At Arlong Park, Zoro and Sanji stand back-to-back, facing off against the Fishman officers Hatchan and Kuroobi. Arlong laughs from the sidelines, "SHAHA HAHA!" Hatchan, wielding his multiple arms, laughs, "AHAHA HAHA! WHAT A FUN GAME THIS'LL BE!" Sanji, with a cigarette in his mouth, confidently taunts his opponent, "DON'T THINK YOUR HEAD AND 8 LIMBS WILL STILL BE IN ONE PIECE AFTER I'M THROUGH WITH YOU, OCTOPUS!" Zoro stands ready with his sword, looking tense. A large sound effect emphasizes the standoff. Below them, the water in the pool bubbles ominously, hinting at Luffy's predicament underwater.

Kuroobi crosses his arms and calmly tells Sanji, "HMPH, NO NEED TO GET SO WORKED UP. EVEN IF THINGS HADN'T TURNED OUT THIS WAY, YOUR CHANCES OF SURVIVAL WOULD STILL BE ZERO." Sanji angrily retorts, "SURE DO FIGHT DIRTY! YOU ROTTEN FISH BASTARDS," Arlong, sitting nearby, laughs cruelly, "SHAHA HAHA! A CREATURE THAT CAN'T EVEN BREATHE UNDERWATER! HOW PATHETIC!" Underwater, Luffy is shown struggling desperately, his feet encased in a heavy block of concrete. He holds his breath, bubbles escaping his mouth as he flails. On the surface, Nami, Genzo, Yosaku, and Johnny watch in horror. Yosaku panics, "THIS IS BAD, JOHNNY! BROTHER LUFFY'S IN TROUBLE!" Johnny agrees, sweating, "HE WON'T BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING IN THAT SITUATION!"

Zoro charges aggressively toward Hatchan, declaring, "I'LL END THIS IN 5 SECONDS!" Hatchan begins an ink attack, shouting, "TAKO-HACHI... BLACK..." Zoro closes the distance through the attack. Hatchan looks startled, exclaiming, "NYU!" Zoro delivers a powerful horizontal slash, but Hatchan quickly reacts, using his star-shaped, spiked hair to block the incoming blade. The impact creates a loud clash as Zoro's sword connects with Hatchan's hardened hair spikes.

Zoro's slash cuts cleanly through the tips of Hatchan's spiked hair. Hatchan recoils in shock, crying out, "NYUUU! MY HAIR!" Zoro lands behind him, panting slightly, and scoffs, "HMPH." Hatchan quickly recovers his composure, stating, "I'LL FORGIVE YOU SINCE IT'S ONLY HAIR! THE IMPORTANT THING IS I'M STILL ALIVE!" Zoro glances back over his shoulder and sarcastically replies, "OH IS THAT SO? THANKS." This enrages Hatchan, who grits his teeth and yells, "BUT... WHY YOU...!" as he prepares to retaliate.

Sanji notices Zoro's heavy breathing and sweating, thinking to himself, "THAT GUY..." Zoro is clearly straining, panting as he holds his sword. Taking advantage of Sanji's momentary distraction, Kuroobi launches a swift karate chop at him, warning, "YOUR LIFE WILL BE CUT SHORT IF YOU LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE!" Sanji barely dodges the strike, crying out, "AHH!" as Kuroobi's hand slices through the air. Sanji immediately counters with a powerful kick, retorting, "CUT SHORT...!? A DAMN FISH SHOULDN'T BE GOING AGAINST A COOK!"

Underwater, Luffy continues to drown, clutching his throat in agony as bubbles escape his mouth. He thinks, "IT HURTS! IT HURTS!" Back on the surface, Hatchan faces Zoro and boasts, "DID YOU KNOW, RORONOA ZORO? THAT I'M QUITE STRONG AGAINST SWORDSMEN!? DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I MEAN?" Hatchan then unleashes a rapid barrage of punches with his multiple arms, calling out his attack, "NAKED SWORD CATCHING TECHNIQUE! OCTOPUS 3 CONTINUOUS". Zoro raises his sword to defend himself, yelling back, "LIKE HELL I DO!"

Hatchan continues his relentless assault, his multiple fists striking out rapidly with suction cup sounds, "HAH! HAH! HAH!" Zoro skillfully deflects and dodges the flurry of blows, shouting, "I DON'T HAVE TIME TO PLAY AROUND WITH YOU!" Zoro counterattacks, swinging his sword fiercely, "GO TO HELL ALREADY! YOU OCTOPUS BASTARD!" He thinks to himself, "THIS IS GETTING RIDICULOUS..." Zoro then executes a precise slash aimed at Hatchan's hands, calling out, "NUMBER 9*..." (with a note explaining it's a pun where the attack's name can also mean "suction cup"). Hatchan recoils, exclaiming, "TAKO HACHI..."

