Luffy vs. Kizaru

A voice calls BE GENTLE... In a close-up, Luffy's face twists in a wild grin as he says WELL, THIS IS A PICKLE... An older man with glasses below reacts with HEEEY NOW... as impact sounds and motion effects fill the panels.

Luffy is sent flying backward from a massive impact, body twisting through smoke and debris as large Japanese sound effects burst across the panel. A voice cries...WITH MEEEEEE! Someone shouts HE WENT FLYING! while another laughs AH HYA HYA HYA HYA HYA HYA HYA!! A figure calls out WE SHOULD USE THIS CHANCE TO GET OUTTA HERE! Another replies YEAH, LEAVE KIZARU TO LUFFY! In the lower section, a young girl with curly hair in a checkered outfit gestures and says IF I DON'T, WE'LL BE FRIED BY THEIR LASERS THE SECOND WE DROP THE BARRIER. GOOD THINKING!! WHOEVER CONTROLS THE PACIFISTA WILL WIN THIS FIGHT... AND NO ONE ON THE HIGHER COMMAND HAS A HIGHER COMMAND AUTHORITY STATUS THAN US VEGAPUNKS. TO THE LOWER STRATUM, I'M GOING TO OVERRIDE THE PACIFISTA'S CURRENT OBJECTIVES! An alarmed small figure asks WHERE ARE YOU GOING, ATLASI!

Franky shouts, "FRANKY-KUN, COME IN!" as Atlas clings to him amid the chaos. Atlas yells, "THE WHOLE POINT IS TO KEEP YOU ALIVE! YOU THINK WE'RE GONNA LET YOU GO TOO, OLD-TIMERI!" Franky replies, "HUHI! JUST A SECOND, ATLAS! I'M COMING WITH YOU!" and strains, "I KNOW... IT'S JUST—!!" In the next area, Sanji calls out, "MY BAD! I'LL GO HELP HER RIGHT AWAY!" while noting, "AH... BUT THE BARRIER'S STILL UP..." Vegapunk's snail-transmitted voice states, "HOW COULD A STRAPPING YOUNG LAD LIKE YOU LET THAT HAPPEN TO HERI!" Someone exclaims, "SHE'S SURVIVEDI! THAT'S GREAT!! KIZARU KICKED HER FACE FIRST INTO THE BARRIER, AND—" Another confirms, "IT SEEMS BONNEY WAS KNOCKED DOWN TO THE LOWER STRATUM, CAN YOU CONFIRMI!" Sanji declares, "I'LL HEAD TO THE BACK EXIT!" and adds, "VEGAPUNK, I'VE GOT EVERYTHING YOU ASKED ME TO BRING ABOARD. I WANT IN ON THIS BONNEY RESCUE MISSION!" Franky agrees, "LET'S ALL RENDEZVOUS THERE!" as Sanji snaps, "HEY, THIS IS SANJI!!" A sign reads "2ND FLOOR, BUILDING A."

Meanwhile on the Fabrio-stratum, a voice warns, "JEWELRY BONNEY MUST BE CLOSE BY! STAY AWAY FROM THE CITY CENTER!" Explosions and SFX "ギャア!! ぎゃっ あっ" erupt as Sentomaru and allies clash with foes. A Marine yells, "IF YOU'RE CARELESS, SHE'LL AGE YOU TO WARP YOU!" while another shouts, "SONOVA—!! WHERE DID THAT WHIPPER-SNAPPER RUN OFF TOI!" Bonney cries out in pain with large SFX "ばっ わっっ らあああああああ!!" as she flips, "OH FLIP!" A voice cautions, "BE ON YOUR GUARD! SHE COULD BE HIDING ANYWHERE!" Below, a bloodied woman stares in horror as reports come in: "SENTOMARU...! HE'S BEEN BURNED TO A CRISP...!! WE'VE SPOTTED SENTOMARU! BLAST HER TO BITS!" She mutters, "HUFF... HUFF... DAMN IT..."

Bonney appears battered, whispering, "BONNEY... GET OUT OF HERE, THE MARINES ARE COMING." Sentomaru staggers forward with heavy breaths "ハア... ハア..." and SFX "ドンッ ギュオオオオオオオオ!!" reacting, "!I SENTOMARUI!" In the ruined cityscape, a cloaked figure wonders, "WHAT SHOULD I DO...I CAN I HIDE UNTIL THE HEAT DIES DOWNI" while Bonney calls out desperately, "SENTOMARU...!!" with SFX "ドンッ ギャッ...!!"

