At Right Belly Fort on Zou, the Straw Hats and minks hold a lively feast after the crew finally reunites. The scene briefly cuts back to the left foot of Zou, where Kin'emon and Kanjuro are exhausted and decide that they have handled as much as they can for the day, planning to continue tomorrow. At the banquet, the minks offer food and "monkey wine" made from fruits of the beautiful forest. Zoro gets irritated by the minks licking and nibbling at him, snapping, "Lick this, you goddamned creeps!" while Luffy stuffs himself and asks what kind of meat he is eating. Wanda explains that "minkship" is how they show friendship to one another, asking the humans to overlook cultural differences. The feast is warm and chaotic, with minks calling out "Just a little garchu!" and "Just a little glomp-glomp!"

Brook dramatically appears in his Soul King clothing, and the minks cry out in relief. He says he read the newspaper and is glad everyone is okay. Luffy calls to him, but then asks why Brook looks as though he got beaten up. Brook apologizes about what happened to Sanji, saying, "Luffy-saaaaan!! I'm so sorry about what happened to Sanji-san!!! I don't even think I can face you right now!!" then undercuts himself by adding that he does not have a face to begin with. Luffy asks whether Brook was with Momo, and Brook says that Momonosuke is fine, but he really does not do well with the minks. The reunion confirms Brook is alive but immediately returns the conversation to Sanji's unexplained crisis.

Brook says Momonosuke has locked himself in his room and refuses to come out, perhaps for the best. Luffy wonders where Kin'emon is, but Brook urgently warns that as long as they are in this kingdom, they must not mention the words "samurai" or "Wano Kingdom." He says doing so would dig up wounds among the people and may accidentally incur their wrath. The joke about corpses continues when Brook says they found Baron Corpse and Wanda corrects him: her comrade's corpse is in Right Belly Forest. Luffy asks why "samurai" is such a dangerous word, and Brook answers that it is because of this country. The page pivots from comic reunion to the grave secret behind Zou's destruction.

Wanda explains that the canine minks simply adore bones, which is why Brook drew so much attention; they only wanted him out of affection. The nickname "corpse" was therefore seriously misleading, and the crew was genuinely shocked by the existence of such strange beings. Nami interrupts and demands, "Anyways, what are we going to do about Sanji-kun?!" She asks where Trafalgar is, and learns that he is in the Bear Forest. Luffy and Zoro remain oddly calm. Zoro says Sanji sent a letter and will work something out, while Luffy reasons that it is not like he was captured or anything. Nami yells that the situation should be treated with greater urgency, revealing that she is still emotionally shaken by what happened.

Chopper cries that there was nothing they could do, while Nami admits that even she has barely wrapped her head around the current situation. Usopp says their heads are all over the place too: when they last had correspondence with Nami's group, the others had stumbled across Big Mom's ship; then they arrived on Zou and found a city in ruins on an elephant's back, full of talking animals who turned out to be hospitable and friendly because the visitors were comrades of the people they owed their lives to. Robin gently asks Nami to tell the entire story from the beginning, saying they need to understand everything that happened over the course of these eleven days.

Nami agrees that she was being too anxious and begins explaining how it happened. She says that after Luffy's group went ahead to Zou, her group ran into the gigantic flagship of the Big Mom Pirates, the "Singing Ship," in the waters near Dressrosa. Luffy tears up at the memory of the others calling for Sanji, Nami, Chopper, Brook, and Momo. The ship looms with its musical hull and enormous figurehead, making it clear how dangerous the encounter was. This begins the flashback to the Sunny group's escape from Big Mom's forces and the chain of events that ultimately led them to Zou before the rest of the Straw Hats.

Nami explains that the Big Mom forces included the duo Luffy had met on Fishman Island and someone from the Worst Generation, "Capone 'Gang' Bege." Bege had apparently teamed up with Big Mom. Caesar, originally their captive, panicked because this made Big Mom even more fearsome to him. Nami admits that if they had done nothing, it was only a matter of time before the enemy got to them, but they would never have been able to outrun an enemy like that. Brook suggested using Coup de Burst, but with Franky and Usopp absent, he had no idea how to operate it. They instead chose to fight on the stern and create an opening, with Chopper knowing how to fire the Gaon Cannon even though the Sunny was not turning to face the enemy.