Hatchan leaps high into the air, using his suction cups to stick to the tall pillar of the Arlong Park building. Zoro looks up at him, annoyed, and yells, "THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE PLAYING AT! GET YOUR ASS DOWN THIS INSTANT!" Hatchan looks down and questions Zoro, "I'VE HEARD THAT YOU USE 3 SWORDS. SO WHY ARE YOU ONLY USING ONE!? YOU TRYING TO BUY TIME OR SOMETHING!?" Zoro angrily replies, "SHUT UP! I HAVEN'T FOUGHT SERIOUSLY YET!" Zoro then adds confidently, "THAT'S BECAUSE USING ONE SWORD IS STILL MORE THAN ENOUGH TO BEAT YOU!"

Luffy is shown still trapped underwater, struggling for air. Hatchan, clinging to the wall, declares, "THERE'S A CLEAR REASON, WHY HUMAN SWORDSMEN CAN NEVER HOPE TO BEAT ME." On the ground, Yosaku and Johnny are in a panic. Yosaku yells, "DAMN IT! THAT OCTOPUS BASTARD IS WASTING TIME! AT THIS RATE, BROTHER LUFFY'S GOING TO DIE...! WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING!" Johnny adds, "BUT IF WE JUMP INTO THE SEA RIGHT NOW, HE'LL DRAG US UNDER AND DROWN US!" Genzo, covered in bandages, steps forward and begins removing his weapons, saying, "WAIT RIGHT THERE. I'LL GO SAVE THAT RUBBER BOY INSTEAD." Yosaku looks at him, "GEN..." Johnny protests, "DO YOU THINK YOU CAN REALLY ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING BY JUMPING INTO THE SEA WITH THOSE WOUNDS OF YOURS!?"

Nami steps forward with determination, declaring, "I'LL GO TOO!" The other villagers rally behind her, shouting, "ME TOO, GEN!" "AND ME!" "I'LL GO TOO!" Genzo firmly stops them, "NO! IF WE ALL GO, IT'LL BE EASIER FOR THE FISHMEN TO SPOT US AND THAT'LL ONLY BRING MORE TROUBLE. IT'LL BE MEANINGLESS IF WE END UP HINDERING THEIR FIGHT. JUST ME ALONE IS FINE! ALRIGHT?" A villager murmurs, "GEN..." Nojiko then steps up, holding a rifle, and insists, "GEN, I'LL GO TOO!" Genzo tries to dissuade her, "NOJIKO...! BUT YOUR STOMACH IS STILL..." Nojiko interrupts, "BUT THOSE GUYS ARE FIGHTING FOR MY SISTER'S SAKE!" Moved by their resolve, Yosaku says, "THANK YOU, MISTER!" and Johnny urges, "PLEASE HURRY!"

Nojiko and Genzo sprint towards the pool to save Luffy. Nojiko says, "FINE, LET'S HURRY UP!" and Genzo replies, "ROGER!" Nami watches them go with a serious expression. Suddenly, Zoro stumbles, clutching his chest in pain. Hatchan, still on the wall, continues his speech, "AND THE REASON WHY HUMANS CAN'T BEAT ME IS..." Before he can finish, Zoro collapses completely, falling face-first onto the ground and dropping his sword. Sanji notices and exclaims in shock, "WHA!?" Hatchan also looks surprised, uttering, "NYU!?"

Yosaku and Johnny scream in horror as Zoro falls, "BROTHER!?" Kuroobi looks on with a confused expression. Sanji realizes the grim truth, thinking, "JUST AS I THOUGHT... THE WOUNDS HE RECEIVED FROM HAWKEYES STILL HAVEN'T..." Arlong observes the scene, muttering, "HM?" Seeing Zoro vulnerable, Hatchan seizes the opportunity. He detaches from the wall and dives straight down towards Zoro, extending all his arms for a devastating attack. "THIS IS MY CHANCE! TAKOYAKI PUNCH! MEET YOUR DOOM AS YOU GET CRUSHED! RORONOA ZORO!"

