Ten days ago on Zou, a cloaked figure with a wide-brimmed hat laughs 'SHURORORO...' while declaring the power of the gas exceeds expectations. A small mink stands nearby. The figure reveals it is a 'MASS SLAUGHTER WEAPON' of their own design named 'KORO' and boasts about its lethal effect. Jack appears in the background as the cloaked figure is scolded: 'IF YOU HADN'T INVENTED IT IN THE FIRST PLACE, NONE OF THESE POOR PEOPLE WOULD HAVE SUFFERED, JACKASS!' The figure retorts that there is nothing redeeming about them. A massive 'PHOOOH!' sound effect erupts as someone yells 'WHAT WAS THAT FOR!I'

The cloaked figure warns that saving the minks could place them on the wrong side of the food chain, noting the minks' battle prowess and hatred of humans. They suggest leaving the minks behind. Suddenly a massive explosion erupts with 'DON!' and 'GYAHH!' as debris flies. Characters scream 'UWAA AAAH!', 'KYAH!', and 'GYAAH!' while reacting to the blast. One figure shouts 'AH! THAT'S NAMI-SAN'S VOICE!' as rain begins to fall heavily. Another asks 'WHAT THE HELL IS WITH THIS RAIN!I' amid the chaos and smoke.

The scarred man in the black hat grabs Caesar by the collar and snarls, "YOU BETTER HAVE GOTTEN RID OF THIS PATHETIC GAS OF YOURS FROM THIS CITY!" Caesar replies nervously, "ALRIGHT, LISTEN UP CAESAR. BEFORE I GET BACK," while sweat drips down his face. In the next tier, Brook fights off attackers amid explosions and smoke, shouting "BROOK! HOLD 'EM OFF FOR JUST A BIT LONGER... JUST LIKE THAT!" as someone yells "THERE THEY ARE!" The scarred man continues threatening Caesar: "IF NOT, THEN WHO KNOWS... THIS HEART OF YOURS MIGHT JUST BE MADE INTO PATE." Caesar snaps back, "FINE! YOU DEVIL!" The bottom panel erupts into a massive close-range attack as the large bearded fighter unleashes "MOUTON SHOT!!!" while the scarred man declares "DIABLE..." with a powerful impact effect.

In the upper panels, a woman with curly hair watches in shock as others react to the chaos. A voice says "ROGER!" while another declares "WE'LL JUST REPORT THAT THE SAMURAI 'WASN'T HERE.'" Someone shouts "WHA~T!I BUT WHAT ABOUT THE SAMURAI!I" and "FALL BACK! LORD SHEEPSHEAD HAS BEEN DEFEATED!" The central panel shows a furious man with a scar across his face screaming "NGHHH! The tall woman replies, "WAS CAESAR'S WEAPON REALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL OF THISI" while the afro-haired man adds, "THIS IS HORRIBLE..." The blonde continues, "LOOKS LIKE CAESAR'S DONE A GOOD JOB OF GETTING RID OF THE REMAINING GAS, THOUGH. IF THEY WERE WILLING TO GO THIS FAR, I'D SAY THERE'S STILL... A GOOD CHANCE A LARGE NUMBER OF THEM ARE STILL HIDING OUT SOMEWHERE ON THIS ISLAND." In the close-up, he warns, "WE MIGHT END UP REGRETTING SAVING THESE GUYS..." The woman notes, "IF THAT TURNS OUT TO BE THE CASE..." and the afro-haired man concludes, "ACCORDING TO THE GAS BRAIN, THE MINK RACES ARE A VIOLENT BUNCH..." A large dragon-like creature lies nearby amid the ruins.

Nami stares in shock as a voice cries out, "EHI! ALSO FRIENDS OF JACK'S!I" An elephant mink looms overhead, growling, "ARE YOU LOT..." In a sudden dash, a blond figure shouts "NAMI-SAN!" while a skull-masked mink yells "SHIKK" and swings a weapon. Nami spins her staff in a fierce counterattack, grunting "WAH!" as impact lines explode across the panel. Below, Nami pants heavily, realizing "THE POISON'S WEAKENED HER!" A wide-eyed mink in a hat gasps "UUUGH..." as Nami forces herself upright, declaring "I'M FINE! WAIT!"

