The Warehouse Under the Bridge

A wide, dramatic shot of the massive circular city of Water Seven rising out of the sea. Water pours from its large gates labeled "1" and "2" as strong winds blow fiercely, indicated by the sound effect "ビュオオオオ" (Byuoooo). Below, a chaotic scene unfolds in the city streets where a massive fire rages, sending thick black smoke billowing into the sky. Citizens run in panic as the fire spreads, accompanied by the sound effect "ザーザー" (Zaa zaa). In the foreground, Kokoro is shown from the side, taking a large gulp from a bottle of alcohol with a "GULP..." sound effect, looking out over the burning city with a grim expression.

Chimney points excitedly towards the massive fire in the distance, shouting, "GRANDMA! GRANDMA! THAT FIRE'S SO HUGE~~~!!" Her pet rabbit-cat Gonbe stands beside her, mimicking her excitement with a loud "NYA!!!". Kokoro, wearing her conductor's hat and holding her bottle, looks on grimly, muttering, "..... That's the Galley-La Headquarters..." In the next panel, showing the exterior of the "BLUE STATION BAR", Chimney asks in disbelief, "WHO'D DO SUCH A THING...!!" while Gonbe adds, "NYA!?". Kokoro replies, "WELL... I'M NOT QUITE SURE..." In the final large panel, Kokoro's face is shown in a serious close-up under her hat. She thinks to herself, "..... HOWEVER... IT SEEMS AS THOUGH MY INTUITION WAS CORRECT. HOPEFULLY..... ICEBERG IS OKAY... THAT 'THING'... SHOULD NEVER BE BROUGHT INTO THIS WORLD."

High above the rooftops of Water Seven, several dark figures leap across the buildings with incredible speed, making "TAP!" and "タタッ...!!" (Ta-ta-ta) sounds. One of the figures asks, "WASN'T FRANKY IN YOUR BAR EARLIER? BLUENO," to which another replies, "YES, BUT HE RAN OFF LOOKING FOR THE STRAW HAT." In the large lower panel, the figures are revealed to be the CP9 agents in their black suits. Rob Lucci leaps forward, holding his top hat with Hattori the pigeon perched on his shoulder. Below him, Kaku with his square nose and Blueno with his bull-horn hair leap alongside him. Lucci remarks, "I SEE. TOO BAD HE DIDN'T JUST SIT TIGHT AND WAIT FOR US."

As they leap across the rooftops, Kaku notices something below, saying, "THERE REALLY IS SUCH A THING AS THE MOST UNFORTUNATE PEOPLE." Lucci responds, "HM?" and Kaku points, saying, "LOOK." Below them on the streets, members of the Franky Family are running and shouting through a megaphone. One of them yells, "LISTEN CAREFULLY, STRAW HAT BRAT---!!" and "WE HAVE THE LONG NOSE GUY!!" while another adds, "YUP! WE HAVE HIM!" Another shouts, "IF YOU DON'T WANT US TO MAKE SUSHI OUT OF SEA URCHINS..." but is interrupted by another family member yelling, "IDIOT!! HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU!? IT'S 'IF YOU DON'T WANT US TO THROW HIM INTO THE SEA!!!'". The first one argues back, "IT'S 'OUT OF SEA URCHINS'!!!" and the other screams, "'INTO THE SEA,' IDIOT!!!" In the bottom panel, the group of Franky Family members continue their chaotic bickering. One yells, "FINE! YOU DO THE YELLING THEN!" while another says, "YOU HAVE A REALLY CRAPPY MEMORY!" One of them shouts into the megaphone, "I'M TELLING YOU, HE WON'T HEAR US!!" while another adds, "BIG BRO IS GONNA KICK OUR ASSES!" Finally, they shout the main message: "'IF YOU DON'T WANT HIM THROWN INTO THE SEA, COME TO THE WAREHOUSE UNDER THE BRIDGE. SINCERELY, FRANKY!' THAT'S THE MESSAGE!"

The Franky Family members continue walking down the street, shouting, "COME OUT! COME OUT! STRAW HAT!!" One of them says, "THAT LONG NOSE GUY'S PROBABLY IN THE WAREHOUSE WITH BIG BRO BY NOW..." Another adds, "GETTING A GOOD BEATING, I'M SURE!!" A third says, "OF COURSE! THEY DESTROYED OUR FRANKY HOUSE!" and another yells, "HE MUST BE IN BLOODY HELL RIGHT NOW!" Suddenly, a massive shadow falls over them, and a voice says, "HUH?" with a "スッ" (Su) sound. Standing before them is a tall, imposing figure in a black suit and a mask, blocking their path. The masked figure asks in a deep, threatening tone, "WHO DID YOU SAY... TOOK WHOM TO WHERE?" The Franky Family members react with anger and confusion, shouting, "WHO THE HECK ARE YOU!?" and "AND WHAT'S WITH THAT DEMANDING TONE!? DO YOU KNOW WHO WE ARE!?" Another yells, "YEAH! HAHA!!" and "YOU'RE NOT WORTHY OF OUR TIME..." The masked figure calmly warns them, "IF YOU WANT TO LIVE... YOU HAVE 3 SECONDS TO REPLY."