Hatchan slams his fists into the ground where Zoro was lying, but finds empty space. "NYU!?" he exclaims in confusion. He then laughs, "AHA HAHA!" Zoro has managed to evade the attack and stands behind Hatchan, panting heavily and bleeding. "WHY DON'T YOU GET CRUSHED INSTEAD?" Zoro says. Sanji watches, thinking, "I KNEW SOMETHING WAS UP WHEN HE ACTED NORMAL EVEN AFTER RECEIVING THOSE WOUNDS! THAT MORON!" Yosaku explains in disbelief, "OBVIOUSLY! IT'S A WOUND THAT WOULD DISABLE A MAN FOR AT LEAST HALF A YEAR, IF NOT KILL HIM! WAS HE ENDURING THE PAIN ALL THIS TIME!?" Johnny adds, "HIS WOUNDS ARE JUST TOO DEEP! THEY HAVEN'T HEALED OVER YET!" Zoro's strength gives out again, and he collapses to the ground, cursing, "DAMN IT... OF ALL THE TIMES, WHY NOW...!"

While Sanji is distracted by Zoro's collapse, Kuroobi seizes the moment and delivers a brutal, high-speed kick directly to Sanji's face. Sanji cries out, "EIII!" as the impact sends him flying backward through the air. Kuroobi lands and assumes a disciplined martial arts stance, his fist extended. He sternly reprimands Sanji, "I WARNED YOU BEFORE NOT TO LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE...! I'M A 40TH LEVEL FISHMAN-KARATE PRACTITIONER!"

Sanji crashes hard into the ground near the gathered villagers, sliding across the dirt. Yosaku and Johnny yell out in concern, "BROTHER COOK!?" The villagers are stunned, one of them asking, "WHAT...? DID A HUMAN... JUST FLY PAST US...!?" Sanji lies motionless on his back. Kuroobi stands victorious in the distance, scoffing, "COULDN'T EVEN PUT UP A FIGHT... HOW BORING. JUST THROW HIM INTO THE SEA." Another Fishman asks Arlong, "WHAT SHOULD WE DO WITH RORONOA ZORO?" Arlong, sitting calmly, is addressed by the fishman who continues, "THEY'VE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF, ARLONG."

A voice yells at Hatchan, "HEY, HACHI! WAKE UP! HOW LONG ARE YOU GOING TO BE SLEEPING!?" Hatchan furiously bursts from the rubble, now wielding six heavy cutlasses, one in each of his hands. He roars, "YOU'VE REALLY PISSED ME OFF! I'M GOING TO BUTCHER YOU!" Hatchan strikes an imposing pose with his six swords, declaring his prowess: "DID YOU KNOW THAT ASIDE FROM ONE MAN, I, HACHI OF THE 6 SWORDS STYLE, AM THE NUMBER 1 SWORDSMAN IN FISHMAN ISLAND!? EVEN IF THE HEAVENS WERE TO BE FLIPPED OVER, YOU WOULD HAVE NO CHANCE OF BEATING ME!!!"

Despite his severe injuries, Zoro slowly stands back up, gripping his single sword. He challenges Hatchan, "WHO'RE YOU TRYING TO FIGHT, HACHI?" Hatchan looks surprised, "NYU?" Zoro smirks and mocks him, "6 SWORDS STYLE? DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH. JUST WHAT'S SO GREAT ABOUT THAT!?" Zoro then lowers his stance, his eyes burning with intense determination. "LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, YOU LITTLE OCTOPUS! I'VE GOT A MAN I HAVE TO MEET NO MATTER WHAT... AND UNTIL I MEET HIM... NOT EVEN THE GRIM REAPER CAN TAKE MY LIFE AWAY!" Hatchan, enraged that Zoro is still standing, yells, "HE WAS ALIVE? I'LL KILL YOU, RORONOA ZORO!" Zoro calls out to his friends, "YOSAKU! JOHNNY! LEND ME YOUR SWORDS! ALLOW ME TO SHOW YOU MY 3 SWORDS STYLE." Yosaku and Johnny eagerly reply, "YOU GOT IT!"

Sanji slowly pushes himself up from the ground, dusting off his suit. He mutters, "HMPH..." The villagers, including Yosaku and Johnny, watch in awe as he stands up seemingly unfazed. Sanji spits out a stream of smoke and blood, casually remarking, "IF THAT WAS A 40TH LEVEL PUNCH JUST NOW, THEN THE KICKS I RECEIVED FROM THAT OLD GEEZER ALL THE TIME WERE ABOUT LEVEL 400..." Meanwhile, underwater, Genzo and Nojiko are shown swimming rapidly towards the trapped Luffy, determined to save him.
