Ebbing Tide

A steam locomotive races along a winding track through mountainous terrain as large onomatopoeia "ホッホホッホ……ッ!!" and "ゴゴゴゴゴ」 shake the scene. A speech bubble exclaims, "BE RIDING IN THE LAST CARI!!" Another wonders, "HOW CAN SO MANY PEOPLE …". Inside the train car, a tall man in a pinstripe vest stands with his back to the viewer, facing several armed men in suits and hats who point guns at him. One gunman shouts, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING, ASSHOLEI!!" Another declares, "I SAW THAT KICK JUST NOW!! YOU'RE NOT JUST A CIVILIAN!!!" A third adds, "YOU'RE NO ORDINARY PERSON!!!" while sound effects "シャキシャキッ!!" emphasize the tension.

The confrontation continues inside the train. The man in the vest, sweat visible on his face as he smokes, reacts to the gunmen's words. One panel shows a gunman yelling, "IT ISN'T PRAISE!!!" Another states, "IF THOSE ARE YOUR HONEST FEELINGS …". The man mutters, "THIS IS AWKWARD." with "PFF …」 and "FSHH". A gunman orders, "HOLD UP!!" and "HEY, REPORT THIS TO LUCCHI-SAN AT ONCE!!" while another warns, "DON'T MAKE FUN OF US …". The man in the vest replies, "DON'T BE AFRAID!!! BECAUSE IN THIS CAR ……" as another voice says, "NO MATTER HOW RUDE AND SUSPICIOUS THE CHARACTER IS …". A close-up of a shouting mouth declares, "THIS AIN'T THE TYPE OF THING THAT SHOULD CONCERN CP9." with sound effects "KAFF" and "ゴゴゴゴッ!!".

A large man with wild curly hair bursts dramatically into the train car, arms raised, smoke billowing around him as he shouts, "I'M HERE!!!" and "JERRY-SAN!!!". Onlookers react with "PHEW, IS IT SMOKEY …!!!". A sign identifies him: "GRADUATE OF KARATE ISLAND CP6 SECRET INTELLIGENCE MEMBER JERRY". Jerry laughs "HA,HA, HA,HA." while asking, "AM I THE KING …" and referencing "OF SOUTH BLUE'S ISLAND … THAT'S FAMOUS FOR KARATEI". The man in the vest watches with a wary expression, cigarette in mouth, as sound effects "KAFF!!" and "ドドドドッ!!" fill the air. Jerry continues, "…… YEP. I AM …".

Inside a lavishly decorated train car, suited men stand ready as a massive figure in a black suit looms overhead. A voice calls out, "THE BOXING CHAMPION!!" Another suggests, "SO DO SOME KARATE." The champion, an afro-haired man with a fierce grin, unleashes a rapid series of punches while shouting "AURORA FLICKER JAB"!!! Jerry reacts with visible strain, "JERRY ~~~" as nearby voices yell "HEY!!! THAT'S ASKING FOR DEATH!!!" Impact lines and motion effects fill the panel as the strike lands.

The boxing champion's massive leg swings down with crushing force amid explosive impact lines and debris. Jerry cries out in pain, "GYAA!!" "UU BEH!!!" A panicked voice shouts, "JE... JERRY-SAN, THE ENEMY'S BEHIND... GAH!!!" The champion counters with agile movements, declaring "THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I'VE BEEN WARNED BY SOMEONE WHILE BETWEEN THEIR THIGHS." The long-haired fighter smirks, "HM!I HE ESCAPED, HUHN..." and retorts, "YOUNGESTER, I'M SAYING THIS BECAUSE I'M A BIG MAN... IF YOU THINK I'M AT A DISADVANTAGE IN THIS SMALL CAR, YOU'RE MISTAKEN." He adds, "IT'S A YOGA STYLE!!!" and "MY BOXING HAS THE ADVANTAGE IN SUCH A SMALL SPACE!!!"

The long-haired fighter presses the attack as the champion counters with rapid punches, "YOUR REACH GOT SHORTER!!!" "YOGA, 1-2!!" "WOOSH" "WOOSH" The champion yells, "YOU'RE ALREADY IGNORING THE RULES OF BOXING!!!" and launches "SCREW DRIVE KICK"!!! with a powerful spinning strike. The long-haired man is sent flying backward amid debris and impact effects. Observers react with shock as the champion lands, one figure noting "WHAT A WASTE OF TIME..."

The long-haired fighter spins into a devastating kick, shouting "BRO-CHETTE"!!!! The champion is hurled through the air with tremendous force, crashing into the train car wall amid shattering wood, smoke, and flying debris. Spectators in hats stare in horror, eyes wide and mouths agape, as the impact echoes through the car with large sound effects and motion lines.

