DEMON

The fight continues with brutal intensity. Gin swings his tonfa horizontally, striking Sanji hard. Sanji spits blood and cries out, "AGH!" Gin yells, "SINGE!" as he follows up with another attack. He steps forward with a "STEP" sound effect and brings both of his iron ball tonfas crashing down onto the deck where Sanji is lying. Sanji barely manages to dodge, the heavy balls smashing into the wood right next to his head, sending splinters flying.

Sanji quickly counters Gin's assault. From his position on the ground, he pushes up into a handstand and delivers a powerful upward kick directly into Gin's face. The impact is accompanied by a loud "BAM" sound effect, sending Gin flying backward, blood spurting from his mouth. Sanji smoothly lands back on his feet with a "THUD," his black suit and shoes moving with agility.

Gin crashes onto his back on the wooden wreckage, groaning "UGH!" as he hits the ground hard. The Baratie cooks, watching from the water near the restaurant ship, are shocked by the turn of events. One cook stammers in disbelief, "T-THAT COOK LANDED A HIT ON GIN!" Another cook, sweating nervously, says, "Y... YOU DON'T THINK EVEN GIN'LL BE DONE IN BY HIM, DO YOU...?" The Baratie ship stands prominently in the background.

Don Krieg stands tall on the floating wreckage, his spiked shield equipped on his arm. He addresses his men, "HMPH, JUST WHAT ARE YOU FOOLS DOUBTING GIN'S FIGHTING ABILITIES FOR...!?" He continues, "YOU'VE ALL SEEN FOR YOURSELF WHAT HE'S CAPABLE OF." A crewmate calls out, "DON!" Krieg explains, "GIN'S A CALM AND COLLECTED 'DEMON.' IT'S EXACTLY BECAUSE OF THAT NATURE THAT I PLACED HIM AS THE BATTLE COMMANDER. HE'LL SHOW HIS TRUE ABILITIES IN JUST A LITTLE WHILE..." Gin is shown getting back up, his face shadowed and serious. Krieg adds, "GIN'S A MERCILESS KILLER WHO DOESN'T EVEN HESITATE FOR A SECOND IN BRUTALLY SLAUGHTERING HIS ENEMIES, WHETHER THEY BE CRYING OR BEGGING... THAT'S WHY HE'S THE COLD-HEARTED 'DEMON,' WITHOUT A SHRED OF COMPASSION...!" The Krieg Pirates gulp, "T-THE DON'S RIGHT..."

Sanji struggles to stand, clutching his side and bleeding heavily from his mouth. The Baratie cooks watch with deep concern. "S-SANJI... I WONDER IF HE'S ALRIGHT..." one says. Another adds, "HOW COULD HE BE!? HE MUST'VE ALREADY HAD 5 OR 6 OF HIS RIBS BROKEN FROM THAT SHIELD-WEARING BASTARD EARLIER...!" Sanji stands up, facing Gin. He taunts him, "...YOU'RE UNEXPECTEDLY PRETTY WEAK, MR. BATTLE COMMANDER. GUESS THE MIGHTY KRIEG PIRATES WERE ALL TALK AND NO SUBSTANCE." Gin glares back, licking the blood from his lips with a menacing look.

Luffy, watching the fight from a nearby piece of wreckage, notices an opening. "AH," he says, seeing Don Krieg distracted. "HE'S LOOKING AWAY. NOW'S MY CHANCE TO SEND HIM FLYING!" Luffy leaps high into the air, stretching his arms back to prepare an attack, yelling "DOAHHHHHH!" as he flies toward Krieg. Krieg calmly raises his large spiked shield, saying, "NO NEED TO BE IMPATIENT..."

Krieg holds his massive shield ready. As Luffy runs along a floating mast toward him, Krieg smirks and says, "FLICK!" He presses a mechanism on his shield. The shield suddenly opens up, revealing hidden gun barrels. Luffy notices, saying "HM?" just before the shield fires. A barrage of projectiles shoots out, hitting the water and the mast around Luffy. Luffy yells "AHHHH!" as he tries to avoid the blasts.

The shield fires a volley of sharp spears directly at Luffy. Krieg declares, "BECAUSE I'LL KILL YOU AS WELL WITHIN DUE TIME!" Luffy desperately dodges the incoming spears, yelling "SPEARS!" and "AGHH!" as they impale the wooden mast he is running on. Explosions rock the wreckage around him as the spears hit their marks.

Luffy manages to dodge most of the spears, but one grazes him. He loses his footing and falls toward the ocean, yelling "ACK! CRAP, THE OCEAN!" He quickly stretches his arm and grabs onto the mast to stop his fall, grunting "OOF!" He pulls himself up, clutching his injured arm and yelling, "OW OWWWWW! DAMN IT!!!" Krieg watches him with a smug expression, saying, "SO YOU MANAGED TO GET AWAY, HAMMER BOY."