Brook unleashes "Soul Parade" and blocks incoming cannonballs, saying he is all Sanji's. Caesar complains that they are using him in all his glory as just some sack and warns that if they do not do what he says, he will leave them to fend for themselves. Brook answers, "Doo-hoo! I'll remember this, you bastards!!!" and continues fighting. Nami attacks with her weather techniques, including "Spectre" and the French-styled "Poele a Frire," sending fiery spheres into the enemy. The battle is frantic, with Brook's soul powers, Nami's weather manipulation, and Caesar's panicked protests all combining to keep the Big Mom ship at bay long enough for the Sunny group to survive.
The counterattack explodes against the Big Mom Pirates' Singing Ship. The ship's starboard side sustains damage, but the enemy responds with a counterattack. Chopper and Nami are shocked that the cannonballs seem to fly and that the weather changes only around the enemy. Nami cries that she has lost sight of the foe in all the mist and fog. She counters with "Weather Egg," "Hatch! Rain Clouds!!!" and "Rain Tempo!!!" trying to control the battlefield with clouds and rain. The page shows the Sunny group fighting desperately with limited crew and no easy escape, relying on Nami's weather skills and Brook's defense while Sanji tries to hold the line.

The flashback reaches their arrival near Zou. The Sunny group made it to Zou the very next day, apparently already close by after the fight. Nami says the city at the center of Zou already had traces of even older damage, and at least two weeks must have passed since that occurred. Wanda explains that the country was already in ruins ten days ago, and that for Nami and the others to have arrived that day was nothing short of a miracle. If not for Nami's courage and Chopper's medical knowledge and training, everyone in Mokomo Dukedom would have died. The minks praise the group, while Nami and Chopper are embarrassed by the attention.

Wanda says that if Nami and Chopper had not arrived, everyone in Mokomo Dukedom would have died and there would have been nothing they could do to stop it. A large mink notes that their wounds are still not completely healed, meaning the tragedy was recent, and says it is fine if they do not want to talk about it because everyone has a right to know in time. Just then a commotion breaks out: "The Duke has awakened!!!" The minks cheer that they did not think he would ever wake up and marvel that he survived after everything he went through. The page reveals that Duke Inuarashi's survival is a major emotional turning point for the minks.

Chopper, called Miyagi-sensei by Tristan, rushes to check on Duke Inuarashi and says this will be another great learning experience. A messenger tells Wanda that Duke Inuarashi sends word and would love to meet the saviors. Wanda, deeply moved, answers that she will come immediately and says she is truly glad. Luffy asks who this Inuarashi is, and the minks react with excitement. The page shows the medical side of the rescue effort, with Chopper treated as a respected doctor among the minks, while the Straw Hats are drawn deeper into the country's leadership and the aftermath of the disaster.

Wanda explains that the country has two kings. Duke Inuarashi is the king of day, the Duke of Mokomo Dukedom, and he has been in a coma since the city was destroyed. The king of night is Master Nekomamushi. She says Inuarashi and Nekomamushi fell into a feud along with the city and have remained that way ever since. Elsewhere in Whale Forest, Law's crew is excited to hear that their captain has arrived and that Luffy defeated Doflamingo. They say the sun is already setting and hurry deeper into the forest. Law quietly notices the name "Drag Drag" on a scrap or sign, while his crew urges him onward to catch up.

Back at Right Belly Fort, Wanda clarifies the timeline: it happened half a month ago, precisely seventeen days earlier. About a month and a half since Bepo and his crewmates arrived, a visitor's bell rang out across Mokomo Dukedom. It was not the bells of welcome, but the one that should not have rung at all: the raid bell. The invaders tore through the forest and marched onward, advancing on the peaceful city. Wanda's account grows darker as she describes the sudden attack, the alarm, and the fact that the country had no reason to expect the kind of violence that was about to descend on it.

Wanda explains the impossible demand made by the enemy: if someone fierce demands something they do not possess, how are they supposed to give it to them? With unusual heavy rumblings reverberating through the ground, Zunisha roared out. The invading force trampled forward like overwhelming giants, and their leader declared, "Now then... bring him forward! We know he's here... The warrior of Wano Kingdom, 'Raizou'...!!" The chapter ends with the minks and Straw Hats staring up at the enormous threat of Jack and his men, realizing that the devastation of Zou began because the invaders believed Raizou was hidden there.
