THIS FEELS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM BEING IN A SUBMARINE. IT'S ALMOST LIKE FLYING..." another observes. "WE MUST BE OVER A 10000 DOWN..." "WE'RE WAY PAST THE 'SUNLIT STRATUM'... AND COMING TO THE END OF THE 'TWILIGHT STRATUM', I'D SAY." Small fish dart past as Chopper panics, "NO... IT'S OLD MAN WHITE-BEARD!!" while the crew reacts with "LAA BOO OON!!!" Caribou and his crew plot an ambush inside their bubble. "THE WORLD IS GONNA HEAR THE NAME OF CARIBOU!!!!" Caribou declares while gripping his rifle. "NO, WE'RE GONNA SLIT THEIR THROATS AN' TAKE THE BODIES BACK WITH US!!" a subordinate adds. "BUT THAT AIN'T GOOD ENOUGH... NOBODY'D BE ABLE TO TELL IT WAS US THAT DID IT!" another replies. "IT'D BE SO EASY TO SMASH THEIR SHIP TO PIECES AN' TURN THE LOT OF 'EM INTO SEA JUNK..." Caribou continues. "THEY'RE NOT PREPARED FOR BATTLE IN THE SLIGHTEST... THIS IS A PERFECT AMBUSH!! DON'T YOU LET ME DOWN, MEEEN!!!" he yells as "UH-HUH!" echoes around him. Suddenly an alarm sounds: "CHAAA AAAAA ARGE!!!" A crewman spots something and gasps, "THERE'S SOMETHING APPROACHING FROM SIX-O'CLOCK!!! A SEA MONSTER...I" Panic spreads as "MOOOO OOOO OOHH!!" rings out and "A SHIPI!" is shouted. "HEY, GUYS!!! THERE'S SOMETHING COMING FROM BEHIND - LOOKS LIKE A SHIP!!!" The crew reacts in shock: "IT'S HEADING STRAIGHT FOR US!!!" as an impact hits.

The coated Sunny rams alongside the enemy ship in a massive collision. "IT'S A PIRATE SHIP!!" a Straw Hat yells as impact lines explode across the panels. "GET AWAY FROM THEEEM!!! THE BUBBLE'S GONNA BREA AAK!!!" someone screams. "THEY'RE RAMMING UP ALONGSIDE OUR SHIP!!!" another shouts. "WHO ARE THESE GUYSI!!!" demands a crew member. "...DON'T TELL ME THEY'RE COMING UP BUBBLE-TO-BUBBLE TO BOARD OUR SHIP....!!!" The Sunny's figurehead and deck shake violently. Nami stares in disbelief, "......I!! HANG ON A MINUTE... IS THAT......I!!!" while a voice cries "MOH-MOOI!" Usopp and others react with "UH-HUHH!!!" and "UH-HUH!" as the order "WE'RE GOING IN, MEN!!!" rings out amid the chaos of splintering wood and rushing water.

A massive sea cow-like creature bursts through debris, glaring at the crew. "YOU'RE MOHMOO, FROM THE ARLONG PIRATES, AREN'T YOUI!" someone recognizes. Luffy and Sanji stare in surprise. "...HAVE WEI" Luffy asks. "HMI WE'VE SEEN THIS GUY BEFORE, RIGHT, LUFFYI" Sanji replies. Nami's eyes widen in recognition as she exclaims, "DO YOU RECOGNISE MEI!" while Mohmoo sweats and reacts with shock. The creature panics and thrashes: "PIN-WHEEL!!!" and "DIE ALREADY!!!" as attacks land with "AAAAA GHHHH HHHH!!!" Luffy narrows his eyes and states, "OH, IT'S THIS GUY. HE WAS WITH THE FISHMEN, HUHI" The crew braces as the sea cow rampages through the bubble interior.

Panic explodes across the deck as an intruder boards the ship. A crewman shrieks, "AAAAHHHH!!! SOMEONE'S COME ON BOARD OUR SHIP!!!" while a horned fish-man pirate roars, "FOLLOW AFTER ME, MEEEN!!!" Another stammers, "M... M...!!!" From below, voices cackle, "KEHEH HEHEH!!" and threaten, "...WE'LL SLAUGHTER EVERY LAST MAN ON THE SHIP!!!" and "KEHIHIHI!!! WHILE THESE GUYS ARE BUSY STARING DUMFOUNDED..." The fish-man pirate lunges forward with a massive splash as something enormous crashes into the sea, sending up a huge wave. Crew members scream, "WHAAA AAAI!!" as the ship tilts violently amid the chaos and impact lines.

The chaos continues as allies react in alarm. Someone yells, "BIG BRO DUDEE!!" and "WHAT'S WRONG, SEA COWI!! WHY ARE YOU DOING THISI!!" while another cries, "OH, NO!!" and "CAP'N CARIBOU'S BEEN STRANDED ON THE OTHER SHIP!!" A commanding figure shouts, "NOW, MEN!!! DON'T STAND AROUND SAYING HELLOOOO!!! JUST LET THOSE GATLING GUNS RIIIIIIIII!!!" A massive fish-man-like captain with a white coat bellows, "KILL THAT WHOLE DAMN STRAW HAT CREW STONE DEA..." Nearby, a horned figure mutters, "EH..." as the scene shifts to an open area with a large cloaked figure standing with arms outstretched and a question mark bubble appearing.