Nami drives her staff downward with a massive "ビシッ" strike, shouting "UGH!" as the elephant mink is slammed into the ground. In the background, figures tumble through the air. A mink yells "I'LL SHOW YOU!" while another threatens "I'LL BLOW ALL OF YOU TO SMITH-EREENS!" A hand grips a sparking bomb as someone warns "NAMI-SAN! THAT WOMAN! SHE'S GOT A BOMB!" Nami, bloodied and furious, roars at the fallen enemy, "WHAT DO YOU POSSIBLY HOPE TO GAIN BY SLAUGHTERING OUR PEOPLE!I WHAT GRUDGE DO YOU HOLD AGAINST US!I"

Amid the ruined city, a voice declares, "THE PERSON YOU SEEK IS NOT HERE! THIS COUNTRY IS HUNDREDS OF YEARS OLD!" Smoke drifts as "FUUUU" echoes. Wanda tells a lion mink, "WANDA... THESE PEOPLE... ARE NOT AFFILIATED WITH JACK!" Nearby, a mink named Tristan reports, "JACK AND HIS SUBORDINATES HAVE ALL RETREATED FROM THIS ISLAND!" A tearful mink cries, "WANDA-SAN! THOSE PEOPLE SAVED ME!" In the lower panels, a wide-eyed character demands "WHAT ARE YOU ALL DOING!I" as Pedro grips a weapon and another explains the gas has disappeared "BECAUSE OF THEIR MAGIC!"

A wide view shows the devastated city as narration states, "IF ANTIDOTES TO THE POISONS OF THIS GAS ARE NOT ADMINISTERED WITHIN 48 HOURS OF EXPOSURE, ITS EFFECTS BECOME IMPOSSIBLE TO TREAT!" and "OVER 24 HOURS HAVE PASSED SINCE THE RELEASE OF THIS GAS!" A mink doctor insists, "I'M A DOCTOR! PLEASE, DO AS I SAY!" while another pleads for help rounding up the injured. The skull-masked mink shouts, "WHERE IS YOUR HOSPITAL!I" and "WE CAN'T AFFORD TO WASTE A SINGLE SECOND!" Nami, tears streaming, declares firmly, "WE'RE NOT GOING TO ABANDON A SINGLE ONE OF YOU!" A wounded mink asks in disbelief, "ARE YOU REALLY... GOING TO SAVE US...I I THOUGHT WE WERE DONE FOR... ALL OF US... DEAD..."

On the devastated streets of Zou, a frantic mink doctor raises a massive syringe while a furious mink in a top hat glares nearby. Chopper, wearing a striped helmet and muzzle, frantically mixes chemicals at a lab table. Below, the battle rages across the ruined city as minks clash with massive forces. Jack the Drought looms in the background, his long hair and spotted coat unmistakable. A giant furry beast lies defeated on the ground while smaller minks flee or fight. Explosions and debris fill the air as the chaos spreads through the streets.

Panic spreads as minks react in horror. A skull-faced mink clutches his head while a goat-like mink with goggles screams. A beautiful blonde mink holds a small creature close. In the streets, a white-clad figure carrying briefcases flees as a massive explosion erupts behind him. The anguished cry "わあああああああ..!!" echoes across the city. More minks tumble and shout with SFX like "わっ", "うおおお", and "わっ" as the destruction intensifies. A long-haired mink and others are caught in the blast wave.

The blonde mink tearfully embraces another woman. "ONE DAY, WE HOPE TO BE ABLE TO REPAY IT." "WE WILL NEVER FORGET THIS DEBT AS LONG AS WE LIVE." "YOU REALLY MANAGE TO SAVE EVERY LAST ONE OF US." "THOUGH WE WERE LITTLE MORE THAN STRANGERS TO YOU ALL..." "NOW, NOW, THAT REALLY ISN'T NECESSARY!" In a cozy room, the group relaxes. "SERIOUSLY THOUGH, THIS JACK GUY GRINDS MY GEARS!" "I SEE WHY WE WERE WELCOMED SO WARMLY..." "SO THAT'S HOW THINGS WENT DOWN..." "MAKES ME PROUD TO BE A FRIGGIN' STRAW HAT!" "WAAGGHH! YOU GUYS...ARE LIKE MINKATARIANS!" "MAN, I PROMISE YOU, ONE DAY I'LL SOCK HIM AND THAT KAIDOU GOOD AND HARD!" Chopper asks, "HMI DO YOU HAVE SOMEPLACE YOU NEED TO BE, CHOPPERI" "ARE YOU GUYS GOING TO STAY AND TALK HEREI" The blonde mink replies, "I HAVE A HARD TIME BELIEVING THAT THIS WAS ACTUALLY TRUE. YOU WOULD TOO, IF YOU'D SEEN THE GUY FIGHT." "BUT THAT WASN'T JACK'S OBITUARY..."