The Franky Family members laugh off the threat, with one saying, "....." and another shouting, "HUH? HEY, LET'S TEACH THIS IDIOT A LESSON." The masked Lucci stands completely still, his eyes cold behind his mask. He asks, "WHERE IS THIS 'WAREHOUSE UNDER THE BRIDGE'?" and "IS THAT WHERE FRANKY IS?" In the next panel, a caption reads "OLD STREET, WATER SEVEN. THE BIG BRIDGE IN FRONT OF THE NORTH EASTERN GARBAGE PROCESSING PLANT." A massive stone bridge with the number "6" painted on its side spans across the turbulent water. From inside the bridge, a loud scream echoes: "GYAAA AAAAA AAAAH ~~~!!!"

The scene shifts to the interior of the bridge, labeled with a caption: "THE WAREHOUSE UNDER THE BRIDGE (FRANKY'S SECRET BASE)". The scream continues to echo through the stone arches: "GYAAAA AAAAAA AAAAAH ~~~~~!!!" Inside, Franky is crying hysterically, tears and snot streaming down his face as he wails, "~~~ UYA UYAU ~~!!" and "AU, AU, AU, AU, AU..." and "GYAU AUAU AUAU ~~~!!!". Usopp, sitting nearby with bandages on his face, looks completely bewildered and sweatdrops, asking, "WHY ARE YOU CRYING!?" In the bottom panel, Mozu and Kiwi are also crying dramatically, wiping their eyes and wailing, "EEEEEEN! THEN HE LEFT HIS FRIENDS FROM EAST BLUE...!!!"

Franky continues to cry loudly, "うおおお" (Uooo), while holding his hand up defensively, yelling, "I'M NOT CRYING, IDIOT!!" Mozu and Kiwi kneel on the floor, crying "わあーん" (Waaan), as Franky adds, "ALTHOUGH, I AM SLIGHTLY TOUCHED BY YOUR DISPLAY OF IRON WILL IN PROTECTING YOUR SHIP ALONE!!" Usopp, looking extremely annoyed, shouts back, "I'M NOT CRYING! NO ONE IS!!" and thinks, "WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?" In the next panel, Usopp yells, "ANYWAYS, NOW YOU KNOW!!" and "I'M NOT FRIENDS WITH THOSE GUYS ANYMORE!!!" Franky, wearing his sunglasses again, looks at him and says, "THAT'S RIGHT...!!" In the large bottom panel, Franky suddenly grabs his acoustic guitar and starts strumming it passionately, singing, "I HAVE TO SING OF THIS CRUEL, TRAGIC FEELING... 'SEPARATED FROM FRIENDS, NORTH WIND CHOP'..." Mozu and Kiwi dance in the background, striking poses and shouting, "BIG BRO ~~~!!" and "イェーイ!! (Yeah!!)". Usopp, holding a hammer by the Going Merry, screams in frustration, "DON'T MAKE A FOOL OF ME!!"

Franky sits down, looking completely drained, with a caption "ぐったり..." (Guttari - exhausted). He sniffs and says, "AH, I'M EXHAUSTED FROM ALL THAT CRYING... EVEN THOUGH I DIDN'T CRY." Mozu brings him a cup of tea, saying, "PLEASE, HAVE SOME TEA, BIG BRO. CAREFUL, IT'S HOT." Franky sniffs again, "ずびずび" (Zubizubi), and replies, "AH... THANKS." In the next panel, Franky takes a sip of his tea, "SIP", "HFFF...", "SU SU", and says, "..... OK. I UNDERSTAND NOW... SO YOU..." Suddenly, Usopp erupts in anger, slamming his fist down and screaming, "IT'S SO HOT ~~~~!!!! BE QUIET! DAMN IT!!!" with steam rising from his head. In the large bottom panel, showing the spacious interior of the warehouse where the Going Merry is docked, Franky speaks calmly: "I BET YOU HATE US... FOR TAKING YOUR MONEY... AND CAUSING YOU GUYS TO FIGHT... IT WAS INEVITABLE... I DON'T BLAME ANYONE." Usopp looks down silently. Franky then adds, "AH... WELL SAID! BY THE WAY... ABOUT THE TWO MILLION..." Usopp reacts with a "?" bubble.

