Duel on Banaro Island

Top panels show close-ups of Commander Ace glaring with narrowed eyes and a fierce, grinning man identified as the user of the darkness power. Blackbeard's hand stretches forward, tendrils of darkness coiling as he warns, "AND I'LL SHOW YOU ITS POWERS VERY SOON...". The bottom wide panel erupts into chaos: townspeople and pirates flee in panic through collapsing streets, shouting "QUICK!! EVACUATE!! THE CAPTAIN'S GONNA GO WILD!!", "DON'T GET ANY CLOSER!!", "HE KEEPS EMITTING THAT BLACK SMOKE!!", "THEY'RE GONNA DO SOMETHING!!", "SHIT... THOSE PIRATES ARE STILL IN THE TOWN....!". One figure yells "JUST RUN!!" as smoke and debris fill the air.

Blackbeard stands with a fierce glare, his body tense. In the next panel his face twists into a manic grin as dark energy erupts from his hands. "GUGU... NFU FU..." he growls. A massive black sphere explodes outward in the town square, warping the ground and buildings. "ZEAAAH!!!" The impact sends shockwaves through the streets as structures buckle and debris flies. Smaller panels show the spreading darkness swallowing streets while townspeople react in horror with "!!I" and frantic motion lines.

Panicked townsfolk flee through the forest and streets. "AND RUN TO THE COAST!! GO THROUGH THE FOREST!!" "DON'T TOUCH IT!! JUST RUN!!" "THAT'S SCARY!! IT'S SO BLACK, IT'S JUST LIKE A HOLE IN THE GROUND." "THAT'S THE STUFF THAT GUY WAS EMITTING FROM HIS BODY...!!!!" "UWAH!! SOMETHING'S SPREADING ON THE GROUND!!" One man cries, "I FEEL LIKE I'M BEING SUCKED IN. CREEPY." Blackbeard looms over the chaos, declaring, "IT'S A FORCE THAT SUCKS EVERYTHING IN!!! NOT EVEN LIGHT CAN ESCAPE. MY 'DARKNESS' IS 'GRAVITATION'!!!" He faces Ace's silhouette and warns, "I WON'T ATTACK YOU JUST YET...!!! JUST STAY THERE AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS TO THE TOWN...!!!" A close-up shows him grinning wildly: "'GRAVITATION.' IT'S INFINITE."

The gravitational pull of "DARKNESS" draws everything in. Buildings tilt and collapse as the black sphere expands. "BLACK HOLE!!!" Massive debris rains down while the town is sucked into the ground. Townspeople scream, "UWAH!! THE TOWN IS..." "WHY!I WHAT'S GOING ON!I" "BEING SUCKED INTO THE GROUND!" Smaller panels show the relentless "ZUZUZU..." "ZUZU..." "GUGUGU!!" as entire structures vanish. Blackbeard stands amid the ruins, laughing, "NOW, I'LL SHOW YOU THE MISSING TOWN...!!!"

The black sphere erupts violently. "LIBERATION!!!" sends a colossal explosion of rubble, buildings, and smoke blasting outward in every direction. Townspeople stare in shock: "THE TOWN... HAS BEEN COMPLETELY DESTROYED..." Blackbeard throws his head back in triumphant laughter, "ZEHAHAHA-HAHA! SEE THAT, ACE!I THIS IS THE ABILITY I'VE OBTAINED!!!"

Blackbeard stands with flames erupting from his body as he calls out an attack. "HOTARU-BI" he shouts, the fiery projectiles streaking toward Ace. Ace counters with his own blazing technique, yelling "HI-DARUMA"!!! The massive fiery clash erupts in a huge explosion. "GWAA AAH!!!" Ace cries out as the blast engulfs him. In the aftermath, Ace, shirtless and sweating, speaks while catching his breath. "If you have a Logia type, it should've been easy for you to dodge this kind of attack," he says. "...I understand the strength of this 'darkness'... ---but it's strange..." Nearby, Blackbeard is shown burning and shouting "HOT!!! HOT, HOT, HOT!!!"

Ace glares with a serious expression. Blackbeard is slammed into the ground with a "GWAAH!!!" and "JUU!!!" sound as flames and smoke erupt around him. "WUUOO OO!!!" Blackbeard roars while spinning wildly. Ace speaks: "AND MY BODY SUCKS IN 'PAIN' MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE. UNLIKE OTHER LOGIA TYPES, I CANNOT FEND OFF AN ATTACK. THAT FLAW ASIDE, THERE IS ONE MORE THING I CAN DO!!!" Blackbeard, face twisted in rage, replies "I TOLD YOU...!!! THIS DARKNESS SUCKS EVERYTHING IN. ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING, BULLETS, BLADES, PUNCHES, FIRE, EVEN THUNDER...!!!" He then unleashes a massive vortex attack labeled "KURO UZU"!!! while declaring "MY DARK GRAVITATION CAN PRECISELY DRAW IN THE DF USER'S 'BODY.'"