In the Labo-stratum, a massive sign reads "LABO-STRATUM" as chaos erupts with SFX "グイン!! ガチィィン!!" A voice calls, "NEED A HANDI" while another laughs, "OHH, ZOROH YOU GUYS ARE REALLY GOING AT IT DOWN THERE! AAAH HA HA HA!!" Below, a leopard-like beast and a swordsman clash violently. The swordsman pants heavily with SFX "ハアッ... ハアッ..." as the beast roars. A massive impact follows with SFX "ギュオオオオオオオオ!! ドゴッ...!!" The swordsman strikes back amid flying debris, focused on the fight as the leopard creature lunges with claws and flames.

Rob Lucci, in leopard hybrid form, snarls amid debris and flames. "Then I suppose the head of an Emperor's No.2 is still a decent consolation prize." Kizaru stands with sword drawn, coat billowing. "Heh heh... is that so...I" "It shouldn't fall to the captain to handle him." "If this is the best he's got..." Below, a scarred man lies on the ground. "At this rate..." A distant explosion erupts over the sea as Kizaru watches. "Hmmm..." In the next panel, Rob Lucci is hurled backward through the air, arms flailing. "I'm gonna take a dip in the ocean..." Impact lines and motion effects fill the frame.

Kizaru unleashes a massive barrage. "Yasakani no Magatama!!" Countless light projectiles streak forward in a blinding volley. "Kiiiii...!!" The attack explodes across the ocean surface in a colossal splash. "Sheeeen!!" Kizaru appears in close-up, eyes glowing as the light beams continue to rain down.

Luffy, wearing his straw hat, is blasted through the air amid water and debris. Multiple figures tumble chaotically in the explosion. "What theI!" Bubbles and shockwaves scatter everyone as the sea erupts violently around them.

Luffy is sent flying by an attack. "Woah!" Kizaru swings his sword. "Ame no Murakumo!"* Luffy counters with a stretching arm technique. "Booming Dawn Whip!!" "Gum Gum... That hurt...!!" He grabs hold. "Gotcha!" "Gum Gum..." Multiple Luffy-like figures appear amid the chaos. "Waaah!" "Which one's the real oneI!" "More Holo-Holo ghostsI!"* Impact sounds and motion lines fill the panels. *T/N: The last of the three Imperial Regalia of Japan. *T/N: Luffy seems to be conflating the holograms he encountered in Ch.1062 and Perona's Fruit power.

A massive striped foot crashes down in a devastating stomp, shattering the ground amid flying debris and impact lines. The attack is labeled "BOOMING DAWN STAMP!!" as smaller figures are sent flying. In the lower panels, Franky stares upward in shock, exclaiming "NO WAY, HE'S BACK THEREI!" A smaller figure is blasted away with "BOOM!!" and "KIAAH!!" effects. Franky then wonders aloud, "HMI DID I TAKE OUT THE REAL ONE TOOI"

Explosions rock the battlefield as Luffy grapples with an opponent. A voice cries "GYAAAH, HE GOT ME!!" and "GWUK... LUFFY!!" while another remarks "HMMM, HOOOW STRANGE. VEGAPUNK'S NOT HERE..." Inside a massive Vegatanks sphere, Vegapunk, Bonney, and others react in panic. Bonney shouts "YOU NO GOOD MARINE BRIGANDS! DON'T YOU DARE LAY A FINGER ON HER!" Franky yells "HOLD ON, LET ME IN, VEGAPUNK!!" and "I'LL BE DAMNED IF I STAND BY WHILE A LITTLE GIRL GETS MURDERED!!" as he charges forward, "HANG ON, BONNEY!! I'M COMING!!"

Franky points toward the distance, asking "...YOU'RE GOING, VEGAPUNKI" Vegapunk replies "AND WHERE DO YOU THINK..." while another warns "YOU'RE GONNA GET YOURSELF KILLED!! APPLE GRAMPS!! DON'T GO DOWN!!" A mechanical clash erupts with "PACHIN" and "WUP!" effects as a dinosaur-like machine attacks. Lilith commands "LILITH, USE GENERAL FRANKY TO GET THE SHIP OUTTA DANGER!" Franky answers "OKEY DOKEY!!" while declaring "I'M TAGGING ALONG!!" Vegapunk screams "WAAAAAH!! MY EYES!! IT'S SO HOOOOOT!!"

A wide view of Egghead Port shows the massive laboratory complex and ships under clouds. An urgent report states "URGENT UPDATE!! DR. VEGAPUNK IS ATTEMPTING..." and "...TO LEAVE THE LABO-STRATUM AND HEAD DOWN!" Vegapunk issues an override: "THIS IS AN OVERRIDE COMMAND FROM VEGAPUNK!! ALL PACIFISTA UNITS, COME IN!!" and "...TO ERADICATE EVERY LAST MARINE ON THE ISLAND!!" A Marine reacts in alarm as the order transmits with "FWIIK" and "BZZT" sounds. The final panel shows a close-up of Vegapunk and ends the chapter with "YOUR NEW MISSION IS..."