Chopper stands proudly and declares, "AND THE GUARDIANS OF WHALE FOREST. IT'S TIME FOR A CHECKUP!" "WELL, IT'S NIGHT NOW, SO I THOUGHT I'D PAY THE RULER OF THE NIGHT, NEKOMAMUSHI, A VISIT..." A tall female mink in a dress states, "I AM A 'RULER'S BIRD.' MY JOB IS TO, DAY AND NIGHT..." "ISN'T IT TIME FOR YOU TO SLEEP AS WELLI" "COME TO THINK OF IT, WANDA..." "THEN LET'S GET OUT THE CROCCOYS!" "BE AT THE SIDE OF BOTH RULERS, I'M ALSO ONE OF THE FEW PEOPLE THAT CAN COME AND GO AS THEY PLEASE FROM BOTH RULERS' KINGDOMS." An enthusiastic mink shouts, "MASTER NEKOMAMUSHI! I TOO AM QUITE FOND OF HIM! I SHALL ACCOMPANY YOU!" Chopper yells, "NEKOMAMUSHI! I WANNA MEET HIM TOO!" A bandaged mink adds, "I'VE GOT TO REPORT THAT DUKE INUARASHI IS SAFE AND SOUND. THOUGH I SUSPECT I'LL BE DISMISSED AS 'UNNEEDED INFORMATION.' HEH."

Under a cloudy sky, a voice notes, "But it appears to be hidden by the clouds. We're lucky." Another adds, "Tonight's a full moon," as a guitar strums. On the back of a massive, living creature, the Straw Hats and minks continue their tense discussion. Luffy listens from the creature's shell while Brook, in his top hat, plays and remarks, "So, Wanda... based on what you said..." Wanda replies, "MHM!" A mink warns, "Be careful!" Another mink explains, "It's okay. I'm also a ruler's bird, so..." Carrot adds apologetically, "Sorry for dragging you along too, Carrot." Below, a skull-faced mink states, "We haven't told most of this country's inhabitants what actually happened." The group admits, "That event... to be honest, we didn't want to give them further cause to worry. They just had their entire country destroyed..." Luffy, with a serious expression, concludes, "Yeah. Curly and Gasbrain haven't yet disappeared from our story."

Luffy's eyes widen in shock as a voice continues, "It may very well be that Sanji-san... steel yourselves as you listen to this tale. All of this happened rather secretively. That too, only two days ago." The massive creature carries the group through the dense forest of Zou. A speech bubble declares, "To return to us." Another warns, "Is no longer able..." Luffy shouts, "WHA~T!I" The narrative explains, "Log poses do not point to it. Normally, it's all but impossible to find. This place is known as a 'phantom island'... because the island itself is a living being." A mink adds, "Though we managed to slip away from our enemy's ship... we were committed. However, a grave mistake and an oversight..." Nami reacts with alarm while the group presses on, "In his letter! But he said he'd come back! What actually happened was a lot more serious! That's what we're trying to tell you!"

The minks recount, "Unbeknownst to us, there rode a native of this phantom island! In addition, on their ship... we allowed them to catch wind of our destination. You guys, head for Zou ahead of us!" The creature lurches violently through stormy seas as a massive ship approaches. Voices shout, "We're here! No problem. Two of us should be more than enough." A dramatic panel reveals Big Mom's enormous ship looming, with the exclamation, "In other words, two days ago, Big Mom's ship came calling." The group reacts in horror. A fierce mink warrior roars, "Zou is my homeland! Leave this to me, Mama!" with a massive "ROAR!" and impact effects. At the bottom, Luffy appears in a small panel beside the chapter end marker.