Blackbeard grabs Ace from behind in midair, his hand clamping down hard. "WHAT DO YOU THINKI...YOU'VE PROBABLY NOTICED IT BY NOW, ACE. AND NOW..." he says menacingly. Ace's eyes widen in shock. "CAN'T BE...!!!" he gasps as the grip tightens. In a dramatic close-up, Blackbeard's hand seizes Ace's arm while debris flies everywhere. Ace's expression shows disbelief and pain as the panel erupts with impact lines and the sound effect "!!!I".

Blackbeard continues gripping Ace tightly amid explosions and debris. "IT MUST'VE BEEN A WHILE SINCE YOU WERE LAST PUNCHED...!!! YOU PROBABLY REALIZED IT AS SOON AS I GRABBED YOU!!!" he laughs. "ZEHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" Ace struggles on the ground, bloodied. Blackbeard explains further: "MEANING, WHILE I'M TOUCHING HIS BODY, IS THE 'DEVIL'S POWER'!!! THE DF USER CAN NO LONGER USE HIS ABILITIES!!!...THE OTHER THING THAT MY 'DARKNESS' CAN SUCK IN"

Blackbeard looms triumphantly amid swirling darkness, declaring his advantage: "AGAINST ALL THE DF USERS WHO OVERRATE THEIR OWN ABILITY, I'VE GAINED AN OFFENSIVE ABILITY THAT CAN NEVER BE DEFENDED AGAINST!!!" He identifies the threats around him: "LOGIA...!!! ZOAN... PARAMI-SIA!!!" Ace stands ready in the distance. Blackbeard lunges forward with a massive hand, shouting "KUROUZU"!!! as he attempts to seize Ace. Ace counters, "I'LL JUST PROVE TO YOU THAT YOU CAN'T GET AWAY FROM THE GRAVITATION OF THE DARKNESS!!!...ONLY IF I GET CAUGHT." A narration box explains: "SHINKA MEANS GOD'S FIRE. SHIRANUI IS MYSTERIOUS LIGHTS ON THE SEA." Ace unleashes his attack: "SHINKA SHIRANUI"!!! A fiery projectile streaks toward Blackbeard, who reacts with "BYU BYU!!" as the flames strike and send him flying across the rocky terrain.

The clash intensifies as Ace drives a flaming spear into Blackbeard at point-blank range, the impact marked by "DOS DOS!!" Blackbeard grunts in pain: "GUH...!!!!" and "MEKI!!" while coughing violently. Ace thinks, "GU...!! COUGH. HE ALMOST BROKE MY NECK!!...HE'S A VERY TROUBLESOME ABILITY." Blackbeard retaliates with a massive flame spear of his own, roaring "A FLAME SPEAR!I SHIT!! GWAAAAAH!! HOT!!" The explosion engulfs both fighters in smoke and debris. Ace is hurled backward, gasping "HAA..." as the two continue their brutal exchange amid the chaos.

Blackbeard grins savagely and counters with "JUJI KA"!!!, the cross-shaped blast sending Ace hurtling through the air. A narration notes: "JUJIJIKA MEANS 'HOLY CROSS.' KANJI READS CROSS FIRE." The scene shifts to distant onlookers on a cliff watching the massive explosions. A man with glasses remarks, "--- NOW, TODAY IS YET ANOTHER... OF FATE'S CROSSROADS..." Another figure adds, "BUT NO... NO WONDER HE'S A COMMANDER ON 'WHITEBEARD'S' SHIP. HIS BASIC FIGHTING POWER IS AMAZING...!!!!" A tall man in a cape observes, "I THOUGHT DF USERS WOULD BE TOO CONCENTRATED ON THE DF ABILITY AND WERE WEAK AND PATHETIC ONCE IT'S TAKEN AWAY."

The crowd reacts in shock as massive rocks tumble: "BA-BANANA ROCK... IS FALLING...!!... WHAT'S GOING ON...I NO HUMAN COULD DO THIS." A worried voice asks, "WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN TO THIS ISLAND...I" The tall man in the cape states, "... NOT JUST THE TOWN..." Ace and Blackbeard continue their fierce struggle. Blackbeard taunts, "NOTHING STANDS A CHANCE IN FRONT OF THE 'DARKNESS'!!" while Ace strains under the assault. Blackbeard presses the attack: "EVEN YOUR STRENGTH!... BUT REALLY, IT'S A PITY TO LOSE YOUR POWER...!!! ACE...!! C'MON AND BE MY NAKAMA!!!" Ace grits his teeth amid the smoke and debris as the battle rages on.

Blackbeard looms in close-up, bloodied and intense, declaring, "I WILL NEVER LEAVE ANY REGRETS IN MY LIFE...!!!...GOT THAT, IDIOT!I" and "IF I GIVE INTO THE 'FORCE,' THERE'LL BE NO POINT TO MY LIFE." Below, Ace unleashes his attack as the narration notes "DAI ENKAI MEANS GREAT FLAME COMMANDMENT." Ace shouts "DAI ENKAI"!! while Blackbeard counters with "DIE IN THE DARKNESS, ACE...!!!" and "WHAT A SHAME..." as massive flames erupt. The next panel shows Ace yelling "ENTEI"!! with the note "ENTEI MEANS FLAME EMPEROR," unleashing a gigantic fiery sphere that engulfs the area amid explosive SFX "ドドドドド...!!!"