The Sea Train races across the stormy ocean toward Enies Lobby. A narrator explains the layout: "EACH CAR HAS ITS OWN REPRESENTATIVE... STARTING WITH THE 7TH AND FINAL CAR... NAMING OFF THE GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS IN ORDER, NEXT UP, IN THE 4TH CAR, ALSO THE HEAD WAITER OF THIS VOYAGE, THE GRAPPLER OF 'CYPHER POL NO. 7', 'WANZE'. A CAPTAIN FROM MARINE HQ, FORMER ROYAL KNIGHT 'T-BONE'. AS YOU PROGRESS, THEIR POWER GROWS... 40 SAILORS IN THE 5TH CAR UNDER THE COMMAND OF... THE BOXER OF 'CYPHER POL NO. 6', 'JERRY'. WE BROUGHT ENOUGH COMBAT STRENGTH TO HANDLE ANYTHING. HOWEVER, TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE... THIS IS JUST A BASIC ESCORT MISSION AND WE'RE NOT EXPECTING ANY ATTACKS. CP9'S NEWCOMER, MR. The Sea Train barrels forward amid massive waves and dramatic sound effects "ビュオオオオオオオオオオオオオオ...!!" as Nami, soaked and determined, shouts "YEAH!!" and "RIGHT, GOT IT!!!" while reacting to the sight of Enies Lobby. "REALLYI!!" echoes nearby. The crew debates their next move: "WE CAN'T LEAVE UNTIL WE FIND LUFFY AND ZORO!!" "SO ANYWAY!! NO MATTER HOW WE GET TO ENIES LOBBY... USOPP'S ON THE TRAIN...!I IS THAT RIGHT~!!! SO SANJI MADE IT ON THE TRAIN!!" On the bustling dock of Water 7, Franky and the others rally the crowd with cries of "LEAVE IT TO US!!!" "PRETTY PLEASE!!!" "YOU GUYS!!" "EVERYONE SEARCH, PLEASE!!!" "SOMEHOW, SEARCH AROUND HERE!!" "SINCE THIS IS DEFINITELY THE DIRECTION THEY FLEW IN..." as they prepare to pursue.

Chaos erupts in the streets as voices cry "RORO-NOA~~~~!!" "WE'RE YOUR ALLIES~!!! COME OUT~~~~!!" and "STRAW HAT!!" Zoro leaps across rooftops while allies search. A frog-like figure yells "IDIOT, I'M ALRIGHT. LOOK FOR THOSE TWO, QUICKLY!!!" as "YES!!" rings out. Iceburg, injured and riding in a small boat, is urged by a companion: "YOU SHOULD REST... FOREMAN......! IT MUST HURT FOR YOU TO BE MOVING..." while distant cries of "NII!!" echo. Later, a bandaged man with a stern expression watches as two figures are carried away amid sound effects "ビュオオオオオオオオオ" and the question "HAVE YOU TOLD ICEBURG-SAN OF THE SITUATIONI TWO GUYS WENT TO HQ."

Marines argue frantically: "YEAH, ALL THE FOOD YOU CAN GET!!" "MEAT AND... SAKE!I" "THERE ISN'T A SHOP OPEN IN ZOUSEN-JIMA NOW!!" "... BUT WHY'RE WE THE ONES BEING WORKED SO HARD SO HARD SO HARDIII" "HAA..." "HAA..." while a long-nosed figure calls out "ZORO~~~~!!" "LUFFY~~~~!!" "STRAW HAT!!" Nearby, two figures discuss a hungry girl: "MAYBE SHE'S STILL GROWING.....!" "SHE MUST BE REALLY HUNGRY..... THAT GIRL." A man with a prominent nose complains "THIS IS TROUBLE, EVEN UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS, MY NOSE ISN'T VERY EFFECTIVE IN STRONG WINDS...." as rain begins to fall with sound effects "ビュオオオオオオオオオ" "ゼロゼロゼロゼロ" "RAIN..." and a small creature flees amid "ピュピュピュ" effects.

Massive waves crash violently toward a towering city as enormous sound effects echo across the sky. Nami stares ahead with a grim expression, sweat on her face. "THERE HASN'T BEEN EVEN ONE REPLY..." she says. Nearby, Franky shouts desperately, "EVERYONE'S BEEN CALLING FOR THEM..." Nami snaps back at him, "IDIOT, JUST KEEP TRYING!!!" while another voice wonders, "COULD IT BE..." The ocean surges with huge impact lines and debris flying. In lower panels, Franky and others continue yelling amid the chaos as Nami screams with her hand raised, the city structures trembling under the force of the unnatural tide.