Franky casually reveals, "I SPENT ALL OF IT!!" with a dramatic "んーーん!!" (Nnnn!!) pose alongside Mozu and Kiwi. Usopp immediately loses his temper, pointing his finger and screaming, "DON'T MAKE ME COME OVER THERE! HOW DARE YOU DO SUCH A THING!! YOU ASS!!!" Franky tries to calm him down, saying, "THAT'S NO GOOD... YOU SHOWED ME YOUR MANLINESS! SO NOW..." In the next panel, Franky smiles warmly and says, "I CAN'T STAY ANGRY... EVEN THOUGH YOU COMPLETELY DESTROYED MY HOME, FRANKY HOUSE... AND YOU BEAT UP MOST OF MY CREW..." Usopp yells back, "BIG BRO!!" and "CALM DOWN!!" in panic. In the bottom panel, Franky sits on a couch with Mozu and Kiwi, saying, "..... SO, ABOUT THAT... LET'S JUST CALL IT EVEN... IN ANY PHASE, LET'S TALK ABOUT WHAT TO DO NOW." Mozu and Kiwi correct him, saying, "IT'S 'IN ANY CASE'." and "IT'S 'IN ANY CASE', BIG BRO."

Franky grins widely, pointing a thumb at himself, and says, "WHAT DO YOU PLAN TO DO NOW? IF YOU HAVE NOWHERE TO GO, I'LL TAKE YOU IN!! BECOME MY FOLLOWER!!! I LIKE YOU!" Usopp flatly refuses, shouting, "NO WAY!!" In the next panel, Usopp declares with fierce pride, "I WON'T BECOME ONE OF YOUR SHIP-DISMANTLERS! EVEN THOUGH I'M SEPARATED FROM MY CREW... I'M STILL A PIRATE AT HEART!!!" In the bottom panel, Franky is touched again and bursts into tears, grabbing his guitar and crying, "AAAH!!!" while Mozu and Kiwi cheer, "BIG BRO ~~~~~!!" Franky starts playing again, singing, "PLEASE LISTEN TO... 'PIRATE VALOR'..." Usopp, holding his hammer, screams in absolute frustration, "STOP MAKING FUN OF ME!!!!"

Franky leans back on the couch, explaining, "SO, THERE'S A HIGH TIDE COMING? YEAH. 'AQUA LAGUNA'. THAT'S WHAT PEOPLE HERE CALL IT." In the middle panel, showing the flooded streets of Water Seven with waves crashing against the buildings, Franky continues, "THE SIDEWALKS IN THE OLD STREETS SHOULD BE UNDER WATER BY NOW... NORMALLY, THE CIVILIAN HOUSINGS WILL BE SUBMERGED FROM THE 2ND FLOOR DOWN. IF YOU'RE CAUGHT IN THE STREET OR ON THE BEACH, YOU WOULD BE LONG DEAD. BUT YOU AND YOUR SHIP WILL BE FINE IN HERE." Usopp looks relieved and says, "AH... THANKS A LOT." Franky waves it off, saying, "DON'T MENTION IT, IDIOT! DON'T MENTION IT!" In the bottom panel, Usopp asks, "ISN'T IT TOUGH, HAVING TO DEAL WITH THIS ALL THE TIME?" Franky replies, "YES, IT'S AN ANNUAL EVACUATION, BUT EVERYONE IS USED TO IT. THE REAL PROBLEM IS THE RISING SEA LEVEL." Usopp asks, "RISING SEA LEVEL?" and Franky confirms, "YES."

Franky explains the history of the city, pointing upwards: "YOU'LL SEE IT IF YOU DESCEND UNDERWATER. THE 'OLD STREET' YOU SEE ABOVE THE WATER... IS BUILT ON TOP OF THE CENTURY OLD BUILDINGS OF THE OLD CITY." In the middle panel, showing a scenic view of Water Seven from the sea, Franky continues, "LONG AGO, THE ZOUSENJIMA AND THE OLD STREET WERE ACTUALLY ONE ISLAND. BUT NOW, THE SEA HAS COVERED THE CITY... ALL THE STREETS HAVE TURNED INTO WATER ROADS." In the bottom panel, showing the warehouse interior again, Franky sits on the couch while Usopp stands near the Going Merry. Franky says, "THOUGH, RATHER THAN SAYING THE SEA LEVEL'S RISING... IT'S MORE ACCURATE TO SAY THE ISLAND IS SINKING. IN TEN YEARS, THE TOWN WILL BECOME EVEN MORE DIFFICULT TO LIVE IN." Usopp looks thoughtful and says, "HUH... SO THERE'S A WHOLE OTHER FACET TO THIS BEAUTIFUL PLACE..."