Luffy glares angrily at Krieg, shouting, "HEY, YOU BASTARD! DO YOU NOT WANT TO FIGHT OR WHAT!?" Krieg stands confidently in his golden armor. "DO I WANT TO FIGHT...? HA, I DON'T NEED TO. THE ONLY THING I NEED IN A BATTLE ARE METHODS WHICH TO KILL YOU. THAT IS TRUE MIGHT AS A HUMAN!" Krieg then insults Luffy, "ON THE OTHER HAND, YOU, WHO CAN ONLY CHARGE STRAIGHT-AHEAD WITHOUT USING YOUR HEAD, ARE EQUIVALENT TO A MONKEY!" Luffy stretches his cheeks wide with his fingers, mocking Krieg with monkey sounds, "OO-OO-AHH-AHH! UNDERESTIMATE MONKEYS AND YOU'LL GET CLAWED!"

Krieg smirks at Luffy's taunt and calls out to Gin, "FINISH 'IM, GIN! ABOUT TIME..." Meanwhile, Sanji is in bad shape. He collapses onto his hands and knees on the deck, coughing up blood with a "G.. GUHA!" Gin stands over him, his face battered and bleeding, holding his iron ball tonfa ready. Blood drips from the heavy iron ball. Sanji groans, "UGH..."

The Baratie cooks are in despair. "DAMN IT! IF IT WASN'T FOR THAT SHIELD-WEARING BASTARD, THEN SANJI WOULD...!" one cries. "HE'S ALREADY RECEIVED 10 BLOWS FROM THOSE IRON BALLS!" Krieg Pirates laugh cruelly, "GYAHAHAHA! HIS BONES ARE ALL CRACKED BY NOW, I BET! KILL HIM!" Sanji glares up at Gin, panting, "YOU... SMALL FRY. DAMN IT, HE'S FREAKIN' STRONG AS HELL...!" Luffy watches intently. Gin looks down at Sanji and says, "...HAH... THOSE... SKEWERED DANGO OF YOURS AIN'T... SO GREAT..." Gin raises his tonfa high, declaring, "TIME TO PUT AN END TO THIS! DON'T BOTHER STRUGGLING ANYMORE!"

Gin swings his heavy tonfa down with full force, yelling, "DIE, SANJI!" Sanji, despite his severe injuries, raises his leg and blocks the iron ball with his foot. The impact is massive. Sanji grits his teeth and pushes back, shouting, "HAH! WERE YOU GOING EASY ON ME JUST NOW OR WHAT!? TO HELL WITH YOU!" He kicks the tonfa away, surprising Gin.

As Sanji blocks the attack, a loud "CRACK... CRACK!" is heard from his leg. Luffy and the Baratie cooks look on in horror. "WHAAAA!? G-GIN...!!!" the cooks yell. Sanji screams in pain, "AGHHHH...!" and collapses onto the deck. Gin stands over him, his tonfa raised again, saying coldly, "DIE..." The cooks panic, "SANJI!? I-IT'S NO GOOD! HE CAN'T EVEN WITHSTAND THE SHOCK OF HIS OWN KICKS!"

Don Krieg watches with a satisfied "HEH." The Krieg Pirates burst into laughter, "BWAHAHAHAHA! HE'S HOPELESS!" Gin brings his tonfa down toward Sanji's head for the final blow. Sanji looks up, blood streaming down his face, and curses, "YOU SON OF A..."

Suddenly, Gin stops his attack. He stands frozen, tears streaming down his face, and screams, "I JUST CAN'T! DON KRIEG!" Luffy and Sanji look at him in surprise. Krieg is shocked, asking, "WHAT?" Gin cries out, "I SIMPLY CAN'T... KILL THIS MAN...!" Krieg, furious and confused, demands, "WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY...!?"

A flashback panel shows Sanji offering Gin a plate of food, saying, "EAT UP. DAMN GOOD, RIGHT?" Back in the present, Gin is crying heavily, tears pouring down his bruised face. Sanji smiles around his cigarette, saying, "SAY THAT TO ME ONE MORE TIME!" Gin sobs, "I'VE NEVER BEEN TREATED SO KINDLY BY ANOTHER PERSON, IN MY ENTIRE LIFE...! THAT'S WHY... I JUST CAN'T KILL THIS MAN!" Krieg glares at him, enraged, and mutters, "COWARD...!" The Krieg Pirates are in disbelief, "I-IT CAN'T BE... DON!?"