The ocean continues its violent retreat around the central tower. "LOOK AT THE OCEAN!!!" someone cries as massive sound effects fill the air. "THIS IS AWFUL ~~~!!!" another voice exclaims. In the streets, the ebbing water produces repeated "SHSHSHSH..." sounds. "THE EBBING OF THE WATER IS ABNORMAL!!!" a character warns. Paulie appears, shouting "AH! PAULIE-SAN!! PLEASE LOOK!!!" while another asks, "HEY, WHAT'S WRONGI!!" Below, a small figure on a rooftop says, "IF YOU LOOK AT THE EBBING OF THE WATER... YOU CAN TELL THE SIZE OF THE HIGH TIDE..." as a rabbit-like creature yells "NYA~!!" and another voice notes, "I'M FLYING ~~~!!" The narration adds, "THE STRONGER THE EBBING IS, THE LARGER THE WAVES THAT WILL COME BACK."

Chimney stares with wide eyes, murmuring "CHIMNEY..." as another panel shows a close-up with "POP..." A vast view reveals the sea has completely vanished, leaving the city perched on a massive dry cliff. "THE SEA HAS COMPLETELY DRIED UP..." a voice states in awe. "IT LOOKS AS THOUGH..." another adds. Kokoro laughs "NGA GAGA GAGA!" while Chimney cheers, "IT'S AMAZING WOW! ~~~!!" and the rabbit cries "NYA NYA". The narration continues, "IN THE PAST... YEAH, DECADES... EVEN I HAVE NEVER WITNESSED A SCENE SUCH AS THIS." Debris and fish lie scattered on the exposed seabed as the enormous drop of the water level becomes clear.

A group of stunned onlookers including Iceburg, Paulie, and others stand together. "..... THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I'VE SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS.....!!!" one says. Another questions, "IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE FOR THE TIDE TO RECEDE THIS MUCH...!!I" while a third mutters, "..... CAN IT BE..." The ocean sounds have stopped entirely, shown with large sound effects fading. The exposed seabed stretches endlessly. "HAVE STOPPED....." a voice notes. In the back streets, panic rises: "THERE'S NOBODY LEFT IN THE BACK STREETS, RIGHT!!I IF THERE ARE, THEY'RE DONE FOR!!!" "COMPLETELY SWALLOWED........!!!" another cries. "THE BACK STREETS WILL BE..." and the warning follows, "WHICH CAN ONLY MEAN THAT HUGE WAVES WILL COME.....!!!" A man in a cap sweats heavily, staring in shock.

A small girl with pigtails and a striped shirt runs along a wooden walkway, shouting back, "GRAN'MA, LOOKIE, LOOKIE! SOMETHING'S OVER THERE ~!!" while a black creature hops nearby. "NYA NYA" and "THERE'S SOMETHING IN BETWEEN THE HOUSES ~!!" echo as the girl and creature peer between buildings. Close-ups show the girl and creature reacting in shock: "NYA NYA NYAA ~!I" and "EHHHHHHH ~~~~~~!I" A woman with long hair stands on steps, reacting with "HM ~!I" and "LOOK, LOOKIE, LOOKIE ~!!" while breathing heavily "HAA..." A close-up reveals the woman is Kokoro, sweating and wide-eyed as someone calls "KOKORO-SAN!!" In the next panel a grinning man in a hat addresses her directly: "PIRATE GIRL." She turns with a tense expression, replying "HEY, YOU....." amid background figures and motion lines.

A blonde woman stares in disbelief, exclaiming "JUST A SECOND... WHAT!I THE OCEAN'S DRIED UP..." as the cityscape fills the background. The pigtail girl points frantically: "WA~~~!! Residents shout warnings: "DID SHE SAY THE BACK STREETS!I" "DON'T YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T GO INTO THE BACK STREETS NOW!!!" "HEY!! WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING!!I" and "HEY, SOMEBODY STOP THAT GIRL!!!" A man in a hat questions a distant figure: "HEY, GIRL, ISN'T THAT YOUR EASYGOING PIRATE KINGI WHAT'S HE DOING THEREI" while another mutters "HMMII THAT STRAW HAT....." The blonde woman glares back furiously, thinking "THAT IDIOT!!!!" as she is told "COME BACK HERE!!!" A massive splash panel reveals the city under dark clouds with the narration "AQUA LAGUNA IS COMING!!!!" and the urgent warning "DON'T YOU WANT TO STAY ALIVE!!I" accompanied by dramatic sound effects and motion lines.