The large captain pleads desperately, "YOU CAN'T DO THAT TO MEEEE!!! DON'T THROW AWAY A GUY'S LIFE SO EASILYYYYYYY!!!" and "FORGIVE MEEEEE!!! DON'T THROW ME OUT INTO THE OCEAAAAN!!! ANYTHING BUT THAAAAAAAAT!!!" while muttering, "GOD IS... GOD IS LOOKING DOWN ON YOU ALL!!! YOU KNOW THAT, RIGHTI!" A blond man with a scar retorts, "NO, NO, NO, NO!!! DON'T BE RIDICULOUS - OF COURSE I'M NOT THE CAPTAIN!!!" and "WHO THE ARE YOU, ANYWAYI! YOU'RE THE CAPTAIN OF THAT SHIP, RIGHTI" The captain on the ground protests, "OH, QUIT ACTING LIKE YOU'RE ALL RIGHTEOUS!! YOU'RE THE ONE WHO WAS SCREAMING ABOUT GATLING GUNS AND KILLING US ALL!!!" A woman with long hair asks, "HEY, CAN I ASK SOMETHINGI" as a small figure appears and others react with surprise, "WHAAAAI HE ISI!" and "OHHHH, DON'T BE AN IDIOT!! HE'S OBVIOUSLY LYING!!"

Tensions rise as Sanji snaps, "BLUE GHH!!!" and "DON'T YOU DARE STARE LEWDLY AT OUR BEAUTIFUL NAVIGATOR LIKE THAT!!!" while the fish-man captain leers, "YOU MUST BE... THE 'CAT BURGLAR', YEAH-I" and "MY, MY... NOW AIN'T YOU A CUTIE..." Nami stands with a stern expression. A voice notes, "IT'S THE MARK OF A PRO UNDERSEA TRAVELLER..." and "...ANYWAY, WE JUST FOUND THAT THING SWIMMING AROUND IN THE AREA...." The fish-man captain panics, "OH, WOULD YOU QUIT DOING THAT ALREADYI!!!" amid sound effects "NAGU UUUWG HHHH HHHH!!!" Someone calls, "NAMI-SAN! YOU'RE ALL RIGHT..." A small figure shouts, "BIG BRO DUDEE!! I'LL SAVE YOU!!!" and "WHAT'S WRONGI! SEA COW!!!!" as the horned fish-man thrashes wildly with "STOOOOOP!! STOP, SEA COOOOW!!!" and massive sound effects.

The Straw Hats sail the Thousand Sunny through the ocean depths as the log pose points downward. Luffy wonders aloud, "...Luffy... What exactly are you planning now...I!" while Usopp asks, "D'you think there are any sea monsters aroundI" Nami questions their course: "HEY, NAMI! AREN'T WE GOING IN A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT DIRECTION TO WHERE THE LOG POSE IS POINTINGI" Luffy replies confidently that it will be simple enough to break out of the ropes but guesses he could wait for his chance. Brook shivers, "AHHH, I'M SPROUTING GOOSEBUMPS ALL OVER MY SKIN...!" as Luffy insists, "WHYI! IT'LL BE QUICKER IF WE JUST GO STRAIGHT WHERE IT'S POINTING, WON'T ITI!" Nami explains, "...NO, IT'S FINE. TRAVELLING SLIGHTLY TO THE SOUTHWEST OF WHERE THE LOG POSE POINTS IS THE BEST ROUTE." The crew debates the unpredictable grand line currents. Chopper panics, "EHHHHI! VOLCANOESI! THE SEA BED IS SCARY!!!" while Usopp worries about smashing into mountains and volcanoes before reaching the bottom. Franky asks if there is a route that guarantees safety.

Sanji snaps at Luffy, "IDIOT... OF COURSE IT'S GONNA BE COLD AT THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN! IT'S LIKE A BATH - THE WATER AT THE BOTTOM'S ALWAYS COOLER THAN THE WATER AT THE TOP!" Nami adds, "WE'RE GOING SOMEWHERE COLDI I THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO THE SEA BOTTOM." She continues, "YOU SHOULD ALL PUT ON COATS LIKE THIS, BY THE WAY. IT'S GOING TO GET COLD FROM HERE ON OUT. THERE IS - JUST ONE...!!" Brook exclaims, "OH, RIGHT! SO THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN WOULD BE COLDER THAN IT IS AT THE SURFACE!!" The skeleton pirate then lectures on ocean currents, drawing diagrams of surface currents and deepwater currents, declaring, "THESE CURRENTS MOVE IN COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS TO THE 'SURFACE CURRENTS' THAT WE ARE CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING." He explains deepwater currents flow unbroken through the seas of the entire world and can rise or drill deeper like a giant dragon. Zoro listens with arms crossed.

