ride upward inside a transparent bubble carried by a massive sea turtle labeled ELEVATOR. Excited voices ring out: "YEAH, A SEA-TURTLE ELEVATOR!!" "IT'S A TURTLE!!" "TAKE US UP, WOULD YOU, TURTLE-CHINI" Below, the group discusses the area. "YEAH, PROTECTING THE SUNNY, RIGHTI!" "I HEAR HE'S PRETTY MUCH RECOVERED NOW... BUT YEAH, HE ORIGINALLY COMES FROM THE FISHMAN DISTRICT, SO THAT'S WHERE HE'S BEEN RECUPERATING." A woman explains, "THE PRICES UP NEAR THE TOP WHERE THERE'S MORE LIGHT. THIS IS AN UNDERWATER APARTMENT BUILDING." "OH, SO YOU'RE PRETTY POOR, HUHI WHERE ARE HACHI AND PAPPAGG, ANYWAYI" "OH, WELL, HACHIN WAS INJURED REALLY BADLY ABOUT A YEAR AGO..." The massive gate reads FISHMAN ISLAND; MERMAID COVE as the crew arrives in a dazzling underwater city filled with mermaids, fish-men, and sea creatures. A mermaid asks, "YOU DIDN'T COME IN THROUGH THE ENTRANCE, DID YOUI" Another smiles, "ARE YOUR FRIENDS ALL BETTER NOWI THOSE DROWNING PIRATES!" Camie waves, "HELLO THERE!! YOU DON'T SEEM VERY FRIGHTENING." Nami replies, "ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTSI HOW WILD!! I HAVE A THING FOR PIRATES, YOU KNOW!" The group swims through glowing coral and bubble roads. Luffy stares in awe while a mermaid explains, "BUT HE'S YOUR PET, RIGHTI WHY DON'T YOU LET HIM LIVE THERE TOOI" "I'M GOING TO TAKE HIM SOME CLAM TODAY, SO YOU CAN COME ALONG!" "HE'S A SUPER-FAMOUS DESIGNER, SO HE LIVES IN THIS BIG MANSION IN THE MOST UPMARKET AREA OF ALL, GYOVALLEY HILLS." They reach the surface inside a giant bubble. "BOTH THE FISH AND THE RESIDENTS USE THEM TO GET AROUND... TAKE A LOOK!" "AHHH!! WE'VE REACHED THE SURFACE!!" "HEY, CAIMIE!!" "THAT LOOKS LIKE FUN!!" "AH! YOU GUYS!!" A panicked fish-man shouts, "HMI! HANG ON... WHY IS THERE A SKY AND CLOUDS ALL THIS WAY DOWN IN THE OCEANI!" "SEEI!! THIS WAY, WE CAN SWIM EVEN ABOVE WATER!!" "WHO OOOAA AAA!!"

Sanji bursts into tears at the sight of the mermaid cove. "WOW, HE'S CRYING EVEN MORE THAN WHEN HE LEFT THE BARATIE..." "WHOAAAAA!! IT'S LIKE SOMETHING RIGHT OUT OF A FAIRYTALE!!!" "A BEACH OF CORAL!! A COVE OF MERMAIDS!!" "SANJI'S BURST CRYING!!!" The crew introduces themselves. "I'M A REINDEER!!" "AND THE TANUKI IS CHOPPER-CHIN!" "THE BIG-NOSED ONE IS USOPP-CHIN..." "I'VE FOUND IT!! THIS IS ALL BLUE!!!" "THE CRYING ONE IS SANJI-CHIN." "EVERYONE, THIS IS THE CAPTAIN, LUFFY-CHIN!" A small fish-man asks, "UH, ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT, SANJI...I" In another panel a fish-man growls, "HE'S GONE NEGATIVE!!!" while Sanji weeps, "TODAY... MUST BE THE DAY I DIE...!!!!" "I SEE...!! The crew examines a large barrel that floated in with them. "WHO KNOWS...I IT SEEMS TO BE VERY TIGHTLY SEALED..." "ALCOHOLI TREASUREI" "WHAT ON EARTH COULD BE IN THIS BARREL THAT CAME FLOATING IN ALONG WITH CAIMIE'S FRIENDSI" "HAHAHAHAH AHA!! YOU'RE PRETTY FUNNY SOMETIMES, SANJI!" "AHH...!! NOW I'M STARTING TO TEAR UP, TOO!!! ACCEPT THE HAPPINESS OF, SANJI!!" A mermaid declares, "THIS ISLAND IS THE PARADISE YOU'VE BEEN DREAMING OF, ISN'T IT!!" The barrel is labeled "THE DEPTHS; FISHMAN DISTRICT, 'NOAH'". A fish-man growls, "STRAW HAT LUFFY... SO HE HAS FINALLY COME THIS FAR." "...WH... WHAT SHOULD WE DOI" "BOSSI" "INDEED..." "SHOULD WE TRY OPENING ITI" The panel cuts to a monstrous fish-man with a wide grin who roars, "TO ME!!!" "BRING HIM HERE..."