Usopp asks, "BUT IF IT GETS TOO ROUGH HERE, PEOPLE JUST TAKE THE TRAIN AND LEAVE, RIGHT?" Franky smiles and replies, "LIKELY, YES... BUT BEFORE THE SEA TRAIN, THERE WAS ALMOST NO COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE ISLANDS, DUE TO THE ROUGH SAILING THAT WAS REQUIRED." In the middle panels, Franky continues, "IMAGINE THE RESIDENTS OF THIS LONE ISLAND, AND THINK ABOUT HOW IT WILL ONE DAY BE UNDER THE SEA... THE INVENTION THAT QUENCHED ALL SUCH UNEASINESS IS THE SEA TRAIN, PUFFING TOM!!" Usopp, looking amazed, says, "NOW, WE DON'T EVEN NEED A LOG AND CAN CROSS THE SEA AT ANY TIME. IT'S AN INCREDIBLE INVENTION!" In the bottom panel, Franky's face is shown in profile, a proud smile on his face as he says, "OUR CURRENT WELL-BEING IS ALL DUE TO THE INVENTION OF THE SEA TRAIN... WHICH NEVER WOULD'VE HAPPENED IF IT HADN'T BEEN FOR THE WORK OF THE GREAT SHIP MECHANIC, TOM!"

Suddenly, the peaceful atmosphere is shattered. A massive shadow looms over the warehouse entrance, and a loud "ダダッ!!" (Da-da!) sound of running footsteps is heard. A voice screams, "AH ~~~!!! NOOOOO!!" and "BIG BRO ~~~!!!" In the next panel, one of the Franky Family members, bloodied and beaten, crashes through the door, crying out in agony, "HELP US...!!!" In the large bottom panel, the masked Rob Lucci stands tall and imposing over the defeated Franky Family member lying on the ground. Lucci calmly says, "DON'T WORRY... I'LL SAY HELLO TO YOUR BIG BRO FOR YOU."

Outside the warehouse, the rest of the Franky Family members lie unconscious and bloodied on the ground. The CP9 agents stand victorious. Blueno, Kaku, Kalifa, and Lucci are all present. Lucci, standing in the center, says, "LOCATION ACQUIRED." In the middle panel, close-ups of the four CP9 agents are shown: Blueno, Kalifa, Lucci, and Kaku, all looking cold and determined. Lucci commands, "LET'S MOVE." In the bottom panel, they leap away with incredible speed, leaving behind a trail of dust and a loud "ボッ...!!!" (Bo) sound effect.

Back inside the warehouse, unaware of the danger approaching, Franky asks, "SO... BRO... LET'S GET TO THE BIG QUESTION... WHAT DO YOU PLAN TO DO AFTER YOU FIX YOUR SHIP?" Usopp, looking determined, grins and replies, "I'M GOING TO GO ADVENTURING WITH IT, OF COURSE!!" Franky looks at him silently, "....." and Usopp continues, "THEN, ONE DAY, I'LL RETURN TO MY HOME IN EAST BLUE!!" In the bottom panel, Franky speaks with brutal honesty: "THOUGH I HAVEN'T EXACTLY GONE AROUND THE WORLD... I'VE BEEN IN THE GRAND LINE!! SO THAT SHOULD BE ENOUGH FOR A TRIUMPHANT RETURN!! NO... YOU WOULDN'T MAKE IT!!! IT'S TOO FAR....." Usopp and the girls react with shock, with Usopp letting out a "?!" bubble.

Franky stands up from the couch and walks towards the Going Merry, saying, "BIG BRO...!?" and "WHEN I BROUGHT THE SHIP HERE, I CHECKED IT OUT. THERE'S NO HOPE FOR THE SHIP. GALLEY-LA'S EVALUATION IS CORRECT. IT'S MY PROFESSIONAL RECOMMENDATION AS A DISMANTLER THAT YOU PUT IT TO REST." Usopp, shocked and angry, stands in front of the ship, shouting, "!!? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!?" In the bottom right panel, Franky cracks his knuckles with a serious expression, saying, "LET ME TAKE IT APART FOR YOU." In the bottom left panel, Usopp pulls out his giant slingshot, Kabuto, and aims it at Franky, screaming in a panic, "!!? WHAT'S THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN, JACKASS!!? STOP!!! STAY AWAY!!!"