Brook continues his explanation of the deepwater currents, noting they have travelled the dark regions for two thousand years and that a ship can take as much as two thousand years to reach the sea bed before the currents carry it back up. He adds that the currents flow rather leisurely at the sea bed. Luffy grows excited, "NOW I'M GETTING EXCITED!!" as Nami smiles. Brook warns of mighty beasts and the souls of the dead. Luffy cheers, "THAT'S THE WAY, WE'LL BE TAKEN STRAIGHT DOWN TO THE DEEPWATER CURRENTS AND WE CAN REACH THE SEA BED!!" while Nami remarks, "OH! YOU'RE RIGHT!! MAN, YOU'RE REALLY SMART..." Franky realizes, "I GET IT!! SO THAT'S WHY WE'RE HEADING INTO COLDER WATERS!!!" Robin notes the water gets colder as the currents start to flow downward. The crew reacts with shock at the mention of ghosts at the bottom of the sea.

Nami explains they are heading toward a "WINTER ISLAND" region where the Red Line causes the currents to turn sharply downward. She points out summer and winter island areas on a map of the Red Line. Luffy excitedly suggests visiting Salineden City, but Sanji quickly shuts him down, "OHHH, FORGET IT!!" Nami questions the group about saline density levels. Luffy and Chopper react with surprise. Robin smiles and explains that in freezing-cold regions ice forms in the ocean water, and when it does the salt content makes the water "COLD" and "HEAVY," causing it to flow downward. Chopper cheers at the explanation while Zoro asks where the bear guy sent them.

The crew relaxes aboard the Thousand Sunny as Brook strums his guitar. "CARE FOR A SONG, NAMI-SANI!" he asks. Nami replies, "THAT'S WHY YOU SHOULD JUST SHUT UP AND LET ME HANDLE THESE THINGS IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!" Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper sip drinks while watching the ocean. Luffy suddenly shouts, "WHOAAAA!! IS THAT ITI! THAT'S AMAZING!!!" The crew stares down at a massive downward current plunging into the ocean depths. "WHAT'S IT LOOK LIKEI! A CURRENT FLOWING DOWN THE OCEAN DEPTHS...!" someone exclaims. Nami confirms, "NAMI! WHILE YOU'VE BEEN EXPLAINING THE THEORY, IT LOOKS AS THOUGH WE'VE ALMOST REACHED THE CURRENT!" "OHI!! LET'S SEE THE MYSTERY CURRENT, THEN!!" Franky yells. The ship tilts as they near the plunging flow. "IT'S ALMOST LIKE A GIGANTIC..." Robin notes. Sanji and others watch in awe as the vessel begins its descent. "...THAT'S THE DOWNWARD CURRENT PLUME...!" "WHAT... IS THAT...I" "NOT HALF BAD WORK, NATURE!!" the crew reacts with mixed shock and excitement.

The Sunny plunges into the roaring undersea waterfall. "IT'S ONE THING TO HEAR ABOUT IT... BUT SEEING IT FIRST-HAND IS ANOTHER MATTER ENTIRELY!! YOHOHO...!" Brook shouts. Luffy yells, "AWESOMEE EEEEEE!!!" The crew stares in terror at the sheer scale. "INCREDIBLE...!! THE SHEER MAGNITUDE OF THE FLOW IS BREATHTAKING...!!!" "HOW MANY HUNDREDS OF METRES ACROSS MUST IT BE...I!" Voices cry out, "WE'RE DOOMEE EED!!! AT THAT SPEED, WE'LL BE SMASHED AGAINST THE SEABED FOR SURE!!!" "I CAN'T SEE THE BOTTOM!! IT'S JUST PITCH BLACKNESS DOWN!!!" Nami warns, "TURN BACK, RIGHT NOW!!! WE'RE ALL IN MORTAL DANGER!!!" while a voice answers, "DON'T YOU WORRY ABOUT THE SHIP!! THE ULTIMATE CRAFT, HEWN FROM THE LEGENDARY ADAM TREE!!" The ship continues falling. "THE WATER'S FALLING ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE SEA BOTTOM!!!" A massive silhouette looms below as the crew spots something enormous. "THAT LEGENDARY DEMON THAT ROAMS THE VAST OCEAN... THAT BEAST IS..."

A colossal kraken rises from the depths, tentacles crushing ships. "LOOK HOW HUGE IT IS!!! IT'S A REAL MONSTER SQUID!!!" the crew screams. "IT'S CRUSHING ALL THOSE SHIPS IN ITS TENTACLES!!!" Pleas ring out: "PLEASE!! I DON'T WANT TO DIE ANY MORE THAN YOU DO!! JUST TURN BACK!!" and "I DON'T KNOW WHERE IT CAME FROM... BUT IT MUST BE FEEDING ON ALL THE SHIPS THAT TRY TO TAKE THIS CURRENT DOWN TO THE SEA DEPTHS!!!" Luffy's eyes light up with excitement. "LET'S MAKE THAT THING OUR PET!!!" he grins wildly. "HUHI!!" Usopp reacts in shock. The monster's massive eye and suckered tentacles fill the panel as the Sunny is pulled closer. "IT'S THE KRAKEEEEE EEEEEEEN!!!" the crew shouts in unison while the beast roars and the ships are smashed around it.
