A massive armored figure looms over him. "GET AWAY FROM THE PIRATE!!" someone yells from the stands. Gatz, the announcer in his spiked helmet, shouts desperately, "IF YOU GET ANY CLOSER, YOU'LL GET MIXED UP IN THE FIGHT AND DIE!! STAY AWAY!!" Another spectator wonders, "HEY... DOESN'T IT LOOK LIKE HE CAN'T FIGHT ANY MORE...I" The armored warrior roars, "PIRATE STRAW HAT!!!" as he slams Luffy down with a massive gauntleted hand. Luffy gasps, "PANT," struggling on the ground while the crowd reacts with shock.

Gatz continues, "I AM GATS, THE ANNOUNCER FROM THE COLOSSEUM!! DO YOU RECOGNISE MEI" He warns urgently, "DOF LAMINGO'S COMING AFTER YOU! WHAT WILL YOU DO IN THIS ROUNDI! IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO HELPI!" Luffy, bloodied and trapped in a web-like bind, pants, "PANT... PANT... YEA... I KNEW IT!! THERE AREN'T MANY STRONG RUNTS LIKE YOU OUT THERE!!" In close-up, Luffy thinks, "I CAN STILL RUN, BUT THERE'S NO TELLING WHAT HE'LL DO IN THE MEANTIME... ONCE I GET MY HAKI BACK... I'LL FINISH THIS IN ONE MORE ATTACK FOR SURE...!!!! I NEED... WILL BE THE END OF HIS REIGN...I!" In the distance, Luffy is hurled through the air amid explosions and debris. Gatz's face fills with determination as he yells, "ALL RIGHT!!!" Luffy, eyes fierce, declares, "I PROMISE...!!!!" The cityscape shakes with impacts as the promise hangs in the air.

A massive crowd of gladiators surges forward, weapons raised, roaring in unison. "YEEEE-DAAAAA-AHHHHH-HHHHHH!!!! WE NEED TEN MINUTES!!! ARE YOU READY, BOYSI!!!" The fighters charge with cries of "FORGIVE US!!!" and "WE'RE SORRY, LUCY!!! WE GAVE IN TO THE TEMPTATION OF THE BOUNTY PLACED ON YOU!!" One admits, "WE NEVER DREAMED YOU'D ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO CORNER DOFLAMINGO!" Another adds, "THE ONE'S WHO DIDN'T THROW THEIR LOT IN WITH YOU!! IT'S ALL THE FIGHTERS FROM THE TOURNAMENT...!!" Luffy watches them go, sweat and resolve on his face, as the horde rushes into battle.

The massive battlefield shakes as a group of pirates kneel and shout their resolve. "SORRY IN ADVANCE IF WE BEAT HIM FIRST!!!" one yells while another adds, "...AND PUT OUR LIVES ON THE LINE!!!" They continue, "WE WILL TRUST IN YOUR WORDS... AS A SIGN OF OUR REPENTANCE!!" A giant tree-like figure wobbles in the center. "WOBBLE... WOBBLE..." In the next panels, a massive structure cracks apart with "CRACK CRACK..." as fighters charge forward. "RIGHT!! HALF OF YOU, FOLLOW ME!!!" a voice commands. The scene erupts into chaos as a hulking stitched-face giant lunges with a massive weapon, roaring "DIE, STRAW HAT!!!" while laughing wildly "WIIIIII-HAHA HAH!!!"
